Kichi Bar is such a great hidden gem in Carrollton! The space feels modern, intimate, and perfect for a date night, while still being relaxed and welcoming. We tried a variety of nigiri, including O-toro, hotate, botan ebi, kinmedai, salmon, and uni, and everything tasted fresh and beautifully prepared. The Uni Pasta was rich and creamy, and the Uni + Botan Ebi hand roll and Chili Scallop hand roll were also standouts. We also enjoyed the Wagyu Burger, Soft Shell Crab Maki, and Matcha Latte Martini. Great food, thoughtful presentation, and a lovely atmosphere--I'd definitely come back!

I had been wanting to try this spot out for a while and I finally decided to go one Sunday night for their late night happy hour. Their late night happy hour is fro 9pm to close and they have discounted sushi and other items. Our server was great and he recommended alot of great items. The inside of the restaurant is cute as well and it gives date night vibes. We ordered several different things. We got the chicken boa bun, the shishito peppers, different types of nigiris, two different hand rolls and the wagyu. Everything tasted great but my favorites were the wagyu and the tuna handroll. I will be back to try their other items!

An absolutely stunning dining experience -- both visually and flavor-wise. The oysters were incredibly fresh and beautifully presented on ice, paired with ponzu and bonito flakes sauce that added the perfect umami depth and citrus brightness. Each bite was clean, briny, and layered with complexity without overwhelming the natural sweetness of the oyster. The uni pasta was one of the most surprising dishes of the night. I'll admit -- I was initially a little disappointed to learn the uni was cooked rather than served raw. However, the creativity completely won me over. The sauce was rich, velvety, and deeply savory, coating the noodles beautifully. It felt comforting yet elevated -- a bold and thoughtful execution. The sushi was exceptional. The fish cuts were buttery and precise, and you can tell they use high-quality ingredients. The wasabi had that real, clean heat -- not overly harsh -- and truly brought out the natural sweetness of the fish instead of overpowering it. Even the pickled ginger was perfectly balanced: not too sweet, lightly sour, and pleasantly crisp, which is rare and very appreciated. The pork belly was another standout -- crispy exterior, tender and juicy inside -- paired with apple slices and a vibrant purée that added brightness and contrast. The textures and balance were spot on. From plating to flavor composition, everything felt intentional and refined without being pretentious. A thoughtful, creative menu that respects traditional Japanese elements while adding modern twists. The wait staffs are a knowledge and attentive. Definitely a five-star experience. I would happily return.

Happy Hour at Kichi Bar is wonderful! Handrolls and nigiri were all great! I do think their appetizers have room to improve because in our experience the karaage was more soft than crispy, and the pork buns were quite average. I do want to shout out the servers because they were so kind and attentive!

My favorite local Japanese restaurant to eat at either solo at the bar or for a date night or even family night with our toddler. It's so accommodating to whatever your needs are - from the service, ambience, array of food, and cleanliness! The food is so refined, clean, and delicious. Everything has its purpose and should be eaten as served, whether by the chefs in the kitchen or behind the sushi bar. The cocktails are also fantastic and refreshing. Please add this to your next foodie outing - I promise you won't be disappointed!

Love loved this place! The server was so nice and knowledgeable. The sushi, sashimi was fresh and flavorful. The appetizers are a surprise and very good. Good choices for vegetarians too! Must try are the hamachi, mushroom fritters, maki rolls! The ambience is nice and cozy and its in the city. The price is decent for the flavor! I wish the nigiri would come as 2 pieces instead of 1 for the price.

Kichi salad. It's alright - the veggie has a bit bitter and it doesn't fit into one mouth bite. It's messy

Foods can definitely improve. Tempura isn't the authentic tempura, batter isn't fully cook; sashimi and uni+ baton shrimp aren't fresh. A place I will not revisit again sorry to say.

COME HERE SOOO GOOD!! if you like premium sushi simialr to uchi, then you have to try this place! It's def a hole in the wall kind if spot in carrolton but WOW! Every dish was meticulously hand crafted with so much flavor soooo goood! The team here is super friendly and gave the best recommendations. I'm already thinking of what I'll be ordering for next time :D Must try the Maguro Futomaki 3 part of tuna roll... LIKE WOWWW!! Also the the ube ice cream is legit - get it!

Easily the best sushi in the area. Just flawless, amazing, and wonderful staff. Delicious nigiri and the maki was super tasteful and fresh.

Kichi is not your average sushi restaurant! The customer service is outstanding - friendly and attentive. We got to chat with the chef and watch as he was preparing intricate sushi dishes. The ambiance is just right for an intimate date or place to catch up with friends. We came here just to try their authentic ice cream and were not disappointed. You have to try the cinnamon flavor - soo yummy! They also have an ice cream made from ube and coconut which made my whole mouth purple! Such a fun experience! The restaurant is tucked away around the building so it's a little bit hidden, but don't let that stop you from trying this place. Overall, I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone that is looking for authentic japanese food, good vibes, and a calm relaxing atmosphere.

Lots of parking and located on the side of a bank. I ordered the kichi signature tasting and it wasn't a particularly good deal. I would say that you would have to order more food on top of it to feel full. I think the sushi here is quite pricey, we spent a little over 100$ for two and didn't feel satisfied. Waiters were nice but couldn't explain to us which handroll was which.

Maybe I went on a bad night but the fish at Kichi wasn't good... I love sushi and I love strong tasting fish but I don't think the fish at Kichi was prepared to the optimum level... it tasted "fishy" (not in a good way) and not flavorful. I ordered ALL of the "Kichi Hand Roll" (all 7 of them at the time of this review) to try. The best tasting one to me was the "Maitake Cripy Enoki" because it's the one without any fish in it. One of the chefs gave me a free handroll to try and while this one was slightly better... it's still not what I'm expecting. Usually at a handroll restaurant I can eat it without any soy sauce but at Kichi I feel like I have to go heavy on the sauce in order to get flavor and mask the fishy taste... My friend ordered some traditional nigiri and he thought it was good. So maybe it's just the hand roll quality. The service was great. Every staff member was friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was nice as well. I thought the restaurant itself was kinda hard to find as it's behind the bank building.

Kichi Bar is a fantastic new addition to the sushi scene--just a month in and already impressing. The ingredients are fresh, the rolls are flavorful, and the menu has something for everyone. Service is warm and attentive, which makes the experience even better. The space has a nice modern feel with jazzy background music that sets a relaxed, cool vibe--great for date nights, family dinners, or catching up with friends. Prices are affordable and the portion sizes feel generous. A couple of things to note: parking is a little tricky since some spots are reserved, so you may want to bring your walking shoes until the business grows (valet would be a great option down the road). Also, they don't have alcohol stocked yet, but for now bourbon lovers will be happy to know they're offering complimentary pours until they do. All in all, a promising new sushi spot that's only going to get better. Definitely worth checking out!

The total for everyone was about $275 which I thought was reasonable. Recommend!
