Egg salad smelled and tasted like raw fish. That was disgusting. Not sure how they managed to make egg salad smell and taste like raw fish.

I had high hopes for this place. It's usually on one of those top places lists. So, I expected better. The portions are on the large size which is consistent with the price. The issue I had was with the meats being a bit too lean and the sandwich being dry. It's a lot of meat and being that dry is just not great. It's the same for the corned beef and the pastrami. The Reuben was a little better but not because of the meat. It simply felt less dry because of the toppings. Overall, I give it a three star. read more

Well, Hymies on the mainland it isn't. I ordered a Reuben and 1/2 lb of Russian dressing. The dressing didn't make the order when I picked up my take out. The sandwich was acceptable however, the pastrami was akin to spam in texture. Tasty but not exceptional. I suspect it was bought not house made. I will try the restaurant one day soon. read more

Blonde older lady in the front has no manners or respect, I've never gotten worse service and if I wasn't working on my Christian manners I woulda shown her myself what being disrespectful can get r, service was slow, when it was my turn to place an order she walked away without even addressing me to go begin talking to a coworker, then when she returns she doesn't even acknowledge me instead she attempts to address the next person in line as if I'm invisible, then once she takes their order she walks away as if I'm not standing there and I have to wait for someone else to come take my order. I hate to say this but I was the only African American in the store so I don't know if she is racist but that's the energy I got. First time eating here. Really cute little deli. I loved the self serve soda coffee corner and what can I say about the pickle bar. Yes I said pickle bar. An unlimited supply of pickled item all fresh made. I could've just sat there. I ordered a corned beef special of course on rye and I got a potato pancake as a side with apple sauce. I also couldn't t resist the matzo ball soup. Hubby ordered a roast beef on with Swiss and Cole slaw as a side. There's a note next to it that says half a whole. I thought it meant half a sandwich but it means half and whole pounds of meat. Well needless to say I have half a sandwich in the fridge. The potato pancake was amazing. Fresh applesauce and the sandwich was out of this world fresh rye bread. The waitress and counter people were helpful and friendly. Stop by and check it out. I come here all the time because I like the food. Unfortunately the service and the cleanliness are pretty despicable. Today I waited at the counter for 15 minutes before I could anyone to take my order. There were 6 employees milling around just ignoring the customers. They have recently decided to add a 3.5% fee as a service charge to anyone who buys food there. I understand financial changes, but just raise the prices rather than trying to finagle extra money in this weird sneaky way. On a separate note, there are no Covid precautions here whatsoever. The staff does not wear masks and there are no barriers or distancing measures. Even before New Jersey (prematurely) lifted the mask mandate, the staff regularly walked around without them or wearing them under their noses. On more than one occasion I saw an employee cough into their hands and then continue handling food. I just wish the food wasn't so damn good. Except for the soup. That kinda sucks. read more

Food is great but the people working there are beyond rude. I have ordered trays from here for years and probably spent $1000's at this point so I'm not new to the scene here but today I called with a question and the woman on the phone would barely listen to me. I was told I could no longer order for Yom Kippur over the phone (which was completely fine and understandable to me), but I had a few additional questions. This woman basically hung up me. Honestly, if they were not the only good deli in close proximity to me I would never buy from there again. Just absolutely fuming after this experience and had to vent. My husband and I were really excited to try this place after hearing great reviews. He ordered pastrami and corned beef and I had the turkey and brisket sandwich. The turkey was really dry and the brisket was extremely bland, disappointing cuz it looked so good. The potato pancake was pretty good, very crispy. My husband and I agree the pastrami was very good. My biggest complaint is how dirty the inside of the deli was. Stuff all over the floor, dirty countertops and unbussed tables sat there our whole stay. It was a warm day and they had the door propped open and several flies were all around us while eating, which added to the overall dirty feeling. People who worked there were nice, but I don't think we will return. read more

Good and plentiful but a little saltier than other lox I've had. The others were THRILLED with their OBSCENE sandwiches, especially their pastrami ones. I don't eat pickles but they were raving about those as well. I now see the pix on Yelp and am wow'd by what their desserts look like - wowee! When I splurge again, I think it's going to be here! I live in the neighborhood & use to frequent the Kibbitz room often. I loved having breakfast there & often went with friends for dinner. . In the last few years their prices went through the roof & unfortunately so did the way they talk to their customers. The food is really good but it's uncomfortable going there & not being spoken to in a nice way. Once in a while, I stop there for take out food but I'm no longer the kind of customer they would appreciate having. Seems to be how many people feel going in there. Wow! What a great discovery!! I was looking for a bagel shop and found it was closed all sudden for good. This shop is a neighbor. I checked it on Yelp just in case and decided to give a shot. Variety: Bagel, bread, cakes, sweets, pickles, ham, cheese, salad, etc... Taste: Delicious!!!!!! Ruben sandwich is like a heaven and also sticky bun. Fresh pickles bar is fantastic, too. I wish I had an extra stomach to try more. Price: Not bad. Bagel $2. Massive salads and sandwiches are around $15. Customer service: Sweet! They explained many unknown stuff kindly. Parking: Free. Great Jewish deli! New York sized servings. Note that sandwiches are usually in the $20.00 range, but a half is too big for a normal meal. Split a sandwich between 2 & get a couple of extra pieces of Jewish rye. Poof! One corned beef special becomes 3. After living in Jacksonville, FL for 7 and a half years without a single real Jewish deli, my first visit to Kibitz transported me past Heaven and right to Katz's in NYC. Not a fancy place, but darn the food is good! I enjoyed a turkey Ruben with potato pancakes on the side. Loved the sampling from the pickle barrel. I went with a group and got to taste several dishes? Yum! Prices may seem a little high, but the portions are huge. My half sandwich was enough for two meals. We ordered delivery on a Friday night. It was about a 45-minute wait. We got two chicken tender platters; each came with two sides, we both picked onion rings and then got mac & cheese and french fries. The menu was a little pricey but portions were very generous. We also got chicken noodle soup which was delicious. We will definitely try more items next time. read more

I've heard great things about Kibitz Room here and there for as long as I've lived in the area. I finally had a chance to try them out and I am so glad I did... I am a huge fan of pastrami... and when your website name is literally great pastrami you have some big shoes to fill... and well they rose to that occasion. I had the pastrami sandwich board on a Kaiser roll and it exceeded my expectations... it was piled high with great quality pastrami, crispy slaw and sweet french dressing, I opted to go for a Kaiser roll rather than rye bread... the Kaiser seemed home made was very good. I also ordered the vanilla sprinkle cake slice which was also huge, and not just because it has 7 layers but because it was a generously thick slice... soft and moist, exactly what I was hoping for. They have a few things on the menu I'm interested in trying esp their Jewish cheesesteak made with brisket.... But that going to be really hard to do because the pastrami is so good idk how I'm going to breakaway to try anything else. read more

Came here for breakfast but ended up having lunch items. We shared the whitefish on a bagel and the nova on a bagel. They are pricey sandwiches. We also shared the coney fries. Loved them but I'm partial to a thick cut fry. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed the whitefish salad as I have never had that before. The nova was not as good and only had one little sliver of nova on this sandwich piled high w lettuce and tomato. Kind of felt a little ripped off about that. They do have a great pickle bar that and they give you a bag to take more pickles with you for the road. UPDATE ordered lunch today for the office. The whitefish was not as good as it was before. The potato pancakes were super greasy and tasted like the oil was very old. The fries has the same flavor and very well done. So disappointed. The staff is friendly.. hence the extra star,.
