People eat this on purpose? My employer brought in bags of chicken sandwiches from the Fletcher Parkway, El Cajon KFC. One bag had regular, the other contained the spicy sandwiches. My intention was to remove the chicken from the sandwich, cut it up and add it to the salad that I brought from home. I chose the spicy. When I removed it from its foil pouch, I immediately noticed how sad the bun was. A no frills, plain bun that was squished and deformed. I tossed the bun, set the pickles aside and put the chicken into the air fryer. It was a pretty big piece of chicken; bigger than the bun it was on. It crisped up nicely and looked decent...then I cut into it. Ugh. It oozed grease. Not the juice of juicy chicken, but pure grease from the deep fryer it was originally cooked in. It started to soak through the paper plate that it was on. I couldn't bring myself to even taste it. I could feel my arteries hardening just looking at it. I threw it away. It was a very, very clean and cool, and comfortable environment. In addition, the service provided by Matt, could not have been any more welcoming, and helpful. We needed help with our order, and he was very helpful when we wanted specific type of chicken, and additional things, like the cole slaw, and the biscuits. We also thought that the food was extremely delicious, extremely juicy chicken; not dry at all, at all!!! It's not always possible to tell from the outside, but you can here. Went to drive thru. Workers were playing around on the intercom, so unprofessional. Then they said they were hoping to give us 2 free chicken tenders which was weird so we just left. This KFC is amazing, everything were just feeling brand new, from the interior to the exterior to the drive thru, to the displays, register counter, tables, drinks station and of course the food. The food was somehow different from any KFC location; the staffs were also nice, the manager greeted me as I come in, my order came out quick, the server asked me very thoroughly about what I wanted he even added additional stuffs even though I didn't ask. No trashes or stains anywhere, every few minutes the manager would go out to the entrance and picked up random garbage; it was just sad when I had to witness group of thieves come in and steal an online order, I overheard one kid asking for a water then grabbed a delivery bag of food then walked away without saying anything, the management tried to call him back but he took off, so they had to report to the police, but nothing else they could do, very sad when this happened to honest people who doing honest business, I hope the police will catch that person. read more

The service and food have really changed and not for the better. I thought for old times sake we'd go to KFC and, I ordered a small bucket of chicken breast because I don't like dark meat & my daughter ordered the chicken poppers complete meal. It was almost $50.00 and our order wasn't complete. It was a good thing we ate there because if I would've gotten home with an incomplete order, I would've been furious, especially with the gas prices now. My bucket wasn't just breasts, and my daughter's meal didn't include fries. When I brought the bucket back to the cashier, the manager came and was so angry I was letting them know my order wasn't correct. She yelled at me that I have to pay more money and that I'm not going to get white meat for free. Can you imagine? What happened to a teaspoon of customer service? So, I let her know, it's not about the money it's about getting the order served correctly. What good is dark meat if I'm not going to eat it? I can't believe I'm even having this conversation with her (the manager). I had to have my whole order refunded and then recharged, during this time, my food's getting cold, and when we get to the table, my daughter's meal is missing the fries! Boy, did I not like to have to go up to the cashier again. I was made to feel like it's my fault and it wasn't! I haven't been to KFC since way before the pandemic, and, it looks like this last time will be the last time I'll visit again. Well first off, I waited over 15 minutes for 1 car in front of me to clear the drive thru. In the end 2 medium cups and 1 medium plastic bag was given to the customer that didn't look to have much in it. I finally get my mobile order (mobile orders are to be picked up inside but at 7:26pm they were already closed) home 3 miles away and the meal was cold. The ice in the soda mostly melted. Not only that but I got the Kentucky Grill and it was supposed t be 2 breasts and a wing. It was very dry and tasteless. As the picture will show it looks like a quail not a chicken and for this I paid $12 and no receipt to complete a survey. You know, the Georgia Gold Tenders could be so much better if they were to just make a few changes on how they serve the tenders, not to mention it would help that they would not over cook the macaroni in the macaroni and cheese that I asked for my side. I ordered the combo which came with three crispy tenders, a biscuits, and the side of mac & cheese I mention for $5.49. I was sadden the combo did not come with a drink. The tenders were cooked well, meaning they were tender on the inside and crispy on the outside. The Georgia sauce was good with its hint of mustard but the problem was that they drenched the tenders in it and served them swimming in a pool of the stuff. They should of tossed them in the sauce, drained the tenders, then serve them on a plate. Here, they simply poured the sauce over the tenders which made them over sauced and quite oily. I had to pat and pat them on a number of paper towel to drain the excess oil the sauce came with. Seriously, these could of been so much better if they would just take a little care when they prepare them. The macaroni and cheese was a mess. Like I said, the pasta was way over cooked rendering it mushy and the sauce did not taste of a specific cheese, but was very buttery. It's such a simple side dish to make, and I guess as it is to make, it's as easy to mess up. I stopped by here to pick up a quick lunch and all was okay. I went through the drive thru. There was no line so I was able to zip right through with ordering, paying, getting my food, and moving on with my day. I ordered a famous bowl combo with a strawberry lemonade. This is fast food, I never expect the world of it and I was content with my meal. The strawberry lemonade is an up charge. It is just a strawberry syrup that goes into their lemonade but I enjoy it. The chocolate chip cookie was nice and soft which I like. It isn't huge, just the perfect sized cookie. My famous bowl was good. I really like them even if they are incredibly terrible for you. The staff member working the drive thru was kind and easy to understand with her mask. I didn't get to the inside of this location, at least not Saturday night, because it was just after 10 and they had closed the doors. But I was hungry from no dinner yet so I drove through and got 3 chicken strips for under $4 (no sides) and nibbled on them while I drove to my destination. They were okay, but fairly salty and chewier than I expected like they were in the deep fryer for too long. The young man at the window was very cheerful and the service was fast. The food was adequate but not real flavorful. One thing I used to love about KFC was how moist the chicken was. It wasn't very moist that night. My general observations about KFC's (copied from my review of another location): I like the consistency in that you know exactly what you're getting, but I don't like the saltiness of the Original (which used to be my favorite) and the BBQ and others are saltier except the Grilled which is what I usually order now that they have it. If I'm in the mood for strips I forget they're going to be breaded and therefore salty. The biscuits are always good but it's shabby they don't automatically give you butter and honey with them like they did years ago. And it is a spread, not butter, and some kind of honey-flavored syrup instead of the real deal. Shabby. Their coleslaw is consistent and the standard by which I rate all others. The mashed potatoes aren't as good as they used to be nor is the gravy so I don't order them much like I did when I first started going to "Colonel Sanders' Fried Chicken". But I still like to drop in here once every few months for a KFC fix. A few years ago they offered delivery but I don't know if they still do. read more
