Recently opened this remodeled location - what I love about this chain is the fact they embrace and keep up with technology - when large flat screens came out they had HUGE frames around the screen - other sports bars still have them - Battleground group that owns this chain started with projection big screens but has quickly move to 90" flat screens!! Posting this because service is wonderful. Madison was a delight to have as a server and bartender, seriously reccommend her as a server if at all possible. Beer selection is impeccable and local, drinks are reasonably priced and vary greatly suiting anyone's taste. Be warned this is a sports bar, if you are expecting anything else, don't come. If that's your bag...come on down and have a good time with these good people. Maybe a internet jukebox might help the music aspect isn't great, very pop oriented. read more

Went here only a few after their grand opening- so as one could expect, it was quite crowded on a Friday evening. They had ample wait staff and hostesses and I was satisfied by the speed of service considering how crowded it was. Friendly enough staff, but wasn't wowed by them. Food was above average for this type of chain restaurant, and I felt it reasonably priced. Decent beer selection too and lots of TVs throughout. However, I feel the placement of the patio and restrooms could have been a bit more convenient. Overall, I prefer this to the Buffalo Wild Wings in town and will return read more

It's gone downhill. Not impressed with the service. The food is pretty good. Service just kind of sucks. I loved it here when it first opened. The place gets kind of crowded with too many drunks but they can't really control what those people do. If you sat in the back porches beware of the drunks playing pool. I hate seeing people being overly picky and then immediately want ALL their food comped. It doesn't work like that. I do love coming here on game days, though. We visited the new Kickback Jacks last night in advance of going to the movie and sad to say our experience was a complete fiasco. It started when the first of three waitresses assure us that the bar staff could make a Perfect Manhattan and that separate checks would be "no problem." First, the Manhattan was a "3" on a scale of 1 to 10. Second when server #3 brought our checks...it was one check. To her credit she did the best she could to make it right, but the individual checks got all messed up and we barely made the movie. The food was nothing on the ordinary. The good news it was not an extreme wait from the time we ordered to delivery to our table. Finally, it is clear that the management team needs to double down on the training and standards for their wait staff. They were totally overwhelmed that led to a poor overall experience. The Sports Bar itself has a good environment. I will check back in a few months to see if the team gets their act together so we can give it another try. read more

Had to go order for $51. After paying bill asked for extra sauce. Was charged another 43 cents. Told order would be ready in 15-20 minutes. It took 35-40 minutes. The wings were undercooked and not very warm. Had to cook them for another 20 minutes. Will not be returning to Kickback. Hickory is much better. read more

Went to the patio one night and ordered beer. They were $3 along with a $5 burger with cheese and fries. I believe there was 2 bartenders a shorter one and one with I believe brown color hair. They were both very nice and prompt with everything. Those girls ran that bar! They didnt let one person go without being greeted. Thanks girls for a good night! read more

Manager is horrible- waitstaff dropped a pizza down my mother's arm...causing burns on her wrist-manager did nothing-i assume staff never alerted him, but when he finally walked by to make a little conversation and we told him what happened, he says let me check on your food...never came back, never did a thing. Stood over with another man watching sports on tv waiting for us to go away. Charged us the entire bill, did not even offer to pay for her lunch after they burned her. I took a photo of her skin. Food is terrible-salmon overcooked, pizza dripping in grease, flat bread sandwich is bread squished a little, not flat bread so very poor description of the food item and steak was tasteless. Do not waste the time or money unless you are just going to drink beer. Me and some friends decided to go and have some drinks and appetizers here on a late Saturday night when we first arrived the hostess was on the phone which we were like whatever that didn't bother us but after she got off the phone she asked if it was just three I guess we didn't answer fast enough so the rude a** hostess yelled at us as if she had lost her mind where they do that at the service here was horrible I don't know who ticked her off on that phone but she took it out on her customers not professional we informed the manager who made her apologize but that was still not acceptable to me I WILL NOT BE BACK!! read more

We went to Kickback's last night about 6:30 PM while the NCAA basketball games were on, so it was busy and noisy. That being said, we were seated in about 10 minutes by a young lady who looked tired and barely spoke to us. Our server was very nice and helpful. I ordered ribs (very tasty, melted in my mouth) and my husband ordered a fish combo, which he enjoyed. No substitutions, by the way. You have to pay extra if you want them. I ordered a Caesar's salad on the side but it never arrived. My husband's flounder never came either. The waitress had to hunt them down. When they came, the portions were very generous. With the loud games, hunting our food down, etc., I give this restaurant a 3 out of 5. I think Lunch would be so much better. read more

Went here with 5 friends. Doesn't look very big from the street but is really roomy inside with high ceilings, lots of big screen tvs, and plenty of cheerful and competent help to serve the mixed clientele of families, millennials, and surprisingly, we seemed to be the only golfers.of all Excellent beer selection, great appetizers, and tasty sandwiches and entrees. Evening began with the 18% gratuity policy (talk) because we had a party of 8. After orders were taken, it took a VERY long time for food to get to table. Items were forgotten. When I finally got my fries, they were literally those fries from the bottom of the bag---bits and pieces that were cold. Skip to the end....we were there to celebrate a birthday. The young lady even had on a birthday sash....AND THE WAITRESS ("V.") FORGOT. When I asked her about it once we were given our checks she said, "birthday, oh, I forgot." I went last night and the food was alright but the skinny girl at the bar was terrible. Her attitude was nasty from the jump. We (myself and cousin) ordered drinks, fries and wings. We were going to pay right then but the rude waitress/bartender didn't give us a chance before she got snappy and said "you need to open a tab I need to hold your debit cards before you move" She didn't offer napkins dipping sauce straws or anything & acted as if me wanting a to go box annoyed her. Great food, great atmosphere. Sometimes when we've been they have had issues getting the orders correct, but that goes along w/ working the kinks out of a new place. 2nd visit in about 3 weeks and it was still a mess..Slow delivery of food again. Grilled Shrimp BLT didn't sound very challenging to me and it was not busy. Finally came out and I don't think the chef knew the difference between grilling and sauteing. Grill means to cook over an open flame. These shrimp did not have one grill mark on them. When I asked the waitress what happened to my shrimp she explained they were grilled in a flat pan in garlic and butter. I said oh so you mean they were Sauteed in a frying pan right??? She had no words. The menu clearly says grilled shrimp comes on this sandwich. You need to change your wording on the menu KICKBACK!! There is a huge taste difference between grilled and sauteed! Get it together. Let's not talk about the fries. I've had better fries at The Cook Out! I won't be going for a third trip here. The beer was good, however you can't really mess up beer in a bottle. My son and a few of his friends went here to eat. His order did not come out correct so he told the waitress. He had ordered the chicken strips and the order came with chicken strips and shrimp. She said she would just bring out extra chicken strips to make the order right. When the bill arrived she had charged him for the shrimp. He told her it was not correct but she refused to fix the bill. He called me (he is a young man of 15)because he needed more money. When I got to the restaurant I spoke to her about the bill not being correct. She said Oh I will fix it. So the bill went from 26 dollars to 19. My son and his friends stated only one of the six orders they received was correct. I spoke to a manager named Patrick about the treatment the waitress had given the boys and he was no assistance at all. As a final review point my son and his friends eat everything and anything secondary to their age but all the boys had plenty left. Their rating of the food.......ICK. read more

What an absolute disappointment in Customer Service from the VP. Certainly at that level one would think that he would be setting the pace of great customer service. On the contrary he literally drilled one of the young ladies in our group to embarrassment. She gave a description of how she wanted her burger prepared and the waitress gave her the terminology to get what she wanted. He returned the burger that she gave back requesting the correct preparation and stood in front of a group and intentionally embarrassed her just so he would not have to give her(the customer) what she asked for. He was there at least 3 minutes with this harassment over a burger that could have been easily re-cooked. He acted like someone shoes sales are down and he just didn't want to use food to recook and give customer service. He is a very dis-courteous man, with the countenance of anger. When I asked him sir why did you do that we are trying to understand why you spent time humiliating her especially when she simply followed your waitress instructions. When he could not answer, he abruptly said in an angry way" I don't have time I have to get these meals prepared, and really I should charge her for the one she sent back and the new one" mind you she did not eat the original burger at all. . Unbelievable. We did get corporate's number but if everyone is like him I'm sure we won't get any better response. He really should not have that position. Maybe more administrative where people are not involved. (much like Brandy B's response on these reviews, they won't do anything above and beyond basic to satisfy their customers). They came to Southern Pines just a little while ago and we can't wait for someone else to replace them. Some things just aren't meant to be and Kick Back Jacks is not meant to be in a family town like ours. Very disrespectful and non-caring.
