My husband, dog, and I were making our way across the country and Nashville was merely an overnight stop. HOWEVER, being a Diamond Elite Member, they more than took care of us by upgrading us to one of their top suites. It allowed our pup much-needed space to run around and stretch his paws. Which speaking of, they are so dog-friendly that not only is there no pet fee, they also have a designated pet relief area in their covered garage. It has some sprinklers in the middle. A restaurant bar by the pool which is very convenient. The only thing I didn't like was parking fee even though we were customers in the hotel. We picked Kimpton for our Nashville trip due to its close proximity to downtown Nashville and an affordable price compared to other hotels in the area. It was less than 10 minutes drives to popular tourist area like Broadway, farmer's market, 12 South and even the airport. They also had indoor parking lot adjacent to the hotel, it was so convenient to park on the same floor as the room and walk out the garage within few seconds. Though overnight parking charges are high, $50 per night for self park. They were generous to let us check in couple of hours early. We were very impressed modern lobby area with all other amenities like the gym, meeting room and shared pool. The pool was at max 3.5 ft depth that made it friendly for kids. The room was first class. The bed, bathroom, amenities in the room all were good quality. Hotel staff were very friendly and accommodating to all our queries and requests. There's a staff member at the reception 24/7, one of them helped us with checkout at 5 am. We enjoyed our four day stay at this hotel, never had any issues. PS: When I checked-in the lady at the register asked me I wanted bottle of water. Thinking it was complementary, I asked for two. When I got the invoice at check out, I found out I was charged $9.40 for each of these medium size bottles. Just be aware. read more

we stayed here to visit nashville and this hotel was perfect! the staff are super friendly and once we got checked in, they gave us complimentary water. they're also dog friendly if you have a four legged friend traveling with you. just be on alert for confined spaces with other dogs in the hallway or around corners. we did have an "incident" where the staff gave our room number to someone else by mistake after we checked in. an honest mistake that didn't bother us at all but they gave us a $50 credit! the rooms are spacious and is upscale without the super upscale prices. the hotel is just 2ish miles away from broadway. it gives you that downtown feel but just minus the noise and craziness. it's a good escape without being too far away from anything. the valet service is what i recommend. it's $54 a day or $64 for large trucks. super convenient to message them and they go and grab your car within a few minutes. overall, the staff and our stay was perfect. we had no issues and would highly recommend to anyone visiting the area. plus, they have free drinks in the lobby from 5pm-6pm every day! read more

Wow!!! This place is beautiful! The most comfortable bed and pillows I ever used ever!!!! The staff is friendly and very attentive. It's pet friendly with no pet fees or deposits and they have free Wag service for each stay for a free walk or pet sitter for 20 minutes. They had bowls for food and water upon request. They also have a pool on the roof (closed due to weather during our trip). Parking is expensive at the public parking and you cannot enter from garage but empties into the garage from the hotel. For a few extra bucks you can do valet and it's in a private area of the garage. Definitely worth it. There is a restaurant on premise as well with great meal options and a bar. It's also located near a lot of attractions in walking distance. Definitely recommend! read more

Just wrapped up a stay at the Kimpton Aertson Hotel in Nashville and I have to say--this place sets the bar for hospitality. Every single staff member I interacted with was kind, helpful, and genuinely thoughtful. I don't think I've ever had a hotel stay where every interaction was this pleasant. The rooms are stylish and comfortable--I'd recommend booking a corner room if you can, the extra light and space are worth it. The hotel is in a great location: walkable to plenty, easy for Uber pickups, and the food onsite is solid too. My one (very minor) gripe: the hallways have a bit of an odd smell. It's a dog-friendly hotel, so maybe that's part of it--but as a dog lover, it didn't bother me much. All in all, I'd absolutely stay here again. read more

This is a beautiful hotel however there were some hiccups. The valet was lovely but we had to wait almost an hour for a luggage cart to unload our pets and luggage. The room was on the small side but was really cute with a lovely walk in shower. The downside was you can't turn the thermostat below 68 degrees. I'm a hot sleeper and usually like about 66 degrees. We ran into this issue at other Kimpton hotels but their engineering team was able to remove the restriction when we asked. When I asked the front desk about it at the Aertson, I got an eye roll and a bad attitude. I was told the engineer told them he couldn't change it. I think it was more of a won't than a can't. So as a result they get a 3 stars as my comfort was not a priority for them. We pay for a quiet comfortable place to rest and sadly this wasn't it. We are IHG members and stay at a Kimpton whenever possible but we will not return to this hotel. Skip this one if you like a cool room to sleep in. read more

While in town over Thanksgiving weekend to attend a Vanderbilt football game, we managed to snag a last minute room and deal at the Kimpton. The location was absolutely perfect for walking to the football game and given the short amount of time we had in Nashville, it suited our needs perfectly. The room itself was clean and modern and the bed was large and comfortable. The shower had plenty of hot water and good water pressure. To valet park our car with in and out privileges was $50 a night, but we didn't mind. All in all, if you are looking to stay near the university while in Nashville, I would recommend the Kimpton. read more

When traveling I usually try to stay at a Kimpton, as an IHG member with status, I usually find the service exceptional, the rooms pristine, and amenities top notch. I have to say that this experience did not live up to those words... I found the service just adequate and not very friendly, my room had broken curtains that were difficult to close, and the hotel gym was poorly maintained and lacking in equipment. We chose this hotel because we stayed at a kimpton hotel in Dallas TX and Charlotteville VA which were wonderfull. Not the same here. It started at the front desk: the base of it is made out of a purple rope sculpture which is all covered with dust ( one can imagine it is impossible to clean) and a the "welcome" by the staff ( whose only focus was to get our credit card) that was very cold. Our room was on the 8th floor, it looked very tired, a chipped marble top table, a plug that does not work, far from spotless clean, shower door that creeks, one area at the bottom of one of the bathroom walls had been patched, the sheets on the bed were weirdly arranged, and one of the towel was obviously not clean and had its own non paying guest ( picture) . Three good things: the bed was confortable, the room was quiet and you could open the window to let fresh air in. read more

I loved this hotel. The front desk staff on Saturday March 18th @ 430PM, we're not the friendliest or even welcoming! The self parking can be very tricky; so we decided to valet which uses an app for calling your car and tipping ( that was excellent!) The room, oh my! What a difference from the place we stayed at the night before. It was modern, clean, fresh, well lit. The beds were comfortable as well as the sitting area. We were on the third floor above the parking garage entrance. We didn't have any issues with the garage traffic, there was noise from the street but it died down early in the evening. They have an afternoon refreshment hour, this evening they had guacamole and chips, beer, wine. A nice touch. The pool was closed for the season, so we never ventured in that direction. There are plenty of places to eat, drink and explore by foot. My room had a mini bar with drinks, no food. So we opted to drive to Trader Joe's and get snacks for our stay. Our stay was very pleasant and I would have stayed here again....until I got home and saw a new charge to my bill of $17.. for chips and a coke...(that's what I was told when I called). I explained to them that not only did we not have anything out of the minibar, but there were no chips in that room...Period! I was told that they would investigate, and their staff takes a picture of the minibar before and after every stay. This was an amazing stay! The hotel was super clean, and very stylish. As soon as you walk in you feel invited with the warm stoned fire place. C My husband noted the desk made out of blue rope :) We had a studio suite that was HUGE for my family. It included a family/living room area apart from the sleeping side. One of the best things about our stay was that it came with a MamaRoo4 for my 4 month old! He was fully engaged with us in the living area and we didn't have to just lay him on the bed. We also appreciated the On Demand program the hotel has! You can request a mini fridge at the front desk to store your breast milk or formula to make sure it's getting appropriate temperature. This is a what I call a non-traditional hotel, meaning it's not part of a chain and is independently owned and operated. It is small and rather quaint. The front desk staff is efficient and friendly. There is no gift shop, per se, but there are items for sale that are on display in the lobby that staff will get for you if you like. It is a combination hotel and apartment building. Hotel guests and apartment residents share the elevators, though apartment residents enter and exit through the rear elevator doors. It's not uncommon to see residents with their dogs in the hotel lobby and sometimes guests, residents and dogs are all on the same elevator! The building has a fascinating history. The architect was a woman who took what had been two parking garages and transformed them into this structure. You can see what appear to be cement beams that would have been part of the parking garages. The food was good yet unique and clearly prepared with good health in mind. Our meeting was on the penthouse floor. The view was fabulous, as was the service. My only complaint was that the lighting in my room didn't get bright enough. I would go back but only if I could get reassurance that I could get a room with better lighting. I forgot to share that it is within walk-in distance to Vanderbilt University. Our stay at the Kimpton Aertson last weekend was a 3.5: We had a double and an additional sitting room which ended up being a nice, large space for the three of us. The room itself was nicely appointed and clean. Lighting was definitely lacking though and there was no coffee machine or tea kettle which was odd. Additionally, there was no bottled water anywhere. Service is really friendly and everyone we encountered was super helpful. We had to request housekeeping though as they didn't come while we were out. I definitely suggest eating elsewhere because both the dinner we ordered from room service (pasta and short ribs) and the breakfast (eggs, pancakes) were severely lacking. The food is pretty expensive too so this was disappointing. I don't foresee myself staying here again, especially because for the rate we definitely could have found a better hotel. read more

The beds were low quality and the bedsheets were totally mangled when housekeeping made the bed. The furniture was useless - the table and chair that served as a desk and desk chair weren't the right height for actually using them together. I loved my stay at the Kimpton Aertson! I was here for a conference held there, and also stayed in the hotel. I'll divide the review for both: The hotel- I'm a picky sleeper, so a quiet and comfortable room is very important to me. Despite being right above a moderately busy street, the windows did a great job blocking noise. Unless a siren was driving by, I didn't hear much. The fan can be adjusted to stay on high for white noise, which helped even more. The bed was slightly firm but softer than most hotels. Each room has a yoga mat and robe to use, as well as iron/board and hair drier, and I loved that the tv remote cam complete with cleansing wipes and a plastic bag to cover it! The bathroom was good sized with all the amenities (cotton balls, q-tips, makeup wipes, soap, lotion, body wash, and full sized bottles of shampoo/conditioner to use while there). there was ample storage with a bar area, drawers, a safe, fridge, and closet. The fridge could be used for your own items or you could purchase some from the stocked fridge (price sheet was included). However, they do have complementary waters at the front desk. The staff was friendly and professional, I always felt welcome and comfortable. They will even give you a map with restaurant and entertainment suggestions, and the area was safe to walk around. The conference: On the 8th floor you'll find the conference space. They are able to adjust it for large crowds or several small rooms. It was so convenient and nice. There were always refreshments out (water, soda, coffee, etc and usually granola bars, nuts, and pretzels). The meals provided were filling and satisfying. It was a beautiful and functional space. We had a reception in the rooftop, including food and drinks, and it was a great time with tasty food. I would absolutely stay here again and attend a conference. We LOVE this hotel!! If you are traveling with dogs, this is the very best place in Nashville to stay! We go several times a year and were having a hard time finding anything in the downtown area that accepted dogs. Not only does Kimpton Hotel allow dogs - they don't charge extra (like most AirBnb's do). And, they give you dog bowls and beds for the room. There is also a pet relief area in the attached self-parking garage. So convenient and also close to a lot of great restaurants & bars. Super friendly staff too. The room and bathroom were very decent, but it's missing important necessities. The chairs for the little table were hard and uncomfortable. Almost every hotel has a "book" of places to go, things to do, restaurants, etc. but this hotel had zero instructions - couldn't even find a checkout time. Beautiful, clean, eclectic hotel with great customer service! We stayed from Friday to Mon. We were impressed by the decor at the hotel and the friendly staff. The hotel receptionists were informative and helpful with what trendy places to visit. We especially loved the "social hour" with a free app and choice of cocktails being offered. At first, we were slightly disappointed when we realized how far of a walking distance to downtown, wouldn't recommend walking, but quickly realized we benefited from being in the less chaotic area of the city. There were a lot of events occurring downtown, so staying in midtown was an added bonus. We loved being near the Gulch section and there were a few yummy restaurants less than a mile away. The staff here is awesome ! It's evident they truly enjoy working in hospitality industry. We had many interactions with the front desk (we're needy) and each and every time they were always polite and so helpful. From giving us advice on places to go around town, to making sure we had everything we needed for our stay (extra waters, parking validation, room cleaning etc.) The restaurant attached to the hotel was fantastic! Best breakfast and coffee . We also enjoyed lounging at the pool and the gym. Had to knock off one star because the gym floor wasn't swept and there was dust and dirt along the perimeter of the floor and underneath and around the treadmills. I am a Kimpton Karma Member and try to stay at a Kimpton as often as I can whenever I travel, so I have come to know and expect greatness from the Kimpton name, from the moment I enter the lobby. The corner Queen Suite on the 2nd floor was the perfect size for 4 guests. For my "Music City" visit... THE SHARPS: Nice location, reasonably priced, clean, spacious and beautiful room. The beds - oh so comfortable and together with the blackout curtains make for an incredible night's sleep. The artwork in the hotel is unique and worth walking the floors and lobby to browse. Even our bathroom was artfully decorated Also, a pretty decent fitness center. Wonderful Kimpton Wine hour and hospitality, as usual. The free coffee, tea and hot chocolate in Henley and ice water in the lobby was much appreciated too. Love the Altier bath products! THE FLATS: Upon arrival, we were greeted with a nice bottle of red wine and a sweet treat but since there was no wine cork in our room at the mini bar, after calling three times and talking with Kelvin, we still couldn't get one. We also ordered a bottle of champagne and a "charcuterie plate," which we were told would come with the wine cork we needed, but it wasn't until the fourth call to a gal at the desk that we got the wine cork AFTER the champagne and charcuterie plate turned up several hours later, and it consisted of three slices of meat, a few pickles and toast. Would have been fine if someone had simply just set the expectation for when it was available and what it was. Thankfully, I was not charged for it though. This was the first time I've ever experienced a request at a Kimpton Hotel that wasn't resolved on the first call, especially for something as simple as a wine cork. It was just a little frustrating. The other thing that was a nuisance were the corners that stick out from the beds. A couple of us in our party tripped on them and came home with bruises on our legs. After the first 2 days we got used to them, but watch out, they are not fun to trip on! Also, the power outlets near the bed were really loose and if you plugged a phone charger or medical equipment into them they kept coming out. The shower was huge, but a let down because the showerhead itself was so small with little pressure. So unless you stood directly under it, you'd get cold fast. Take a short walk to some great places close by like Bananas & Caviar for a light meal or brunch, Two Boots Pizza or Union Common for a craft cocktail. Broadway Street, Hillsboro neighborhood, local Mid-town shops and restaurants, The Gulch and brewery/winery/distilleries of Marathon Village were a short walk or Uber ride away too. read more

This is a great property and represents exactly what I love about the Kimpton brand. I've had great drinks at Henley and the food is just as excellent. (pro tip: Try the soup of the day!) The rooms are comfortable, well-appointed, and the toiletries are top shelf. Always have had a good view (although I'm rarely in the room). Great proximity to some local spots and walking distance to Music Row, Centennial Park, and more. Reasons why I dig it: - Hosted wine hour and a great happy hour over at Henley. - I get a friendly message a few days before check in asking if I need anything. - Everyone is genuinely friendly here. - Today at check in, we were asked why we were in town. I would like to start off by saying that although this is a beautifully designed hotel and I really enjoyed my stay here, there are several odd quirks that I have to point out. First off, we had booked through a third party app that did not allow us to select how many people were in our party so we are automatically given a basic king bedroom by the hotel. The hotel front desk associate said that was part of the deal/discount by using that app and that there were no rooms available. Only until my husband had to press further, Oh really? You have no rooms after the weekend of graduation, on a Sunday evening? that he switched his gears and said, "let me work some of my magic" and believe it or not, a room magically became available... My husband tipped him anyway (bless his generous heart) and the guy didn't even bother to tell us that the only way you can access the garage is through the 3rd floor exit door at the end of the hallway to the left. And that you can only go in the garage from the building, but you can't get back IN THE BUILDING because the door locks. You have to walk outside to the front entrance just to go back to your room... we thank the lady who works on the resident side of Aerston for explaining that to us. Not only that, but he failed to mention that you have to always come back to the front desk to check in with your parking ticket EVERY time you go out so that it gets billed to the room. Then when we went upstairs, the TV didn't work. We called the front desk and he said apparently there's a magic trick to this too. You have to press channel up twice or something... and then it worked. We stayed there for 2 nights and it was comfortable. The showers were really nice and spacious and we loved their boutique soaps. On the third night we tried out Loews and didn't like it so we ended up back at the Aerston. This time, we got a guy who was EXCEPTIONAL. Great service, informed us of EVERYTHING, even went so far as to give us the tip that if you park on the 6th/7th floor of the structure (I forget, inquire with the desk) that you can get in and out of the building from there. That's also the floor where you can take your pets out. Overall, great stay aside from that one second rate staff member. This is an autograph collection hotel and their hotels are always designed top notch. I stayed at the Kimpton in SF which wasn't Autograph and it was incredibly disappointing... Anyway, definitely stay here if you can! It's beautiful and in a great location. Just beware of the mediocre magic man. read more

The midtown location that it is in offers a different but appealing vibe! I am from NYC so I would equate it to the Williamsburg Brooklyn to NYC. Our stay at the Kimpton Aertson was great. We were traveling through with our large dog and the Kimpton are one of the few hotels that accept dogs of all sizes. The front desk staff was very friendly and even gave us a few treats for our nervous dog. Because we had the dog, we ordered room service and the cheeseburgers and grilled miso peanut asparagus side we got were excellent. The room was quiet- well insulated from the street noise. The bed was very comfortable and the room itself was very clean. They had a great gym and roof top pool. Two the bed duvet had a nice hole on it even after I told them the second day that it needs to be changed nothing happened. They also for the 3 days I stayed did not vacuum nor clean the bathroom floor a pice I'd paper sat at the same spot for 3 days. The Kimpton Aerston is a centrally located and well appointed hotel. We stayed on a Friday night. We are accustomed to the hustle and bustle of downtown and the Gulch areas of Nashville, but I was pleasantly surprised by the energy here in Midtown! The valet and check in process were very smooth despite things being rather busy. Our room was stylish and comfortable. We headed straight to the pool and enjoyed some mid afternoon cocktails. (It's a little confusing to find when you step off the elevator. May I recommend a sign??) The pool is also open to residents of the Aerston apartments, so expect a young party crowd. We wanted to walk to dinner and we had several great options.. Henley, Nada and Ainsworth. We hit all 3! If you want more of a bar scene with live music, Losers is a brief walk up the road and will give you a good flavor of the more old school Nashville. If you are in town to do anything associated with Vanderbilt, you will be directly across the street. If you are lucky enough to have time for a spa detour, don't miss The Woodhouse Spa on the property. read more

From start to finish our stay was fantastic. We stayed for 2 nights with our doggy's. On arrival it smelled lovely, people were friendly and you're in a fantastic part of town. Great for walking. They brought us a dog bed and dog bowls, our room was spotless and gorgeous, the bed was VERY comfy and we had a super sweet view. The staff was attentive, the coffee in the lobby is local from Franklin and DELICIOUS! The bathroom products smell amazing and the pool was crisp and lovely.
