We were visiting Newport again and had to make a stop at Bar 'Cino. I knew to make a reservation this time as it was holiday week and this place is always busy. Food was so good and while I always love their salads, I had to opt for some pasta to warm me up! The pasta did not disappoint. Sorry my photo is not great ... i almost finished my meal before i got a photo. Service was great and everyone is so nice and friendly. This restaurant is always dependable and we will definitely be back. If you're staying at the Newport Marriott, it's only about 2 blocks away and so convenient.

My mom came to visit me for her birthday. Of all the times we've been to Newport, we've never found anywhere we liked for dinner. So my goal was to try a few spots with her since it's off season and easier to get a reservation. She loves pasta and so I thought this could be a good option. From the moment we walked in, service was so friendly but not over the top. I started with a delicious sweet potato vegetable soup. I got the braised short rib and my mom choose the bolognese. We both loved our entrees and found them to have a lot of flavor and were well prepared. The vibe was slightly noisy but not to where we couldn't talk. Just fun and busy. We shared a slice of delicious cake to celebrate. We were both really impressed with the whole experience and will definitely be returning!!

Bar cino was a pleasant surprise, sat at the counter. It was a busy Fri night but the service was great!! I love the inside of this place modern yet a little bit rustic. Only down side was sitting at the counter the heat from the grill was making us sweat! I got the Branzino, it was cooked perfectly and had great flavor! The antipasto was delicious and the Brie was gooey and sweet!! Will definitely be back

Drove straight here from landing in providence to eat! Our first time but had heard about it on TikTok a lot! We had just tried newhaven style pizza a few weeks ago on vacation, and when I heard about Newport grilled pizza I had to come! We did the margherita pom grilled pizza and it was delicious a completely different pizza experience than I've ever had before so I loved it! We also got the Chicken Milanese which was highly recommended everywhere and it did not disappoint the chicken was juicy perfection and the breading crunched but like melted in your mouth /a burst of flavor!

Four of us came for dinner and we really liked the food here. First of all, I was not aware that this was a Newport Restaurant group member, so at the end of the meal, I checked in on the app and gave my Check-In code to the server for my reward points. The host recommended their prosciutto and fig pizza flatbread and it was a hit...great choice. Light and well balanced...thin crust...tasty toppings. We got the roasted chicken "table for 2" and it was delicious....Nice and moist on the inside, well seasoned and roasted on the outside. It came with veggies....just a great meal. Nice servers, nice ambiance. A winner on my book.

Bar Cino is such a cozy little gem in Newport. The vibe is laid back but buzzing, especially on weekends. It definitely gets packed, so do yourself a favor and make a reservation. The service is friendly and on point, and the place is super clean -- even the bathrooms. Always a good sign. You have to try the grilled pizza, chicken Milanese, and the whipped ricotta with honey and grilled bread. Their pasta dishes, especially the tagliatelle bolognese, are next level. Portions are solid too, so you won't leave hungry.

Loved! Recommended by locals and for good reason. We had a delicious farro salad and flatbread pizza. We went for lunch and the service was quick and more on the casual side ambiance wise. I would make a reservation for dinner.

The bolognese - portion is a bit higher than it looks. Pretty good. Flavor: 7/10. Portion: 7/10.

GOOD FOOD - FRIENDLY SERVICE FOOD Pretty good. The bolognese, which appears to be a very popular dish, was good, not great. The pizzas that you cut with scissors look cool and certainly offer a level of fun to splitting a pie - didn't try one tho. AMBIANCE Casual with a touch of upscale ambiance. Nice place for a dinner and drinks with friends or an easy going date. Not romantic but no one said they were trying to be. DRINKS Fun drink menu. Had a latte and it was good. This place appears to be a cocktail establishment that serves pretty good Italian food :) SUMMARY If you're in town, craving Italian, this is a cool spot to go. If you're looking to have some drinks - this appears to definitely be a cool spot to go to. Legend has it that it might be the best around - doesn't necessarily mean it's the best Italian food there is tho. But you won't be disappointed. Ciao

This place was recommended from a Newport local and it did not disappoint. We booked this as a birthday dinner and were left a birthday card signed by the wait staff which was a nice touch. The service was great, very attentive and everything came out very quickly. The food was delicious. The pizza looked odd but it was so good. It's also in a great location, right near Thames. Highly recommend!

Came here for an early dinner at Bar 'Cino for 4th of July! The place was packed but we were able to make a reservation before our sunset sail. The highlight was definitely the pistachio ricotta cake -- light, fluffy, and not overly sweet. I'd honestly order regular shipments to my house if I could. The pasta dishes (spaghetti with shrimp and campanelle) were both solid, and the campanelle was pretty special in my opinion. The summer squash was fine, but I wouldn't order it again. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. We sat inside and Bar 'Cino must share a space with the place next door because we were sat where the two restaurants combine on the inside. I will say that while our server was friendly and welcoming, service was a bit spotty and we didn't get checked on much.

Loved the food here! Pasta, pizza, salad. All vegetarian choices, and they each were delicious I. Their own right. Left there feeling like I had a great meal without feeling 100lbs heavier. And that seems rare.

Had a fantastic time at Bar'Cino last night!! We showed up around 6pm on a super rainy night without a reservation. We were super lucky to snag two seats at the bar- perfect! We were greeted right away by the bartender and given some time to look at the menu. I decided on a class of Pinot noir and my fiancé was happy that coors light was available. The menu looked amazing and it was difficult for me to decide what to order. We ended up doing the antipasti platter to start and it was fantastic. We loved the cannellini beans and pickled tomatoes. The fig jam was also delicious. For our main we got the roasted chicken for two. Presentation was gorgeous and taste was awesome. The chicken was juicy and flavorful and I couldn't stop eating the Brussels sprouts and carrots. Our bartender checked on us and was very friendly. She even gave us some recommendations for bars to watch Monday night football. I was really impressed with Bar'Cino. From the service, food, drinks, and price point- it was perfect!

Scooped a quick open table resy and skipped a 45 min wait! Small but mighty store with tasty offerings. Our waitress was the best one we had in Rhode Island she was always willing to explain and answer questions. Loved my whole branzino.

    Super nice birthday card!

Every time we come here the service is excellent and the food is amazing. This is what we come for right? Outstanding food and service! This year was no different than the other years and I love how the menu continues to evolve and change and everything that comes to life from the menu to the table is well thought out and bursting with harmonious blends of flavor. The presentation is gorgeous too! Plating is also important and they nail it! Okay let's gooooo! Come join our dining experience! We tried a bit of everything! We loved every bit of it. I'll mention my faves but that doesn't take away how hard it was to choose a fave! Everything was DELICIOUS ! Raw bar: Jamestown oysters . We had 10. We can't get enough east coast oysters. We live in the west side and I cannot say enough how much better oysters are on east coast! Slurp ! Mmm! Snacks: 1. Shartner's Farm Carrots: pea green pesto, pine nut, n'duja . If you're a meat, potato and pasta person and try to avoid your veggies, don't do that here. GET IT! It's such a great melody of textures and flavors that pair well. It doesn't feel like you are eating carrots and regardless it's a very dressed up bougie delicious carrot plate ! Mmmm . One of my faves out of the snacks. 2. Narragansett Creamery Burrata: green strawberry, speck, basil. Creamy, vibrant and just delicious Pasta: only had room in our tummies for 1 but every year we try different pastas and never disappoints. This year no exception. Maltagliati- hopkins southdowns lamb sugo, swiss chard, harissa, umbrian chickpea. Excellent! Pasta was perfect texture and consistency!! Little touch of spice from harissa which I loved (not overpowering). The Swiss chard was cooked to a crispy texture which I loved. I was a bit nervous about the lamb because it really can vary from place to place. However, I should have known better being from here they cooked/braised it to perfection: melt in your mouth type of soft and no weird or gamey taste. Definitely delicious pasta I recommend. Plates: 1. Duck Leg Confit- japanese turnip, spigariello kale, huckleberry conserva, duck jus. Personally my faves of the two plates but both delicious. The crispy skin from the duck and tender flavorful duck meat was just to die for. Loooooved. Plus the turnips and the amazing huckleberry conserva! Thinking about it makes my mouth water. So so good. 2. Beef Short Rib-swiss chard erbazzone, sunchoke, hazelnut. Loved it. Tasty as expected. Great flavor and tender. Dessert: 1. Olive Oil Cake- strawberry, rosé, lime curd, basil gelato. Wow! Oh wow! I'm so happy this time around they have some cake options. I love olive oil cake and now to pair with a basil gelato sounds insane right? Holy cow! Soooo good! Not what I was expecting. Strawberry, rose, lime and basil gelato flavor all work well together in this dessert. My fave dessert of the night! TRY IT! 2. Cookies N' cream: narragansett creamery ricotta, chocolate biscotti- yummy! Tasted like an elevated cookies and cream ! We loved our experience! Hopefully when you visit here, you can enjoy it as much as we do year after year. I absolutely love this place. Food is beyond excellent and is a place you have to stop by and visit while in Newport.

For my main course I had the tonnorelli pasta with a green garlic sauce which is my favorite. Only available during early spring when the garlic is young and green. The flavor is mild not too garlicky with an herbal earthy flavor. One of the best pasta dishes I've had. Dessert was olive oil cake with a minty flavored gelato. Everything is made in house. Service is great, everyone is so welcoming and the vibe so calming . Can't say enough about this place.

I got here around 4 pm and the parking situation wasn't honestly an issue. The music isn't over powering and the overall layout makes it seem very homey. depending on where you sit you have a nice view of the kitchen where the chefs are diligently preparing the food. The starter bread is nice and dense with good flavor, it reminds me of a sour dough. The olive oil that comes standard at the table is robust and has a very nice flavor to it. I ordered the pasta bolognese, the taste and acidity of the sauce is pretty standard, a little on the acidic side but i tend to enjoy it like that. The house made pasta (or whichever kind of pasta is used) is well picked. The pasta picks up the sauce well and the mouthfeel is hard to beat; I want to attribute that to the house made aspect of it. I also got one of their seasonal cocktails called the paper plane which was refreshing. It was a little tart, definitely tastes of grape fruit with the lemon garnish also contributing to the taste. However I'm not sure how well it paired with pasta alla bolognese. To finish I got the crème brûlée. For me it's always a toss up between that and key lime pie every time so when a place offers both I usually have to flip a coin. For those who have had crème brûlée, it's overall a pretty simple dessert. The portion size was a huge plus for me. The sugar top had just a hint of burnt taste (obviously!) but you could really tell; and that is something I honestly don't mind. As for the crème it was nice, light, smooth with a hint of lemon I think. The staff are very friendly and attentive. I'm typically a solo diner but at least from what I saw they are capable of accommodating parties of about 10 so long as you call ahead first to let them know. I have to assume given the time of year it's "less packed" than normal because outdoor dining is pretty much not an option in march. This is my first time in the state of Rhode Island and subsequently the first time in Newport. I found them out through the Resy app, and decided to give it a shot. In all honestly because of the vibes, the food and the area, if you are ever in the area I would definitely try this spot out for some pretty good Italian. P.S I want to apologize for only posting the dessert, I'm just getting back into food posting. Sorry!

We talked a lot and were slow to order. The server was patient and checked in regularly but didn't rush us. When we ordered the food was delivered almost instantly. I tried the tagliatelle bolognese and really liked it. I also had pepperoni pizza and loved it. It was an almost perfect Neapolitan pizza diavola with just a little American flair in the pepperoni. Crust was crispy chewy as it should be and the sauce was perfect. A++ pizza! The prices are extremely fair for downtown, and the food is top 10% or better.
