Don't eat here...NO concept of what good service is. Shame, because it starts with the management. Been here (DT location) 3 times and 2 of those we sat inside. Bothe times the service was horrible !! first time it took us 1:10 min to get our food...( the food delivery service was WAY MORE important to assist than the people sitting in the restaurant. Second time we had to go up to -1 get cutlery -2 water cups -3 order beer -4 to go containers -5 ask for the bill. As a Iranian, I hate to right a bad review of my own people, But there are 3 other restaurants just within 5 min walking distance.....try them. Ordered a bunch of food - ghomeh sabzi, sour tendoloin kebab, yogurt mint drink, olive, eggplant, yogurt w cucumber. First time having Persian food and it was delicious!!! I loved the flavors and the scorched saffron rice was delicious. Wow for the olive with so many different flavors of sweet and tart and crunch. The sour tendoloin kebab was also tender, sweet and delicious. It reminded me of Korean la kalbi a bit but not the same. The ghomeh sabzi was herbal so I would recommend if you are more used to eating that Asian herbal food. The yogurt w cucumber reminded me of a thicker version of Greek tsaziki. The yogurt w mint was good. Service was excellent. I would definitely return again. Reason for not giving 5 star is because my Persian friend was satisfied but not 100% with the food. Like, he says for the dates, it should have a lot more and bigger bits of the nuts. For me, I was still very happy with my experience. My wife and I had a marvelous meal in Khaghan Restaurant at their Denman Street location. I met the owner and his wife one day and he graciously invited us to give his restaurant a try. We did and it was great! A lovely young woman named Sara runs the bar, helped us choose our food, took our orders, brought our delicious food and brought me a VERY good red wine. The food was plentiful, nicely spiced the way I requested and the red wine was perfect for our meals. The service was excellent, the restaurant was clean, the decor very Persian and we will soon return. As for the delightful & lovely Sara, well, I hope the owners know what a jewel she is. The food is amazing but I gave them a 5 star because I called them tonight at 9:30, when they were about to close....the guy on the phone said they wont take anymore orders and they wont deliver one meal.... I got upset and the guy picked it up.... he then said wait... and after a min He came back, took my address and delivered a very yummy Kabab in only 20 min.... humanity, customer service and having EQ are as important as having a good food in business... to whom training the staff... welllll done! In terms of food I would say it's pretty good. The food Has some homemade feel into it. The place seems to be a family-run joint. Probably the best Persian food in downtown Vancouver. I would say maybe the best chicken Kabob in town. It's a good value for the money too. The menu is however unnecessary big. I would stick to the classic Persian food. Don't order from their Western Menu ... Service can be improved. Ambience has got much better since my last visit. Ok so I don't know what's going on here. KG's restaurant that I reviewed is now the Khaghan Restaurant - very Persian but with other items on the menu (e.g. cheeseburger) and some dishes cooked in cast iron skillets that sound really good. The old menu that I reviewed is gone. I had two skewers of "prime beef" which were very good, with lots of rice and a roasted tomato (one of my favourite parts of Persian dishes). The rice was piping hot which I loved as I've had it served at room temp at other Persian places. Wasn't the best ground beef skewer I've ever had but was very good. I wish there were more mix and match options on the menu. It's possible they might do it if you ask, but I didn't. In place of white onion they had red, which I didn't prefer. Quick service. Looks like they're still getting organized which almost made me put 3 stars, but I'm in a good mood. read more

First time trying persian food in Vancouver and Khaghan surely made me feel like I'm back in Iran. The food is absolutely amazing and the staff are super friendly and helpful. I try to go back every week now and have loved every single food I've tried. Their Vaziri kabob is my favourite since it has a skewer of each chicken and beef. The setting of the place is super cozy and warm as it makes me feel like I'm actually eating at my home. I wish I could eat there everyday!! read more

Appies: Wild mushroom crostini & salmon lollies, Mains: Chicken penne,.. but the best was the Chicken Schnitzel with sauerkraut and creamy potatoes. OMG, that was gone in a flash. Gave this place a second chance with my family (a group of 8). We ordered ghormeh sabzi, shishlique, loghmeh kabab, vaziri kabab, salmon kabab, pomegranate and garlic marinated olives, shallot yogurt, and doogh drink which was pretty much what we had ordered last time we had gone there. Last time, we enjoyed everything but were disappointed with the vaziri kabab and shishlique. This time around the shishlique was AMAZING and the vaziri was much better, in particular the ground beef kabab was juicier. The service was good. Our only disappointment was that our food didn't arrive at the same time and those of us who got our food had to wait for the others to get theirs and by the time their food arrived, ours was borderline cold. read more

Delicious food! Zara, our server, was very nice, polite and friendly. We were visiting Vancouver from California, and were pleasantly surprised to find this gem. We ordered the kashk bademjoon, mast o mosir as appetizers. The kashk bademjoon was very delicious. The mast o mosir didn't have much mosir (shallots) but a lot of black pepper, which was very odd. For our entre, we got the koobideh, joojeh kabob (bone-in as well as boneless). The koobideh the most delicious kabob we had had in a long time. It was juicy and flavorful. The joojeh kabobs were very juicy and very tasty, too. For dessert, we ordered the ice cream and it was delicious as expected, and the presentation was gorgeous. The tea could have been better (please don't put cinnamon in your tea). The portions are generous, and the serving dishes are cute. I don't recommend it. I really wanted to like this restaurant, but what a big disappointment. I was there on a Saturday night, and I noticed the restaurant was understaffed. Besides that the servers clearly don't have training. My husband and I repeated the order three time because they messed the orders in the kitchen. Besides that, one of the servers constantly touches the food with her fingers (she doesn't carry the plate from underneath). I requested to replace the silverware because of the fingerprints marks. I ended up canceling my appetizer due to long waiting time, and I was tempted to walk away from the main course. I need to mention that I requested for water three times before getting annoyed by their lack of good service. Note: don't order Cesar's salad, it's overwhelmingly full of dressing. We were delighted to stumble upon this place. I ordered the viziri (chicken and beef skewers) plate and my husband the boneless chicken. Both were cooked perfectly making the meats moist and flavorful. Great rice and nice selection of veggies on the side. We also ordered garden salads and asked to have onions added which they gladly did. Salads and main courses were generous portions. The only thing that was fine and not great was the bread which seemed liked it came out of a bag. Wish we had a place like this in Seattle! read more

They didn't know how to make an old fashioned. My husband's meal had raw meatballs in it. They did comp us the drinks and his dish (which he didn't touch).
