Absolutely loved Zareen's! The service was amazing and everyone was incredibly welcoming. The food has a modern presentation, but the flavors still taste authentic and delicious. Prices are pretty average for the area, and the quality is definitely worth it. I'll absolutely be coming back!

I came again to Zareen's for dinner and had a great time! My partner and I wanted to share the chicken tikka masala with garlic naan, and we also got some samosas and a wrap. Inside has good seating, and the outdoor area is beautiful as well. Service was good for the most part, though we did need to call our server multiple times to get their attention. The food was outstanding, I love the sauces that accompanied the table. The chicken tikka masala was flavorful, and I loved the roti wrap. I wished the samosas were bigger, but otherwise I had a good time!

Gets busy but typically not a long wait in my opinion. Paring structure around the corner. Great for family sit down. I tried the plate with chicken tikka thali which came with a chickpea side, veggies, and side naan bread. I wished there was more chicken but the flavors were there and everything smelled so good. I paid $2-3 extra for garlic naan bread which was good but I don't know if it was worth it. This place is located alongside other shops so super easy to walk around and check out other shops or event grab some dessert/boba. I would come here again and try their other dishes.

Affordable Michelin-recommended spot in Palo Alto that's perfect for a casual meal. Parking was easy with free street parking. The vibe is fast-casual with limited indoor seating, but there's plenty of outdoor seating with umbrellas, including overflow tables set up along the sidewalk. You order and pay at the counter, get a number, and the food is brought to your table. Everything we tried was delicious. The grilled chicken boti sizzler and chicken tikka thali both had incredibly tender, flavorful chicken. The garlic naan was warm and fluffy, and the mango lassi was thick, refreshing, and not overly sweet. Portions were generous for the price. Fun fact: Zareen's was founded by Karachi native Zareen Khan, who even bought a house in Menlo Park to rent to her employees at an affordable rate because of Silicon Valley's high cost of living. It's easy to see why this flagship location earned Michelin Guide recognition.

Have tried Zareen's a bunch of times over the years. It is quite a popular brand in bay area and they have multiple locations now. Personally , as a vegetarian, I have not been very impressed with the food. The flavors are often mild and hence haven't found any dishes that may entice me to visit it more often. Recently I felt like having their weekend special halwa puri brunch thali - It is a platter consisting of Chana ( garbanzo beans curry ) , Poori ( fried indian bread ) , Halwa ( semolina based sweet dish ) Also tried the Silver spoon wrap with the Paneer ( cheese ) option. The wrap was very sloppily made, in my opinion. The bread used to wrap the ingredients had soaked up the paneer gravy and was not easy to eat. Would have been better if they only added marinated paneer pieces .

A friendly staff and clean environment make such an amazing experience, but sensational food makes the experience so complete. Zareen's is one of the best Pakistani establishments in the Bay Area, across all its locations, it delivers consistency and amazing flavors. You're missing out if you don't get the tikka masala, all the different types of naan, are incredible, and the chicken samosa is Michelin recommended. Zareen's is to die for , and I wish I lived closer

Zareens was incredible! Had heard so many great things and they all lived up to the hype. The flavors were all so good - we ordered paneer tikka masala, tadka daal, and palak methi aloo. The jalapeño cheese naan (not pictured) was also so delicious. Service was not bad for how busy it was on a Friday evening! The ambiance is really lively and a nice vibe and there's plenty of seating both inside and outside.

Holy crap this is the best Indian food I've ever had. My wife went to Stanford for school and she mentioned "Hey lets try this Indian restaurant I ate at like 7 years ago when I lived here." Who knew she ate like a queen when she was in school. We ordered: 1. Chicken Tikka Masala Ala Carte: Holy crap this was soooo good. There are huge pieces of chicken in the curry which is grilled over charcoal. You can taste the amazing flavor of the grill mixed with the extremely creamy rich curry was the best combo I've ever had. I eat Indian food all the time but this was unique and better than any other Chicken Masala I've ever had. 2. Chicken Memoni Samosas: I thought this was just okay. It was good but not the best Samosas I've had. I felt like it was average. Lots of filling and freshly fried crispy outside. 3. Curry Dish: My wife ordered another curry dish but I can't remember the name. It's in the photos I posted. This curry was also really good. It was more spicy than the Tikka Masala but again very flavorful 4. Plain naan: SOOO GOOD! Super light and really generous in size. Def worth the price for a whole one. We got 2x with rice for 4 people and it was more than enough. Overall, this is a must try if you're in the area. Lots of indoor or outdoor seating. Really good service and good. They were very attentive without being overbearing. Kept refilling my water since I kept drinking up the entire water container since the curry was so spicy.

I missed this place so much!!! The ambiance is great everyone was chatting and having a great time enjoying themselves. There's plenty of space and lots of seats both inside and outside the restaurant. The service was excellent. Our server was really sweet to us. It was a little chilly outside and our server brought a heater and put it right next to me so I wouldn't get cold. :) The food was immaculate. My favorite is definitely the grilled chicken boti sizzler. The garlic naan was very fresh and the texture was perfect and soft on the inside. The samosa was a great touch was filled with a lot of meat and cooked to perfection. The chicken biryani was calm but nothing to write home about. The tikki masala was great but we left so full! I love this place and I can't wait to come back then next time I visit the Bay!

Finally got around to trying Zareen's! Stopped by on a Thursday evening, and the place was packed, which was a great sign. We ordered the chicken tikka masala, garlic naan, biryani, and chicken samosas, and every dish was flavorful and delicious. The staff was welcoming and friendly, making the whole experience even better. If you're looking for great Indian food, I'd definitely recommend checking this spot out. I'll definitely be back!

Somehow I've never been to Zareen's until recently, but I'm glad I was finally able to go!! Everything was delicious and absolutely met the hype of the restaurant. The garlic naan is very tasty, and every dish was excellent. Extremely flavorful. We also got the mango and rose soft serve after even though we were stuffed. They were very good and not too sweet. I definitely need to go back sometime soon!

Highlights: * Good service * Energetic ambiance * Food okay, though I only ordered two things Food: - Naan - good, no notes - Beef Chapli Burger (8/10) - with the disclaimer that I requested the jalapeno peppers on the side, the patty was a little dry. Though overall I enjoyed the spicy Chapli beef. I wish I had time to order more items, and more authenic items, but with a short window to eat, this was fine. Service I didn't have a lot of time to eat and I appreciate the service was relatively quick.

If you are searching for delicious Pakistani food with cool aesthetic vibes, this is the place! Went for dinner on Saturday evening and this place was buzzing with people. We ordered dahi papri chaat (slightly sweeter than expected but nonetheless tasty, and their green chutney compensated for it), chicken samosa (okayish, have had better, the crust was very oily and the stuffing not as flavorful), potato wrap/alu roll (blander than expected, can definitely use more spices), chicken boti sizzler (very tender pieces, good flavors, tasty), firni (loved it, first time having it here, slightly gooey and sweeter compared to the ones we got in Kolkata, this dish triggered nostalgia). We really wanted to order their biryani but they were out of it (as well as the pulao) so it was a mood killer. Overall very good experience! Prompt service despite being super busy.

Is the gravy base for your chicken kofta dairy-free?

It has some yogurt so not dairy free.

Which chicken dishes are white meat breast?

Our beef is local from Harris Ranch and Lamb is grass fed Australian. Both are humanely raised and hand slaughtered. Our Chicken is halal but not hand slaughtered.

Can you no longer order online for same day (PaloAlto)?

Just this weekend as we are expecting to get very busy on Eid weekend. So sorry!

Are they really cooking with charcoal, I don't see any charcoal in the restaurant and they appear to be grilling with a gas grill? The menu says the chicken is charcoal grilled. Food still good either way.

No. They use a gas grill. The food doesn't taste like charcoal used when barbecuing. The food is excellent. You might ask them if you're curious. They are very friendly and helpful.

    Do they have gluten free?

Yes, but limited. Kabobs and rice and most curries you will be safe. They are very knowledgeable about the ingredients so don't be afraid to try.

Do you take reservations for a group of 10? (During lunch hours (say 11:30am to 1pm)

No reservations here, to my knowledge.

Is there an 11% Dine In charge? If so, why? Is there an X% Take Out charge?

Yes, it's essentially equivalent to a tip since the waiters are delivering the food and cleanings the tables. I don't believe there is a takeout charge but I've only dined in.

Till what time is halwa puri served on weekends?

From 11:30am to 3pm in Saturday’s and Sunday’s. Given the intensely high demand for Halwa Puri, we do occasionally run short by 2:30p.

[[ Parking ]] I personally think parking is pretty difficult in general in the downtown Palo Alto Area. It's near an indoor parking area (first 2 floors are non-permit parking), outside parking lot, and lots of street parking. However, when we went almost everything was full. I luckily one open street parking spot and luckily my car is super compact and I was able to squeeze in. I probably would be more stressed if I were driving a large SUV or large sedan. [[ Restaurant / Service ]] I thought the restaurant was pretty beautiful inside and in a good location (corner side). They have plenty of seats that look outside and also a ton of indoor seating in case you want more privacy. - One con was that we were seating in a I guess a "bad booth"? It was in the corner and the padding seemed to have sunken in so I had pretty bad support the whole meal. I got use to at the end but next time I'll just choose a chair. Service was really good. Our server checked in frequently, filled our waters, and was relatively attentive. No complaints here. [[ Food ]] I thought the presentation was beautiful for each dish and there was some standout things: 1.) The complimentary bread had delicious butter and mint/cilantro sauce(?) Not 100% sure but it tasted really good. Unlimited bread too as we gobbled up the first round pretty quickly. 2.) If you get a steak (which I hope you do), I love the little flamethrower presentation when they melt the butter on top of your steak. I thought that was a nice "wow" touch for the dining experience. 3.) I really enjoyed the crab cakes and thought the balance of taste and cook was on the spot and gave a really strong start to the rest of the meal. The okay things: 1.) Surprisingly the steaks were just okay in my opinion. Don't get me wrong, they taste good but I wasn't blown away by either the filet mignon or the dry-aged rib eye. It's solid steaks but nothing too memorable. 2.) The sides in my opinion were a let down. The Mac & Cheese was SOO watery. I took a picture of how much liquid was after getting through the top layer. I wish it was more melted/gooey-ness cheese rather than the watery consistency. The truffle fries were alright but my wife wish it had more truffle taste. [[ Conclusion ]] Great business place to get food as well as a nice dine-out experience. It's a solid place.

We ordered a few dishes, starting with the raw oysters with fermented chili sauce and curry leaf ponzu sauce. The shellfish was extremely fresh, and the condiments were refreshing and complemented it perfectly. I particularly loved the ponzu sauce, it was so zesty! We also ordered the jackfruit sliders, and they honestly gave major Mumbai Vada Pav vibes. They were spicy and extremely flavorful; I almost forgot it was jackfruit! The ananas (Pineapple) pani puri was a refreshing flavor bomb! For mains, we got the black truffle cheese naan with cultured butter. I loved the butter; the naan was filled with cheese, and the truffles weren't prominently earthy; hence, they added a touch of umami. We also got the Kali Miri paneer with garlic naan, along with the lamb and squash with quinoa pulao. The paneer and naan were probably the most classic-tasting dish on the table and were deliciously prepared. The lamb and squash were equally good, but the quinoa pulao was the real star, a little spicy and super minty. We also got the dosa, which was good, but it got a bit overshadowed by the other fantastic dishes. The little diner with us got the French toast with jaggery syrup and passion fruit ricotta ice cream, which he totally devoured. While I did not taste the French toast, I did sample the ricotta ice cream, and it was light, fruity, sweet, and slightly tart, but delicious nonetheless. The presentation wasn't performative or chaotic; it was stunning and minimalist. Also, shoutout to Chef Srijith Gopinathan for his distinct take on modern contemporary Indian Cuisine. The menu seems to have changed quite a bit from 2 years ago as I could not find most of the items old reviews on Yelp were referring to lol. So I had to mostly go with my gut feeling: the fried chicken (which is one of this place's signatures), the lamb shank and brisket (shocking to find beef in an Indian restaurant). By the way the manager dropped by and took our order: very patient, very kind, and knowledgeable (you bet) about the menu. The brisket was ordered per manager's recommendation. The starch that comes with the main dishes can be swapped out to your liking. Lamb shank: 5/5. Perfectly cooked, interestingly flavored. I particularly enjoyed the sauce. Finished it all. Fried chicken: 4.5/5. Tasty, flavorful, pairs well with the yogurt sauce that comes with it. Portion is on the small side so beware if you are sharing with over 4 people. Brisket: 2.5/5. The flavor is on point. The sauce that comes with it is good too. But the meat is a bit too dry or stringy for my taste. Perhaps I was too hyped and it did not live up to my expectations. Portion is pretty decent though. Overall I really enjoyed the environment and service here. Seems like a perfect place for business gatherings or special events. At this price point my bar for 5 star would be higher and unfortunately this place did not meet that bar this time. By the way, the waiter kindly offered to provide kid's menu options that are non-spicy as most of the items on the regular menu are spicy to some extent. We liked it hot but the little ones not so much.

As much as Mazra is great at/known for their meats, they also put so much thought and care into their vegetables. For example, our favorite mezza is their Whole Cauliflower, which is a massive cauliflower head that's roasted and then coated with a lemon tahini dressing. (They also give you more lemon to squeeze on it.) The cauliflower always comes out perfectly roasted; the inner parts are tender and toothsome, while the outer parts are crispy and a deep, golden brown. Another great vegetable option is their Veggie Plate, which is a plate overflowing with delights on a bed of their rice: falafel; a segment of their cauliflower; roasted broccoli and potatoes; their saffron mushrooms; and a halloumi roll. Each item is about as perfect as can be, and the sheer quantity makes it a fantastic deal. Of course, we still love their shawarma plates, which you can get with either chicken or steak shawarma. The meat comes thinly cut and tender, and somehow still a bit juicy! The plates are also a great value, since they come with a ton of great items that pair well with the meat. These include a rich, savory sauce (toum [garlic sauce] with the chicken, tahini with the steak) and two of their amazing sides. My favorite sides are the baba ghannoush (creamy and earthy) and their fries (golden, crispy, and pillowy). They continue improving the space, too. The pickup window makes it so much easier to get takeout, and they've really dialed in the flow of the inside and back courtyard seating areas.

The spanakopita was delicate and the layers were perfection. The crisp was unbelievable. The flatbread pretty much deserves its own review, that's how delicious it was. It was hands down my favorite! The lamb chops were that melt-in-your-mouth delicacy that makes you happy to have taste buds! Unfortunately, I do not recommend the meatballs. They were really bland, lacking any seasoning (including salt). The disappointment was real, but it's hard to remain disappointed when everything else was beyond tasty. Oh - this is a me thing - I don't think I'll ever order a Greek coffee again. I found out that I like my coffee 100% liquid, no shadow of coffee grounds to be found... So, in essence, not Greek coffee. Now as to the dessert, I almost did a happy dance! I had the yogurt sorbet, which was delicate, flavorful, and a memorable delight. Service was phenomenal. I left too full, happy as a clam, and excited to write them a well-deserved 5-star review

Evvia is probably the expensive Greek restaurant I've ever eaten at, fortunately it was for a work…read moreevent so I didn't have to pay! My colleagues weren't as hungry as me, nor have my crazy metabolism, so I almost had a full portion of each! Ambience feels like you're in someone's upscale Greek chic interior designed home, nice but not pretentious. Staff was excellent! $13 Taramosalata, Tirokafteri, Melitzanosalata, Tzatziki - with housemade grilled pitas...a trifecta of different Mediterranean dips, perfect paired with the warm fresh pitas. $21 Anginares Souvlaki - grilled artichokes & eggplant skewer with Greek yogurt...great grilled veggies! $21 Octapodaki tou Yiorgou - traditional grilled octopus with lemon, oregano & olive oil. I honestly feel a little guilty eating these intelligent beautiful creatures, and I normally don't like octopus, but no one else was really eating it, so I didn't want to waste it...and may the Greek God Poseidon, King Triton, and Princess Ariel forgive me...but this was pretty darn good? The meat was tender, almost chicken like, easily chewed. Nice char and seasoning... $17 Horiatiki - classic Greek salad of tomatoes, cucumbers, green pepper, red onion, oregano, olives & feta...simple but fresh and good for vitamins, fiber, and your bowel movements. $33 Moussaka - baked casserole with eggplant, lamb & beef ragoût, potatoes & yogurt béchamel...I have not liked Mossaka, until now! This was darn good that I am now lover. So meaty and cheesy! $35 Kotopoulo Souvlas - lemon-oregano rotisserie chicken with garlic broccolini & Evvia potatoes...nice roasted crispy chicken skin well seasoned, with juicy, succulent white meat...so good! $58 Arnisia Paidakia* - rib-cut, mesquite-grilled lamb chops with olive oil lemon roasted potatoes. BEST LAMB CHOPS OF MY LIFE! The lamb is so tender, gamy, flavorful, with a nice char with all the secret spices. $16 Galaktoboureko...phyllo wrapped vanilla bean semolina custard with pistachio ice cream...excellent! $16 Baklava...large baklava drizzled with honey syrup served with vanilla ice cream...traditional and terrific! I think I ate about $150 in food, and $100 worth of wine and Ouzo...thank gawd I wasn't paying!

Overall: 4 stars…read more Always tasty on Uber Eats, so have been meaning to try this restaurant in person for a while and finally got around to it. Owned by a winner of a reality cooking competition, it makes sense why it is priced at a premium, and with that follows pleasantly attentive service, innovative dishes, and comfy seating. I found the food to be generally pleasant, and the only thing that is unpleasant is their proximity to the train station that interrupts conversation on an intervalized basis. Old Siam - I see the vision of this luxury take on an old fashioned, which is flavorally accurate. I think the garnish is a bit too simple beyond the block ice to properly convey that look. Roti Mataba - Intriguing dish as I've never seen roti used to encapsulate before, but its smart as it creates a flaky exterior that pairs incredibly well with the curry sauce. Pad See Ew - Large portion of a classic dish that is served on the lighter side but still tasty. I would clean up on the presentation though. Mango Sticky Rice - Beautiful arrangement of mango sticky rice that shows great knife skills of the mango. You can see the heart shape starting to form of the sticky rice as well, which is beautiful. I think it coild be even more advantageous to use rose to dye for a more warming color palette.
