From the incredible leadership of Miss Shannon and Miss Heather to every single teacher and teacher's aide, every person at this school has made a lasting impact on our family, especially on our daughter. They have loved her, encouraged her, celebrated her milestones, and helped shape her into the confident, curious, and kind little girl she is today. The kids enjoy sensory play regularly & a lot of art is incorporated into their days. My son knows his days of the week & is identifying more letters & numbers as his time here progresses. Ms. Christy runs her business so well. I'd give her ten stars if I could. She is very timely with anything administrative & also is so engaging with the students. I watched her help a new student acclimate by playing trains with them the other day & it made me really happy to see that she cares so much. All of the teachers we've had, Ms. Yessenia, Ms. Marina & Ms. Michelle have been exemplary. I truly appreciate the effort they make & the work they do to both educate and nurture. I've witnessed Ms. Michelle help a child who spilled in such an affirming & positive way; on a day my son was having a tough time with drop off she comforted & helped him which made both of us feel a little better. Ms. Marina is wonderfully receptive & I appreciate her going out of her way to connect with me & to reassure me. My son really loves both of them & Ms. Christy so much. Every morning when we arrive he excitedly calls out their names & is so happy to see them! I'm beyond grateful we found this school. It truly has been the perfect fit & I'm so thankful for the way it's ran & the staff that makes the kid's days so joyful & fun. When we went for the initial interview we met with Janiel, the owner and primary caregiver. We found that she is incredibly enthusiastic about being around little ones. She is very serious about her profession, and her sweet and gentle disposition is perfectly suited for what she does. My son never has a problem being dropped off and he is always in a good mood when I pick him up. They even feed the kids organic fruits and vegetables grown from their own garden!! Safety was our first concern. Ahren's access control is on point. Normally Mr John is in his office and monitors access if not there is a teacher on duty. You have to walk through the front door to access the care center. Education was our second concern. Every child in day care is taught to prepare for kindergarten. It seems like our child moving from kindergarten is ready for 2nd grade. Communication and kindness. Ahren's staff are very communication heavy. They made going through Covid easy and painless. They call and email information as well as group and one on one face to face. Ahren's is not your typical day care or education institution, it's a family, you feel like family. They do not check to see if the kids actually ate . They are not allowed to bring in their own water . There is no one securing the entrance/ exit . One instructor told me my daughter ate this and that . It was strange because I know my daughter is picky . I asked my daughter what she ate that day and she said nothing . Goes to show they will lie to the parents to make it look like they did a good job taking care of your kids . The director or woman in charge is very careless . There was issues with my fees and she did not do much to help . Everytime i tried to cancel our reservations she would try to convince me not to . I ended up not needing a reservation that she basically tricked me into keeping "just in case" . I had to pay 2 weeks of child care I never used. Will not recommend this place especially if you have kids that cannot speak yet . Who knows what they go through and there is no way for you to know because they will lie to protect their business .
