K'Far is one of Brooklyn's best kept secrets. The atmosphere is chill, aesthetically pleasing and the food is amazing. The servers are so kind and our boy Mitch was just a down to Earth, willing to help cool dude. The tuna crudo was pretty damn good. Had that little touch of spice that made it interesting. The crispy mushroom hummus was perfection. The Arabic salad was eh okay. Nothing to rave about. Dorade was probably one of the best fish dishes I ever had. De-boned, whole fish and just executed to perfection. The chicken schnitzel had these delicious pickled vegetables on top and it came along with this spicy tahini. It was a generous serving. Honestly, I had a better experience here than Laser Wolf, which is right upstairs. Easier to get reservations (for now) better service and better food. read more

If you've been to K'Far in Philly, I'm afraid to say that I don't believe the Brooklyn location compares. Given this, I was pretty disappointed. I'd give the restaurant 3.5/5 stars. The decor is very nice but the tables are so close together. It felt uncomfortable to be pretty much sitting on top of the people next to us and I felt that I was part of their conversation. If you visit as a larger group (I think 5 or more people) there are tables that can accommodate and these are more spaced out. If you've been to Laser Wolf upstairs, I also found that experience to be a better one, overall. This restaurant is relatively new so hopefully they'll make improvements. The star of the show at K'Far is the sweets. The gluten free pecan cake ($7) and pistachio sticky bun ($7) were very delicious. I'd come back for both of these! The Jerusalem bagels are also worth ordering. I recommend the egg and cheese ($13) or the grilled cheese with tomato and olives ($15). I wouldn't order the patty melt ($20) again. The kubaneh bread was unique and quite good! The burger seasoning was missing something in my opinion. Also, they don't have regular ketchup, only tehina ketchup which is unique and tasty, but sometimes you also want regular ketchup. Popped in for brunch to try the Jerusalem bagel and I've been dreaming about it since. The cheese that they use on this is so melty and gooey-ooey it is the perfect contrast to the crispy crunchy bagel. The egg is fluffy and airy. The whole concept together makes a great bite. Highly recommend asking for extra shug on the side as this only enhanced my meal. My friend enjoyed her latkes although both her and I aren't a big fish-for-breakfast type. She really liked the crunchy, crispy edges paired with the cream. We both tried the pistachio sticky bun and the lemon cheesecake babka and although the bable might be slightly more attractive to the eye, 10/10 go with the pistachio sticky bun if you have to choose. Everyone talks about it for a reason. Don't get me wrong, the cheesecake babka was also super yum and I would be totally happy to order it again. We also loved our coffees. The interior is super cute and they even have a combo of indoor/outdoor seating available for all seasons. Service could have been a little better, I found myself looking for our server a few times. Great new brunch spot! I was pretty impressed just walking in because the space itself is beautiful and stylish, with lots of plants and filled with natural light. We started with the sticky bun and the almond challah danish. They were both really yummy, but I was particularly impressed by the latter. It tasted better than it looked - moist and fluffy. And if you like almond/marzipan, you'd love it! Then, we shared the egg & cheese Jerusalem bagel, which really hit the spot. The way they cook the eggs is great, very fluffy, and the za'atar paired with the schug gave it a nice kick. The smoked trout kubaneh was tasty as well, definitely a lighter dish, more like a toast.. which was good since this was already a pretty carb heavy meal. Service was friendly and attentive. From Mike Solomonov, who also opened Laser Wolf upstairs earlier this year, this is another winner from his growing restaurant group. Brunch menu is small and not interesting, I was about to leave but my husband still wanted to give them a chance. First of all, Williamsburg that full of tourist nowadays is packed, I totally unterstand. Lots of good, varities restaurant and I'm so appriciated. But I still feel like I'm in the middle of time square, so overall I'm not crazy about K'Far at all. I thought I was going to a local restaurant but instead it is a restaurant in the hotel. Deeply frustrating experience. We put our name down for 6 people and were told it was an hour and 15 minute wait. We came back in time even though we didn't receive a text. The staff told us there was no way we were getting seated for "at least" another 45 minutes. When asked why this changed, we were told the prior staff member "made a mistake". We stuck around for another 30 minutes and decided to just check again that we were roughly on track. Then we were informed that they made another "mistake" and only put us down for 2 people. Luckily we sobered up after our meal and decided to head home instead. We started off with the mushroom hummus, baklava, and lamb tartare. We were so delighted by all the flavor profile every dish had. I thought the hummus would be very average but I was pleasantly disproven. The strong well balanced taste of the tahina was so delicious. Every dish was wonderful. Our drinks were great tasting as well. I like my drinks strong, they weren't strong but delicious. Our most mains include the dorade, mixed grill, and hanger steak. The dorade was a little bit light in flavor, but the mixed grill and hanger steak was perfection! The mixed grill was definitely the highlight of our main courses. Cannot recommend it enough the meats are cooked and flavored so well that it was gone within moments. The mixed grill came with sauces and the peach amba had a unique taste that wasn't to our liking but everything else was delicious. Their dessert was good but did not wow us. We tried the Pistachio Sticky Buns, Ricotta Toast, Eggs & Merguez with Sausage, Arayes, Shakshuka with Sausage and Crispy Mushroom Hummus. The first thing that comes to mind when thinking of K'far is the beautiful space it's housed in. Feels like you're eating in a lush garden. Everything we ordered was delicious and I wouldn't hesitate to return. The Jerusalem bagels were a highlight for me. I do wish they had a brunch menu or a more extensive Israeli breakfast menu (currently you come either for breakfast or lunch) but I'm sure that's to come. Service was superb. read more

After walking around Williamsburg on a hot summer day, we really wanted a snack. I checked my trusty Yelp bookmark list to see where we could stop in the area and came across K'Far. We had been to several of Chef Michael Solomonov's restaurants, including Laser Wolf, which was located upstairs, and loved his food, so we were excited to try that more recent venture. We did not have a reservation, but the place had just opened for dinner, so we got lucky with a table in their enclosed garden. Our waiter was efficient, accommodating, and friendly. He greeted us right away, and, when I made the unusual request for an iced coffee at 5:00 pm, he pondered for a second and then said, "We could do that!" Well, he brought me an excellent iced coffee that was rich and bold...but also turned out to be a $6 cold brew. My boyfriend ordered one of their specialty cocktails, the Persian Margarita, which he liked. When it came to the food, we shared both the Baharat Beef Hummus and a side of the Fingerlings Potatoes. The hummus was Chef's traditional smooth, creamy version, but it was topped with sliced, marinated beef and pine nuts. The heavenly spread was served with a fluffy, warm pita for each of us. We wound up asking for more bread and later discovered that our second round had cost another $4 ($2 per pita), which had not been noted on the menu or called out by our server. It was not a huge deal, but just a bit of a surprise. The potatoes had been perfectly cooked to possess the ideal balance of firmness and tenderness. However, they were heavily coated in spices and served with diced shipka peppers, making them spicy and super salty. The potatoes might have been the first item from Chef Solomonov that I had not loved. Overall K'Far was terrific, though it might not have been the right spot for a simple afternoon snack. We likely could have found another spot with more small plates and affordable options, but we were just glad to try another one of MS's restaurants. read more

Since we got there a bit early for our reservation at Laser Wolf, we decided to grab drinks at K'Far's lobby lounge bar. The seating area was full so luckily we were able to grab a spot at the bar itself. We tried a few of their signature cocktails, and my favorite was the CG&T, which is celery gin & tonic. The celery really works with the herbal gin! Also really liked the Aunt Debbie. First time trying a cocktail with za'atar! The decor of the restaurant is very nice with soft lighting and candles at the tables providing a very intimate dinner setting. The decor also fits the Mediterranean theme and there are many beautiful plants to support the ambiance. The drinks were absolutely delicious. Would recommend the yalla yalla with gin and the CG&T. I never expected celery juice to pair so well - the drink is well balanced without being too sweet and the celery flavor is not overpowering. The hummus was a hit as well as the Arabic salad! Of the dishes we had, the cod chraime and the short rib were among our favorites. If you're ordering the cod, be aware that it does carry a little bit of spice to it and it pairs very well with the basmati rice. The short rib was very large and SO tender - absolutely delicious. One of the most underrated hidden gems in NYC! The menu is so eclectic though you can't miss The schnitzel or the exceptionally excellent spicy Chrayme (yeh Americans it took you sometime to know how to say Shakshuka , hummus & sushi ....) and obviously the kubane what ever flavor or taste you can't go wrong . And you got to try all of their pastries and specifically the pistachio sticky bun . All are at ELITE quality and very delicious! Beautiful and friendly space and great service to complete. In the hotel and down a level from street, this light and open, airy, buzzing spot is great for brkfst/lunch. Well-spaced and comfortable tables for 2 to 10 people in indoor sunlight with good music. Add to that really flavorful Med dishes and pita that's soft and chewy and K'Far is a winner!! The shakshuka is hearty and full of tomatoes, onions and eggs. Added merguez sausage for the spice and savoriness and it was next level. The fried kebabs in pita were another huge hit. Great wait staff service, too. read more

What a beautiful restaurant! I was intrigued by the vibe and layout at the moment I entered the hotel. The bakery & cafe are on the left hand side and the restaurant on the right. The inside was very bright and spacious featuring a clear glass ceiling and a lot of vibrant green plants, creating the vibe of dining in the nature / jungle. The food here was amazing. The hummus was very smooth, flavorful and fragrant with the beef and pine nuts. The summer squash had a great texture with the crunchy spices on the top and creamy sauce at the bottom. The dorade was my favorite dish, it was so good that I could not stop eating it - the fish was perfectly seasoned and grilled, crispy on the skin and tender on the inside, and the little yellow tomatoes were a surprise to add to the flavor. The chicken was very nice too with the apricot sauce and harif, the meat was juicy and tender, although I wasn't a big fan of the slaw. And last but not least, the service was awesome. It was well-paced, and the servers came to change our plates after the appetizer too. Some may enjoy the food here but I will not be coming back to this place because of the experience. To be fair, it was only one member of the staff at K'far who had been unbelievably rude but he alone caused the place to come off as lacking the patience and possessing the desperation restaurants strapped for cash are notable for. When I stay in the Hoxton Hotel, K'ar is my go to breakfast spot. This review is solely on the breakfast. Everything I've had so far has been delicious, the yogurt and their many toasts, with the avocado toast being my favorite. The restaurant is nice, quiet, and warm. There is a lot of seating but it can get crowded with guests checking in and out of the hotel. I love their coffee bar that they recently opened, even though I don't drink coffee, it has a lot of other drink offerings and it is conveniently located. Love this place so much! Everything from the ambiance, decor, service, and food is great. I've been to both the cafe and the accompanying restaurant and have had stellar experiences at both. For the cafe: Great place to do work or catch up with a friend and chill. Their famous pastries are available, as well as a variety of espresso and coffee drinks. There's a bar as well. Seating can be hard to find at peak times, but if you wait a bit a spot will definitely open up. For the restaurant: Gorgeous place! I am in love with the Jerusalem Bagel Sandwich that they have here. My fiancé and I ordered the egg and cheese Jerusalem Bagel sandwich to share and OMG I should have just ordered my own.
