We set up an appt two weeks ago to have someone come out and help with our rodent "situation." Very friendly customer service so I was really hopeful that things would be standard and go well. The appt was 7-9 in the morning on a weekday. I was somewhat worried that morning because we didn't get a confirmation call the day before, but we were still cautiously optimistic. Were ready at 7, waited an hour and a half and nobody showed up. I called around 830 just to make sure our appt was still scheduled. Customer service said it was and she would give the technician my phone number to call me right away and give me an update. He never called. So at 9 I called back and told them we had to get to work. They said they would try to get ahold of him again, or asked to reschedule for a week later. At this point, there is really no point in trying again. read more

I called Killroy to come do a general spray around my home due to a recent sighting of a water bug (oriental cockroach) in my cats water bowl in the garage. Danny came a few days later to do a general spray for water bugs, ants and spiders. I called late in the afternoon and was able to get an appointment the very next morning. The technician called to confirm the appointment. They never pushed signing up for a monthly service. In fact, I inquired about it with both the office and the technician which was a nice change from some of the bigger companies that throw sales pitches at you. The service person arrived on time and was very experienced at doing inspections. His inspection was thorough and confirmed our guess that we needed to have the house tented. I was VERY pleased with the Termite service through Killroy. Everyone from the people I talked to on the phone to the person who came out for an inspection the very next day, to the gentlemen who came to tent my house were very patient and professional. This was the third company I called. They made everything from their inspection to their recommendations to the final instructions very clear. I was considering the orange oil and was concerned about having this done during my pregnancy and had everything well explained to me, and leaving the decision up to me. That alone would be enough, but their price and warranty was fair (without having to ask me about any other quotes to try to undercut them). So I called two weeks ago for service in the Gilroy area. The woman that answered the phone said she needed to talk with the tech and would email me a quote. No return call, no quote, nothing. I just called back and what i was told by the same woman is that i should find someone. They have a tech on vacation and can't fit in new customers. Wow! That's pretty bad. Feeling the need for a 5 year routine termite inspection in the Spring of 2007, I called Kilroy and scheduled an inspection, which I paid for. I was advised by the technician that I had a "very serious problem" because "there was a major infestation which required a huge amount of work" , the price quoted was $ 4000.00 The quoted cost seemed very high but based on the technician's statement that "it would take a major effort to correct the problem" I agreed to have he work done. When the job was completed, the "major effort" consisted of one small pick-up truck and one technnician (the same one that did the inspection) who spent exactly 7 1/2 hours for the remediation. On the invoice I was charged for 116 oz of material plus labor for a total of $ 4000.00 When I protested to the local manager about the exhorbitant charge for the amount of work done, he reduced the charge 5%. Assuming material costs of perhaps $ 100.00, it means that I was still charged $ 3700.00 for labor which consisted of one technician working 7 and 1/2 hours, or $ 493.00 per hour. As I have told both friends and neighbors, if you need termite work, I would suggest seeking it anywhere but Kilroy. read more

Steve squeezed us into his busy schedule a day after I first called so we wouldn't also get colonized by the millions of ants in our ant-pocalypse. Steve saved the day. Well it took them 4 months but they got rid of the ants as they were on the roof and a big nest under the house. Since it was underneath our deck, we either had to pull a few planks up or he would have to crawl underneath the house to fix it, which would cost a lot more. I contacted Killroy Pest Control Monday at 8:00 AM and Rick was at my place two hours later. Great! My problem: subtle smell of dead rat in the house. Rick checked all the vents inside the house, the heating cabinet and then proceeded with a complete combing of the attic. I knew I had rats in the attic because (a) I can hear them from time to time (b) during the last few months I killed four of them (actually recovering their bodies). Rick found three more dead rats (including one that was still smelly). It's probable I may have one more stuck in a wall, so I will have to endure the subtle smell for a few more days. I found Rick quite professional, clearly knowing what he was doing, courteous, helpful and replying to all my questions i.e. use nuts on your traps, not cheese! Forget about Ratatouille. I will definitely use Killroy Pest Control services again and I definitely recommend them. Rick left after placing three new traps in the attic where I can easily check them from time to time. We have been using Killroy for many years. They are the only pest control company that has ever been able to completely get rid of ants. Recently we had a problem with rats in the attic. We had techs come out to set traps, check all through the attic, in the crawlspace under the house and all around the perimeter to see where they were coming in and sealed everything up. This company was highly recommend by one of their former employees wife, I am going to tell this wife, she needs to stop recommending them. Because I will not be recommending them to kill a fly. They came out and the man seem to be experienced in what he was doing. Well 2 months have now past and we called for a re-spray because we saw ants and some roaches, we were told the exterminator would call us it has been a month and we have called 3 times and still no call. So this company is not reliable and you can not trust their word. Even the office people have not called to check in since we have been calling 3 times to make sure we have been taken care of. I used Killroy Pest Control for the first time this summer for an ant problem in my yard. They happened to be spraying my neighbor's yard and I walked over and asked if they could come and spray mine as well. They only sprayed for ants - no spider treatment - they didn't spray very much - they were here for 10 minutes and charged me $180 - yikes! Within 2 weeks the ants were back in full force. I called them to have come back out and re-spray which they guarantee to do if pests come back within 30 days. It took 3 persistent calls - left 2 messages and then told the person who answered the third time that someone needs to call me back or I'll report them as a scam. Finally I get a call back - they come back out and respray for all of 2 minutes. Guess what, the ants were back in 2 weeks. I've called back. No reply. My boyfriend called them and demanded to talk to the manager. The manager said he would personally come by to inspect and see the problem. Do you think he ever came? Not a chance and we've never heard from him since. This business is one of the worst I've dealt with in a long time - they are rediculous. Do NOT even bother with them - their staff does a cheap job that does NOT work, they charge very expensive rates and they will never call you back. read more

Not a fan!! Called to schedule an appointment for ant problem in my townhouse. I only called them at the recommendation of another pest control company given Kilroy was hired by our HOA to service the outside common areas and they thought perhaps I should contact Kilroy first to give them an opportunity to re-spray or to offer a discount since less than a month later I am experiencing a major ant problem in my unit. Upon my call I spoke with a very rude lady who told me that the treatment was done outside not inside but I thought the reason for spraying outside was to prevent them from coming inside, which obviously didn't work. I was told "no" so I guess our HOA is wasting their money with Kilroy since I am sure they were hired to kill the ants outside to help prevent ants from coming into the units, by the way, I still lots of them outside. Also, upon asking what did they use for treatment, the answer I received was"I don't know but you will have to be out of your house for 3-4 hours". Again not helpful. Needless to say Kilroy obviously does not need my business so I therefore went back to the original company I had called since they are more than helpful, able to tell me exactly what they are using to treat my house and did not require me to be away from my house for 3-4 hours and the customer service was awesome! So awesome they did apply a discount to my treatment since they felt bad that Kilroy didn't get the job done or try to help. I also will be speaking with my association about my experience so they can re-think their choice in pest control! read more

Last September, when I'd been in my house for only 2 months, I found an invoice on my door for service. Apparently the previous owner hadn't called to cancel. And I'm glad she didn't. I called Killroy and after a short and pleasant discussion about their service, I decided to sign up. They graciously insisted that I not pay the current bill since I had not contracted for it. Ever since then, the faithful Garrett has shown up every 2nd month and sprayed around the house and shrubs. I can keep my door open (I don't have a screen) and I NEVER get flying pests inside. And I mean NEVER. Once in a great while I find a dead mosquito. A dead mosquito is a good mosquito. Early in the spring, I had a gopher problem and Garrett told me what to do but if the problem persisted he'd come on out. I did as he said, and no more gophers. This seems to be a small family-type operation that knows what they're doing and their rates are more than reasonable. Highly recommended. read more

The guys at Killroy Pest of Campbell are miracle workers in my opinion. We had a major ant problem for 5+ years. In spite of being very careful about unsealed food, we had ant scouts daily, trails of ants weekly and swarms of ants on any particle of food we happened to not clean up before sitting down to eat. VERY annoying. We tried all sorts of baits and my husband went under the house several times to poison the nests. The ant invasion would slow temporarily, but then return full force. Finally we called around and talked to different companies, and luckily chose Killroy. They were knowledgeable and listened to our concerns about toxicity with a toddler in the house. Amazingly, from the day Killroy came we did not see even a single ant either inside or outside. It's now been over a year and I did see one lone ant inside the house a few weeks ago, but none since.
