Have purchased a few vehicles here but am here for service today. Expresslube but this is no express wait time here. It's going on. 2 hours for a quick appointment that was for 9am. There are a coffee keureg bar here with water bottles and snack vending machines. Had poor experience with service reps not paying attention to detail. Claimed I would get updates about the work. Nope. They will verbally apologize for things - feels like lip service, and make no real showing of being apologetic. An example: service rep had put down wrong address for pick up by the Uber driver. I couldn't reach anyone in the service dept (very common), so I had to show up at the wrong address to be picked up or miss the pick up service and have further delays. I hope that doesn't happen to anyone else. They claim that staff are all mostly new within the year, that even their service technicians are all new. Big turn over, you wonder why. Dishonest. So dishonest. My husband made an appointment to go see a used car. Right away, same day, the dealership raised the price on the car. So my husband texts to see if they'll honor the price they had posted when he made the appointment. He got a text back saying yes, that would be the price. Then we show up after more than 3 hours of driving to get there and the sales manager tells us there are around $2k worth of dealer added extras that we have to buy. This was in no way listed in the fine print when they advertised the car - I checked before we drove out there. And we couldn't even verify it was true - I mean they said they'd put clear protection on the seats, but the seats were stained so I'm not sure why they did that, or if they even did. Why would you seal in stains? So then they say they'll compromise and we'll just have to pay one thousand over the asking price. Also, the bathroom was absolutely disgusting. Puddles of pee and toilet paper everywhere. Bin overflowing. Just gross. But I will say the salesman was nice and so was the car. That's why I'm giving the place two stars instead of one. If you don't mind getting ripped off, this is the place for you. read more

Bought a used car Feb. 2024. Went pretty smooth. Was told all used cars go through a very thorough bumper to bumper inspection. I still ended up buying extended warranty. Took it in for oil change when reminder came on in July 2024. They stated it needed brakes and rotors all around. They also said windshield fluid reservoir was cracked and needed to be replaced. After about a month of haggling with their sales manager they agreed to fix everything free of charge. Brakes are bad again. Took it in to another mechanic to check. He stated the rotors were never replaced and wore the brake pads quickly and unevenly. I then asked him to check the reservoir and he stated it was still cracked. So all they replaced were the brakes. Nothing else. This place is extremely dishonest. Impossible to get someone to talk to. They just redirect you to someone else. read more

My review is in the service dept only. Took my vehicle in for a 60,000 mile service. Had an appt for 11:00 and as of 1:45 my car had not been taken into the service bay. When k inquired about the status I was told it will be quick because it's just an oil change. I corrected the two employees at the counter that it was for a 60,000 mile service and they both said it's not much more than that. I had to pull up the 60k service sheet for them to show them it was much more than an oil change. After them being clueless about which service my vehicle was there for, and them not knowing how long it would actually take and what was included, I lost all trust in what would actually be done on my vehicle or not, took my keys back and left! I've purchased a vehicle here, and been with a family member and friend to help them purchase vehicles here, and the purchasing experience has always been great! They're very misleading in their contract for the optional maintenance plan. Please, I would not suggest you take the maintenance option. Their customer service is horrible as well. If you schedule an appointment, even for a simple oil change it's gonna take 3 to 4 hours to do. For the misleading maintenance option I'll state my view that led me to this conclusion. I bought a car on June or 2022, which included the optional service maintenance portfolio. This allowed me to get my car service accordingly per the car manual. It was a 2995 dollars optional service. The term is 72 months or 999,999 miles. Which ever comes first. Today, my wife brought the car in and they are attempting to have her sign an acknowledgement of end of service. It hasn't been 72 months yet and they even printed out a sheet that includes how many services I was to receive. This "sheet" was never included in our original contract. The dealer that sold me the vehicle never mentioned this as a term either. I recommend going to another dealership if you're trying to buy a car. read more

Even after talking with hire ups within this dealership still no end in sight. My car sounds like crap and they can't figure it out, another shop locally had me start the car up and didn't even touch the car right away said it's the transmission and this place specializes in VW/audi and they can figure it out. But my car is still under warranty and You would think VW would figure it out.. Last time it was in service it was there for 3 weeks and didn't fix the problem I went to pick up the car and they lost my keys or misplaced them said they would bring my car to my house by 3PM and almost a week later if I didn't call them they probably would have never called me about the car. This place is a joke up and down this dealership take your money elsewhere don't spend a dime here and Eric Foltz you haven't helped me one bit do better!!!!!!! No appt had an emergency issue with an oil leak on my recent used car purchase of a 2016 Beetle. Met Antonio Vera and explained my situation. He listened carefully and understood the assignment. He was able to get one of his top technicians to identify the issue. He knew that I would have to take the car back to the selling dealer, he wanted to do the best thing for me, knowing it wasn't going to be fixed there. Antonio from Service Department was amazing! He was so helpful i had called and my ONLY good experience was my conversation with him. I called due to being sold a Ford F-150 with a manufacturer issue in the engine 4 or 5 years ago and was trying to see if there was anything i could do without spending more money. Not only did Antonio go above and beyond with his strong knowledge in power train warranty but he treated me like a friend that needed help, he was most definitely the best person that i could've been in contact with that day in regards to my vehicle! Hops above and beyond: He let me take my dog on the test drive (ps - the vehicle was not detailed yet) and could not have been more accommodating during the ride and the entire process. I dropped my car off on Friday 1/31 for a 80k mile service. After the inspection I was told that it needed significant repairs - repair/replace front bushings, front brakes, both of which require an alignment after the service - my total bill was over 3k. The service employee was nice and made several excuses on why it was taking so long. When I asked if there was a discount available, they gave me $200.00 off and then told me they "threw in a free alignment" (which is kind of insulting since that is part of the required service when doing those types of repairs). After almost a week of waiting for parts and repairs to be done, I drove my car home. It was very windy and I noticed the car was "floating" all over the road, but chalked it up to the wind. I had a few scary moments, but finally made it home. The next morning, I drove to work and narrowly missed 2 big rigs on I-5 due to the car floating across the lanes. My car continued to do this when going over 40 miles an hour. I parked my car at work and cannot drive it as it is unsafe. When I called Tracy VW Service, I was put through to voicemail 4 times, and did not leave a message as I needed to speak with someone right away. I called the business office and explained the issue and they put me through to a manager's voicemail. Not only was the service I received horrible, the result of their service almost cost me my life. I am still waiting for a call from them to discuss how they will assist in making my car safe to drive. EDIT:After waiting for 3 hours, I finally received a call back. My car will be towed back to them to be reviewed and fixed. I will definitely have another certified VW mechanic look at all work done to be sure it was completed correctly. 2/10/2025 EDIT: on 2/7, My car was towed back to Tracy VW for further review which was arranged by the General Manager Jalil Hamidi. Later that day I received a call from the maintenance manager who said that a "bolt had been stretched" which "was not any fault of ours" but that they would replace all bolts to be sure that the car was safe. He repeated that "this was not anything that was our fault" about 3 times and asked to keep the car over the weekend. I agreed. I am still waiting for a call to give me a status of the fix. None of the excuses make any sense to me. My gut says that something was not done correctly and that the car was released to me before it was ready. The maintenance manager assured me that he would "personally" deliver the car to me when done. We shall see! I have another garage set up to inspect and review all work done by Tracy VW since I no longer trust them. Update 2/11/25 - Car was delivered to my home by a very polite gentleman on behalf of Tracy VW. The noise that was coming from the front end of my car is now gone, and car now seems to be driving correctly. I will no longer use Tracy VW to service my vehicle. I would highly suggest anyone looking to patronize this company, read all reviews before taking their car in. I've found several reviews and experiences similar to mine. Update 2/26/25 - Steering is once again very unstable and driving feels unsafe. I will be taking my car to another shop, filing a complaint with the State Board and possibly taking legal action. THINK BEFORE PURCHASING A CAR FROM HERE!!! I traded in my subaru wrx on July 19th 2025, and we had purchased a previous service loaner vehicle which was a jetta and received one key when we left. It was a weekend so the service department was closed that day, we had been ASSURED that our sales person would look for the second set of keys and if it was not found they would get one made. I had went into the location on July 21st, and returned my TWO spare subaru keys that I had and my sales person was not in office so I was told he would reach out when he came into office about my second key. With no word from either service or management about our second set of keys, I had gone in on July 28th asking about our second set of keys AGAIN. Our sales person was in office and looked around but couldn't find our second set of keys, he said he would contact the service department to look for this key and ASSURED us that if they cannot find it they will go ahead and make us one(second time). He called me on July 29th saying they have had no luck in finding our second key but he will speak to his general manager about getting a new key made for us(third time). My fiance had received a call on August 4th about our key. The service department still cannot locate our key, my fiance said for the inconvenience that they would give us a TANK OF GAS(about $60) or a discount on a second key. When he had asked how much a key would cost they said anywhere from $300-500 and we have to pay for it even though we were assured we would get a second key?? In my humble opinion, a tank of gas / discount on a second key is not equivalent to purchasing a car with two keys. If we had known the car would not come with a second set of keys , we would have gone and purchased a different vehicle. I had eventually reached out to Corporate on August 4th because this is ridiculous and through Corporate we had received a response that someone from the Tracy location would reach out to us. Corporate was absolutely lovely and she called me twice a week until VW Tracy had reached out to us. They finally reached out to me on August 19th, about two weeks after I had reached out to Corporate. It was not a pleasant phone call and the guy was not much of a help. I believe his name was Ray? he basically said that since it was not written in our contract we wouldn't get a second key because used cars don't come with second keys?? I said that's odd because my used subaru came with three keys! I had told him that I would appreciate a second key as the sales person had assured us not once, note twice but about three times that they would get one made! He kept saying that's not policy and it needs to be written and I said I get that but due to the employee continuously saying that he would get one made I would very much need one made. As a manager of a retail store myself, I would NEVER assure a client we can do something without asking approval from higher ups like an Area Manager or Corporate and if i did I would be held accountable for any issues in store and I have been so that's all I'm asking!! I had also told him that upon purchase had we known the car would not come with a second key we would have purchased a different vehicle. His response was "It is hard to say whether or not you would have gotten a different car had you known it didn't come with one" Excuse me sir? Are you living in my head or reading my thoughts to know what I would purchase or are you just saying this because I'm a woman?? I had said with 100% certainty i would have gone home with a different car or kept my original vehicle. He then said that he would gladly take my car back! But I had already made one payment , by this time it was past my due date anyway and I'm also not going home with a different car besides my subaru wrx that I traded in and he said "That's fair" probably knowing he can't produce that. He also at one point thought I traded in a Honda Civic so that goes to show how incredibly unorganized they are! So basically if my car key fails, I lose it, somehow lock it in the car I have to take it upon myself to purchase another key?? At the end of the phone call he had said he would do anything to make this right and would email me as soon as we were off the phone to get me in to service to get a second key. I have patiently been waiting since August 19th when we had our phone call and it is now August 28th and I still have no email or second key. I am pleasantly disappointed in this whole process, It also took them a month to get me my tags for my vehicle and only received them AFTER I had reached out to Corporate. Definitely wish I looked at the reviews before shopping here because seeing how many 1 stars they have is absolutely insane and honestly makes a ton of sense!!! read more

I just purchased a new vehicle from the Volkswagen Tracy location yesterday, I was looking to finance a Jetta S which I test drove with Marcus. He was a very wonderful person. Very cool down to earth salesman. When I was sent to do all the financing paperwork with their finance department, I started to noticed how many times they were changing my monthly payment option, not really being transparent. It was very misleading. They mentioned they were going to add this and that, "hooking me up" and giving me a good deal with maintenance and all. The wording made it seem as if was included with the purchase pricing of the car. Since earlier I told them I saw capital one listed the car for $1k under what their sticker said. So I figured they were trying to give me a good deal included. They were deceiving with the APR trying to give it to me high until I asked and they did lower it. But at no moment there was no breakdown or an explanation of the actual cost of the Maintenance packages (which later they also stated I could use in another state since I mentioned I might move out of state for work later on, they said yes, but the contract states it can only be done at their dealership, so... they lied.) and warranties they added. Almost $8.7k worth. When they finally gave me my paperwork I was completely upset at the fact that I trusted this guys. I don't have much experience buying cars as my previous one long time ago was very positive at a toyota dealership. Currently all those warranties are within a cancel period and would like to have them canceled ASAP. I am happy with the vehicle, but not happy with the unethical way they took advantage of my business. Stay way from this place or be very alert when making a purchase. Lesson learned to buy used instead of dealing with dealerships. I hope they make things right. Already emailed the GM. I spoke on the phone with Matthew and he was very friendly, responsive and accommodating, originally I was looking for a 2023 that they had and he told me to come in and take a look at it and they would do their best to get me everything I wanted within my budget. When I got there he had to step away to help another customer so I was then helped by Jonathan. He picked up where Matthew left off and was very pleasant and funny. Everyone spoke to me with utmost respect and every person I spoke with joked around and made it seem like I'd known them for years. It didn't just feel like a car sales pitch, we talked about music (Morgan Wallen vs Luke Combs), concerts, career goals and a variety of other things. It made the experience much more than any previous car sale I'd been a part of. They were transparent and really seemed like they had my best interest in mind without being pushy. I walked out with the 2024 instead of the 2023 because they worked with me and I was able to get a great deal that it made more financial sense to go with the newer vehicle. They were accommodating with my trade in and were very up front and didn't try to have any hidden costs come up at the end of the deal. I could go on and on about the level of enjoyment I actually had when purchasing a car but I'll just say everyone was extremely nice. I appreciate Matthew and Jonathan for their help throughout the buying process and also enjoyed the conversation that came with it. If you have a chance to buy a car from them you won't be disappointed. Brought my moms santa fe in for an oil change a few weeks ago. It was a weekday, I had a 1:30pm appointment. Arrival was easy, pulled the car up to the oil change drive place, got my kid out, walked in. Gave the front desk associate my keys, they said to wait and pointed me to the waiting room. Waiting room has a smart tv (hulu, netflix, amazon, etc) you do have to log in to your own account, just make sure you log yourself out! I almost forgot. They offer water & coffee. They also have 2 vending machines. The bathroom is still in service even with all this covid & has a baby changing station! Which is convenient to us mama's with babies. The oil change itself took 2 hours, so it was good I brought snacks & drinks for my kid and I. Also good that they had a working tv or we would've gone crazy in there. It's been a month since my experience, but "better late than never," as they say...so let's get into the details real quick!! I couldn't be more thankful for Tracy Volkswagen, and more specifically -- John Orozco!!!! After a roller coaster of stress due to a delayed insurance payout and the pushiest, worst dealership in Stockton (I won't name it though), I somehow found my way here. One night, I found a deal online that seemed *too good to be true.* It showcased the lowest asking price on a used Ford Edge I came across over the countless other sites I saw before. Not to mention a life time powertrain warranty!!?! On a whim, I decided to shoot my shot basically and reach out about it, not thinking much was going to happen. To my surprise, the next morning John reached out to me. I was upfront about my credit and situation and, crazily enough, it didn't phase him one bit. He came off extremely genuine, attentive, understanding, kind and professional. Within a half hour of first contact, he sent me a video of the car. Once he discovered I'm from Stockton, he really pushed and went the extra mile, as he enthusiastically stated he has to take care of his Stockton people since he's from the area. I'm a big details person and that right there just made it feel like it was *meant to be.* Anyway, he truly worked wonders and miraculously got me approved sooner than I expected. I almost couldn't believe it! The man works fast!!!! My bf and I made our way over and took it for a quick test drive. Since everything was already worked up (all thanks to John) it wasn't too long before Mike came over and showed me my options and then shortly after that I found myself signing the paperwork with Brandon. Lol...I told some friends that it low key felt like I was in someone's house or something because of the chill vibes -- John played some music and turned the game on for us while we waited. I didn't get to meet everyone there, but I could tell that everyone was cool and had a nice way about them. Everyone we encountered made us feel comfortable. And goodness, everything felt so quick and easy. For it being my first time handling all this car stuff on my own, this dealership and staff changed my whole perspective of what it can (and should) be. It doesn't have to be stressful. Not everyone is desperate, pushy, uncaring. I really am beyond thankful for Tracy Volkswagen, John and this team of professionals. I can only hope that this positivity will continue over the years when it comes to maintenance and what not. But for now, I would recommend this place to anyone looking to purchase a vehicle with zero hassle/zero bullshit. The entire experience from beginning to end was a night/day difference from days before in Stockton. Dealerships are typically known for being pushy or desperate, at least that's been my experience so far until this place! First off, who buys a TOYOTA TACOMA from a VW dealership?! ME. IM THAT GUY. And I wouldn't have it any other way. I've been on the hunt for a used Tacoma for quite some time and with the crazy car market we're in I decided that this was a marathon race to find the right one. Luckily for me, I didn't have to look too far. Tracy VW has a huge used car inventory and had plenty of Tacomas to choose from. When I first arrived to the dealership, I was able to spot the Tacomas that I found online and was immediately approached by John Orozco. Aka "Lil John" John welcomed me with a big smile and provided overflowing positive energy. Talk about a great salesman, John was extremely knowledgeable of the cars on the lot and the family dealership altogether. John was able to answer ALL of the questions that I had. John retrieved the car keys quickly and let me test drive both trucks that I was comparing. Usually buying a car can be a hassle. Lots of back and forth. Lots of waiting games. But with John, it was direct and to the point. He had the desire to find the right car for me and at the right price. He wasn't pushy. He listened, a rare trait, to what I was looking for and was able to deliver. Don't judge a book by its cover, John may be young but he's an outstanding salesman. See you at the top John! I recently purchased a 2017 Dodge Cummins from them and I couldn't be happier with truck as well as the process and the service since.
