This review is long overdue, but I feel obligated to share our experience so other families know what to expect from Kabob Fusion. My family and I, two adults and two young children, came here during Ramadan for iftaar. Before arriving, I specifically called ahead to ask whether we needed to come early because I understood restaurants can become very busy during iftaar time. I was told that arriving 10 to 15 minutes before iftaar would be perfectly fine and that our food would be ready around the time of breaking fast. Based on that reassurance, we came about 20 minutes before iftaar expecting a smooth experience. Instead, the moment we walked in, it felt like we were invisible. The restaurant was crowded but not chaotic. We sat down and waited while servers walked past us repeatedly without acknowledging us. Eventually, I had to flag someone down myself just to place an order. I even asked directly how long the food would take because we were fasting all day and had two small children with us. The server confidently assured us the food would arrive around iftaar time. That never happened. When iftaar finally arrived, all we received were dates and water. No appetizers, no main dishes, nothing. We continued waiting while table after table around us received their food. Meanwhile, our children became increasingly upset and hungry. Anyone with young kids knows that after a full day of fasting, asking them to wait another 20, 30, even 50 minutes is nearly impossible. Our kids were crying, exhausted, and confused as they watched other families eat while we sat there with empty plates. What made the situation worse was the complete lack of honesty and accountability. Every time we asked about our order, we were told, "It's coming soon." Then eventually the server disappeared entirely for nearly 20 minutes and avoided us altogether. A woman later approached us, but instead of apologizing or taking our concerns seriously, she became dismissive and defensive. By this point, nearly 50 minutes had passed since we ordered, and she still insisted we "shouldn't complain" (in Farsi) because the food would come "soon." That response was honestly more upsetting than the delay itself. A simple apology, honesty, or basic compassion toward a fasting family with small children would have gone a long way. We eventually left the restaurant feeling humiliated, disrespected, and deeply disappointed. What saddened me most is that this happened during Ramadan, a month centered around patience, generosity, hospitality, and good character. In Afghan culture and Islamic ethics, guests are supposed to be treated with dignity and care, especially during iftaar. Halal is not only about the food being permissible. Halal is also about honesty, fairness, respect, and how people are treated. Sadly, this restaurant failed in all of those areas. We will never return, and I cannot recommend this place to anyone looking for respectful service or a welcoming family environment. read more

This place has an identity problem. It presents itself as an Afghan restaurant, but half the menu feels completely out of place--quesadillas, salmon burgers, chicken wings, calamari, Texas burgers, unusual drinks, popsicles, and seemingly anything readily available from Restaurant Depot. The oversized, unfocused menu lowers the overall quality and takes away from the restaurant's authenticity. The service was also extremely sluggish. We had to clean our own table and wait in line just to place our order. We chose Afghan dishes from the confusing menu, and they were actually good. This spot was so delicious! We ordered the combo plate (gyro + chicken) and a side of fries and it was more than enough for the both of us. The chicken was so tender and flavorful while the gyro was thinly sliced, juicy, and garlicky/herby. The rice was fluffy and the pita was soft and warm. What a lovely family owned business. This restaurant has a great location on a corner in Fremont. It was my first time here so I tried the combination platter. The dish was very vibrant and colorful. Shoutout to the chef! The spice level was nice and I enjoyed the side salad, a great balance to the plate. The protein was well seasoned and the service was attentive. The yogurt sauce was so good I needed extra. Delicious meal. The best part is they have complimentary hot tea on the side and it was a great way to end the meal. Parents were in town and felt like hummus and kebabs so I came to Kabob Fusion to get takeout for lunch. I showed up a little after 11 on a Tuesday and they weren't fully prepared and opened so I waited maybe 5 more minutes before going in and checking if they received my online order. In that time the smell of cleaning product had disappeared more and all the chairs were moved off the tables and into their proper places to start the day. It took about 25 minutes to make everything and it smelled amazing the whole car ride home. For 3 orders of food it's normally too much for us. Here even though the size looks big there isn't a lot of content. It's close to much I normally eat but I'm sure others will find the portion size too small. Instead of going for a combo we did individual orders of koobideh, chicken, and gyro, if you are sharing I think this is the best way to get more quantity. The chicken was dry but strangely tasty. The koobideh was my favorite by far, great grill and beefy taste. The rice in all of them was cooked well, moist and glistening, I could eat that by itself and be satisfied. Delicious! I ordered a chicken wrap to go. The chicken was well seasoned, and most importantly, moist and tender. The pita bread was fresh, not dry and stiff as at other restaurants. The service was friendly. It was my first visit and I was welcomed warmly. The restaurant was busy serving both dine-in and take-out customers. The last time we were here it was called Blaze, so it's time for an updated review. There certainly is a wide blend of various cuisines. It seems that the food leans more towards Indian than before. For example, their chicken wrap before was more Greek flavor, whereas their chicken wrap now tastes like Tandoori chicken. It's still good, but I personally prefer the Greek style. What we ordered: + Chicken quesadilla - good but a bit greasy. The chicken was Tandoori chicken and it was very cheesy. + Chicken wrap - very large with Tandoori chicken + Greek salad - no complaints + Chicken wings - pretty spicy but good + Soup (special) - they were running a special soup for a holiday (darn I can't remember the name of the soup or the holiday), but it was good. I love a halal chicken rice plate and I must say this is pretty damn good. 4.5/5. I had a quick pit stop here on the way to a movie in Fremont, otherwise I don't commute much to Fremont from Mountain View. Tender, juicy, extremely well marinated (love the spice and flavor) chicken. Really good portions. The white sauce drizzle was just about right and not over the top. Spicy sauce was just ok. Good flavor on the rice. Comes with hummus, pita and salad as you can see in the picture. Well plated up! The service was pretty quick (around closing time) and they were nice enough to ask me the sauces I wanted on the plate. That's always great. Restaurant is spacious. Complex has a grocery store and another restaurant too. Parking along with the complex and also on the street outside on the side of the restaurant. First timer. I had high hopes due to the reviews. I ordered the koubideh entree and a greek salad. The koubideh was good but the rest was meh. The rice was oily and seemed not fully cooked. The salad that was included was a small wedge of iceberg lettuce and a couple of tomato slices, the humus was just ok. The greek salad I ordered was spring mix, peppers, kalamata olives, and 2 slices of cucumber. They did not put any feta on the salad. Disappointed. read more

Couldn't decide between the various tantalizing options for kabab platters, I don't even know the difference between their persian spices vs mediterranean spices vs afghani spices, making it hard to choose.... I eventually settled on the gyro wrap with a side of fries, a simpler dish, but I have no regrets. I didn't want the tzatziki sauce so the staff offered me garlic sauce instead... had no idea what it was but thought why not. It was sooo good! Large meaty pieces of beef, juicy and flavorful, fresh veggies, and just a drizzle of that garlic sauce, it was made perfectly. And the fries had such a clean taste, like they made it from scratch, could really taste the potato and it wasn't oily but also not dry, plus it came unsalted which I appreciated, so I could add salt and pepper at the table to my liking. The restaurant was clean and bright, and offered more seating than I expected even for a small space, two different sections for guests (the dining room sort of L-shaped), plus a couple tables outside. Ordering at the front counter for dine-in was quick and easy, efficient service with a smile. My food was prepared in less than 10 minutes, brought out to my table, ready to enjoy. A Gem in Fremont - Kebab Fusion with Milan Sadiq, Manager While passing through Fremont, my husband and I were lucky enough to discover Kebab Fusion, and we're already planning our next visit. From the moment we walked in, we were struck by how immaculately clean the restaurant was--sparkling chandeliers, polished surfaces, a welcome hot tea, and clean tables. The attention to detail in the atmosphere was a perfect match for the food that followed. The fact that it is Hilal made us feel good about knowing the meats and fish would be top quality. We were warmly welcomed by Milan Sadiq, the manager, whose hospitality set the tone for a memorable meal. Every dish was prepared with care and full of flavor. My husband had the ribeye garlic fries, and they were absolutely cooked to perfection--crispy, tender, and seasoned just right. I ordered the Greek salad with grilled salmon, and it was one of the best I've had. The salmon was succulent and perfectly seared, and the salad itself was vibrant and balanced with olives, feta, banana peppers, cucumbers, and a flavorful house dressing. The warm, fresh pita alongside it was a comforting touch. We also learned the chef has a background in Italian cuisine, so be sure not to miss the pasta special--a unique and delicious fusion twist you won't find anywhere else. We've already recommended Kebab Fusion to several friends in the area, and although we were just passing through on the way to Sacramento, we'll be making a special trip back just to dine here again. I always have a hard time trying to find GOOD koobideh and so happy to have found this place before I left the Bay Area! As we have moved to another state, my heart is dying a little bit because I really miss this spot. It's a tiny little mom and pop shop but they give A LOT for the price you pay and the ingredients are quality! The place is pretty casual and you order your food up at the front and choose a place to sit at. They do offer yummy burgers here as well so if you're not feeling Middle Eastern food, that's always an option to try. Don't walk, RUN to Kabob Fusion. My partner and I were looking for a restaurant that opens late on a Friday night and we were so blessed to discover this gem. The staff is so warm and welcomes you like family. The menu is concise and offers photos which help with decision making. We ordered the combo plate and the gyro wrap and hnnnnnghhh it's so good...like so so good. The gyro is grilled to perfection, soft and flavorful and not overly salty. Everything is really made with passion, I know this staff cares about feeding their customers well. Highly recommend this joint in Fremont.
