I spent about a year going in and out of jewelry stores, big and small, and spent endless hours searching online looking for a special right-hand ring. I was not sure what I wanted. I was searching for a jeweler to buy an engagement ring and I came across Khan Diamonds while I was in the Jeweler's Building in Boston. Iqbal was actually closing down for the day but graciously let me come in and then sat with me for an hour discussing my options for the engagement ring and diamond and what he could do for me. I had already done extensive online research about purchasing a diamond and everything Iqbal brought up was in line with my research, which I appreciated. I actually had my eye on a specific diamond that I loved online but I was too nervous to buy it online. Iqbal then went onto his extremely extensive database of diamonds around the world and was able to find the exact diamond I wanted at a much lower price than online. 3 words: attention to detail! I had to get a couple of fixes done on my wedding ring set: rhodium plating, resetting a side diamond, taking out a dent, redoing some milgrain work, and most importantly resetting a loose center diamond (and by loose I mean spinning in the prongs). My rings were purchased in Ithaca, NY, so any work or repairs have always been done in NY, but I found Khan Diamonds through Yelp reviews and called because I saw notes about doing custom work on the website. Iqbal was very professional and responsive, and as soon as I pointed out the issues in my rings he recognized them immediately and proposed what he would do to fix them. He was thorough in looking them over (including taking several pictures) and didn't try to tell me I should just live with the dent or the side diamond that hadn't been reset properly before. (I had a small stone on the side fall out but the way it was replaced made it look oddly sunken in compared to the rest of them and I could see it whenever I wore my rings.) He quoted me a reasonable rate for the work on my 2 rings and said they would be completed in 3 days; I was prepared for 3 weeks! My husband picked my rings up from the shop since he was downtown, and Iqbal gave him a rundown of what he did: rhodium plated, buffed, tightened my prongs. He even reset the side diamond twice because he wasn't happy the first time with how it looked. After giving my rings to my husband he texted me to show me the results. My rings look brand new, literally. I've had them back for a day and can't stop staring at how great they look. I happened to walk into Khan Diamonds while exploring various jewelers in the Jewelers Building in Boston. I had a very good experience with Mr Khan who was helpful, patient and produces high-quality, fairly-priced work. Although my initial visit was to explore a sapphire eternity band, I changed course after my second visit when Mr Khan showed me that 2 diamonds in my 5-stone wedding band were cracked. I decided to forgo the sapphire band so as to prioritize replacing my damaged diamonds. Despite my change of direction, Mr Khan was gracious, offered me several options from the least expensive (recutting and resetting the existing diamonds) to the most (replacing them with 2 very fine quality GIA certified diamonds). He also gave me the option to sell the 2 damaged diamonds to a wholesaler which offset a portion of the cost. For insurance purposes, I had Mr. Khan re-appraise all of my fine jewelry. His apprasial fees are significantly lower than other jewelers I have previously explored at $35 for the 1st piece and $15 for subsequent pieces. I have not ruled out pursuing the sapphire eternity band that Mr Khan created - it is beautiful and I asked to wear it in the store yesterday while I was there to pick up my repaired diamond wedding band - which now looks stunning! I highly recommend Khan Diamonds. Without any references or knowing any of the jewelers at the Jewelry Exchange, we departed the elevator and were drawn by the "open door" and beautiful display of diamond rings. We were soon after greeted by a friendly "hello" by the owner, Iqbal. It didn't take long for Iqbal to understand what I needed (very good listener) and "zero-in" on just the right diamond and setting for my finance within my price range. He even suggested that we visit as many other jewelers as we wanted in the building to compare quality, price and service which we were planning to do nonetheless. I proposed to my GF of more than 8 years on the 4th of July with a beautiful 1.44 Oval diamond that I bought from Khan Diamonds. I went to the Historic Boston Jewelry Exchange in Downtown Boston the Monday before the 4th of July in search for an Oval cut diamond at least a carat in size with a petite band with small stones on each side. I was immediately turned away by a number of Jewelers once I told them that I needed a diamond set, sized, and ready to present for a surprise proposal on the 4th down the Cape. I got to know about Khan diamonds via yelp. I read upon the excellent reviews and wanted to give it a shot. My husband and I were looking for new ring on our anniversary. This was our first time buying diamonds in the states and we were quite nervous. I had a picture in mind of what I wanted but I found a really simple and elegant ring in store(girls always change their minds or its my opinion). My eyes were on it. On our first visit Mr.Khan showed us diamonds but all were above our range. He also gave us an advice on how to buy diamonds. After work this week, I took my silver engagement ring to Khan Diamonds to be enlarged, because my fiancé didn't know my ring size and it only fit my pinkie (5-1/2). Mr. Khan took my ring size (7) and told me what he would be able to do. I needed to leave the ring with him, but Mr. Khan made his assessment and rang me with a quote the next morning, which was more than reasonable. The ring is decorated with a Celtic motif, so there is a small gap in the design that was filled in with plain silver. I knew this would be the case and was already prepared for that; but I can easily wear that underneath. Even so, that section of the ring is extremely tasteful and I am not embarrassed for it to show. We were referred to Mr. Khan by dear friends. My husband wanted to get me both a 20th wedding anniversary and 50th birthday gift. We had visited 4 other well known places and left feeling overwhelmed and nervous. We wanted something really special and had no experience at all having used a family diamond for our original wedding set. From the first meeting, Mr. Khan was incredible. I had sent a photo of ring I liked and he had obtained the exact setting for me to try. He had pre-selected several nice diamonds in our price range and was very patient while I fidgeted and asked to try on everything in the store. As I was heading out to get some lunch and do some thinking I came across Khan's Diamonds as I was waiting for the elevators. The minute I walked in, Mr. Khan made me feel comfortable as he knew I was a guy in the beginning stages and had lot of questions. He was honest and straight forward which is a big deal for me. My significant other and I visited many shops in the jewelry building, Brilliant Earth, Tiffany, etc to create a specific engagement ring design we had in mine. The ring that I was trying to make was going to be special. I had found the raw stone while traveling in Africa. I had it cut Buy one of only a few lapidary services in the Northeast. And then for the setting I wanted something special. After having spent half a day walking around the entire jewelry building discussing with different jewelers options for the custom ring I was envisioning I was completely burnt out. Most of the jewelers there just resell other peoples work with a markup. Kahn is different. He does the work himself and is intimately knowledgeable about the different properties of stone or metal but he works with. My friend has different tastes from me so I was a bit worried going in there that he would not be able to help my with the style I was looking for. Mr. Khan made a custom ring for me that was exactly what I wanted. He spent a great deal of time with me going through dozens of gemstones and pictures of gemstones to pick out the perfect one. I never felt pressured to go with anything I didn't want and Mr. Khan was exceedingly helpful in helping me describe exactly what I wanted. He had the design ready in 1 week, if you notice the scroll work on the band, he did that too. When I gave the design my OK, the ring was ready a week after that.
