Had heard and read mixed reviews on this place, so finally decided to try it and see for myself. Went on a weekday during lunch and the bf and I tried the dry rub wings. They were really good, and I would probably return just for the wings if nothing else. Also tried the buffalo chicken wrap, which was decent. Our waitress was attentive so we didn't have any issues with service, but I could see how it could be poor service especially during super busy hours. Honestly though, this is more of a bar and chill vibe, so they anticipate you aren't in a rush and don't have expectations. So keep that in mind and just go for the food, not the experience so much. read more

Instead of asking what would we like to drink, she went to complain to the manager who came over and started talking to him like he was a foreigner who didn't speak English. Never ask was there a problem, just automatically showed his authority and in the process showed his racist side. My son and I love... well used to love the boneless wings. They had a flavorful sauce called Habanero Barbecue. When I called in our carryout order tonight, was told they no longer carry that flavor. What no one mentioned is that Kickbacks changed its wings. These tasted like Banquet frozen chicken nuggets that you throw in the oven. Awful. This place does have a nice sporty atmosphere with TVS everywhere and the servers will change the tvs if you request a different game. The beer choices are pretty good, but the price seems to be a little high for the quality and the food has never really been that good. I have tried different things each time hoping to find something I could get consistently but nothing really tasted great. I called in to place a TOGO order at your store 9318 W Broad Street, and was hung up on not once but 3 times before successfully having to place an order. The TOGO specialist finally answered, and took my order and kept cutting me off to talk to a co-worker in the background. I arrived to the restaurant and my order was not placed.. so I had to wait an additional 25 Minutes for my order, so much for ordering await the wait huh? Sometimes you just have to realize that restaurants have their own specialties, and you assume a heck of a lot of risk when you order outside of that range. It's like ordering mac and cheese at an Asian. Now you know good and well you're just asking for it then. Well, guys, this is the mistake I made at Kickback Jack's and I suffered the whole next day for it. Ouch. So, a friend invited me here and we just had wings and pints of cider. Both were really delicious! I mean these wings aren't the best I've ever had, but they're crispy and saucy and pretty darn good. So, when the boyfriend asked if I wanted to go back a couple days later, I said ok! Fair enough. I had just finished working out so I wasn't going to get the wings this time, I saw salmon on the menu and decided to go with that. There should have been red flags, flashing lights, and bull horns all going off at the same time at this point. I was definitely about to make a horrible decision. But I did it anyway. What I received was so sub par it's almost embarrassing. I do not claim to be a good cook by any stretch of the imagination, but I actually prefer my own salmon over what Kickback Jack's gave me. I've never had salmon that tasted the way this one did. For one, the color was very artificial looking. It was a super orange-y color that didn't really look right. Then the texture. It was rubbery. That's the only way I can explain it. It was not the melt-in-your-mouth goodness that salmon usually is. I requested lemons to squeeze on top and not even that splash of citrus could fix it. There was absolutely no taste to it. Not to mention the other items on the plate, veggies and baked potato, were not good either. My boyfriend said that it tasted microwaved and he hit the nail on the head. Just disappointing being that I was starving and trying to be good. He ended up sharing his wings with me (what a good man!) and that held me over. It's a shame that I had this experience because the wings are pretty good and I started off liking this place. Every time I come here, I get let down. I don't even know WHY I bother! Whenever I sit at the bar, the bartender takes at least 10-15minutes to acknowledge my presence. Im sad to have to give a bad review of KBJ but this visit was horrible. It started off wrong from the door. We waited about 20 minutes with a remote thing, it flashed, I handed it the hostess, another girl grabs menus, doesnt say follow me or anything.. just turns and walks away but expected us to follow. We follow, enter dining area, she sees our table hasnt been cleaned off , she stops in her tracks, turns around and walks away.. not one word to us like "im sorry your tables not ready... " nothing.. nada.. crickets.. she left us standing in the middle of the floor. I see her clearing the table..she finished and instead of coming to get us, she goes to a 2nd table and starts to clean it. Totally forgot about us I guess. By this time Id already been to the front desk to ask for help.. other hostess was no help, said "oh shes cleaning the table-no Im sorry..".. so I stopped someone else to get me a manager. He seated us immediatly after I explained. Thank god someone cared about us. Next.. the food.. our new server Kate was great.. I shared our beginning, she assured me she would take good care of us. We ordered the happy hour cruzon bucket for $6.. it was just ok.. there was another one with mango something, I wish that Id ordered that instead. The entrees were not that great either... unfortunatly.. ugh.. I hate, hate, ..hate having to send stuff back because you never know whats going to happen to it.. but my fries looked like the bottom of the basket, overcooked and tiny crumbs etc.. so I asked for better fresher fries.. looked like they just threw some hot ones on top. No bueno. Tasted like grease. Bleh! Onto the normally delicious wings... I ordered grilled.. they were super bland. I was so blown because theyre normally so good. The few times I have been here I have never been disappointed! This service is always been good and yes it's chain food, but for chain it's better than most around here. One thing they do very well is the buffalo chicken sandwich. I am stuck on this every time I come in. This sandwich is huge! The buffalo sauce in this sandwich very pungent, it's awesome. I have to use a fork and eat all of the chicken around the sandwich first because the chicken breast is so large. The fries that come with the sandwich are also very good. They were hot and fresh, not old and cold. The fry portion is decent size also. What was disappointing today were the fried pickles I ordered as an app. They were way overcooked so the pickle was tough inside. I was not fond of the dipping sauce either. Seems to me most places don't use ranch as a dipping sauce for fried pickles, these guys do. The service was great and there were plenty of servers to help out if need be, The restaurant was definitely not shorthanded. Also definitely plenty of TVs if that's what you want, they are everywhere!! *********6/27/17 update************ I have been here three more times since I have done this review twice in the last week alone. And again as I have said before for chain food it is outstanding. The portions are always generous and the price is not ridiculous at all. Currently sitting here and all I can say is that it will be the last. Our waitress is awesome, management not so much. My friend ordered a Moscow mule and it was watered down. According to management, it was watery because you can't add more liquor to it. When we asked to send it back, we were told that all liquor sales were final. I admit this is the first time I've ever heard of this type of policy, but even so, Rebecca the manager went out of her way to not try and rectify the problem by remaking the drink. Our orders had errors and we are still waiting far some food. Likewise at no point did the manager try and apologize or mitigate the situation. Jordan our waitress was super apologetic. Just your average sports bar that concentrates most of their attention to the guys coming in the spend their money. Went in for the Tuesday Hamburger special, only to be told that they were not offering that. When I questioned the server, she went to check and if was verified that the special was valid for today. Had to ask for a straw (picky about drinking from the rim of a glass that I didn't wash). I was never offered extra napkins and server never checked on drink until I had finished my meal. I was surprised that an in house soft drink is over 24 ounces, yet the take out is only about 16. I was also put out that my server was expecting a $3 tip on a $7 meal. My family has been coming to Kickbacks for burgers and fries among other tasty treats for years. I am sad to say that no fries and an up charge for instant cold mashed potatoes and burgers with grit in them were an shocking. However, the female manager's insulting attitude when I talked to her about the cold disappointing food was the clincher. We need a new burger restaurant. I really like this place. Has to be my 10th plus visit. I have had the flounder and shrimp, pizza, most of the wings and burgers. Everything to the side salad is good. Plenty of beer/ drink options. I don't like to talk negatively about people and local businesses but I feel like I have to vent. I visited KBJ for the first time to check it out. I was impressed by the large amount of TV'S throughout the bar, that's what encouraged me to sit at the bar and have a beer and look at the menu. I take a seat and immediately notice the female servers all looked disheveled and sleeveless with large amounts of tattoos. I looked past it and figured they were probably just in training or Temps so I ordered naked hot wings. The wings come out and they were soggy and a few were still a little pink inside. I had enough and paid my tab and just left. I will never go back for those reasons. But, the upside was the bartenders. How could I have not reviewed this place? Wow. So Kickbacks is one of the only chain restaurants that I like. I was skeptical at first because it replaced Tripps (which was like my favorite restaurant) but it's food has definitely changed my heart. I typically get wings and pizza, both are amazing. I like for my wings to be grilled because they taste so stinking good. They also have s really good Cajun shrimp pasta. One of the things I hate about chain restaurants is that they typically give you the most unnatural shrimp because it's cheap but the shrimp here is so big and delicious!! If you're a spin dip type of gal/guy, try it! I think it tastes pretty good. as far as the service, they can definitely do better when it comes to hiring servers. I haven't been here in a while because the service was not good. I ordered wings for takeout today and asked for all flats. She said it would be an extra charge as usual which is fine. I paid for my order. I get my wings and they are not all flats. They took them back, voided what I paid and then ask for my card to charge me the additional 2 dollars for the all flats 1) If I knew they didn't charge me I would have kept the wings 2) you charge me for your mistake ?! I have been here several times, on various days and time of day. I have sat at the bar, in a booth, and at a table in the outdoor bar. Since I am a wing fan, I have had the boneless wings, the grilled wings and the Buffalo chicken sandwich. All are good. Not as many sauces as can be found at BWW, but enough variety to find one to match your tastes. The GM came by and explained their concept as a "sports' restaurant" vs. being a sports bar. I am not sure the food is that much of a cut above to warrant the distinction, but I found the food good. (With two pool tables, in my view, it is a bar!) Beer selection is very good and priced right (and consistent, which is an issue I have had elsewhere - are you reading this BWW?). Food prices are reasonable, too. Burgers and other sandwiches at $8 instead of $10. The buffalo chicken breast on the sandwich I had was huge. But the service is questionable... the wait staff are teens who are loud and only care about the next sound being played in the restaurant so they can take out there cell phone & record each other dancing and singing to it in between servicing you... this is not what i came here for. I'm not a drinker so I can't really say how the bar is, but they serve Pepsi products so I guess that's okay. The standout here is their grilled wings. Fat, tender and juicy, you can also get them sauced for that baked in flavor without the grease of a fried wing. It's usually pretty busy on weekends (Thursday-Sunday) or whenever big games happen, but if you're willing to wait, I'd say stay. It's pretty good and reasonably priced. Ate here with my boyfriend tonight. We ordered the tavern nachos (which is usually my favorite.) We walked in and sat ourselves, just like the sign said to do. We sat for 15 minutes with no greeting from a waitress. Multiple waitresses walked by us and we had to finally stop a waitress to help us out. She put in our order which took 20 mins to come out. First time coming and I will never visit this restaurant again. Was with a group of people and two of the people in the party received their food after everyone else had already ate. The waitress admitted it was their fault. And multiple people said their food wasn't good. The manager Ian came over after being requested and had an attitude as he approached and said he will only give 25% off for forgotten food and that we are lucky we are getting that. After complaining to him that he shouldn't have an attitude and that he wasn't being professional he responded by cussing saying he doesn't give a f@ck if we come back. This place must be really desperate for help if they allow such an incompetent manager. I felt as he was also being racist as he didn't treat other customers of his color this way. I love this place!! They have a variety of wings you can choose from. My favorite is always the grill wings. I do like you can mix the wings to be able to try the variety.
