Absolutely obsessed with this coffee shop. It's definitely on the smaller size, so more of a drop in type of ordeal and not so much a place to get work done. Pricing is fair! The avocado toast was delicious and the matcha in my latte was *chefs kiss*. I did ask for vanilla flavoring in my matcha and unfortunately I think they forgot to add it -- I had already left by the time I tried to the drink so I couldn't get it fixed. But other than that small oopsie everything was great. If you visit, make sure to check out the bathroom. Super random tip but it's very cute inside!

    Espresso macchiato

I'm a coffee snob, and I've heard about Kid Dream for a long time, but I had never made it in. Since I got a home espresso machine during the pandemic, I find most cafes to offer less quality at a higher price than simply making my coffee at home. Usually, I buy my beans while visiting family in the PacNW. (I fly home to see my aging parents about every other month.) This month, I ran out of beans before my next scheduled trip, so my choice was to order online and wait for satisfying coffee, or visit a local shop. Kid Dream offers a high quality cup! I sipped my espresso macchiato before I thought to take a photo, so the foam art is distorted in the image I'm uploading. The barista showed skill in spite of my poor photo. I usually drink black espresso, but, trying a new place for the first time, I find a macchiato less likely to disappoint. I'll get espresso next time I visit Kid Dream. Parking is on the street, so that could be a challenge at certain times of day. I was able to park nearby (within a few parking spots of the door) on a summer weekday, late morning. The shop is small, but there is seating, and a restroom is available for patrons. (Always a plus in a coffee shop!) On a very hot day, it was warm inside in spite of some air conditioning. The beans I brought home were well roasted and no hardship to use while I waited to visit my regular spot. I will happily purchase coffee from Kid Dream again when I want to buy local, though they don't have the range of single origin beans that my favorite Washington state chain offers.

I wanted to try Kid Dream Coffee Company because it was listed as best coffee shop in Massachusetts in 2022 by Food & Wine magazine. It's about a 12 minute walk from Beverly Station if you are taking the commuter rail. Kid Dream offers a variety of quality beans such as Little Wolf and Ilse. For my first visit to a new coffee shop, I usually test the waters with a latte. I ordered the dreamsicle, and was able to enjoy it because it wasn't overly sweet. I would NOT skip out on the labne toast ! It's perfect for a little something for breakfast with labne (which I learned was like a Middle Eastern style yogurt) and orange marmalade. Staff is friendly and helpful especially when I became asking questions about the beans. Most customers seem to take their coffee and snacks to-go, but there is some seating inside and outside. There is some residential parking in front of the building for those that drive. I will definitely be back to try more of their coffee offerings that's not a latte!

I went here for the first time this morning after being told that Kid Dream has the best matcha in the area. It did not disappoint! I had a matcha latte with oat milk and one of their sweetener shots and it was delicious! The workers were very friendly and helpful when I didn't know where to look on the menu, haha.. And there is quite a bit of seating for such a small space. I originally went to complete some work in the cafe (taking advantage of their free wifi!), however I found the atmosphere not very conducive to productivity. Whether it was because of the noise level, seating, or bright sun I don't know, but this is definitely more of a cafe to sit and chat with friends!

Coffee and fancy toast done right! I came here for a quick bite and coffee. I ordered the espresso and nutty toast, $9 exact, quite a fair price. I went on a Saturday morning so it was pretty busy and had to wait around 5-7 mins for it but it was worth it. I'm vegan so it was nice to have a couple options on the menu. The toast was awesome, super thick slice, toasted just right with heaps of almond butter and honey. Espresso was good and side of carbonated water was appreciated. I was glad that they served my "dine in" coffee in a real cup as apposed to disposable (which I see too often). The ambience is cute, intimate, big windows flood the place with light and theres a view of a big mural. Staff was very friendly and helpful too!

Short story - clean and streamlined interior. Small selection of baked goods, a drink menu with customizable option and a few rotating/seasonal items. Longer story - A lovely local lady pointed me, a yearly visitor, in the direction of this shop when she heard we were on the hunt for hot chocolate. I AM SO GLAD SHE EAVESDROPPED!!! Personally, this is the type of place I am deeply passionate about. It is small, locally owned and operated, and is named for a dream fulfilled. The owners literally had a dream to open a shop like this since they were kids. I don't know them besides the friendly service they gave me once (I'll be back next time I'm in the area), so it feels odd to say that I'm so proud of them. The store is a blend of merch to buy and coffee shop type food/drinks to order. I tried their moon milk, which was gingery and earthy, a hot chocolate, and chocolate chip cookie. Since chocolate chip cookie expectations vary widely, I won't venture to say these were the perfect cookie for everyone. But it was chocolaty, sweet, and filled the carb craving. I would HIGHLY recommend you stop in for at least one thing.n

I was visiting beautiful downtown Beverly and searching for a spot with great coffee and (fingers…read morecrossed) some gluten-free pastries. I found Crave through the Find Me Gluten-Free app, and the high ratings definitely lived up to the hype! It was just a quick, easy drive, and the bakery was easy to spot. Inside, it's super cute, clean, and welcoming. The menu was surprisingly full of gluten-free options--from breakfast sandwiches to coffee drinks--and their pastry case had about 8-10 different gluten-free and/or dairy-free goodies. I went with the blueberry lemon scone and WOW. It was unreal. Moist and cake-like (not dry and crumbly like many GF scones), with a light glaze and a perfect lemony-sweet flavor. I literally almost cried--it was that good. I savored every bite and was honestly glad I don't live closer, or I'd be there every single day. I also grabbed a cold brew, which they brew in-house and serve on tap. It was strong, smooth, and delicious--just how I like it. Whether you're gluten-free by choice or necessity, Crave is a must-visit. Friendly staff, delicious options, and a cozy vibe--what more could you want? Do yourself a favor and stop in. You won't be disappointed!

We did not have a good experience…read more First, the online ordering system leaves a lot to be desired. We were in the middle of placing an order and they shut down their online system for 15 minutes. So we waited. Two egg sandwiches, one croissant, a coffee with an espresso shot, a hot latte and a chai tea latte. Nothing unusual. Their system said the order would be ready two minutes after it was placed. That's just silly, so we waited 10 minutes before heading over. We arrived and picked up our bag with all the items listed on the receipt and headed back. Turns out, two items were missing that we had already paid for. We now headed back once again to Crave. We thought that maybe we forgot a bag, but no, they just failed to add two items and let us leave. "We tried to call you but your line was busy," was the answer, but that's simply not true. I wasn't on the phone and I have a cell phone -- busy signals do not apply. There was no record of an incoming call either. The attitude of staff was not apologetic whatsoever. A simple, "We're so sorry" would have sufficed. One of the items we had ordered was now out of stock. In fact, one staff member said, "You're the third customer today who didn't get their cinammon croissant," which only revealed the failure of their ordering process. With limited options, we chose the Nutella croissant as a substitute. Returned home and finally ate. One sandwich was delicious (bacon-egg-cheese on a ciabatta roll) but the other had sriracha instead of ketchup as requested -- made a big difference in taste which we did not like. The replacement pastry we were forced to choose tasted very stale and not so much of Nutella. Coffee with a shot and the latte didn't taste particularly strong. Iced chai latte was fine, but nothing to write home about. Not worth $54 -- including a tip for staff that we wished we could rescind. Would NOT return, especially not with all the breakfast options in Beverly. Hard pass.

Food (savory course): I told the server I was vegetarian. She told me that they would bring out extra vegetarian sandwiches, which they did not do. I was stuck there eating bread with a sliver of cucumber (too thin for a crunch) a thin swipe of cream cheese, and one to two flattened micro green sprouts in there. I was hungry and the other sandwiches looked great. Dessert 1 (scone course): Didnt recognize it. they gave us a dry lemon scone with a heck of a lot of icing on top. No cream, no butter, one factory processed jar of strawberry jam. Nothing to ease into the desserts. Dessert 2 (sweet course): All horribly sweet. Madeline was dry and had a hunk of chocolate or something on top. Not at all what I expect a Madeline to be (oven-fresh) and again too sweet. Petit fours: they somehow did this one well. Cream puff: winner. elderflower in this was excellent and it was light fluffy and fresh. Chocolate lumps: no one ate this. Macarons: too sweet. Almond one everyone but my dad hated. The purple one we thought was overly sweet without much flavor but was better than the almond. Chocolate ball with raspberry: intense flavor, pretty good, not sure what was up with the sprinkles. Honestly this is the second time I've been unimpressed, and after the staff fully disconnecting with the kitchen/customer I dont think I'll be back.
