On a later call, the owner personally told me that although the time was open, she would not schedule it because it was "too late for my son to be outside." Let that sink in. Not because of staffing. Not because the slot wasn't available. But because she decided, as the provider, that 7pm was inappropriate for my child. As a parent, I make decisions about my child's schedule -- not a business owner. If there were operational limitations, that could have been communicated professionally. Instead, the reasoning was judgmental and paternalistic. Families seeking therapy services deserve respect, flexibility, and professional boundaries. Unfortunately, this interaction showed a concerning lack of all three. We chose to take our business elsewhere.

My disabled 79 year old mom who already walked gingerly with a rollator has been in and out of the…read morehospital this year for an ongoing medical issue (and then covid contracted in hospital) and she had weakened considerably. Her home visits with physical and occupational therapists from VNS came to an end and she was discharged and I was looking for more PT and OT for her in the house (after getting a prescription for more sessions from her GP). She was too weak to get to a PT office as frequently as she needed the services. At Home provides PT and OT house calls by amazing therapists! I had at first gone with another company for this a few years ago when my mom needed services after knee replacements. That company couldn't find me available people for a month and half, they told me, so I called At Home (two PTs I knew recommended the company). This company hires EXCEPTIONAL therapists (shout out to her brilliant therapists Elisa and Rachel!) who are soooo gifted, compassionate and flexible. They always tailor my mom's sessions perfectly, she always feels extremely challenged but they never push her too far given her limitations and they are very creative about ways to strengthen her lower and upper body and particularly her core. I have noticed that she is walking up her steep ramp out of her building with much more balance and strength and her gate seems stronger, faster and more aligned. She is just so much stronger since sessions began. My mother has had A LOT of different therapists over time because she's severely disabled and has multiple orthopedic issues so we are not wet behind the ears, so when I say these practitioners are uniquely amazing, it's an informed opinion. They also stay for a really long time and they are so focused and humanistic. A word about the back office: Kareshma (the manager who did intake and found the providers) and any other person I have dealt with at this company are amazing! They are so diligent and on top of things and compassionate and friendly. They even followed up to see if we were happy with the service and whether the practitioners made scheduling easy (they had, the PT and OT bent over backwards to accommodate my mom's schedule and make sure they weren't coming on the same days)... I had found the other company I went with previously (Fox) abysmal administratively, just the pits. It would take multiple calls and emails before I would hear back when I had an issue (regarding intake or billing or finding a second PT when the first one left the company) and to begin with, it would take many weeks for the services to start... Nobody was particularly friendly when you would call, I felt like everyone was burnt out and annoyed even when we would initiate service. In stark contrast, the admin workers are so lovely and smart and caring and they make the process so seamless and easy for exhausted caregivers and disabled people who are overwhelmed by their medical challenges. the services have been a saving grace for my mom and I am just so grateful. One last note is that I just asked and they do indeed offer out-of-pocket services for people who aren't insured or person has maxed out on the services covered by Medicare. I'm not sure we can swing it financially but the fee mentioned seemed appropriate for a house call.

Super clinical and zero emotions or warmth. After 5 minutes she just said I can't help you; zero milk. I felt bad for about 2 days then did formula and gave up on breastfeeding. Best thing I ever did was formula feeding my baby.
