My husband I found ourselves her on a Friday night after weeks of having a craving for KFC. There are not many KFC locations in the twin cities so we trekked it across the river to Shakopee. We opted to eat there so have the freshest experience. My husband ordered the chicken sandwich and I ordered a 4 piece chicken meal with mashed potatoes. The mashed potatoes and gravy were fine but nothing amazing, the sides at KFC really do lack overall which is a bummer. My husband really liked his sandwich. The chicken I got (extra crispy) was indeed extra crispy and good. All of the chicken was juicy and not dry which was a huge win! I could not finish all the chicken, but all of the chicken was great! The star of the show was the biscuits. I tried it and was shocked at how fluffy and hot it was. I looked at my husband and said "I think this might be the best biscuit ive had all year!", he of course tried his and instantly agreed. I had always thought that the KFC biscuits were subpar, but maybe the key is to get them fresh. These biscuits were phenomenal. There were not any one else in the store when we were there so the staff was great and attentive to us. They even encouraged us to try the new sauces they had which really did pack a healthy punch but not overpowering. There were crumbs on a lot of the tables, but other than that the store was well maintained. I think this place does more drive thru business than anything. read more

So far I have tried this location once and I'll give it a 3 star. The food was good which is always a plus. The staff is friendly and that's nice. The only issue I had was needing to wait for my order. I placed an order for pickup inside. Next time I will go through drive thru so I won't need to wait 15 mins for the food at the counter. While I was waiting they said that they had multiple orders to make before mine. All the orders were for DoorDash and/or other companies like them. I think that if a customer is in the store then they should prioritize the order over orders where the driver might not even be there yet. Got hungry while walking the State Trail and was in the mood for some fried chicken. This location does have dine-in as an option currently, which was great because I felt like sitting and enjoying my meal in a relaxed environment. I was really impressed by the interior; it looks like it was likely renovated recently with spacious design, and it was really clean too! Special shout-out to employee Andy (skinny and has a beard, recent hire). When I came in there was no one inside, but he was sweeping to keep busy, and when he saw me, he immediately came to the register to help me out. I was indecisive on what to order, but he was patient, polite, and helpful with my questions, giving me his full attention. I also saw him later on do a really good job handling a difficult guest (you know the kind). Management take note: he deserves a raise/promotion! Anyway, despite being short-staffed, my meal was ready probably quicker than the time it took me to order it, LOL. It was also hot and delicious. When we want comfort food, we get KFC. After so many locations closed or turned into Popeyes, we went years without this addictive chicken. When I found KFC on DoorDash *and it's just a few miles away in Shakopee, we were like SCORE! We enjoyed it so much, we decided to make it our quarantine Thanksgiving dinner along with my southern cornbread dressing. My youngest daughter wanted in, so we delivered a bucket plus Mom's dressing to her house. Christmas Day we repeated it, adding another daughter and her husband to the delivery route. Despite ordering Christmas Eve at noon (they closed at 4) our chicken got piping hot in the oven the next day. I'm a fan of original recipe as are RC and my older daughter's family. My younger daughter likes extra crispy strips (she has a thing about meat with bones). They had a chicken/noodles like dish, potato salad, an apple-crumb style desert, and BBQ beans. They also have a few fresh vegetables and some ranch dressing, though I don't recall lettuce. No popcorn chicken or wedges, but plenty of original recipe/extra crispy and it was refilled regularly. $8.99 w/drink for adults. Older kids are $5.99 and I believe small children were $2.99. I hadn't eaten at a KFC in at least 3 years. My daughter and I had eaten at the KFC that use to be in Bloomington on Lynndale. Later that evening her and I became sick to our stomachs. We were up half the night puking . About 6 months after that that KFC, was shut down. I noticed that the KFC in Shakopee had been remodeled and cleaned up, so I thought I'll give KFC another try . I had the Buffet. I did not get sick afterwards, but looking around while I was eating, I'm still concerned about cleanliness. There was only a couple of clean tables to sit at . We have been buying their fchicken for years. The other day we ordered the big family meal and forgot to tell them that we had a coupon. It was $20 more that we expected so immediately went back and asked them to adjust the price not only did the manager refuse to do it but was very rude and mean and also called us names. My husband said the he would call the police on him because he would not let us return our food. He ultimately adjusted the bill but would not give us a copy of the receipt saying he cannot print another copy. He was so mean and rude. I have worked in retail and food all my life and there is no way that he could not print out another copy of the receipt. Never had fried chicken that i didn't like until I tried this place. The buffet had horrible quality of salads and unbelievably bad/soggy chicken. The tables were disgustingly sticky and that is after they wiped them clean. The 45 minutes we spent in there was not enough to see anybody sweep or clean the floor that was equally dirty as the back of the store.
