After walking shoreline, I had this uncontrollable craving for chicken. I specifically tried to find a KFC with a drive through, and while this KFC is listed on Google as having a drive through, be forewarned, it does NOT. If you order on the app, you will need to find parking and risk your life by going inside. The parking is behind the building and I felt a little alarmed and unsafe because it was already dark. I wish there was a way to order a piece of chicken without ordering an entire bucket or having to order a meal with Pepsi products. So the next best thing I could do was to order an eight piece chicken bucket, which was excessive for one person. Then you are given weird cuts of meat like tiny arms. So it's not really a practical eight piece bucket of chicken. If you order on the app, you have a chance of getting some bonuses so I got some free chicken nuggets which was kind. But the staff forgot dipping sauce, which was unkind. Overall, my dog and I enjoyed the salty and fried chicken, as long as we removed the fried skin. Don't worry, I didn't feed him that much. Just enough for him to feel special. They could improve if there was a drive-through or if somebody could run out to deliver food to your car, similar to Chick-fil-A. I only say this because as a woman, I do not feel safe at night all alone in this area, walking through strange parking lots that are not connected to the Main Street of Milpas. read more

Hadn't been there since new ownership took over and suddenly had a craving for KFC. It was Awful! Food wasn't the standard recipe, never had brown chicken tenders and the customer service was awful! All I have to say is Thank you so much and God bless the employee that was working today around noon. I left my purse hanging on my chair when my husband and I had lunch. I got home realized it wasn't in the car and rushed back to KFC as my husband was calling them I was having a panic attack. I had my rent money in cash and all my credit cards. Including my very expensive partials. The man who answered the phone said that he had it and it was in his office. My husband got down to get it cause I was still in tears having a hard time breathing. Everything was still inside my purse. Thank God! I'm not the biggest fan of KFC because I've had so many rotten experiences. But fried...chicken. I tried to get a double down here awhile back. I failed. Well, lesson learned don't make the mistake I made. This location does not participate in national promotions. So no double down...you have to drive to Ventura for that. The rest is ok. Decided to come to KFC for the first time in like 10 years after seeing a commercial for their new chicken and donuts. The store was closed early (by at least 45 minutes) -- locked with the employees inside closing I guess. Several others have come (and now gone) while I type this as well. I got here at 9:18pm. The website says they're open til 10pm. The door says 9:30pm. Either way, they're not open when they're supposed to be. Definitely not wasting my time coming back. Edit: Went to Chik-Fil-A instead. Wayyy better! And they're actually open right now, 10 minutes before closing. And there's at least 10-15 cars in line plus several people in the store. Seems like people will actually do you your business if you are actually open when you publicize you are. Maybe KFC should try it. read more

Our family stopped in for lunch today while traveling because the kids were hankering for Mac n cheese and it was the closest thing around. We were pleasantly surprised by the very kind staff who went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. Food was prepared quickly and met my expectations. I was born and raised in Santa Barbara. I used to live on the Eastside. Been going to KFC all my life. They just recently changed ownership. This was the nastiest tasting chicken I've ever gotten from KFC!! Vert disappointed. The chicken was DRY!! The biscuit was so hard I could throw it and make a dent on my wall in my home. I worked at KFC while in high school as well as a few other chicken joints, so I know fried chicken. Disgusting!!! GROSS!! Describes the inedible meal we had the misfortune to purchase from this KFC location. The cooking oil was rancid from being overused and the chicken tasted horrible. At the bottom of the bucket was about a third of a cup of blackened cooking oil. The flavor KFC is famous for was nowhere to be found. The coating itself had not properly adhered to the chicken and was loaded with the rancid oil. This is what happens when cooking oil is overused in fast food restaurants trying to extend the useful life of the oil. The KFC gravy is made from a powder added to water. Obviously, in an attempt to cut costs extra water had been added and the gravy had no flavor. Coleslaw was OK. Mashed potatoes, made from flakes, were OK as well, but absent a flavorful gravy, were not to be enjoyed. The restaurant itself was nasty. Watching workers constantly touch the mouth area of their Covid-19 mask then touch food was also both alarming and disgusting. As a former KFC cook I can tell you that even on a good day, what is served now is not the same chicken being made when I was an employee. Numerous cost cutting efforts to increase profitability have destroyed the once great fried chicken experience. Same goes for Popeyes. Once the original creators of the brand were out of the picture the quality disappeared. Being from New Orleans I knew Al Copeland the founder of Popeyes. He's passed now, and so is the quality of the recipes that were so incredibly delicious that a little bit of New Orleans ended up in nearly every neighborhood in America. The same now goes for KFC. Like those KFC imposters of the Colonel on TV, Kentucky Fried Chicken is an imposter of the original as well. Unless you wish to be abused and you enjoy throwing away thirty bucks for eight pieces of rancid chicken, pass this KFC by, and find a Raisin' Cain's. read more

Dirty and unkempt are the two words that resonate in my mind when I think of this KFC. It's a shame. When I eat fast food, I typically lower my expectations as I know I'm not in for a first-rate experience. However, even this location leaves much to be desired. It's consistently dirty in the dining room, not always well-lit, and I've seen staff who don't wear gloves when handing money and then food, and look as though they could benefit from a shower. Not what I want to see when I'm ordering food, regardless of the price. The fare is decent at best. The last (and likely final) time I dined here, I was served undercooked chicken and mashed potatoes that tasted days old. I didn't get very sick, but had to discard half my meal which I normally never would do. It was just that atrocious. There is another KFC location in Goleta which is quite a bit better than this spot. Simply put WORST SERVICE EVER!!! If I could I would of rated this a 0/5. Went with 2 friends to try the new double chicken sandwich crap. We first drive to the KFC closer to the UCSB campus and they don't even have it; so they tell us (not in a kind way) to try the one here. We end up driving here and doing in asking for the sandwich. Two ladies (who seem to be the managers) are just standing around; one leaning on the wall (looking very bored). We ask politely if they have the sandwich and we get a very disinterested reply of "we have to check if we got the chicken." (whatever that means). Almost 20 minutes pass (3-4 customers order) and we have to ask a 2nd time. Mind you, this place is small and the lady we asked was leaning on the wall the whole time with us clearly in view. Now we come up and ask the 2nd time and she replies "yah we have them", still not doing anything we ask if we can order them and she finally says "ok". My friends end up ordering it (me excluded at this point) and overall it tasted mediocre at best. For a chain this has got to be my WORST experience from a company. I am going so far as writing a complaint letter/calling the corporate offices to complain about this lady and the poor customer service. read more

My dad got food poisoning from this location. He vomited all over the parking lot and when he tried to speak with the employees- they were rude and said "we didn't give you food poisoning." My dad really just wanted them to be aware and check their kitchen/food to make sure everything was being cooked but they were defensive and not interested in listening to my dad. Days later after my dad had recovered from 27 hours of major stomach pain with lots of vomiting he went back to KFC (not to eat of course!!). He wanted to speak to the manager to let her know about what happened. She took zero responsibility and said none of her employees mentioned anything. Very disappointed with the response from KFC. Tired of burgers for lunch, how about a couple of piece of chicken? Santa Barbara only has one outlet and it is tiny, dirty and dingy. In addition to that, the quality of the food is suspect. I have had KFC in many cities and countries and this is the first time I have developed a stomach issues hours later. It is located in an area frequented by high school kids and is a few doors away from some excellent Mexican taco and food places. I should have opted for some fast Mexican food which would have run circles around the chicken I had. They need to tear the joint down and build a bigger unit which would have a more efficient kitchen and allow for better cleanliness. The space inside only holds about 10 people so when if you are there for lunch you are on top of everyone. It was not my best dining experience I have had. Too bad there isn't a Popeyes in the hood. read more
