The food here is some of the best Middle-Eastern food I have eaten. I got the meza plate so I could try a variety of food. The baba ganoush is so yummy as was the hummus, grape leaves, and falafel. This place is fabulous! I've had a great deal of Syrian food and this is by far the best I've had. (Salem, Or. used to have a middle eastern shop where you could buy Zaatar, Egyptian cheese, and Camel milk. Tony's wife, had a restaurant upstairs and she is Syrian. We went so much we were offered Syrian dishes that weren't on the menu, cooked for the small local community. The hummus is to die for! Creamy like mayo with completely balanced flavors to you can taste the garlic, the lemon juice, and the tahini and nothing is too much. They also offer a large menu of pretty fancy libations, including smoked in a bubble. Beyond that, most Americans don't understand that highest level of service in 5 star restaurants. The tradition is to serve from the left and remove from the right and this happens every time. We actually arrived before the busiest time and our server was the chef. Gracious, attentive, and utterly pro to the highest level that most Americans won't notice. Before you go, take a bit of time to look into Syrian meal customs as well as how to indicate that you're not done or fully done by how you lay your utensils by the European standard because they pay attention. 5 star meals with 5 star service at affordable prices. Food was fantastic. They don't take reservations and weren't too packed when we arrived. 5 minutes wait for seating, couple minutes more to receive menus. We ordered and chatted, food is all made from scratch - we happily waited and weren't disappointed. We started with the meza platter- delicious. The star was the lamb kebab. We were too full for dessert but will look forward to trying it next time. I think if you're prepared for the wait it's a great place to have a relaxing meal and people watch. read more

Ok, let me start off by saying, this isn't my "go to" type of cuisine, my daughter is a vegetarian and I figured I'd expand my horizons. Seeing a high yelp review, we gave it a whirl. Easy parking right around the corner, greeted immediately and sat in a nice booth. Ambience is clean and classy, the vibe is relaxed but classy. Big L shaped bar , booths lining the walls. Dark tones, clean polished glassware on tables. Good start.... server came and described a few dishes I was unfamiliar with and portion sizes. They have pictures of the dishes on the menu too. Lots of fresh juices and I was recommended to the polo juice. This minty citrusy infusion was perfect on a warm summer evening. We started off with the "mama spinach pie", I mean c'mon, if you're gonna name it that I'm gonna have to try it. This tastes to me like a healthy pastry. The wrap is light and crispy and flaky, with veggies inside. Unexpectedly delicious. My daughter gets the veggie platter and loves it. Our server (Emily) tells me to try the tenderloin tips... amazing. The sauce w the onions and the pita bread was a fantastic flavor combination... now that we trust Emily, she mentions the sukseh being a "must try" and this dessert is a cold chocolate and pistachio flavor combination that just works. It looks like it's a chocolate bomb of sweetness, but it didn't make my teeth hurt, it was a fantastic finish to my evening... however... there's more...I had the chance to try a Turkish coffee. The food was good, but the service was seriously lacking and quite rude. I went with a small group of friends. We had made a reservation, but when we arrived, they claimed we weren't on the schedule and were quite rude about it. They made a mistake with one of the orders, giving us a sandwich instead of a plate. When we pointed this out, they suggested adding fries to make it the same. We reluctantly agreed, but then they charged us for the fries without even apologizing for their mistake! To top it off, while we were still eating, the waitress asked when we would be leaving. Seriously? ! the tone and way she asked made us feel that we are not welcomed. The servers weren't friendly and didn't interact with us much, and when they did it was not pleasant at all. My friend had to go find one of them just to ask for our check! I am sad to say due to the service attitude I won't be eating there again. read more

I just absolutely love this gem of a restaurant. The servers are friendly, the food is outstanding (the creamiest smoothest hummus around). The seating is a little weird - some of the tables consist of big chairs around smallish tables or picnic tables. I think they could redo a few of the table designs and accommodate additional patrons, but maybe this is on purpose. This restaurant has been a great addition to the corvallis food scene. read more

What a delightful surprise! My wife and I debated between pizza and this place, not expecting much from middle eastern in Corvallis. We came here, and so glad we did. Khalo Naser is objectively quite good. Coming in from August heat, the environment felt cool and inviting. We got tabouleh, hummus with lamb, and a couple kinds of fataier. The tabouleh was generous with the parsley, not too much bulgur. The hummus was quite good too, but the star was definitely the fataier, especially the cheese one but also the spinach. We ended up getting our pizza itch scratched in an entirely unexpected and lovely way. Staff was friendly and everything was served promptly. We'll definitely be back for more. read more

While Khalo Naser's plates are modestly arranged, they make up for it with incredible flavor! The Hummus is 10/10 the best I have ever had. So rich, toasty and creamy! I had the Lamb Kabob plate, and all of the flavors worked so well together. The salad was bright and flavorful, and complimented the lamb and rice splendidly. The service is above average. Lots of staff to check in regularly to ensure everything is well, and your water is refilled. We had our appetizer within 5 minutes of ordering, and our food came out right when we finished with the appetizer. The location of Khalo Nasser was once a swanky bar that I believe was owned by Big River restaurant, that closed a few years ago. While the restaurant likely has a larger bar area than a restaurant like Khalo Nasser would ever really need, they did a great job making the space look completely its own. I don't think the Television's are necessary, but they mostly just had some nature documentaries playing silently. This is by far the best Middle Eastern cuisine that we have had in Corvallis, and I am so happy to finally have a place in town that makes reliably tasty food. read more

I can't remember what this building was before, but the change is straight winning. Thank you for bringing food with amazing flavor to Corvallis!! We were out at the market so we stopped in for lunch after. There are tables and booths, a nice airy atmosphere, but not so spaced out you feel lonely in the universe. They seated us at the bar (after asking because it was just us two), we picked a spot near the kitchen, and while generally that would be a terrible location, I don't think there is an ill-favored location in that place. The waiters and whatnot were delightful from the start. Family vibe while totally professional. Enthusiastic and charming. You feel like they actually want you there. Customer service has really dropped since Covid, but not here. Over the top attention in a good way. They had us laughing the whole time. I started with Turkish coffee, it was fragrant and perfect, the Polo my friend got was similar to a non alcoholic sweet mojito. He nursed it because he wanted it to last. I'm learning you can tell a lot about a place based on their non-alcoholic choices. Since that was all the choices on the menu, extra points for panache. They take serious care with every aspect of the food in a way that shows pride, not pretention. From the hummus to the salad to the lamb and everything in between was high flavor, pretty presentation, good portions, and brought out in a timely fashion. Hands down, the most tender lamb I have ever gleefully stuffed in my face. I love lamb, this was obscenely good. I'm sad I couldn't possibly make it to dessert, but they certainly have tempting ones. Their menu is set up words in the front, repeated with pictures in the back. It's a great choice for people who want to try something outside their culture without making them struggle. Plus the photography illustrates the real life appetizing presentation. Halal and Dairy are marked, and if you're gluten free like me, while it isn't marked, it is easy to navigate choices that are obviously free of it. My cohort said the gluteny things were incredible though, if that helps. Prices were fair for quality and portions, we were happy to tip for great service and atmosphere. Parking in that area is easy, and the walk along the river is always nice after you've eaten way too much because you couldn't stop picking things off the menu that sounded necessary in your gastric life. First and foremost, I wholeheartedly recommend the restaurant. Oregon particularly in this region needs more good ethnic restaurants. I want to give this restaurant a 4/5 which to me is a very high score. The food was excellent. We started with the Maza plate. This plate was a collection of appetizers, hummus, mutabal, baba ghanouj, yalanje and of falafel. Each of the items were excellent except Falafel. The falafel tasted fine but didn't seem fresh. The only critic of this was the "bread" was a tortilla or what they use to do their wraps. The hummus was very good and while we are not always huge fans of eggplant, both the Baba Ghanouj and Mutabal were excellent. There was a very strong roasted taste coming from them which was quite tasty. The food was well seasoned and not salty. We then had the Lamb kebab wrap and a chicken shawarma wrap. Both wraps were wonderfully seasoned and extremely yummy! I definitely recommend the wraps. We wrapped things up with Pistachio baklava, which was excellent. The Phyllo was very flaky and buttery the was very yummy. Definitely would want to order a tray during the holidays! The bad news is the service really needs to be improved. While most of the tables were full, they were generally staggered so should not have been a real issue. I am not sure if it's due to the lack of restaurant experience and or that the restaurant just opened in March I believe. It may also be their lack of a good POS? It took awhile to get our order in. One of the servers that seems to be related to the restaurant owners finally came and got our order. One of the other servers then gave our appetizer to another table. It was only due to the original person that took our order and noticed we did not have our appetizer, came to check in with us and figured out the issue. They do not serve alcohol which is not a negative but just an FYI. I think they would likely make more money also serving alcohol but I do not know if it's a religious decision or licensing. The decor was nice although interesting to see picnic tables in the middle of an otherwise well decorated restaurant. Just a bit jarring. Now, we will give this restaurant another try perhaps with more time so they can figure out the front of the house issues. In the interim we will probably try ordering to-go but we haven't tried this process yet and don't know if there will be any issues. I do recommend that people try the restaurant because the food is very good. I really hope that they figure out the front of the house issues and hopefully keep enough people coming in enough to stay business. read more

I've been twice. Amazing food however they definitely have never ran a restaurant before. I'll try them again after they work out some kinks. It takes forever to get your drinks. They want to seat everyone next to each other so I request for at least a booth space between others. They forget some things. We were looking for something new for lunch and came across Khalo Naser. What a fantastic lunch! We ordered the Hummas Plate with Lamb, Cheese Pies and Soujouk pies. All of the dishes were extremely good! Also ordered some Strawberry Banana smoothies which were really fresh tasting and nicely done. We finished with both the Walnut Baklava and Pistachio Baklava and both were delicious. This will be a new "go to" place for us when we're in town. read more

The best food I have had in Corvallis by far. This place in absolutely amazing. Get ready to wait for your food, but there is a reason. They make everything fresh and by order, so you are not going to get food that is half cooked, waiting for you while drying out. You get pure magical fresh flavors. The lamb dishes are the best I have had, The mezze had every dish shine in flavor. The chicken shawarma and shish tawook was so tender and juicy. I have had a lot of Syrian and Lebanese food from around the world and this is one of the best. They take pride in their food, so PLEASE be patient when you visit. The food is fantastic but if you have an allergy or bad reaction to scents get takeout. It smelled a little like incense and our server was wearing a ton of perfume. Kinda ruins the taste of the food! A scent-free atmosphere would result in more return customers. read more
