Kilwin's is a gem, in my favorite Florida town, and a perfect way to top off an amazing meal, in one of the many 4 & 5 star restaurants nearby. They offer delicious ice cream, made on premises fudge, high quality chocolates & unique creations like chocolate covered twinkies, peanut butter bars, caramel marshmallow pops, most all offered in both milk & dark varieties. The employees are friendly & knowledgeable, though they can be understaffed sometimes when it gets busy. It's not a huge store, not as quaintly decorated as it might be and waaay too expensive, even for the prime location, but that's not why I withheld the 5th star. It's their discontinuing of my favorite item, chocolate covered Gummy Bears, which even the employees agree was a mistake, and have said they voiced their opinion to management, that makes this fine establishment fall short of 5 stars. Bring back my chocolate covered Gummy Bears, both milk & dark, and I'll add the 5th star. If I don't see them when I return in December 2017, Kilwin's goes to 3 stars. Yes, they're THAT good, and I don't like to have to bring them from CA to FL for Christmas gifts. read more

I'm only leaving a review because of the ice cream server I never had. The gentleman working the late shift last night was the best ice cream server I have ever witnessed. Sadly, he didn't serve me mine....but I watched in awe as he went above and beyond to serve the other customers with care, dedication, respect and attentiveness. It's something you don't see every day - that good old fashioned customer service. There were 3 other girls working the same shift and this guy was literally doing laps around them. They clearly did not care about the customers like this fella did. You are a star, mystery man!! I can only hope that next time, I have the pleasure of having YOU scoop my ice cream. read more

I walked in the shop and they had just finished making a batch of coconut fudge. It was cooling on the marble slab and the whole shop smelled of coconut and it smelled fantastic. I got ice cream on a hot summer night and it was rich and creamy - delicious. read more

Absolutely Terrible Service. I've been to many Kilwins because of course they have great ice cream and chocolates BUT this place had the worst two ladies working in the store this evening. I'm not sure if they are always that rude or if they were ready to go home but because of them my family and I will never be back. I will also gladly send all of m my friends down the street.There are plenty of other places I would rather spend my money at. At the end of the day this manager needs to realize that customers are the heart of the businesss and if your employees have horrible customer service skills then your customers aren't going to come back. I went there over the weekend looking for a sweet treat. I decided on two items from the chocolate case and asked the young girl (maybe high school age) behind the counter for those items. She seemed fairly cranky and then aggressively manhandled the items I'd thoughtfully selected. Then, while nearly rolling her eyes for having wasted her time, she asked if I wanted a bag for my purchase. I prefer to give my business to establishments who appreciate my patronage and money, so I'll never go back. There are far too many amazing chocolate shops around to go to one where customers are treated like that. read more

3 young ladies "working", 1 helping customers the other 2 making treats. 12-15 customers waiting and I asked the 2 ladies making treats if they might help customers. Was told no that is what the one girl does. Finally after several complaining customer (some left) one of the 2 starting helping customers, starting with the most recent to walk in. Obviously the 2 making the treats have no idea about customer service or bottom line. For being an over priced treat shop to begin with I think customer service might need to be on the top of the training list. read more

I always get the cappuccino shake, which is delicious. But it's $8.50 and is completely overpriced in my opinion. There's not many options on that street so I settle. Also, the teenage girls who work there are less than friendly. They complain about making a shake, get it together!! That's your job. So, I go because the shakes are good, but wish the employees learned how to treat customers right. Aka, not talking trash while customers can hear. Hopefully the manager straightens these employees out. I've always wanted to try the chocolate, but for $30/pound I'll pass. This place is a chain, I'd rather go to a real homemade spot and give the locals my money. read more

When you really want something sweet this is a good place but In my opinion, their prices are overly high. $8.50 for a milkshake is ridiculous and really doesn't inspire me to give them our business. The fudge is good but I just don't know why their prices aren't more reasonable. Also, with how many families with children visit, I don't know why they don't have a changing station in restrooms...frustrating. read more

Absolutely love their selection of ice cream and fudge. Their chocolate treats and flavored popcorn are to die for. I literally live about 40 minutes away and drive here just to get ice cream and treats. You get what you pay for and I don't mind paying the extra for the freshness and flavor. The first day of our trip we came there and had a wonderful experience. Very nice blonde girl who was quick, professional and chipper. We got a hot fudge sundae and a vanilla cone. Total was $13. We came back the next day and there was an old man who we ordered the same exact thing from and he gave me something that looked like a kiddie sundae- no cherry no nuts and my husband only got a tiny portion on his come that looked seriously like a half a scoop and the total was $16. We were confused because I had gotten this huge sundae and he got a heaping two scoop cone the day before for $3 less. When we asked him about it nicely he said obviously the girl didn't know what she was doing and "we got a deal of a lifetime." He was very sarcastic and asked us " you want it or not?" I did see there were customers in the back of us I wasn't trying to cause a scene or take up too much time but I just did not like the interaction with him at all. He was so rude and totally deflated our whole Kilwin's experience which is my favorite ice cream shop by the way. Won't be returning that's for sure. read more

We love Venice, and although I don't like sweets, my husband and daughter are a huge fan of Kilwins. We come here at least 2-3 times while vacationing in Venice, and they usually get some fudge and assorted chocolates. My 11 year old daughter got a caramle apple and really loved it. They love the home made goodies here at Kilwins, and they also have ice cream. So if you are looking for great sweets, come to Kilwins where everything is home made and delicious! read more

Mmmmmmmmmmmm. Boy do I love Kilwins! Just walk through the door and you'll be instantly convinced. They make delicious, creamy fudge that is always buy 2, get 1 free. My family and I will use any excuse to make an event fudge-worthy. They also have delectable chocolates and ice cream for your every sweet tooth need. Kilwin's is 100% worthy of your business. It's Kilwin's, so the ice cream is good. What is not good is the service. The young people behind the counter always act as if you are doing them a favor. And this warning: Do not -- I repeat, do not -- expect to use the facilities after 9 p.m. Even though the shop is open, the facilities are closed -- I suspect in violation of code. I had a very bad experience at this place. It was expensive, around $6 for one scoop. My scoop was so soft I couldn't eat it fast enough to keep it from melting down the side. After a couple of quick licks I took it back and told the young woman it was too soft. She basically responded that some flavors are softer than others. I asked if I could exchange it for a flavor that was harder. She said no, that once a purchase is made and tasted, it can't be exchanged. I ended up throwing it away before finishing because it was melting so fast and was unpleasant. Worst ice cream experience I've ever had. And I love ice cream. Fortunately I have discovered other places in the area with awesome ice cream, better prices, and great service. read more

Poor service, don't ask to use restroom after 9:00. They close their restroom even if you are a paying customer. Not closed for cleaning, but closed for the night. It's a store rule. The employee directed us to a public bathroom a block away. Fortunately there another ice cream shop across the street from the public bathroom. read more
