I'm not going to say much on Kristian's work as it pretty much speaks for itself. You basically like his fashion based style of photography or you don't. What I will speak on and why we chose Kristian over other wedding photographers is..... .....creative style. He was like a ninja darting in, out, and around all sorts of people and objects to get different shots. His work is Wow and his rate wasn't compared to similarly tiered photographers. The "talent/eye for pics" is what you pay for when when it comes to selecting any photog. .....his experience. He's shot plenty of weddings but not to the point where he's jaded and just going through the motions doing ANOTHER wedding. Kristian is a great photographer and was super easy to work with. He took two goofy people and made us look good. I was so excited when I got see the pictures online (as well as when I received the master dvd). There was just so many pictures that I absolutely loved! (I was a little apprehensive that all the pictures would look as awkward as I felt while taking the pictures...as I don't really like being in front of a camera.) But they came out BEAUTIFUL, thanks to Kristian!!! On the day of the wedding Kristian and Gabriel were super professional, they even scoped out a picturesque spot by the water that would be good for pictures before he reported for duty...but we didn't end up going there since we were running short on time. I got very lucky with choosing a wedding photographer. Kristian and his co photographer were some of the nicest people I worked with for the wedding. He was prompt, courteous and gave us high resolution photos within a week so we could add it into our next wedding reception in LA. The only only complaint (so small) is that he took a lot of pictures at an angle. ther than that, Kristian is really an awesome and very technically talented photographer. A wonderful photographer from start to finish. He came up to our area, an hour drive, to meet with us before the event. This type of convenience is rare, and I truly appreciated it. He was not pushy with us signing the contract, which we did just a few weeks before our wedding, and worked with us to find a package thing we could do without breaking our budget. The day-of he arrived a bit early, and left a bit late. He made my husband and I feel comfortable, and also was kind to our family, friends, and guests. We went off the list for whom we wanted in the photos, and he worked with it smoothly. He also was very familler with the venue, Hakone Gardens, which was awesome. Hakone is a large venue, and it was nice to have the pornographer guide us rather than be confused with where to shoot. I had issues with my dress, and he helped with positioning it. Brides to be, practice walking around with your dress beforehand. I sure didn't! My mom had to push me into getting a photographer, since it's one of the larger expenses, and I'm so glad I did. More like, we're so glad we did. My husband and I look like models or something! It's so cool. A year ago I was looking at the book Hakone presented us of others who had they photography/wedding/etc done at the venue and I never thought we could match it. But, these photos look like they can go right alongside. I might even send some to the venue. Seriously... so happy. If we had to recommend someone, we'd recommend him. We unequivocally recommend Kristian! Not only is he professional and talented at his craft, but he is very easygoing, kind, and personable. From the beginning, he made everything so straightforward and simple. Most photographers of his caliber were charging double the rate! People weren't kidding when they said that wedding vendors really stick it to you on prices. Not only is Kristian offering his services at a competitive rate, but he has a great artistic eye. We've only done our engagement session so far, but I was happy with the outcome. The only thing I might want to change is that there were a lot of artistic beautiful shots, but not a lot of portrait like shots. There are so many things that people say are important about your wedding day, it gets obnoxious. However, my trustworthy college roommate said the one thing she would do-over was to make sure her pictures were of higher quality. After having survived the wedding planning process, I'm glad I listened to her. I really was set on a photojournalistic style with a sprinkling of portraits to satisfy family. Kristian superseded my expectations. He captured the most elegant and touching moments of the night that I know I'll cherish forever. Several people have told me they are the best wedding pictures they have ever seen. Others have told me they look like they're straight out of a magazine. Kristian and his team were great. They were flexible for our pre wedding meetings and great at keeping in touch. When youre planning a wedding, it gets a bit hectic maintaining all your vendors, but Kristian was on top of it and even sent us a Christmas card! During the wedding, I didnt' even notice them but they were still able to get shots throughout the day. What I appreciated the most was he was all about getting shots. We went everywhere and tried all sorts of different things, so when we got all the shots back, we had plenty to choose from! Best of all, we got to keep the master dvds of all images taken that day. We had a bridal party of 16 and I thought it would be difficult to have good compositions with that many people, but he really did a good job setting us up for the shots. I love Kristian's work and he was easy to work with. I had Kristian for my wedding in April. He is very subtle and has an artistic eye to find perfect shots. Many of the pictures I like, I had no idea when he took them. His work on his website is a pretty good indication of the product you will be receiving. We found Kristian on a very short list of recommendations/preferred vendors from our ceremony venue- Hakone Garden. It was definitely a bonus that he knew the venue and where the good locations were. I had briefly polled a few other photographers, but they were all more expensive, more business like- as another person posted- just another wedding, cranking out photos. Not to mention that from the start we liked the photos on the web page, so why keep looking elsewhere? Kristian definitely takes his time with each client and job, and it shows, exactly as other people have said. He gets great shots because he wants to. We put him in a tricky situation, we only had a 2 hour slot at the gardens, which offers a lot of scenery options, plus my parents were keen on having pictures of each family as their experience is that those pictures tend to end up on the wall at home. This meant though that there were a ton of pictures to take in little time, plus we added a cake/champagne after our ceremony which also took away from his time to get the bride/groom and party or other pictures that are sort of the must haves. It has to be hard to navigate between taking up too much time, and having clients that are upset that they don't have all the pictures they wanted. For us, it was a good balance, or else it was properly erred on the side of too many photos. At the end of the day, we felt we ran around the garden taking pictures, got married in 10 minutes, ate a bite of cake, then took some more photos, then left. On the flip side, we have hundreds of great shots, of which he 'touched up' about 50. Since my wife is Romanian none of her family or friends were able or allowed to attend, so the photos are the primary way they experienced out wedding. So we're glad to have lots of pictures opposed to too few. To add to other reviewers- he was early to the venue to get shots of us walking in, and stayed through the end. He was very personable to work with and captured some terrific moments. I wouldn't hesitate for a second to recommend him to a friend. Funny though, contrary to another reviewer, as a more artistic person, I would have been ok with a few more 'artsy' shots and a few fewer portraits. A general word of advice, which has nothing to do with Kristian- never rely solely on your photographer, always have other people taking photos, candids, or even a photo of you getting your photo taken, it's all part of the experience! read more

My wife and I used KI Photography for our wedding and Kristian was absolutely amazing. We can't even put into words how much we love our wedding photos. Kristian worked with us for two days, over two wedding ceremonies, and was absolutely amazing for both of them. We chose our first location because of the vistas and various backgrounds we could get in our shots and were not at all disappointed. Kristian is incredibly patient and talented and he ensured we felt comfortable and had a great time throughout. We rode into San Francisco and took pictures around the city and he was incredible at recommending locations and helping us get to them and arranging ourselves into these dramatic, beautiful pictures. For us, it's incredible it's even pictures of us (we're two average people and yet these pictures look like they belong in a magazine). Again, the Bay Area has a plethora of photographers and it can be tough to choose one, but Kristian and his team standout from the crowd. Kristian did an outstanding job, on our engagement photos as well as our wedding. We really wanted a lot of candid shots, shots of little details that we'd overlook because we were so excited that day, some artistic shots and we also loved his style. this review is long overdue, but Kristian easily earns a top rating from us. he truly delivered above and beyond what we'd even imagined was possible. first of all, he fulfilled all of the photo shots I'd requested of him, and then some. then, his amazingly artful talent of capturing absolutely stunning photos that were full of color, character and emotion was simply awe inspiring. we were so pleased with his work. and I'll tell you, it is very (very very) rare that I ever like photos of myself, yet Kristian was able to get in plenty of what I actually thought to be flattering photos of myself. a rarity. furthermore, Kristian was so pleasant to work with as well as flexible. he was willing to provide us with all that was important to us and to do this within our budget. we had other photographers turn us down for not wanting the complete package deals they were offering that would have put us over our budget, whereas Kristian was willing to make omissions or to provide al a carte pricing for us. also, many other photographers will not allow you to have all of your photos and will only give you those photographs that they deem worthy of keeping. we wanted to be able to make those choices for ourselves and have all of our photos available to us. Kristian was more than willing to give us a master copy of all of our photos along with his own picks and touched-up selections. we really appreciated this. finally, I also wanted to point out that Kristian was a professional, he was comfortable to work with and was a kind and likable person. my husband and I could not have been happier with Kristian and highly recommend his services to anyone! read more
