Right on Elmira Road in Ithaca an easy stop on a roadtrip if you're passing through. The front register woman is way overqualified and should be managing the store. It seems like everyone working there are family members in some way. All cousins I believe. So, it's a family operated business. Anyways, the original chicken is still finger lick in' good. The sides are way smaller and expensive than I remember but they are still tasty. they include of course things like mashed potatoes, slaw and Mac n' cheese which go great with fried chicken. There are some outdoor picnic tables but when I was there they were wet from the rain earlier and hadn't been wiped off. the whole outdoor space could use a good landscape designer and some screening so your not just eating in the middle of a parking lot. No large lids were stacked at the fountain but overall well run and not a bad place at all. If I was going to choose to eat fast food I would certainly choose KFC over the many other venues in that part of town. Be sure and check out my pic !!! Food is not up to par and the manager is rude I will never eat there again and the wait on ordered is horrendous

Wasn't too busy when I came in on a random Weds afternoon to pick up my online order for a double-down sandwich. Came about 10 mins before my order pickup time, so it looks like they make it right before your set pickup time for your order. Got the regular double down in san online order to try for myself and as part of the Blizzard Diablo IV promotion for that sweet sweet early access code. I mean...look at that combo. They know their MMO-playing demographic, do they not? The service was nice-- the bearded staff there called me Sweetheart, which I'd never gotten outside of older women at a diner, but was endearing (and gender-neutral)! As for the sandwich: I was a bit weirded out by the slices of cheese stiffly poking out of the two hefty fried chicken patties (?) but they melted nicely by the time i got home to eat them. The breading was heavy-duty, with some crunch, a nice layer of bacon between. The fries were pretty salty, so had to rub some of it off. It ended being pretty rich for me, so I had to split it over two meals. And had to have some toast with it to balance the fried chicken. So it ended up being a trad sandwich in the end. This place is a joke... been here 3 times and poor food and service every time. The third time was only because my wife insisted. Went through the drive through, my wife ordered 5 piece tenders and I the 5 piece dinner with sides. Got home only to be disappointed, my five piece dinner was like five very small things that look like they may have been once part of a full piece of chicken. It was like they were pranking us. Ordered KFC's $20 Family Pack today. It should be called more like a Family Snack Pack. If your family consists of 2 adults (with one adult that doesn't eat much at all) and 1 child you might be ok. Any more than that and someone is going hungry. The family pack consists of 2 wings, 3 drums and a thigh for the chicken, 4 very small side and 4 small biscuits. The biscuits are smaller than they use to be. Now you say 4 is good but just look at the picture of the size of these sides. Staff are rude anytime I come here this specific time they did not have anything ready that I wanted. Service 1/10 the employee who took my order was rude, made me wait ten minutes just to order to find out I had to wait another 10 minutes for them to make what I wanted. Not sure what speed competition they're trying to be in but they should work on quality of service and quality of food and actually having food ready. I ordered food from here via doordash and I paid 30 dollars to not even receive the 10 dollar famous bowl, and then also have to wait 3-7 business days for a refund. One of the chicken wraps i ordered was so poorly constructed the tortilla just fell apart with one dot of mayo on it and near rock solid chicken. Nothing else. Then the other chicken wrap was burnt to a crisp and so was the mac and cheese in it. The mac and cheese bowl I got was stale tasting. I used to love going to KFC back in the early 2000's when it was in ithaca. Now its embarrassing to order food from. The staff are just lazy and idk what kind of circus is being run down there, but they need to clean it up and pay attention to what theyre doing before someone calls corporate. Ordered my meal from the kiosk when I walked in. I sat down at a table and waited. 20 minutes later, the girl behind the counter called my name and told me my meal would be another 14 minutes, but would be fresh. She did give me a soft drink cup although my order didn't include a soft drink. I told her so, and she said it was okay. 40 minutes later I still didn't have my meal. I told the girl I had to go and I wanted a refund. She offered to get my meal, but I told her didnt have time to eat. She said we don't really do refunds, but she would call the general manager. I'm excited that we finally have a KFC in town. We went through the drive thru and the service was quick and nice. Only issue is that I had to ask for sauces and napkins and all the extras. They didn't ask me what I want, we got 12 tenders box and side of Mac n cheese, biscuits, and cole slaw one fries, total was $36. Everything was good. I would just be aware of asking them for sauces, ketchup and anything else you need because they don't add it on their own. read more

You have to double check that your order is correct. They will consistently screw things up. For example: -Give you the wrong sides -Forget items -Don't give you utensils If it is important that your order is correct then I would not order delivery b/c you can't double check it. Recently, I was in COVID quarantine and decided to get the chicken tenders as a treat. The staff completely forgot the two sauces. Have you ever had the chicken tenders with no dipping sauce? The absolute worst. Fry your chicken at home. They messaged me an hour and a half after placing a delivery order to say that there was no food left at all and suggested I cancel my order. They offered me no other option until the delivery person insisted that there must be some substitution. By that time, I was so turned off by the wait time and experience that I canceled. This KFC has only been open for a month, so granted they are still working out the kinks, BUT..... I purchased the meals while going through the drive through, a 2 pc and 3 pc original meals. The 2 pc was fine, the 3 pc was nasty, burned and dried. I tried to call, but there was no answer, so I drove 15 minutes back into town to complain. Once there both the shift manager and the manager above her apologized profusely and offered to replace the chicken. When I asked about compensation for driving back in she said, "we can't do that". She acknowledged that the chicken was burned and said, "We're training new people and there are mistakes." So, I said "If you know it's burned, why did you send it out?!?" No real answer! I was visiting my Dad in the hospital I asked my son to pick me up a 3pc tender box from KFC. It was awful. After waiting an hour he came away with a very small portion of tenders the size of 3 nuggets,inedible mac and cheese as well as awful Mash & gravy. The Mac was dried out and crunchy and the mash tasted awful I ended up throwing it away. I was really hungry I had not eaten all day the amount of chicken would not fill up a toddler and was dry. We were so excited to finally have KFC back in Ithaca. The first few visits were awful. Burned, dried out chicken and biscuits you could have used to pound nails. Ok...it'll get better. So, now we've worked our way through the menu and, frankly we're just not feeling it. It's just ok. Just not as good as other KFCs we've been to. The biscuits are better, but the chicken always seems dried out. We want to enjoy this place so will keep on trying. read more

I love KFC but this one is horrible today my husband and I wanted to take our girls out for lunch after a long day of running errands. We walked into the restaurant and there were no customers at all the garbages were over flowing and no one at the counter to take orders no manager in site and no cars in the drive thru. We waited 10 minutes in the lobby and no one came up one of the guys came up but not to the counter he didn't even look at us to see if any one was here and even after we made all kinds of noise in the lobby no one came. So we left I was so mad not because we couldn't eat there but because when I called the store as I was literally getting in my car the managers excuse was I only have 3 people on but I looked back there and there was 6 people all of them not doing a thing but pretending to work. I have worked fast food many times and was even a manager and one point and even on days when I was short staffed I was not hiding in the office or where ever the manager was hiding I was multitasking and helping my staff. We did call corporate also and the lady we talked was so nice and apologetic towards us. Something needs to be done with that store and soon before they are taking out again read more
