This is a restaurant that I love to visit for its authentic cuisine. I must admit, the portions are larger than they appear, more than I could ever eat in one sitting--quite a generous serving! Fortunately, the food tastes great even after taking it home and reheating it the next day, which saves me the trouble of cooking. I can't get enough of the desserts here; they're so unique that I haven't found anything like them elsewhere. I would recommend bringing a date here to share the food. The atmosphere is very pleasant, especially in the afternoon when it's not too crowded, and the nice background music helps to ease any moments of silence. New Syrian spot in Corvallis and it's a must-visit! The place is downtown, just a block from the river. It used to be a taphouse/ bar if I remember correctly so it's got this big open feel with tall ceilings, but still feels super cozy. The menu is huge with photos of everything (love that), and everything we tried was packed with flavor. The muhammara was a standout, I'd never had it before. We had one of the best dining experiences ever here! The restaurant itself is cozy and beautiful with a great ambiance. We ordered a variety of things to share because everything looked and sounded so amazing that we wanted to try as much as we could. Presentation and plating of each dish is stunning and it's clear they truly take a lot of pride in the food that they serve. Let me tell you, as gorgeous as the food looks, it somehow tastes even better! Service was impeccable: our server was friendly and helpful. She recommended the Musakhan Rolls which we REALLY enjoyed. Other favorites were the Manoushet Zaatar and Grilled Maria. Even the Hummus is the best I've ever had. We ordered way more than we probably normally would and were so pleasantly surprised with the pricing and value of each dish when the bill came. Less than 24 hours later we are already missing our delicious leftovers (which we devoured, by the way) and planning what new items we will order next time we go (which will probably be very soon). Food is amazing. And authentic. However the service has always sucked. They are so slow. They seat people right next to you. The whole restaurant can be empty and they seat the person right next to you. Tonight they squeezed two people between me and two other people and there are multiple seats at the bar. It takes forever to get your food also. I wish they would get up with American culture because the service is in need of a lot of help and promptness. I was on a business trip attending a conference at the OSU. Khalo Naser looked like the right dinner place for me. I ordered the lamb kebab platter and it was delicious. Very fresh ingredients and the plating looked beautiful. The waitress was very nice and attentive. The place looks nice with nice ambiance and comfortable seating. What a treat! Khalo Nader definitely lived up to its many other 5-star reviews here. The food was fresh and delicious, with wonderful spices. Even the aromas were a delight. The service was kind and attentive. Our waiter (owner's son?) seemed delighted that it was our first time in, and was pleasantly helpful. Pictures of each dish at the back of the menu were also a good idea for those of us who aren't as familiar with Syrian dishes. The atmosphere was somehow spacious and cozy at the same time. I came here with my partner when the restaurant wasn't open for too long (July 2023), but oh it was so good! I think their service was rather messy because we didn't seem to have one designated waitress, but the food made up for it. The area was nice inside the restaurant, though I wasn't a big fan of the chairs we were sat in. They were rather awkward. I ordered the Chicken Schwarma and my partner got the Lamb Shank. The chicken schwarma was the best I've ever had, it was so delicious and the chicken wasn't dry at all. I did have to request for more garlic sauce, but it was so so good. The lamb shank had the meat falling off the bone and the red sauce they served on the side with it added such a nice touch to the meal. We left stuffed and I wish we could come back again! read more

The food was delicious. Is there something wrong with me that I think food should be served warmer than tepid? Like when I order an extra hot latte at some coffee shop and it's served cool enough that I could let my three year old grandson drink without fear of getting burned! Not all middle eastern food is the same. Not surprising given the diversity of the region, the variety of the people's, the rich history. The flavors at Khalo Naser exemplify this showcasing Syrian food. The kababs are spiced distinctly, I have never had not fried kibbeh (new experience), the eggplant is done a bit differently from the prototypical 'middle eastern' entrees.
