One of my worst restaurants experiences ever server looked so upset and angry on something. Not welcoming or even single smile i felt she is over exhausted. She missed two of the orders we had a business meeting here 6 people and they didn't even bother to put right food in front of the person who ordered it just leave it there at the front of table and run back to the kitchen. We've never had khinkali before - our waitress was so helpful in making suggestions and explaining how to eat these delicious Georgian dumplings. We had the boiled beef, fried cheese, and boiled mushroom khinkali, along with some appetizers (highly recommend the Georgian cheese bread). The boiled beef were definitely my favorite - so much flavor. Cocktails were super fun. The desserts were delicious too. The staff were so helpful in making suggestions and helping us figure out what we wanted as it was our first time eating Georgian food. Nice place - pretty casual, but with a good atmosphere. We ordered Mediterranean salad Blinchik (meat) Meat khinkali (both boiled and fried) mushroom veggies skewer khachapouri I like everything but the khachapouri was a bit too much. What i mean is too little bread for too much cheese but for cheeselover's its a great food item on the menu. The total for all that food was under $50 !!! That is very reasonable for quality and fresh food and TRUST ME we were realllly full. I will be back for sure to try more items on the menu. read more

Mad respect they're bringing this super specific foreign food to LA, but it's still a bit plain. I went with a co-worker who was Ukrainian or something and this reminded her of her grandma. We got some boiled dumplings and and some fried ones. Ones with some cheese in it and ones with some beef in it. It was just odd we kinda had to get the sour cream to make them taste good. The food was delicious and fresh. They did have music playing but it wasn't so loud that you couldn't have a conversation. They have indoor and outdoor seating. We were seated immediately. Our server was super pleasant and made recommendations which I appreciated. There were other employees that I did feel rude when I asked for utensils but other than that it was a good meal. I've walked by here many a time before and after work. Either no one in the place or packed. The one time my coworker tried to come for dinner..far too busy. However, recently I just watched an episode of Parts Unknown in Georgia (not the State in the U.S.), with our beloved Anthony Bourdain... Even in his death, influential. They mentioned khinhalis and they looked really good. So on my way to second job with two hours to spare. I got my nails done and placed an order to go. OK folks.... When you order and you don't like an uninformed foodie.. The price on menu is per dumpling. Believe me, when you see the size, its worth it. Note to self..do not order when hungry. I decided to order 3 of each. Well as I write this have scarfed down the 3 beef ones. Very light, yet filling. This a good snack food or filling meal depending on how many you order. Awesome large Georgian dumplings in relaxed setting. Previously Tumanyan Khinkali Factory w accolades from Jonathan Gold. The name changed in the last year but same great tasting super dumplings. I started w my favorite, the boiled beef Khinkali. It's like a super sized Zhao lung bao with ground beef that you dip in sour cream to balance the intensity. They give you a large spoon to catch all the juice that comes out when you bite the dumpling. I recommend picking up the Khinkali w your right hand and holding the spoon w your left. I also really like the skewers. The sturgeon is outstanding, but I've had all of them and can attest to the high quality. One bathroom and a small bar in the back. They also have Russian raviolis called pilmenis, which are smaller than the Khinkalis but still very good. Nice service. Empty on weekdays and clusterfuck crazy packed on Friday and sat nights. A bit "Khinky" at its dumpling ends and exuding "Kali" cool Armenian chic influence located in a charming LA alleyway proximate to the Americana, lined with vines on brick, with signage leading to the main entrance, Khinkali certainly speaks for what it serves - Khinkali (Georgian dumpling). It is, in face, the house - more than that, the home- of Khinkali in LA. The modern decor involving black on crystal lighting and a general black-maroon setting will at first have you questioning whether this place serves up legitimate homemade, Georgian soul food from scratch - this isn't where I imagine Armenian grandmas home cooking. It does make for a nice ambiance. The servers are incredibly nice (especially if you frequent this restaurant during non peak hours). I enjoy the free starters that the restaurants provide as a courtesy - the chickpeas and croutons. Simple and refreshing to the palate. So... to the meat and potatoes (literally and figuratively) - for a brief seasonal period of time now (during Lent), you can even order limited edition potato Khinkalis (only fried) - what are my favorites? (1) Pickled Vegetable Medley - If you enjoy vinegar and pickled flavors, you will love this assortment of pickled cucumbers, cabbage sections, sliced green tomatoes, cauliflowers, and carrots. My favorite was the pickled green tomato - the crunch and the vinegar were the perfect symphony of an Armenian starter. (2) Mediterranean Salad - The freshness and acidity of the tomatoes and cucumbers alongside the creaminess of the Feta cheese was most delightful. Against the crunch of the occasional sweet onion and the sprinkles of the herbs, olive oils, and spices, this dish was simple and refreshing. I highly recommend this dish as it pairs well with the courses to follow when you are looking to cleanse the palate. (3) Osterina (Sturgeon) Skewer - I loved the butteriness, tenderness and fattiness of what was essentially a Sturgeon steak on a skewer. The skewed thing about this dish? I actually was pleasantly surprised by the sauce - the pomegranate sweet-savory sauce was the most delicious pairing. I could not get enough of it. The sauce also paired well with most anything else that came as a main! (4) THE MAIN KING KHINKALI - The main feature, was of course, the Khinkali, which I personally prefer boiled rather than fried. They have 3 options: ground beef, Georgian cheese, and mushrooms(4 during Lent - an additional potato), each delicious in their own right. And the best part? To smother the sour cream and eat with the hot Khinkali, with savory juices that originate from the source-filling of choosing. You can't go wrong with any filling option. Glad I finally crossed this place off my list. I'd been curious about it because of its beautiful exterior design and clever logo. In the prime Glendale location serving a very common dish known to its Armenians, I knew I had to try the khinkali here. CHICKPEAS AND CROUTONS (2/5): These were given as starters...and they were underwhelming. They didn't even taste like croutons...more like semi-burnt bread. I'm sure it's a regular thing for Georgians but I couldn't get myself to like it. PILELI SOUP (5/5): Hot, yogurt soup filled with pilimeni and covered in a delicious, lightly crisped phyllo dough. I loved the presentation and enjoyed dipping my spoon into the dough until it reached the soup. Too bad I had to wait a bit for it to cool down. MUSHROOM AND BEEF KHINKALI (4/5): I wasn't as impressed as I thought I would be. We had the option of getting the khinkali deep-fried but we preferred the doughy alternative. I love sautéed mushrooms but I was disappointed to see that these mushrooms tasted like those used in marinades or served with cold appetizers. It wasn't cooked, warm mushroom and the taste wasn't as savory as I anticipated. Same goes for the beef. I'd probably try another flavor next time. The sizes of the khinkali were good to share. First food is amazing, but service appears to be by staff preferece. I am an Asian American and I felt like they avoided my table on purpose. Other guests were being greeted, seated, and orders taken even after 15mins on being seated no waitstaff even asked for our order or even ask If we wanted water. The Khinkali House Weight-Watchers will have you eating less food than a starving Zimbabwe child. This experience will leave you more hungry than kids on the Christian Children's Fund commercial. Last Saturday my 3 friends and I (from San Diego) ended up in Glendale looking for a place to eat. Let's begin with why I gave this place a 1-star review. First, there is no option for 0 stars and I can't give out 5 middle fingers so my options were limited...like the portions of meat that were served. Long story short, we left the place hungry and overcharged. Paid $160.00 for that clown show. When we got out we honestly were looking for another place to eat but everything was closed because it was 10:45 pm. I can't believe this place has so many good reviews. With so much good food in that town, I'm never going there again... I'm going to attach a picture that was taken that day. While the picture looks good when you're hungry, don't let it distract you from real facts. How can a baby potato and baby tomato on the skewer be LARGER than a chicken and beef shish-kebob piece of meat?! It's hard to see on this picture, but the lamb chops are so small and thin, you can see through them. They have to be thick and pinkish on the inside. It is an expensive piece of meat that can't be dry. $13 for 2 tiny pieces of lamb chops? Are you serious? The 2 larger potatoes are thinly sliced to cover the space on the plate. On of our fav spots. Found this place during quarantine, was surprised that they had really nice patio - big tables with linens, silverware, real glasses. Not one of those places where they keep charging $100 per person but you're sitting outside of the parking lot At the plastic table, using plastic silverware and plastic cups. Food is sooooo delicious, we tried almost everything from the menu and never had any issues. Yesterday we got there last minute (kitchen closes at 10:30pm) we got there at 10:25 and it was ten of us and they agreed to serve us, brought food really fast. This review is regarding a specific incident. Unfortunately, I cannot select zero or negative stars, otherwise I would. As you can tell from previous negative reviews, it has nothing to do with food. The review is specifically for customer service, management and the restaurant's poor preparation for emergency situations which happened today. We were seated outside in the patio and eating one of their salads, waiting for our other food orders to arrive when one of the WATER PIPES/water sprinklers used for extinguishing fire EXPLODED. Yes. EXPLODED. Not only that, but the water SPRAYED out of it like crazy (see video attached) and it was all BLACK. This disgusting, smelly, muddy, black water spilled all over our salad and drinks, and also our clothes, phones, purses...Please see photos for your reference. Now this is where it gets unacceptable. No one, and I mean NO ONE from the restaurant - not the owner, not the manager, not the hostess, not our waitress or any of the other waiters/waitresses approached ANYONE that were seated outside in the patio. They all just went on with their business like usual, and us, along with another group of 5 that were seating behind us, all soaked in muddy gross water, just stood there astonished at the restaurant's inability to be prepared how to handle an emergency situation. Instead of coming to the patio, apologizing for what happened and asking those that were sprayed to get inside to get compensated or something along those lines, the manager stood there clueless and mute, and the waiters/waitresses looked uninterested or were laughing at the matter. Now I assure you, this wasn't funny at all. This was an actual emergency situation, for which 911 was called, but TKF was NOT just underprepared for an emergency situation, they were NOT PREPARED at all. How can you own a business and NOT have an emergency plan? Instead everyone who works for the establishment looked clueless as to what to do. This is where it gets even worse. In a situation like that, when fire department is called, the logical approach is to shut down the restaurant, apologize to customers, those that were affected/sprayed with muddy shitty water should have gotten a personal apology and some sort of gift card/compensation for messed up clothes/personal items. However, TKF CONTINUED to allow customers in and just seated everyone inside...I mean...what if things get worse? What if something else explodes? You're just going to let customers come into your establishment when CLEARLY things are going wrong and things need fixing? Yeah, I see only ONE reason why that's their approach - money. Money hungry establishment, that does NOT care about their customers one bit. For God's sake, this was an EMERGENCY situation. Handle it like one. It's a pity that the management is SO POOR, because the food is actually really good. read more

Service is pretty good you just have to be aggressive getting the waitress attention. You can find parking at the parking structure and I believe it's free for 2 hours. Prices are fair. Hard pass. Ordered the beef Khinkali and the "seasoned" fries... took way too long to get and the fries came after my Khinkali. The dumplings were fine but I don't understand what the appeal is. The fried is the way to go if you order it but honestly, not worth the wait. Our server was on a lunch break I guess so he and some other person would switch off. The other server also took some time to hit on someone he knew passing by outside and stuck his tongue out in glee when he came back in. Dude. My water was never refilled and it sat empty the entire time. The fries were undercooked for having taken so long to come out and the flavor is on par with In n Out cardboard fries. A nice Armenian restautant who has excellent service. Armenian in LA should give this place a try if you miss your hometown, it's my first time trying Armenian and I would recommend the Lentil Kofta for appetizer and try their Khinkali, mushroom flavor (it was the best of all flavors). I think everything taste alright except their pileli soup. I would stay away from yogurt soup, if you assume this soup is going to be savory, creamy and rich. It's not what I imagined, but I think it's only because I'm not familiar to the cuisine and the taste. 5 stars for service, 3 stars for food and 5 stars for environment and decor. read more
