Watch out for this hazardous obstruction.

We are from out of town. Nice drive-up atmosphere but there was a parking hazard our car hit when pulling in a spot. It was a low pipe marked with a teeny tiny orange cone. Totally bummed me out. Our waitress said quite a few people have hit it. The establishment should mark this hazard with a HUGE cone so SUV's can see it!

Burger, fries and some concoction that features custard- you can't lose. Still features friendly car hops to take orders and deliver food. It's delightful. This was a high school hang out for us, so glad it still thrives. (It is exactly the same.) Warning- cash only!

Tasty ice cream and custard, I just wished they had given me napkins to finish it off before it instantly started melting in my hands. Other than that, I have no complaints--the ice cream had a super fresh and tangy raspberry flavor and a rich and creamy custard topping that I'll be craving for months to come ~

**Cash Only** Kitlie has really stepped up their game the last couple of years! They have upgraded their menu and I am a huge fan of the new items. Lets start off that it is an old school drive in. A perfect place to bring your family, friends, and even go out on a date to. I love the concept and the fact that the tray sits on your window. Yall, ever since I tried the chicken dinner I have yet to go back to a burger or hot dog. The burgers are typical but the specialty dogs can be hit or a miss with the bun getting soggy. BUT the fried chicken is honestly one of the best I have had, what a statement. The skin is so darn crispy it is unbelievable. Even when the chicken cools, the skin stays crispy. It really is magic. Seasoned delicious magic. (pro tip! Get a side of cheese for your fries ;) Since the chicken dinner was so good, I had to try the chicken wings and the chicken wings come to a close second. You have the option of mild or hot and the sauce is incorporated with the breading topped with more seasoning. This is not a saucy wing and I would not consider the hot to be spicy at all. Do not skip out on the chicken here. As for everything else, I recommend the onion rings, mozz sticks (wonton wrapped!), jalapeno poppers, mini corn dogs, and all their custard. My personal favorite is a vanilla malt with extra malt because it is the right slurpable consistency. My one complaint about Kiltie is that when it is packed and you are parked 3 cars deep, it is impossible to see the menu without stepping out of your car and they do not provide any paper menus. Come on a week day and you shouldn't have any problems.

If you happen to be in Oconomowoc you must stop at Kiltie's for a treat!! My GPS did not work exactly right, but Kiltie's is located on a kind of frontage road, adjacent to the highway. Not much has changed at the Kiltie as far as signage, menu and car-hop service....awesome!! If it ain't broke don't fix it! The server showed up fairly quickly and gave us just enough time to peruse the menu and decide on our food. And guess what the server was wearing...a KILT. So appropriate. We enjoyed our food which consisted of a ham and cheese sandwich, and hot dog and fries. We were in a rush so we'll have to check out the ice cream next time. The fries were our favorite dish. The car adjacent to us said she's been coming here for years and loves it. And if I lived nearby, I would definitely be a regular customer, too.

    Kiltie drive in

Kiltie was packed when we pulled in on a Tuesday night, but the service was still prompt in spite of that. The food was delicious (if the burgers were a tad plain the flavorful sides of onion rings and mozzarella sticks more than made up for it). You can eat at the outdoor picnic tables or in your car like an old fashioned drive in. The ambience was friendly and fun, with lots of families when we stopped in. The only thing that stopped me from giving it a full five stars is they made one of our burgers wrong, and the prices were a bit high for what we got. Be aware that they only accept cash as payment. But I highly recommend this spot, whether for a meal or just a frozen treat, and I can see why they have so many regulars who stop in!

Had a very good experience at the Kiltie tonight. My server was Natalya. She Assisted me with my order and before I knew it the custard was back at my car. My experience at this drive-in restaurant is nostalgic bringing back memories of driving ice cream joints from my childhood. They have quality food, excellent service, and they're friendly and welcoming. I will return and I do recommend.

They also have different specialty cocktails throughout the year. -Cheese curds...I know, it's Wisconsin, but these are right up there with the elite. Cons: -I'll let you know when I find some. We've been to Crafty Cow several times over the last year, probably four or five times, and we've always been impressed by how friendly the waitstaff and bar staff are. The owner is also very nice and clearly involved, which I think is cool. I almost always order the same thing: the chicken strip meal, which comes with three huge strips and a large side of fries. The chicken here is really interesting because it's marinated in pickle brine. You can definitely taste the brine, and it adds something you didn't even realize was missing. My wife used to order the same thing, but now she tries something different each time because she knows she can share my strips. Everything she has tried has been good. Also worth mentioning: they have really good ranch dressing. I was surprised when I looked up Crafty Cow on Yelp and saw that it had less than four stars. Looking at some of the older reviews, I'm guessing it may have had a bit of a rocky start. But based on our experiences, Crafty Cow has been consistently great, and we'll definitely keep coming back.

The interior decor is very 'pub' like with expanses of dark wood and many art prints/framed works on the walls; there is a large bar in the front area with several tables/high-tops. In the back, the aesthetic is more 'industrial' with exposed brickwork and beams. We were greeted by the bartender (?) and seated immediately; our waitress brought us menus, reviewed the specials with us, and then brought our drinks. Crafty Cow specialises in 'craft' sodas and I enjoyed a very nice diet 'cola' drink with lemon; it was delicious. I ordered the chicken sandwich with the 'Nashville Hot' seasoning (because, hello, Nashville Hot) and it arrived piping hot with lots of shoe-string fries, also piping hot. The flavours were absolutely wonderful, full of contrast and balance. The 'heat' from the chicken was excellent; the chicken was plump and juicy, and had been perfectly breaded and fried. The slaw was also excellent: just the right balance of sweet and crunchy to offset the hot chicken. My clients and I enjoyed our visit to Crafty Cow Burgers & Fried Chicken and plan to return! HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Cons: - Corn bread, which was highly touted, was underwhelming...I'd sub it with a different side. - Pulled pork was a little tasteless, but this might be due to the fact that the other meats we tried were so good. We were looking to try something different and after looking around on Yelp we settled on Boondocks. We went on a Saturday afternoon and were pretty surprised to find that it was mostly empty, although they had a ton of people working. We were promptly seated by the hostess after being warmly greeted and ordered a few drinks. We were meeting some friends so we ordered the brisket egg rolls and an appetizer to get us started. When they were delivered our waitress, who was really nice, gave a quick rundown of the different BBQ sauce options and we were off. The egg rolls were amazing, crispy wonton wrapper filled with smoked brisket and cheddar cheese and a touch of BBQ sauce. We tried all of the BBQ sauces, with the winner being their regular BBQ mixed with a little bit of the mustard BBQ sauce. These were awesome and we ended up saving one, which was hard, for our friends to try out when they arrived. When our friends got there we decided to order 2 of the sampler platters so that we could get a good benchmark. The sampler came with 4 sides so we went with seasoned fries, mac n cheese, brussel sprouts, and potato salad. The other things that were included in the sampler were corn bread, ribs, brisket, and pulled pork. The ribs were phenomenal and I would definitely just order these stand alone next time. The brisket was also very tasty. The pulled pork was average, in my opinion, so I am counting that as a miss. The sides were all good, with the exception of the corn bread. I though that it was under cooked and didn't match the hype. Overall a killer late lunch/early dinner and this would have probably been a 5* review if I had just ordered the ribs with the seasoned fries and subbed the corn bread with any other side that we tried. We will definitely be back.

Server took our orders and the food came quickly. My wife's Rueben was very good and the Cole slaw was creamy and fresh. I ordered the Tuesday special of boneless wings 69 cents each. Six of each, sweet tai sauce and dry rub bbq. I ordered a side of cole slaw also. I thought I'd be pretty full with a dozen wings but when they came they were the size of the small premade meatballs you'd buy in the grocery store. The tai were just ok, but the dry rub tasted like they were rolled in pure salt. I love salt; but these were terrible. I ate one and thought maybe it was just that one, but the 2nd was just as bad. My wife had one and completely agreed. The server came by and asked how everything was, so I told her and she laughed and said they get that a lot, but didn't offer to replace them. I was hungry, so I rolled the last 3 in blue cheese which barely covered the salt. Another server came by to take our plates and asked how everything was. I told her about the wings and she asked me how many I had and walked to the kitchen. When the bill came there had been no adjustment. Based on my wife's meal it would probably be a 4 star review. Based on the small salty wing balls and disregard of the staff, I wouldn't go back.

The place is veteran owned and has a military flare to the decor. For our area, this is welcome and we have nothing like it. They also frequently have live music, and I do love me some live music. The service has been great both time I was there. I sat at the bar the first time and a table the second...just to make sure the service was great in both locations! Of course bar service is always faster because you are right in front of them, but I will say I did not have to wait at any point to sit, order, or pay. They were friendly and genuinely wanted to make sure everything tasted as good as it looked. When I go to places that run specials I am voted less likely to order off the menu and I have stuck with that philosophy with SteelTank. The first time I had a steak and shrimp pasta. It was so good I could not stop eating it. I ate nearly all of it and had zero regrets, but I was happy I had a few bites left to enjoy the next day. Second stop, Sausage & Pepperoni stuffed Bavarian pretzel. This pizza of the week is delicious! The pretzel is cut in half and stuffed and not hollowed out as most places do. You can see from the pictures it is stuffed and you can taste the pizza. Greens with a pizza you say? YES! So good, the vinaigrette dressing that is on that pretty little salad is making my mouth water as I type! Specials were not mentioned either time I went. The specials are posted on Facebook and that is how I knew about SteelTank and what I should order. That would be my only complaint, when you receive a menu patrons should be told what the specials are - or - post it somewhere so people know.
