Mmmm! My wife, kids, and I went here for a late dinner. We got parked (free) with no problems, and had to wait for about 10 minutes to seat 7 of us (family and a couple of kids' friends). Service was great, and a very comfortable environment. We all had to go with the Umaya ramen because it looked so good, and it was. It was a perfect balance of flavors, noodles were cooked perfectly, and it came in just the right amount. Everyone left with big happy smiles from the delicious food and wonderful experience.
Came on a Friday night and joined the Yelp waitlist--we were seated immediately. Service was quick and efficient, and our waiter checked in often. The Umaya ramen was really good with strong flavor even without spice. The spicy tonkatsu had perfectly cooked noodles, but the chili was just okay. The pork belly was decent, but the pico de gallo over rice felt a bit off. Overall, great experience--big plus for efficiency.

We were seated by the bar area which is nicely decorated, but do expect traffic behind you from people coming and going. We ordered the black tonkotsu ramen and spicy tonkotsu ramen. Black Tonkotsu Ramen- This has a creamy tonkotsu broth base with black garlic oil. You get woodear mushrooms and soft boiled egg for added bulk and texture. I loved the savory broth and the chewy noodles. Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen- The tonkotsu broth has a bit of a kick and they do accomodate requests to add spice on the side. You also get green onions, woodear mushrooms, and a soft boiled egg. The noodles are the perfect amount of chewiness and the dish is filling and comforting. Great experience overall!
I think we have found our go-to ramen place in Cerritos! Food was excellent, priced fairly, and great service. We ordered Black Garlic Tonkatzu. The soup was excellent, and it's not too salty like many other ramen places. I ordered extra hot water on the side just in case, and I didn't have to use. My wife likes her noodles al dente and it came out perfectly. I like my noodles softer, asked and got what I liked. Only thing is their portions seem slightly smaller than normal, and only 1 piece of meat and half of an egg. This was ok for us as we are not too much a big eater, and I liked the soup a lot so I nearly drank it all. Strongly recommending to order extras for a larger appetite. Our squid legs appetizer was a great addition, it was gone in no time.

Broth was good, loved the toppings. My son got the kids ramen! Edamame you can get it just boiled, or garlic charred , or spicy! We got boiled with some salt and it was fine. Fries? Didn't want to risk it, we didn't get the seasoned version with the Japanese chili spice, just salt, and the fries out 3 different dipping sauces! Overall? We would come back to try another item or two! Yes food was average overall but will try other items! They ah e a LOT to choose from! There are plenty of parking spaces. I ordered the Tonkotsu Ramen and it has chashu pork belly and pork tonkotsu broth. The broth was really creamy and delicious. This place hit the spot! We got the spicy tonkotsu & the spicy miso ramen, both were super flavorful with the right amount of heat (nothing too spicy, BUT you can ask for extra chili sauce). The tonkotsu broth was rich, creamy, and felt like a warm hug , everything you want in a ramen bowl. Esp when you're feeling under the weather! The spicy miso had a deeper, bolder flavor that was soooo satisfying. Noodles were perfectly chewy, and the toppings were fresh & generous. It's a great spot across the Cerritos mall if you're craving a solid bowl of ramen. Chill vibes, fast service, and the portions are the perfect amount. Definitely coming back to try the rest of the menu! Btw, this place is actually big & has a bar side?!
This place was awesome! Went here for the first time tonight and the service was so great. The entire staff was incredibly nice and attentive. Our server, I think his name was Nick, was the absolute best! He had a great attitude and really paid attention to everyone. The food was also really good! The squid legs were so yummy and the ramen had a very flavorful broth. Overall I'd be happy to come back here anytime!
eh just not good tbh. food wise, service wise, and ambiance wise. we wanted to try something new, so we came on new years. however, i have been putting off this review. the guy at the front was helpful. he was managing the waitlist. we waited, but it was pretty short. the inside is pretty dim and we sat towards the back by the kitchen, so we felt some heat. starting off with the food. we got the umaya sampler that comes with various fried items, as well as the umaya ramen and the shrimp tempura udon. in the sampler, it is just some frozen foods (i believe) that were fried. the onion rings looked and tasted burnt. other than that, nothing special. the umaya ramen was lacking in flavor, but the toppings were alright. i rather drive a little further down to long beach to go to jinya. the shrimp tempura udon had a nice dashi tasting broth, but i wish they had put the tempura on the side. by the the time the bowl arrived, the shrimp and tempura bits were soggy. besides the food, service was mediocre. when dropping off the check, the guy slid it at my hubby and the receipt went flying. after getting checked out, another guy slid the tray and the card shot at my hubby !! as opposed to gently setting it down. would i come back ? probably not, unless i ran out of gas on the way to jinya.

My boyfriend and I ended up here after one of those nights where your plans don't go as planned. We spent the day shopping, went back to his house for a quick nap before dinner, and accidentally woke up at 10 PM. Since most places were closed, I searched Apple Maps and found Umaya Ramen, about 20 minutes from Long Beach and open until 1 AM. The restaurant was packed when we arrived, but we were seated right away. The menu looked great, and I was excited to see Shirley Temples on the drink menu. We ordered the Pork Belly Oshi and the Rock Shrimp Tempura to start. The Pork Belly Oshi was good, though I wish the rice had been crispier. The Rock Shrimp Tempura was delicious--the creamy spicy sauce was so good. I ordered the Tonkotsu Ramen (no mushrooms because my boyfriend is allergic) and added the small Chashu Rice Bowl for $5. The broth was amazing--rich and creamy without being too heavy. The rice bowl was good too, though I wish the mayo on top had a little spice. Adding chili oil and sriracha fixed that. My boyfriend got the Chicken Shoyu Ramen, and after stealing a sip of his broth, I can confirm it was delicious too. The service was excellent. The host was super friendly and gave manager/owner vibes, our server was great, and other staff members checked on us throughout the meal. Our bill was around $70 for two people, including appetizers, drinks, ramen, and the extra rice bowl. We even had leftovers to bring home, so I thought it was a great value. Overall, a really solid late-night spot with great service and food. We'd definitely come back. read more

Have visited a few times the past couple of years. I was never really a fan - I mainly just visited because someone else would be craving ramen and this was just a convenient spot. After trying a few items from their ramen menu, I finally found the perfect one for me: the Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen. It comes with a side of chili paste so you can control the heat level, and not only is it flavorful but it cuts through the greasiness. I also ordered a side of the Glazed Pork Belly. Though it was $3 for a very small portion, it was tender and mildly sweet. There are other items in the menu, including keto ramen, upon, rice bowls, and fusion dishes such as pasta and jambalaya. The interior has very simple decor. The place is pretty bare except for a few tables and posters promoting some of their menu items. Service is quick and attentive. read more

Let me explain the picture real quick.. I've been keto for like over 7 years now or something and the second I saw keto ramen I drove over here with my girlfriend. It came out and I devoured it.. I added the chili paste and the chili oil.. it was over it was done.. I got it sumo sized.. I'm pretty sure I'm in love.. service was great ambiance is chill.. just a bunch of people slurping food! Their ramen is so good, we really enjoy coming here. The staff is nice, never had a problem any of times we've being here. Large menu and variety, I recently found out they had cocktails!?? And I had to try some, tasty as well and not watered down. Only bad thing is the parking lot, it's in a busy plaza so not their fault but that's honestly the only reason why we don't go as often as we'd like. read more

Don't get their shrimp udon, very bland and no flavor at all. As well as there strawberry lychee tea unfortunately but there was some. I tasted their ramen and it was alr, their fried were pretty okay and there Takoyaki balls were actually so good! Service was great and very nice servers also very clean. read more

Felt like the Ramen was not authentic not good flavors cold when I took it to go. Barely any noodles were in this bowl and they charged me extra for mushrooms when I just said remove the cabbage and bean sprout. I told the guy put lots of hot sauce and chili and he barely put any Will not be back. read more

Went on a Sunday lunch around 12:30. Not too busy surprisingly. Food came out quickly and was a really good. I got the Umaya Ramen and added the curry rice. Both were great. It's definitely a spot that hits the ramen craving well and the service was quick since it wasn't too crowded. Definitely not the best ramen I've had, but it does the job. Can't complain. read more

Still amazing! I first came here 2 years ago with our group of friends and I like it since then. My girl and I came back here again this week and still great as I remembered. The ambiance is still the same.. with the Tokyo vibes going on. Their services are always good and accommodating. The food still hits the spot :) I ordered their Tonkatsu Black, which our server explained the difference between a regular Tonkatsu. He said it's they use a different sesame oil or charcoaled of some sort. I can taste difference and I like it. The meat is so tender and the noodles are cooked to perfection. We then ordered a big Sapporo bottle to quenched our taste buds. My girl like it as well and we had a fun time in our mini date night. Overall, this is a solid place to be to get some ramen.. definitely one of my go-to spots :) read more

Came on a Sunday around 1PM and our party of 5 was seated right away. We ordered the salt & pepper fries and garlic butter shrimp pasta to split, and I also split the karaage bento box with my sister. The fries were hot, crispy and peppery. The pasta was very garlicky but tasty and creamy, good to share but I couldn't eat a whole portion by myself. The karaage bento box was nice and came with a variety of foods. Our party of 5 came around 1 pm on a Sunday and were seated right away. Mall parking can be hard since there's many eating places around. We ordered the salt and pepper fries and garlic butter shrimp pasta to share and I also shared the karaage bento box with my sister. The fries were hot, crispy, seasoned well with pepper, and a good portion to share. The pasta was very creamy and garlicky but pretty good, and good for sharing since I don't think I can eat the whole thing myself. The karaage was also crispy and tasty and a good portion. Service was nice and pretty quick. read more
