    Mutton Biryani
    Ester L.

Got the mutton biryani and it's $20 well spent. I was surprised when I took it out because it was seriously hefty. Weighed it and it's THREE POUNDS EXACTLY. Two hours since purchasing and it was still hot, and flavor was great. Super fragrant and just a little spicy. Got the food in like seven minutes and the person working the counter was very respectful. The inside is clean, no smell of food while I was waiting.

Tried a mix of appetizers and biryanis/mandi. Appetizers were fine. The Chicken Dum Biryani was really good -- flavorful and worth ordering again. Chicken 65 Biryani was just okay. The Chicken Mandi, though... total miss. Super dry and no flavor. On the upside, the Irani chai was great and the fruit cream totally hit the spot. Overall, some hits and some big misses.

Chowrasta comes across as a good alternative to Deccan morsels style restaurants. It's more hygienic and has a better vibe but we were disappointed on the main segment - food taste :). Majestic chicken had a strong scent of turmeric, likely this ingredient was used too much, nevertheless it did have an effect on the taste. On the other hand, the chicken 65 had more red color than needed. Both starters weren't that good. The biryani was good, it had a good balance of masala and the chicken was cooked well. I'd likely come back again only for the biryani - will do a take out and skip the hassle of dining in, which is what we did today and didn't like at all. The food comes in to-go boxes anyway, might as well bring it home and eat:).

The chicken sticks and zafrani chai ! Very good !

What a disappointment. Terrible unappetising not good at all. I'd give it 0 stars if possible. I am from Hyderabad so this is not authentic at all. Both mutton and chicken biryani was bad. No flavor at all. Chicken 65 has so much vinegar in it. The desserts are also mediocre. The tables are cheap, low quality and was moving the entire time. Cheap chairs. No cutlery, they gave the cheapest plastic spoons. Cheap plates, plastic cups for water. They serve in Togo box to the tables. I would recommend not to visit and waste your money. Too pricey for the service taste and quality.

A friend said their butter chicken is good. I tried their Fred chicken sticks and they were very tough - I couldn't finish them.

If you're looking for authentic Hyderabadi food that's full of heart, flavor, and warm hospitality -- Chowrasta is an absolute must-visit. This place isn't just another restaurant; it feels like a culinary passion project. The owner, a chemical engineer turned chef, has poured his soul into bringing his mother's traditional recipes to life. And trust me -- you can taste love and legacy in every single bite. What We Tried (and loved!):     *    Chicken Sticks - Juicy, perfectly spiced, and grilled just right. It was my first time trying this particular flavor and it blew me away. A definite must-try!     *    Talawa Gosht - A Hyderabadi classic done to perfection. Tender, thin slices of meat with crispy edges and layers of spice. So addictive -- we couldn't stop picking at it.     *    Chicken 65 - Crispy, tangy, spicy -- exactly what you'd expect from this iconic street food, but with a gourmet twist.     *    Majestic Chicken - Creamy, mildly spiced, and totally unique. It's got this rich, comforting flavor that makes it stand out from your typical Indian chicken dishes.     *    Chef's Special Chicken Curry - This one's comfort in a bowl. Rich and aromatic without being heavy, with perfectly cooked chicken and a balanced blend of spices. You'll be thinking about this curry long after the meal is over.     *    Mutton Biryani - Honestly, one of the best biryanis I've had in the Bay Area. Fragrant rice, tender mutton, and a beautiful balance of flavors -- not greasy, not overwhelming, just spot-on.     *    Irani Chai - Smooth, milky, slightly sweet -- the perfect way to wrap up a hearty meal. One of the highlights of the evening? The owner himself came out to chat with us. He walked us through the story behind each dish, how it's prepared, and what makes it special. You can tell he's truly passionate about the food he's serving -- and rightly so. The staff was also incredibly warm and attentive, making the whole experience feel homely and welcoming. It's rare to find a spot where passion meets precision, but Chowrasta pulls it off beautifully. The flavors are bold but balanced, the ingredients are fresh, and there's a genuine soul to the cooking that's hard to come by. If you love Indian food -- or just good food, this spot will leave you planning your next visit before you've even finished dessert.

We did a takeout. The food was ready in 10 minutes and the food items were hot when we picked them up. Decor: Simple, elegant and clean. They have an outdoor patio as well. It looked good. Service: Friendly staff. They told us that they were going to add vegetarian items to the menu. Food: DAAicious. Mutton biryani was really good and definitely of higher quality compared to the other biryani places in Fremont. Perfectly cooked meat with flavorful rice. It's a must try item. The biryani came with mirch ka salang which was soooo good. They should add this Salang as a veggie item. Their Haleem is the best one I've tasted in the Bay Area. Chicken 65 came with Rumali roti. Rumali roti was thin and soft. My kids loved it. I'm definitely going back to try out their kabobs and other items.

This review is more of a 4.5 stars approximated to 5. I have been wanting to visit this new-ish place for a few weeks now and I'm glad I finally got a chance. The place was mostly empty when we visited around 8:15pm on a Friday evening - surprising considering how good all the food was. There was ample street parking right outside the restaurant as well as nearby. The first thing that caught my attention upon entering was the charming aesthetics of the place - really liked what they did with the place. Ordering is at the counter after which you can choose any empty table, and the food will be brought out to you. The staff at the counter was very informative and nicely explained the specials, what dishes were readily available and what would involve a wait. We went with the mutton haleem, rumali rotis, mutton biriyani and some irani chai. Everything was great. The creamy haleem and hot rumali rotis came out first and wowed us. These are definitely the best or one of the best rumali rotis/breads in the bay area - thin like handkerchiefs, yet soft and tasty. The mutton biriyani involved a long wait but the timing worked out perfectly for us. By the time we were done with the haleem, we were served with a box of fresh, hot, fragrant biriyani. We were totally taken aback by how good the biriyani was. Such delicately spiced subtle flavors are hard to come by in the bay area. I'll definitely be back for the food here. The only thing I didn't like is the food being served in to-go boxes and having to eat biriyani using plastic-ware; it felt jarring and misaligned with the rest of the dining experience which was so royal - the food and the ambience.

I moved out towards…read morethis neck of the words and was searchin' searchin' searchin', and my thirsty heart led me to here! --- F O O D & D R I N K S --- The first drink I had at Qamaria was the Pistachio Latte with oatmilk and whewwww... easily the best pistachio latte I've ever had. The pistachio flavor tastes rich and legit without being overly sweet or covering up the coffee. A lot of pistachio drinks at other spots taste like artificial syrup, but this one is smooth, balanced, and actually complements the espresso. I also love seeing that deep green color in the clear cups--it just looks so aesthetic and makes the drink feel even more authentic. Honestly, 9 out of 10 times, this is what I'm ordering. If it's your first time here, PLEASE get it. Thankfully my husband is always down to be adventurous and order something different so we can still guarantee at least one pistachio latte on the table lol. His go-to is the Qamaria Latte with oatmilk, sometimes with cold foam. It sounds simple--espresso, steamed milk, cardamom, and cinnamon--but it tastes like comfort in a cup. The cardamom and cinnamon make it feel warm, cozy, and layered without punching you in the face with sugar. Nothing tastes artificial here. Everything feels intentional and made with care. Also, whether you dine in or take it to-go, the drinks always look cute. I LOVE the dine-in presentation though. The iced drinks come in clear glass cups so you can see all the layers, and the hot drinks come in these thick ceramic mugs that make the experience feel extra cozy. And I'm such a sucker for their tray setup too--everything matches the aesthetic so well and makes coffee dates here feel extra special. And don't even get me started on the milk cakes because they are dangerously good. My fave is the Biscoff milk cake. It's super soft, creamy, rich, and has the perfect caramelized cookie flavor without being too sweet. It paired sooo well with the warm spices in the coffee. _______________________________________________________ --- S E R V I C E --- Each barista I ever had was kind and super chill. I never felt rushed and they took their time answering questions. It sounds pretty simple but I feel like even with how busy it can get, they pace themselves accordingly behind the counter so that they are intentional and patient with their customers, and work in a consistent pace that gets drinks done in time and hands them off with care. Very contrast to a cafe where baristas are working so fast-paced that their interactions are short and it feels like that they just want to get the drink over with and passed off to the customer. It all goes back to Qamaria's baristas being intentional with the way that they work. Keep doin' your thing y'all. Love the flow. _______________________________________________________ --- A M B I A N C E -- It's funny because the first time my husband and I pulled up was after dinner on a Friday night. He was feenin' for coffee and was like, "What's even open this late?" Yoooo, finding out Qamaria Yemeni Coffee was open until 1 AM on Fridays and Saturdays instantly made us happy because now we got a late-night spot whenever the cravings hit. Most nights they're open until midnight too, which is dangerous lol. And let me tell you... this place gets CRACKIN'. We came around 10:30 PM and the line was out the door, but I'm so glad we stayed because the drinks changed our life. Even on a random weekday when I met up with a homegirl, we looked up from yappin' for hours and suddenly the line was wrapped outside again. Trust--it's worth the wait. The inside is warm, modern, and culturally rich without feeling forced or overly trendy. The arches, lighting, patterned seating, earthy tones, and artwork make the whole space feel cozy and intentional. Even when it's packed, it still feels welcoming and communal--honestly just proof this is THE spot to be no matter the time of day. People are studying, catching up with friends and fam, working, or just vibing over coffee, and it somehow all works together perfectly. It's the type of café that makes you want to slow down and stay awhile instead of grabbing your drink and leaving.
