Rivertown Pilates offers the best Pilates classes I have found. In fact after moving I often still drive back from Connecticut to take classes here. Cece is an amazing instructor - knowledgeable, kind, and innovative! She designs each class to meet the specific needs of her clients and no two classes are ever the same. She helps her students understand exactly how to do each exercise, where they should feel the movement, and how it can benefit them. I have been taking classes with Cece for many years and I feel stronger and more in shape than I have from any other workout. She truly cares about each of her clients. During the pandemic she created a flexible schedule and was able to accommodate her students through small group and one-on-one virtual sessions. Now that the studio is open again I feel completely safe there. She has impeccable cleaning procedures and everyone wears a mask in studio while remaining 6 feet apart. My wife and I have been getting Pilates lessons here for about three years. I had to post something to tell everyone what a great experience it is. First of all, in these Covid times, owner Cece's has made all the appropriate sanitary arrangements for her beautiful 6-pupil studio on Tarrytown's Main Street. And we've been doing e-Pilates too from home which Cece has down to a T (we're seniors so this is really appreciated). With 6 reformers and Cece's expertise, you'll never get lost. But we also find her very willing to juggle schedules as needed - which is important if you run around and work as we do. Why Pilates? CC at Rivertown Pilates is incredible -- she is highly skilled and knowledgable about Pilates and about the human body. Her classes are well choreographed and organized, rigorous and effective, and personalized even in a group. As a physician, I appreciate CC's attention to detail, her ability to adjust an exercise or movement to meet the needs of each individual, and her keen observations about each of her students. She cares about all of her students and is serious about helping each person feel good in their bodies and achieve their goals. I suffer from chronic back pain and Pilates and CC's classes have helped me tremendously. I have been coming to Rivertown pilates for one year now. Ceci is just wonderful. She is very focusesd on form which is absolutely essential to getting the most out of the workout. She is quite knowledgeable about anatomy and is able to cater to each of her students individually specifically with regards to making sure each students works on each muscle group. I have had multiple surgeries over the past year, including a bilateral mastectomy, and Ceci was able to modify my workout when necessary. Further, I have no pain or range of motion problems related to the mastectomy for which I credit Ceci! Her classes are definitely tough, but you get AMAZING results. I have been teaching pilates for about five years. A few months before Covid hit, I moved to Nyack NY and started looking for a job with a local pilates studio. Ceres (owner and primary instructor) was gracious enough to meet with me. I began working for her the following week. For the past 3 months I have been taking virtual classes 2x a week and have loved staying connected with my favorite instructor and staying in shape! The owner & master instructor teaches every class herself and her knowledge of all the muscles in your body (and how they work together) is like that of a Doctor. I've been going religiously for over 7 years and feel stronger and more tone than I have in my life. Rivertown Pilates is a pristine studio with exceptional customized programs. Cece is so hands on and takes the time with each individual to set them up for success. Personally, I have a severe structural deformed spine and Pilates has enabled me to strengthen my core around the physical weakness. CC is a very dedicated instructor, she teaches with clear and concise direction. She is willing to take the extra step and give you exercises and stretches to do at home. I've been studying pilates under Ceci for 10 years. She's wonderful at providing individual attention to each student. This isn't a "cookie cutter" experience at all. Ceci has put a lot of thought into how to open the Rivertown Pilates studio in a way that feels safe during COVID-19. I'm not comfortable with indoor dining, but I am comfortable going to Rivertown Pilates for classes. We wear masks and we've been able to purchase our own individual handles to use the reformers.
