My husband speaks fondly of getting a cheeseburger and shake from Hefner's when he was a teenager. He finally took me for an afternoon pickmeup. There wasn't a line for ordering, but there were a few people waiting for their orders to be filled. We ordered and joined the wait..and waited. Though there seem to be systems in place and several teenagers working behind the counter, food and shakes were taking a long time. We got our cheese curds first (too greasy, but still good), but waited and waited for our milkshake. After the place started filling up with folks waiting for their orders, we asked about our lost milkshake. They quickly handed it over - it had been made and was sitting unseen behind the counter instead of placed ON the takeout counter. The marshmallow malt tasted so strongly of marshmallow-yummy!, but I didn't receive the experience my husband remembers so fondly from when his high school friends worked there.

The cheeseburger with the works was very delicious. The "Norapolitan" custard was also very good. Service was good. The parking lot is larger than I thought, and I think that is an important detail. There are dining areas both inside and outside. The outside area has picnic tables with umbrellas, for shade. Overall, I'm glad that I stopped in here today. I drove past this place for years and never dropped in. I plan to come back and try a custard whiteout.

Came here because a couple people told me the burgers were as good as Kopp's, and it was a closer drive. They were wrong. Burgers, fries, onion rings, custard-all solid. But this is no substitution for Kopp's.

Well, if you live in Grafton, WI, your running days are over! Pete's Pops is open on the corner across from the Grafton Hotel facing John's Pizzaria and the plaza where the Christmas tree lights every year! Costing as little as $4 each, and yes, you can charge that, you can skip or walk right up to the window and order a frosty treat for yourself and one for your 4 legged K-9 friend! I had the root beer float and was not disappointed!!! Soooo, no these are not Good Humor flavors! They are MUCH BETTER than the sugar laden kid nonsense you remember on the truck! I assure you, however, your vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free children and friends will love being able to get an affordable treat on a hot day while listening to music from the plaza or just hanging out in Grafton. Parents won't mind the ingredients -- go on line and check it out! The staff in the window is friendly and excited to be here in Grafton all the way from down South (a.k.a. Milwaukee)! So make them feel welcome and tell them what's good here in the Village. Oh! Somebody go explain that Village vs Town thing! Make sure they know to which municipal hall they should pay their bills -- especially since one is only a block away and one is literally halfway across TOWN! LOL Alright, enough with the semantics. Go get the best popsicles you'll probably ever taste. I highly recommend the root beer float. Make sure you leave one for me, though!

The "best" local place that was open in January was The Chocolate Chisel. My family and I stopped and each got a cone. I also got three truffles. The truffles I bought were chai tea milk, experimint milk (ganache with peppermint extract), and peppermint hot chocolate. The chai tea and experimint milk truffles both tasted like they should based on their descriptions, but I wouldn't wantto buy either again. The peppermint hot chocolate had some crushed peppermint on top, but other than the chocolate being in the shape of a mug, nothing about it reminded me of hot chocolate. Ultimately I don't think any of them were worth the price. The ice cream was lackluster. Both of my kids got cookies and cream in a cake cone and thought it was skimpy on the cookies part. My wife and I sprung for waffle cones with ours and were both disappointed in the excessive cone to ice cream ratio that heavily favored the cone. She got plain chocolate and it was fine. I, however, got banana-rama and ended up throwing it out because it tasted more like butter pecan than anything banana related. I even went back inside and verified with the employee that it wasn't mislabeled in the case.

It's a mini Airstream parked off the main street, and there strung up lights and picnic tables. We ordered: +a scoop of Butter Pecan on a waffle cone +a scoop of Caramel Collision on a kiddie cone - this was caramel ice cream with caramel swirls and chocolate coated caramel mini cups The ice cream was okay, but not sure if they are keeping the freezer cold enough; it was already melting when the employees were handing the cones to us. The big thing: I just thought it was super gross that the employees who were preparing the ice cream treats/cones were not using gloves; the kiddie cones didn't have a paper slip since it was too small, but the waffle cones did, and the employees were still handling it incorrectly. UGH. I'm glad I was able to check this place out, but the sanitary situation was just a bit too much for me. +gloveless handling of ice cream/cones

WI Campfire S'mores: Cedar Crest Ice Cream is a premium ice cream company that has been located in…read moreCedarburg, WI since 1976. They offer around 80 flavors of their delicious ice cream and their claim to fame is that they invented the now widespread "tracks" in ice cream. WI Campfire S'mores is an ambitious ice cream flavor comprised of graham flavored ice cream with crushed peanut butter cups and a marshmallow swirl. The marshmallow swirl is a little tough to see visually because its white color blends in with the light brown/tan color of the ice cream base. Trust me, it's there though. Separating a spoonful of the swirl out, it does have a texture that differs from the ice cream as it is more aligned to marshmallow fluff. Although the graham and marshmallow flavors tend to get somewhat lost in each other, the peanut butter really comes through when you get a piece of it. The problem is the peanut butter cups are few and far between. Imagine eating an actual s'more that's only graham crackers and a marshmallow. The chocolate (or in this case peanut butter cups) is needed to complete the experience. Cedar Crest is not the only company to do this, but the picture on the package egregiously exaggerates the amount of peanut butter cups. As good as this ice cream is, I think Ben & Jerry's (B&J's) does it better with their PB S'more pint. I'll leave it up to you, but for me this is a Doughboy approved if I have it pre-2024 when B&J's introduced the PB S'more flavor, but after already being exposed, it's just okay *Addendum: The bottom quarter of the container had significantly more peanut butter cups, so more of an equal distribution issue than quantity problem My favorite Cedar Crest Flavors: 1.
