I really enjoyed my free dark chocolate and sea salt caramel apple that I got for showing my school badge during teacher appreciation week! What a nice thing for their business to do. It was absolutely scrumptious. I did buy a chocolate covered graham cracker while I was there, too. Love those. Kilwins is a real gem. When customers come 23 miles to TC and go out of their way twice in the same week to give a local business support. Don't be an a**hole. Let's start with the good! I went to the Traverse City Kilwin's yesterday, as I have dozens of times over the last decade. I brought my three children, and we shared two double-scoop sundaes. The sundae was fantastic as usual. Truly amazing ice cream. And the bad: apparently it's not just airlines choosing to gouge the public with a la carte pricing! Check out my receipt (with the server's initials blocked)..... $24.34 for TWO sundaes!! While loving Kilwin's for many years, I could actually buy an entire meal for my family with this amount. When I asked why it was so much, I was told that they'd be happy to "give me a breakdown" of the components. Um..... it's a sundae. Exactly the same kind of sundae I've been happily ordering at this store for years. But for a lot less. Sigh. I won't be back. Aside from the fact that there are a million ice cream parlors in TC, I can't understand a business that would charge like this and think they could do so without complaints. read more

This place was spot on. I'm originally from Louisiana and the New Orleans Pecan Praline was the bet ice cream I've ever eaten. ABSOLUTELY MAGNIFICENT! I also got cake batter (as seen in the image). Need some chocolate? Ice cream? Sweet fix? This is it. Yes, it's a bit touristy and a chain (just Michigan?? not sure), but it's pretty good. Stopped by after eating dinner while strolling along Front Street. There wasn't anyone in there, but it was about ready to rain so yay for us! The girl at the counter was very helpful. I told her I hadn't been here and asked for her top 3 favorite flavors. She named them and gave each a description and so I settled for a single scoop waffle cone of Kilwin's signature flavor. Vanilla with chocolate swirls and peanut butter cups. They also make the cones and that was definitely a plus! It's definitely a spot I'd come back to. Oh Kilwin's....you are so delicious. Everytime we're in TC we end up wandering into this place, drooling all over the counter and picking up calories that we don't need. Monday night was no exception - after being "too full" for dessert at Amical, we decided we COULD squeeze in some Kilwin's ice cream. And toffee. And chocolate. The ice cream here is awesome! Kilwin tracks is my drug of choice, while the bf goes for the standard double chocolate. He was MMMMMing and WOWing the entire time he ate his cone! We also picked up some toffee and a chocolate bar for the road...but who are we kidding, I ate the toffee right there! So obviously homemade, there is nothing like that SNAP of the toffee breaking off, followed by the sweet-saltiness of the toffee, nuts and chocolate melting in your mouth. My ice cream was also packed to the gills with deliciousness, like PB cups and chocolate pieces. I really can't say enough good things about Kilwin's...go in there if you dare, but be prepared to come out a bit heavier than when you went in!!! read more

The most disrespectful store we have ever witnessed. No greeting at the the door instead said " what are you doing". Rude and not welcoming at all. They had lot's of good flavors and you can of course sample them first. I got a double chocolate and Mackinaw Fudge and they were both very good. Not all fudge is created equal. Kilwin's has been our favorite destination for fudge and homemade candies. The German Chocolate Fudge with walnuts and coconut is incredible!
