In the past, I have always been impressed with the Kimpton Hotels service, though this stay was impacted by forces beyond human control (pandemic). I found it a tad bit agonizing that I acted as my own housekeeper; however as I mentioned "forces beyond human control." Despite the delayed internet and television connection, and the suboptimal water pressure. The customer service team did a great job and providing service in spite of social distancing guidelines. Special thanks to Meleck, who works over night for his amazing customer service. Meleck was very helpful. Despite having to listen to three annoyingly possessed desk phones that seemed to be the result of a system glitch, he was able to manage the chaos while being attentive to my needs. So, despite the hang ups mentioned, the property was very clean and the customer service was stellar. read more

Didnt really get to experience too much as we arrived Thursday evening, had to get ready quickly to get to a show and left the next morning to go to our AirBnB. That said, the place is super cute. Staff are really friendly. The room itself, is nice and the beds are comfortable. We didnt really experience any noise issues that some other reviewers mentioned. Loved the bathroom. I will say that they need to have much brighter lighting and more mirrors in the common areas. Traveling with girls, this is a must! You cant expect us all to cram into the bathroom and use the one small mirror in there! read more

I just left the Kimpton Aertson Hotel and truly wish I didn't have to leave. The staff, starting with the Bellman who greet you when you arrive, to the beautiful and delightfully warm ladies at the front desk check-in, to the fantastic Chef and bar staff to the GM Mr. Mark Hayes, who has truly done a great job putting together a terrific property and all the other managers whom I had the pleasure in meeting and everyone of them was equally as fantastic as Mark Hayes. I love the Kimpton Hotels, but not this one. Paper thin walls and windows. I can hear EVERYTHING in the next room, and the loud music thumping outside until after 2am. Was not informed at check in that housekeeping service is not provided unless requested. No literature in the room at all. I paid to upgrade my room, but does not feel upgraded at all. Very basic, and certainly not a Kimpton experience that loyal customers have come to associate with the Kimpton brand. read more

A cute boutique hotel but doesn't have much else to offer aside from the room itself. The amenities are lacking and outrageously priced. For how much you pay for a room you would expect more. There's no microwave, no space in their mini bar fridge for your own items, no complimentary breakfast, no coffee etc. You literally pay for the room itself and then they force you into the restaurant to spend money on things cheaper hotels provide. Seems like the hotel thinks it's better than it actually is. Don't get me wrong, it's clean, staff are very kind, and it is nice but they offer less than a Holliday inn. read more

We had a 3-night stay at this location, and it was fine for what we needed however we were a little disappointed for what we paid to stay there that it wasn't as upscale as we expected. The beds where comfortable and the room was nice, but it would have been nice to have a coffee maker in the room. They do provide complementary coffee downstairs in the morning, but it was not fit to drink. They have a rooftop pool that was nice, but the rooftop bar was not open at 12:30 in the afternoon which we thought was weird. (no worries, we weren't doing the pool anyway) The hotel is a little over a mile plus from where all the action is, but there are a few places close to the hotel that we really liked. H & S Bagel was fabulous, and a short walk...and The Stillery Midtown (you can see from the front of the hotel) had great burgers & mason jar drinks. It was just "okay". I've stayed in other Kimpton hotels before and this was my least favorite. -biggest pet peeve: Lack of attention by the doormen (except the more mature, trendy gentleman in glasses-he was the best!). I had to open the door for myself and my children MANY times while the doormen stood outside chatting with one another. -The vent for the air conditioner was halfway hanging off of the ceiling and we had to fix it ourselves. -The air conditioner in the rooms are very noisy and stay on all the time. -Toilet paper was cheap and rough! Can I get some nice toilet paper for almost $300/night? -room was small and tight -no in/out privileges for self parking. Treated as if you are a visitor for self park because you share the garage with the attached residences. -Good location across from Vanderbilt University in midtown. However, loud traffic noise do stay on a higher floor. I was expecting more from Kimpton. I think they have some work to do to make this an acceptable boutique hotel. I would stay somewhere else in midtown when visiting Nashville next time. read more

I am a Kimpton fan and have stayed at their properties all over the country. This hotel is in a cool part of town and you can walk to several hot spots for music and food (Hattie B's fried chicken and Biscuit Love, for example). As is the case at any Kimpton, the staff is very friendly and they aim to please, and they were great to our dog which goes a long way with us. The rooms are a bit small for my preference, even after an upgrade. I will always remember and appreciate that we were pulling into town at midnight on a long road trip and needed a place to stay/sleep for 8 hours before hitting the road again. I called the hotel directly and the front desk manager gave me a very reasonable price for the room and comped our parking. That's the kind of service that keeps me loyal to Kimpton. read more

Feel guilty sitting in here writing this review. But my personal experience was not great. I mean, nothing bad happened but here's the story: I get there at 3:40 which check in was at 4 so totally my bad I just hadn't heard of such a late check in and assumed. We go up to the pool to wait for it to be ready and they call about ten after 4. There are no pillow cases but we can go ahead and get settled in, not a huge deal but I needed a nap. So, people come by with pillow cases but we were trying to sleep so I just have them lay them down. All the pillows are piled up on a chair. Beds didn't have any fitted sheets on them either? Also I couple other unfinished things like the toilet wasn't flushed when we get there and there was a ball of hair on the faucet. Not the end of the world it did feel clean, but I mean then the water bottles are $7? Just feels like it wants to be higher end but missing some finishing touches that made the expenses feel not worth it.... pool was cool. But I hadn't been able to check in so it wasn't really relaxing. Also had the worst sleep of my life which probably wasn't there fault just kind of stupid. read more

We have had the most amazing stay here!! We came to celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary. Thank you to Terrence and the rest of the "A" Team for making our trip to Nashville so magical. We were impressed with the service from the moment we walked in and there was cold, sweet tea in the lobby. We loved relaxing by the pool with the chairs in the water and drinking refreshing cocktails. We loved the breakfast downstairs-get the spicy avocado toast! We also hung out in the bar and drank delightful cocktails at Henley. But, the best part was the suite that we stayed in. We loved the look and feel of this place- very hip and modern. We felt right at home and honestly don't want to leave!! The team also left us a bottle of champagne with a Happy Anniversary card. Our stay could not have been any more perfect. We got in after midnight after driving 15hrs, didn't have a reservation but the staff here went above and beyond to make us and our 100 lb. bull mastiff feel welcomed. We got help parking our U-Haul and the nice girl at the front desk knocked $100 off the room since we were only staying a few hours. The hotel is beautiful, they have fancy shampoo and soap (Im a hair stylist, this matters lol) and they welcome pets of all sizes with no additional charge. If Im ever back in Nashville I WILL BE BACK! Five stars for a five star hotel! read more

Unfortunately not able to give negative stars. I love Kimptons and have enjoyed stays in multiple cities - this Nashville location is the WORST and tars the Kimpton name. Room service you say? That would involve multiple calls to the restaurant off the lobby until someone FINALLY picks up and takes your order. You then get a paper bag of to-go food with styrofoam containers and plastic forks. Call and order a bottle of wine, and they bring you a bottle of wine - JUST a bottle of wine. No glasses. Tried ordering breakfast one morning, and no one ever answered. Eventually it kicked over to the front desk and they guy said he'd have them call me back asap. NO ONE EVER CALLED. Loved the morning coffee station and above-average fitness center. Henley, the in-house restaurant and bar, is 5 star all on its own. A very disappointing experience at the Kimpton Aertson Hotel. Let me start by saying I was so excited about staying at a Kimpton hotel. Slowly, the excitement turned to disappointment and I was left with the feeling that I would not likely return. We arrived at the hotel at 2pm. Check in is at 4pm so we understood when we were told that they didn't have my and my coworker's rooms ready. They took our cell numbers and said they would text when ready. We took to the town and returned at 4pm assuming they just forgot to text us. When we got to the front desk we were told that our rooms were not ready and they would text us when ready. When I asked how long, I was told they didn't know. We took a seat in the lobby and waited. At around 5-5:15pm a girl came from behind the counter and asked if we were waiting on rooms, when she asked our names she said to my coworker, your room is ready. Why he didn't get a text I am not sure. They got my room ready and up I went. Upon entering the room, it didn't smell real fresh. I can get over than but after I put my suitcase on the bed and looked down on the carpet and saw nail clippings, I was just stunned. The room as a whole was put together but would not call it clean. I went into the bathroom and stepped on something. Upon closer view it was a dried up contact lens. At this point, I am so disappointed. The decor of the hotel is modern. I would comment more on that but it was really over shadowed by the total experience. With all the fine hotels in the Nashville area that I have stayed, the Kimpton is going to have to step it up a bit, in my opinion. This place was my saving grace for my most recent trip to Nashville. I had checked into a different, horrible, location and fought with Travelocity to be moved. This hotel is where they moved me and it was AMAZING. Super Artsy, excellent desk staff (thank you for being so nice at 3AM after what we'd been through) and super helpful Valet's as well. This place was clean, had a very nice view and was located in an excellent location to play in Nashville. If you can afford to stay here, then you absolutely should as it really is a very nice hotel. read more

My dog and I really enjoyed our stay here! The staff was AMAZINGLY kind and welcoming and the amenities were top notch. The room was comfortable with a nice balcony overlooking midtown and we couldn't have asked for more. That said, they only got four stars because the parking situation needs some work. The valet system they use is terrible and it was never explained to me whether or not you HAVE to valet...A lot of people were standing around complaining while awaiting their vehicles, so I hope they fix this soon. Like the feel of the hotel. I've been staying at kimpton hotels for many years all over the US. However this one needs work. The USB port (only one in the room) didn't work. And the maintenances person left me hanging. Couldn't dust it went to get a replacement half Hour later showed up with a solution that also didn't work. Their very limited room service has to be ordered Via the TV. But once you do you then have to call to verify . Seriously what's the point! No wine or any alcoholic beverages can be delivered to your room after 10:00 pm. The hummus plate I finally ordered (only 3 items available after 10). Had three plastic pots of a variety of dips. A plate of 4 short celery sticks 4 red pepper stripes and a single sliced red radish! No pita, no carrots or at least enough veggies to warrant the three pots of (whatever they were ) dips. Sorry to say it but this hotel is not up to the standards of other Kimpton hotels I have stayed at. read more

When you travel often, you pick up on things that are annoying. When you get in after hours, there is a sign to swipe your key to enter. There is no sign to use a swipe device to the left...but there is a swipe device and the front desk doorbell next to the door. You ding dongs, put them next to one another or have a sign that adds directions to use the swipe device on the left. Main entrance, no sign to go left or right for check in...have a damn sign that states check in...then room key wouldn't work when we got to room. Call local hotel number and had to go through a menu of items in order to get to a human...worthless hotel for $400 per night! read more

Great hotel. The overall atmosphere was awesome. I loved the modern decor. The food was outstanding. I ate breakfast at the restaurant twice. The free wine happy hour from 5-6 was a nice touch. I wish the bathroom in my room had a door, a fan, and outlets by the mirror outside the bathroom. The toilet paper was so cheap for such a nice hotel. The hot/cold water temperature was very hard to get right at the bathroom sink. It was either scalding hot or freezing cold. read more

I love this hotel! I've traveled all over the country for work but came here from LA for a mini vacation with my sister. The hotel is luxurious, great design and art! I'm a Interior designer so I'm very picky and notice every detail detail. They have Happy hour-free wine- every day! The rooftop pool is beautiful as you sit and watch the sunset. The restaurant: the Henley was great! Friendly service and the chef even came out to meet me after I commented on his Trailer crackers with crab and pimento cheese. Sounds gross but it was the bomb! Everyone in the place was ordering these! I called the hotel after booking and spoke to the wonderful manager, Grace. I asked if she could do anything special for my sister since she is sick and has cancer. I wanted this to be a special memory for us. Grace went all out! Upgraded the room, balloons, flowers, chocolates!!! My sister has never stayed in a hotel like this so it was a very special treat. Thank you Grace and the entire staff for making my sister feel welcome and worthy. I am forever grateful!!! It was a wonderful stay and I will be back! read more

I've stayed here a handful of times. Typically very nice, clean and overall convenient. The more we stay however...the more downhill this place goes. I am all for a dog friendly hotel. I LOVE dogs ...but a few months ago when I had stayed here I was out all afternoon and meeting up with a friend later that night. I came back to take a nap for a couple of hours after my long afternoon and before going back out that night. 5 minutes after falling asleep I was abruptly awaken by what sounded like 2 very large dogs barking NON STOP on the other side of the wall. I never got to take my nap because it was constant and they never did stop. It was SO INCREDIBLY loud. It lasted for the next 2 hrs right up until I left to go out for the evening. They might want to consider designated floors for pets because this was pretty unbelievable.... and annoying. This stay I think put the nail in the coffin as far as ever staying here again. We had left a tip and note for housekeeping and left for the day. We had forgotten to take the "do not disturb" sign off the door. Came back to a note on the door that they were not able to clean because of the do not disturb sign. Understandable as it was our mistake....but when we walked in the note and tip were gone with room still a mess. There was all of a sudden a coffee maker left that was never even asked for. I feel like it was left as an excuse for them to enter the room and take the money. Because of this I don't feel very safe leaving my room now. We had called downstairs and told them what had happened only to get basically an oh well attitude about it. To top it off there's a gigantic dog urine stain in the middle of the hall outside that stinks...and has been here since we arrived. Also there was dog urine in the elevator upon getting back this evening. They really need to get this under control. Definitely won't be staying again. read more

We recently visited the Aertson and were blown away by the incredible staff and beautiful design. At every turn there is amazing art. This is not a cookie-cutter hotel, it is truly unique and beautiful. We loved the wide open lobby and the gorgeous rooftop pool with unbelievable views of Nashville and the Vanderbilt campus. The rooms were spacious and well appointed. GM Mark Hayes and his staff could not have been more friendly and accommodating. The adjacent Henley restaurant was great. Amazing experience! The staff were so incredibly amazing I can't say enough great things about their service! They found out we were there celebrating and sent us up a complimentary bottle of champagne! They also had complimentary beer and wine available from 5-6 daily. One of the worst serviced hotels I've ever been to. I've travelled all over the world and never had such bad service. Stayed at Loews and Thompson in Nashville as my daughter is a Vandy student. My wife and I thought to try this hotel and I have to say will never come back. Our room was not serviced until 5pm everyday as they claimed that was their policy. When I explained to them that we have a school event to attend their response was that it was their policy that they have until 5 to clean the room. Just outrageous. Management is clueless especially for the evening shift. Save yourself the $$$ and don't stay here. You will get more at the Loews or Thompson. read more

We stayed 4 nights. 3 out of the 4 nights housekeeping skipped our room. The bell staff was terrible. They were too busy on their personal cell phones to come out from behind the stand to take our keys. The morning we left, the Valet was asleep in his truck that he had parked out front and had to get out of truck, tuck in his shirt and then slowly walk over to his stand!! He had completely missed the text to get our car. The front desk person that morning also was on his phone, barely looked up and just said "did you check out on line?". All in we paid $500 per night to stay at this hotel, but got $75/night service. Will not go back on our next trip to Nashville. Our experience at Kimptons has always been great so we were very disappointed. Because the hotel is lovely and in a convenient location on the West End, we give it one star. read more
