Every time I eat at Khan Karahi, it's an amazing experience. The wait can be a little longer, but that's because everything is made fresh from scratch--and it's absolutely worth it. The servers are always sweet and welcoming, and while the ambiance is fairly simple, the food is what truly shines. We always order the Seekh Kebab Karahi, and it never disappoints--so flavorful and delicious. This visit, I also tried the Chicken Korma. It wasn't exactly my preferred style, but it was still very tasty and well made. The real star of the show, though, is the Chapli Kebab. I'm usually not a fan of beef because of the strong beef flavor, but even I loved it. It was incredibly flavorful and perfectly cooked. We usually dine at the San Francisco location, though I've ordered takeout many times from the Fremont location as well. Both are great, but if you have the time, I highly recommend dining in. Most oiliest dish I've ever had in my entire life. Mandi goat karahi. And to our shock they charged us for 2 persons for a single order. So 30$ for a single curry. Yes the meat quantity was perfect for 2 people but they should have mentioned this while we order or write it clearly on the menu. Slowest service ever. Only 1 man doing serving, cashier, cleaning and probably cooking? We ordered at home, drove there, still waited a solid 30mins for this dish to arrive. First they gave us chicken Karachi. Then they changed it with goat karahi. The chicken shek kebab: very bland, tasteless, cold, not good at all. Wouldn't recommend. They don't have onions or any lemon on the side too.. Tandoori roti was ok. Should be eaten warm otherwise it gets very hard. Wouldn't go here again. What a disappointing and dissatisfying meal. Wasted calories, appetite and calories. :( read more

We started, of course, with kabobs, and the Chicken Tikka Breast and Tandoori Fish Tikka were lightly spiced, freshly-grilled kabobs, topped with raw sliced tomatoes, white onions, and jalapeños. But my favorite meat was the Gola Kabob, made of heavily spiced ground beef shaped into a log around a skewer. The kabobs came with a green cilantro mint chutney on the side, which added the perfect brightness and freshness to cut through the meat. In addition to the kabobs, we also tried the Palak Paneer, a creamy spinach puree spiced with whole cinnamon sticks and containing cubes of paneer. We also had the fresh naan which you can see being made in the kitchen - they are made to order to expect soft hot bread being served. As an extra we order chicken kebabs too which were soft and moist and again, very flavorful. This is a casual place with booths and tables. The place is clean. There were many families eating there and all had a karahi dish of some kind. It's a counter service place- go to the front where you order and expect a 10 minute wait before your food will be served. The service was great. The young lady at the front explained the dishes care and gave her recommendations. The food here is phenomenal Pakistani cuisine. It's a very casual place, using disposable plates and plastic ware. I had high hopes on this restaurant , since I was very tired wifey wanted to take me out for dinner. So we decided to try khan karahi. Read reviews prior and learnt that service takes time, so ordered over phone and reached in ten minutes. Food was served within 10 minutes. Namakmandi Goat Karahi 2 out of 5 - since we were not aware of the portion size , we placed order for 2 person. It could be easily around 32oz chicken karahi dish. So much meat and the let off was it had so much oil. Not at all appetising. Completely unhealthy from my perspective. If oil is reduced from this dish, I would love it. Chicken Seekh Kebab 1 out of 5 - not at all fresh , very rubbery. I do not recommend this dish. Ordered one whole wheat roti and it was decent. Wanted some onions on the side, but they ran out it seems. Green sauce for kebab was okay. Service was good and the staff obliged to our request's. Ambiance was good nothing much more to comment. Overall this restaurant was not our cup of tea. Went with my pregnant wife, and with the amount of oil in karahi, we were literally feeling pukish. read more

Omg, so guilty of dining here at least once a week, and never thinking of leaving them a review. This is probably because I've come to see the owners as family (bcos of the said weekly visits here), no longer think of this place as a business! Today after probably the thousandth visit I realized I must do on Yelp what I always do. Give a well deserved shout out to the amazing food, and genuinely lovely people who run this business. Most dishes on the menu will find admirers here but our go to over the years have been: -Goat Peshawari Namakmandi Kadahi( special wok preparation) -Same but with chicken -Chapli kabab( beef) -Chicken korma(mild yet super flavorful Chicken curry) -The biryanis -Saag Panner -Naan -And the Kheer ( rice pudding ) The owner Mr. Khan and his oldest, cook, while the other kids serve at this family run establishment. I also love that are open till 10:30pm on weekdays so night owls like us have a place to eat late. Also fair warning: once you try the Peshawari wok here, there may be no turning back. Not sure where to start from.... I'll start with cockroach... Towards the end, several of us and another table found a cockroach on the tea table. The service was horrible, a guy came took the entire order disappeared, then send another guy started taking the order all over because the first guy did not understand a word. They forgot multiple item of our orders, 1. Chaplikabab, 2. Bread, 3. Mango lassi *3, we asked multiple times, waited forever and finally we had to cancel the chaplikabob. The whole place including bathroom, highchairs were filthy, stinky and no soap in the bathroom. Not to mention, they charged one extra item than what we ordered. read more

The food here is incredibly tasty and flavorful, the chicken tikka masala was rich in flavor and had a bit of heat which is something ive been missing in others that ive tried, the mango lassi was the perfect beverage to help cool the palate and prep to take another bite. 10/10 would recommend. read more

Updated review: We got here on a Sunday at 11:15am and waited till the counter was open At 11:30 am to place order for dine in. We placed our order by 11:35 and the guy at counter said 20min order will be ready. We waited and we were going to leave to go to pakwan at 12:40pm since no news of our order and ppl had started coming to pick up their to go orders in between. When we were about to get up and leave at 12:45, our first part of order came out at 12:50. Ridiculous wait time, 1 hour and about 20min for only 4 chicken legs, half namakhandi, and Chana. The counter guy said they had a to go order of a huge party that needs to be cooked first then our food. Dine in customers have preference over to go orders , now I realize what those other reviews meant when they said long wait time here. Heard really good things about this place and thought I would come here with family to give it a try. From the start, my expectations were lowered by A LOT. The main gentleman handling the tables and ordered was quite rude and had a very poor attitude. He was an older gentleman. I asked him what he would recommend and what are the most popular dishes and his response was "why don't you look at the menu first." There were no cups for chai, the to-go containers were oddly shaped styrofoam containers, bathroom was not clean, and overall professionalism and efficiency of kitchen was lacking. I could overhear customers at the counter being upset that they called in orders 30-45 mins ago and yet their food still wasn't ready. You can also see all of the cooks in the kitchen discussing things and to the customer it looks like chaos. With that said, the goat karahi was actually really tasty and spicy. The chicken karahi was not impressive at all. DO NOT order the seekh kabob--it's $4 and you literally get ONE kabob. The chapli kabob was decent. The aloo palak was very tasty. Overall, I wasn't impressed and won't be back. I did see another location opened in Hayward so MAYBE I would give that spot a try but otherwise I'll try other spots. Went with a group of 11 on New Year's Day Jan 1, 2025. No soap in men's bathroom. I told the staff. First waiter took our entire order then got confused and asked his partner to take it again. Long wait for the food. Other customers who came after us seemed to get their food first. When they finally brought the food, they had forgot multiple items from our order. Complimentary tea was constantly empty despite asking them multiple times for it. At the end of the experience, we saw a cockroach in the tea area. Told the staff and they said ok. Since they make the karahi fresh it makes sense that you have time wait but multiple times we got that first snd had to wait for the rest of our stuff. One time they didn't bring our kabab until the end and we were done eating, whenever we asked them about it they said that they will be here soon. I trued multiple times to give this place a solid chance but every single time there is something wrong. Food took forever, I had to ask multiple times and they say almost ready but then folks that sat after us got food first. Finally once we started getting some food they tell us they are out of one of the items after waiting over 45 minutes we didn't care to get another item at that point. Once the main kharahi dish came that we came for it was cold and so was the biriani. Complete disaster. The chicken kabobs tasted odd the naan was burnt or over toasted and the cherry on it all I woke at 4am with runny tummy just to hear my little boy come into my room throwing up all night. It's Friday evening and we decided to order from this place. It's our first time here so we ordered through Doordash. The food was delicious and something different. We ordered two kinds of naan, plain and garlic naan, chicken kadai, chicken tikka masala, tandoori chicken and chicken biryani. Indeed it was delicious. Chicken biryani was good though it was not the usual basmati rice as the rice was a little bigger in size yet, the rice was cooked perfectly without sticking to each other. It was good.
