THANK YOU YELP for helping me find this gem of a place! I thought my eyebrows were destined for wackness after a tragic threading incident left them mismatched and utterly horrid looking. Every threader would tell me to grow hair in "here" (and then point to some magical place on my eyelid where hair doesn't grow) and inform me they couldn't thread more to make my eyebrows normal again. I had to grow it all in. Ok, awesome, I'll relay that info to my hair follicles, I'd frown. But then one day, I took a leap of faith and a chance on Kiki, and homegirl turned it alllllll around. I first came to Kiki's 3 months ago, and after several successful, stellar visits, my eyebrows have transformed from wack and mismatched to beautifully shaped and symmetrical. Kiki's a magician (I went to her first and won't go to anyone else.. although I'm sure everyone else at the salon is excellent!!!) and she will be very honest about what suits you. I've been coming to this location to see Kiki for my eyebrows for several years now. My eyebrows grow back so quickly and she knows exactly how to clean them up every 2-3 weeks. This is a terrific little threading place, and I'd never have found it without the assistance of Yelp, since I'm just visiting for the summer and not familiar with salons in the area. You can get waxing done at almost any nail salon, but you have to do a little detective work to find a salong that practices threading. Believe me, it's worth the extra effort! For those of you unfamiliar with threading, it is quickly replacing waxing as the preferred method of removing unwanted hair from the facial area. I hear that threading has been around for centuries in places like Turkey, iran, and India. Leave it to us Americans to finally be getting on the bandwagon; better late than never right? Practicioners of threading use thread instead of wax to remove hair much faster than waxing and with no more pain and much fewer unwanted side effects. When I used to get my eyebrows waxed they would first remove my eye makeup, then put hot wax on my skin which would leave it bright pink and puffy for at least an hour, not exactly the way I want to be walking around town without reapplying cosmetics to the affected areas. When they are done threading, all my makeup is still intact and there is no residual puffiness. I can walk right out of the salon and be confident that nobody can tell that I've just had work done. When I arrived there was no line and I was ushered right to the chair. Several people came in while she was working on me, but I was in and out of the shop in about 5 minutes so they didn't have long to wait either. Best of all, the threading process was very affordable. You can get your both eyebrows and your lips done for $16 bucks; I'm not sure how much it is for eyebrows alone. That is way cheaper than I used to pay for waxing! The salon was decorated attractively and the two ladies working there were quite friendly. Kiki is great for a quick brow clean up for $12. I've been in a handful of times and I've always been in and out in 10 minutes. I always let them know that I don't want my brows too thin-once they went a little overboard and my brows were thin but luckily grew back. You can drop in any time so no need for an appointment. Went here to get my eyebrows done yesterday, and was surprised to hear they are charging people $15 just for an eyebrow threading. Originally $12, but they said $3 more for an "extra shaping fee". I only asked for a cleanup and to keep my eyebrows thick. I personally think this is absolutely ridiculous to be charging people extra because you couldn't get your eyebrows "shaped" during quarantine. I was shocked to hear this so I called their Blackhawk location to see if that's what they're doing everywhere. I called and said: Me: "What is your price for just eyebrow threading" Kiki: "$15". Me: "I was just charged an extra shaping fee, is this true?" Kiki: "yes, an extra $3" Me: "so what is the price for just normal eyebrows?" Kiki: "Normal eyebrows is $12". So yes, it seems like they are possibly charging everyone the extra $3 to reshape because of extra growth. Sorry that we have been in quarantine for 3+ months and haven't been able to "upkeep". That is like going to get a haircut and your hair being too long, so they charge you more. Ridiculous in my opinion. Eyebrows looked fine but I am always iffy on the service and treatment I receive from here. Kiki has always been unprofessional, every experience I've had here. I'm very disappointed in this salon. I used to come here all of the time for threading. I got my lashes done by Sheila and she completely ruined my lashes. My eyelids were PURPLE and swollen. Again, my usual store was closed. This is my updated review, Kiki (owner) was able to help me this time. Let me just say she did a really nice job keeping the brows even, could've been thinner if she was more methodical but that is fine. Upper lip... Ehh... I know the hair is barely visible but as long as you so over every spot it should be fine. Upper lip could've been done a little better and I didn't notice until I got home. Cool thing about this place is that they do a virtual stamp card, bad thing about this is I, and probably some others, are too lazy to download the app and set it up lol. I have been coming to Kiki Brows for over 3 months now for routine eyebrow threading. Obviously I love it, I came in the first time with no appointment and wanted perfectly shaped brows. She threaded my brows into a completely different look, and it was so much better. She explained that the hair needed to grow more in some of the places and the shape would really start to look nice. Sure enough, she was incredibly right. I get compliments on my brows from the woman who does my hair, by makeup artists, and by random people I talk to. I always refer them here. I've never had waxing so I can't tell you how it compares, but I can tell you that she knows what she is doing and it is very painless. Beats plucking any day. This is the last time I will ever go to Kiki's. I recently moved up from LA, where I had an amazing brow salon that helped me to FINALLY be happy with my Brows, and the 4 times I have gone to Kiki's has completely set that progress back. They consistently make my eyebrows too thin and have completely messed up the arch, even after I have tried to explain that I am trying to grow my brows to be thicker but still shaped- I have even shown pictures. I hate kiki brows. They don't even deserve capital letters. I used to be such a supporter and fan of your threading I have been going here for years. But I went and set up an appointment for lash extensions and when I got there they told me to "wait a minute" while they all went to the back and started laughing at me. One woman walked back out and told me they don't "do men". I was completely and utterly shocked and when I asked why she just shrugged and walked away. I later learned this isn't the first incident that has happened regarding blatant unreasonable denies service of homosexuals. I've been going to Kiki Brows for years now for eyebrow threading with mixed results. Some of the technicians are very good, others not so much. Today was the worst I've ever had. I specifically told the technician that the skin beneath my eyebrows is sensitive (I've been cut multiple times there in the past) and to be gentle. She began threading, pressing very hard on the delicate skin, and I reminded her not to press so hard. She continued to do so while threading both eyebrows and left me with a rash/cuts on both sides. She also did an awful job cleaning up my brows and took off WAY too much on the end of one side. I can honestly say I will never go back. I will just tweeze them myself...at least I know I won't be injured! read more

First time getting our brows threaded. It was the beginning of February when we decided to just do it. We didn't have an appointment, We were walk-ins. Immediately after walking in the lady was pretty short with us. Lol whatever it's about 1/2 in the afternoon. Me and my friend we're having a good day.. So we sat down. The lady who was short with us upon entrance just happened to be threading my eyebrows. I tried to relax as I laid there, but as she got up on me her demeanor was very aggressive. She immediately just jumped into the threading lmao and she nicked me. We exchanged a couple of words (non were argumentative nor heated) and I explained it was my first time. Afterwards, she was very mild lol but all in all... I'd definitely be back. Maybe she was having a bad morning idk, but damn sis that was painful I had tears(and not them I haven't gotten them waxed in a min tears). I'm just glad I could laugh about it in the moment and still. She did an awesome job on my brows. I have a natural arch and I like to enhance it a little and she even got that right.
