Service is slow but because of the satisfying food and cool vibes, I'd give Killer Noodle another try. We were surprised by the trendy interior, red walls and black accents, red chandelier and neon sign. Prices are good and the menu is not overwhelming. You can get many noodle dishes dry or with soup. White Mabo noodles, spice level 3 - it came almost mixed with a white gravy. Mildly flavored but this supposed average spice level wasn't at all spicy. Didn't care as the dish tasted good and the dry noodles were chewy as described on the menu. It came with an overcooked poached egg, the yolk was jammy. I didn't bother sending it back because service was slow. Our server gave minimal effort. They seemed understaffed. I politely approached our server about when my food would come out and she pointed to a tray with it as she handled a take out order. Vegetable Ramen - My friend would not come back. Big bowl, she added chicken and got a perfectly poached egg. Maybe next time I'll sit in the spacious patio to people watch in case service again is slow. Would be good to have their lunch combo special.

Fun place, and was actually my last bowl of ramen while still in town. Had the Dandan Ramen with side of Chashu Pork for toppings. Loved the broth here, rich and flavorful, with a nice amount of spice.

Spicy ramen in Sawtelle! I tried the dry ramen version of the white mabo, the ramen had a nice texture and the sauce was tasty. As someone who can't handle spice, the level 2 was good enough for me, as long as you don't mix in the chilis that they give you on the side! I made the mistake of doing so, and it ended up being way too spicy for my taste. The interior is aesthetic and modern, and set it was quick. Overall this spot was good, especially if you're trying to avoid long lines, but sawtelle definitely had better spots.

I tried their dan dan noodles dry without peanut butter and I thought it was very good. The taste was very vinegary and the noodles had a nice chewy texture. My only complaint is compared to the other dishes such as the mapo tofu noodles or the white mapo, the portion was significantly smaller for the same price since it didn't contain anything other than noodles. Service was 10/10, servers were attentive. There is a valet lot right next to the restaurant but is only free for one hour. $10 after that.

Food and service were excellent today at lunch. I went with the omelette fried rice, gyoza, edamame, and pork bun. Eric was my server and helped guides through the menu and also told me about the different drinks. The place is very clean and they play fun music. The entire staff is so friendly. Looks like they have a late night happy hour as well which I will be checking out :)

Spontaneously decided to try out Killer Noodle! Fun naruto theme! Two of us ordered: downtown ramen (level 1) $17.95 tokyo dry (level 1) $17.95 +$2 for a large Quite a bit of seating inside. I think probably worth to just bump to a larger bowl. Fun flavors. Street parking only.

Best ramen in la! I loved the Dan Dan ramen with the peanut butter! Sooo delicious! I of course removed all pork and still it was the best ramen I've had in la! Valet parking in the back = $10 after first hour Wait time was kinda annoying = 1 hour - as they don't take resies.

Killer Noodle Tsujita is known for Dan Dan Noodles where you can choose the flavor of Ma-La (numbness and spiciness) from 0-6. The high heat levels are spiced with ghost peppers, so beware... it is no joke. For the food: There are ramen and dry style versions of noodles. My go-to is the Tokyo DanDan Dry Style. I love the creaminess that the peanut butter gives to the dish. The standard is 3/3. If it's your first time, I'd recommend trying that. I've lost my spice tolerance, so I stick with level 2/1. Split the Karaage with the table.

    soft shell crab ramen (seasonal)

Simply amazing! In the past, I always thought Killer Noodle was super heavy. But this time I tried the seasonal promotion soft shell crab ramen and it was just so delicious. The fried soft shell crab was obviously the star of the show, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. On top of that, you get crab meat in the soup too. I wish they had it year round but I understand how hard it is to come by soft shell crabs. I do have to say, service was pretty slow that day. Granted I went on New Year's day, I get staffing is an issue but I seriously waited at least half an hour if not more for the ramen. I didn't even go at a busy hour (around 2PM). The servers were pretty nice though. And I gotta say, the interior of the spot was pretty cool - everything is painted red and it looks like a blend between a traditional and modern look. Would highly recommend this spot.

This was my first trip to Killer Noodle, and I am absolutely hooked! We went on a Sunday evening, and it wasn't very busy--we were seated right away. The inside was amazing, with dimly lit red lighting and murals on the walls. The staff were extremely friendly and attentive. For the food, my husband ordered the Tokyo Ramen at spice level 5 with added chashu pork. It was absolutely delicious and also my first time trying Dan Dan-style ramen. The real star of the show, though, was my Soft-Shell Crab Dan Dan. It's currently their holiday special, and the flavors were absolutely amazing and piled high with fresh crab and top with a soft shell crab. Highly recommend if you're a ramen lover or looking to try something bold and flavorful.

Haven't had Killer Noodle in years. Killer Noodle x Naruto collab with limited menu items. Tomato bomb dandan - tomato infused noodles, tomato, nikumiso, cashew, white sesame, chili oil, cilantro. Was only available in October. Did not have an adjustable spice level. The level it was served at a bit of heat but was not overwhelming. Really well balanced between the tomato acidity, chili oil heat, and savory meat. Noodle were perfect texture. Restaurant did seem a bit understaffed. Only a couple people working yet the restaurant was 70% full. Service was still very friendly but a bit delayed. Vibes are super casual.

My best friend's mom gave her strict instructions to take me to Killer Noodle when I was in town, and what better recommendation can you get than a mom's stamp of approval? To my surprise, we were immediately seated around 6:15 p.m. on a weekday. (I'm sure there'd be more of a wait later in the night or on a weekend.) The first thing on the menu that caught my eye was their karaage chicken bao -- more of a fried chicken bao taco, really, though I suppose the proper way to refer to one of these would be a gua bao. The red cabbage-to-fried chicken ratio was a little off, but since you can't really go wrong with fried chicken, it didn't kill the vibe. Chicken! A perfect segue. Someone at Killer Noodle must really have it out for people who prefer chicken or can't eat pork. The chicken and veggie ramen options are the only ones that aren't spicy. (Our server said that you can get the spice on the side, but where's the fun in that?) The Sichuan peppercorn magic is what makes the noodles here memorable. After all, with a name like Killer Noodle, you'd expect everything to bring a bit of heat. The chicken ramen was... just OK. I didn't hate it. Nor did I love it. At face value, that doesn't seem to warrant four stars, but I admit that sometimes I make mistakes and maybe I should've taken the server up on their offer to get some spice on the side. Please learn from my mistakes.

Ask the Community - Killer Noodle

Can I bring a cake in for a bday with candles?

What's the difference between tokyo and downtown?

Hi! The Tokyo flavor is more creamy and peanut/sesame based. The Downtown flavor is tangy and vinegar/chili based. You can read the ingredients on their website if that helps!

Can I sit outside if I bring a dog with me?

There is seating outside, I don't know if you can have your dog with you but I would assume so.

So do they offer vegan noodles or not?

They do have a vegan option available. 🖤

Do they cook with MSG please?

Are all the ramen broths dairy-free?

Do they have a gluten free noodle option?

    They do not.

Do you have Tokyo or downtown style broth that's vegetarian?

    They don't.

    Do they have vegan noodles?

    They do not

Do they still offer a Yelp Waitlist?

No you have to go in person and sign into a paper waitlist then wait outside for them to call your name

If I have a nut allergy, is it possible to order the Tokyo style ramen without peanut butter or cashews?

    Yes

    Is Killer Noodle open today?

    Yes!

Do all the ramen dishes contain some form of nuts? I am deathly allergic to peanuts and all tree nuts.

I can't say that for certain that ALL of their dishes contain nuts, but I can tell you that sesame and cashew is a major player in their menu. Plus, there's the possibility of interaction in the kitchen. Better to err on the side of caution when…

Can you order it without the peanut butter and cashews?

Yes of course we can do that .

    Do they take reservations?

They do not. Only walk ins

I know one of the other Tsujita locations uses dried shrimp in their broth. I'm allergic to shelfish. Can I eat the soup here?

I went with a friend who doesn't eat meat and she was able to get a vegetarian broth instead of the one made with pork...but I would still double check with them before ordering so there's no issue!

Do they open on July 4th?

    Yes

Are the noodles made from wheat flour or rice flour?

Rice noodles are typically of ramen noodles.

Do they have a vegetarian / Vegan / non pork options?

Yes I was just there , the DO HAVE VEGETARIAN broth. I don't eat meat. I am sure of this.

It was... fine. Not bad, not memorable -- just okay. The kind of bowl that doesn't offend you but doesn't linger in your memory either. No standout richness in the broth, no chashu slice that made me pause mid-bite. Just noodles, doing their job. This is actually the second ramen spot I've tried in Little Tokyo, and I'll admit -- I'm starting to feel a little underwhelmed by the neighborhood's ramen scene so far. For a pocket of the city with so much culinary history packed into a few blocks, I expected to be a bit more wowed by now. Two tries in, and I'm still searching for that bowl that stops me in my tracks. What did stand out, though, was the service. The staff at Maruya were genuinely warm and helpful -- attentive without hovering, quick to check in, the kind of hospitality that makes you want to root for the place even when the food doesn't quite deliver.
