It's crazy seeing all these KFC's with poor star reviews. But as I'm sitting in the parking lot about to go in, I realize why the reviews are so poor. These restaurants are poorly kept the service is not all the way there and the food quality is declining as they use progress and as they try to sell their cheap menu. Angela at the indio ca. location is absolutely the worst. I went drive thru, paid and then asked to park. Was parked for 10 minutes when Angela handed me my food without my drink, I asked for my drink and ketchup. She came back without a straw and when I asked for a straw she said in a rude tone, we gave you your drink at the window. No they didn't. She went inside and I knew she was not coming back out, I went inside and asked for her name several times and no one inside would give me her name. The floors had a slick residue and the tables all appeared to be sandblasted, probably just normal wear over the years. I was wanting something flavorful and could not decide between Nashville Hot or Georgia Gold so I opted for the two-for chicken littles special. What is a chicken little, basically, a chicken tender on a bun? I hoped getting the Hot and Gold would elevate them, neither had much sauce or flavor and the chicken did not bring much to the party. Drive thru is pretty fast service, BUT, then you have to wait in the parking lot along with 6-7 cars waiting for their order too. I waited 45 minutes for my order. They locked the doors, so I had to go back through the drive thru to get my refund. The manager refused, and said there are no refunds. She tried to force me to take the food, after she then rushed to throw my order together that they forgot. I said I just want the money. She refused again. I leave and I called the KFC 800 number to get a refund. It's a call center in another country. I drive all the way back to pretty much beg for a refund. Manager finally complied. But what happened next or (where didn't happen) she left the food on my bench outside of my house. Never rang the doorbell never called again. Ordered a 16pc bucket with 8 biscuits 3 mashed potatoes and wedges. Ordered at the drive thru, the cashier taking the order could barely hear my mother (and she was speaking at a normal volume) the cashier seemed scattered and preoccupied. When we got to the window to pay we were told it would be a 7 minute wait so my mom told the cashier we would wait inside. The wait was more like 15-20 minutes because from what I could gather from listening and watching the kitchen; they ran out on wings and breast. We ordered grub hub delivery one evening and got a chicken sandwich, well, at least that is what I ordered. When it arrived, it was so dry I couldn't bite into it. I checked to see what was in between the bread that prevented me biting thru. It was the 'chicken' it was void of any moisture, almost mummified. I called KFC HQ to complain. It appears KFC HQ is disinterested in complaints. So I am forever disinterested in anything that garbage pail of a restaurant has to offer. And since they don't even wish to discuss my experience. Stoped by this afternoon to pick up a bucket of chicken. Asked the young lady if they had any specials; she told me what they had, and I placed my order. The young lady did mentioned that because I ordered wedges it wound take an additional five minutes; which I was ok to wait. When I pulled up to the window the young lady took my payment but immediately asked if I can pull to the front of the store. Knowing the structure of the building, I didn't want to move because I wanted to wait in the shade. I told the lady that if anybody pulled up behind me I would move, but that I would just sit by the window until then. The young lady appeared annoyed and insisted I move. Once again, I explained to her that I would rather wait in the shade, but as soon as another car pulled up behind me that I would move. She was not having it! She went to the back of the room and brought, what appeared to be the cook; to demand I move because I was messing with quote unquote "their time". I repeated what the man said back to him "your time?! What time?" Unable to explain himself, he removed himself from in front of me to bring yet another person. A heavy set woman, which I can only imagine was the manager. At this point is has been more than five minutes and all I could think about is that if they would have started my order instead of arguing with me about moving; my food would already be done! So once again, for the third time, I try to explain to the manager that as soon as another vehicle pulled up behind me I would gladly move. At first she was not understanding but after I was more forceful she changed her attitude and allowed me to stay by the window. At this point I don't trust the people that are handling my food, but I had already payed; so I was forced to take the food. But I can't be sure the staff didn't purposely did something to my food. Once I got my "sketchy" food and was driving off, I noticed a bunch of the employees looking out the window at me! Trying not to show they really ruined my day, I wave to them as I drove away very upset and unsure if my food was tampered with. I can't stress enough how annoying it is to go here and be asked to wait every time, I could understand if it was close to closing time and they didnt want to over make food and waste it...but in the middle of the day when all you sell is chicken...and make multiple people wait.,it's ridiculous!!
