This is THE WORST nail salon I've ever been to. They're uneducated, rude, and ignorant, to their customers. They charged me for gel nails and only did a gel top coat. I was told it would last 2 weeks so I was surprised when it was chipping the next day. When I returned the following day to have it fixed, the manager tried to yell at me and tell me I didn't ask for gel nails. But yet she charged me for Gel Nails, when I tried to explain why this is wrong she just yelled something in Korean, so I just let her go on and on like an idiot. Then she began to curse about me in broken english to a client she was working on. It's also very shady that when I first walked in she said I could pay by credit but once it came time to pay she asked me to go next door and get cash for the payment. I've NEVER had dip powder only last 1 day, heck I've never had regular nail polish last 1 day. I have a love hate relationship with this place. The family can be very nice but sometimes (more than often) they are rude. At times, they can be a bit aggressive in regards to asking for tips, which is not ok! I tip based on services rendered and then minimum is 20% I increase accordingly from there. The owner is very sweet, however she's the only person there who knows how to apply acrylic, which can make the wait time long; even if you have an appointment. This establishment has access to credit card usage, but for some reason they always want the customers to go to the bank. 3 stars because they do provide a relaxing environment, the place Is clean which is MAJOR! This was my first time going..Went in for a full set which is priced at $45 when I asked for almond shaped nails she said it would be $10 (so $55 plus tip) more which I did not complain about since some nail salons do charge more for different shapes...she did look a little unsure when I asked for the shape as if she wasn't used to doing it or didn't want to put in the extra effort but she said okay. I noticed when she was applying the acrylic she didn't really seem to be doing it correctly (I attended and graduated from cosmetology school). My cuticles looked terrible, she ended up cutting me. Within the first 5 days ALL of my nails had lifted around the cuticle and it was extremely painful because they would bend and pull at my real nails aka ripping my skin. I called her exactly a week after my appointment to tell her that this was happening and she told me to come in so that she could have "a look". I went in that same day and she looked at my nails and said oh this is happening because you have "oily nails" wtf..so she blamed me for her poor acrylic application and then continued to add nail glue TO MY CUTICLES (btw it fixed nothing as the nail began lifting THE NEXT DAY). She didn't apologize or offer any kind of discount or money back. I paid $60 for a terrible nail set that didn't even last a week. I would also like to add that they're customer service is trash and they are understaffed. Ugh wish I looked at reviews before I went here. My regular nail salon was booked and I was in desperate need of a mani/pedi. Had a spa pedicure which was just like a regular pedicure with callous removal. Nothing special or spa like about it. Manicure was ok but it was done while I was in the pedicure chair so the polish looks like my 8 year old niece did it. She rubbed the skin raw off of part of my heel while using the callous removal tool. My bad for not saying anything when it started to hurt. Lesson learned. I really was hoping this could be the nail spot for me because it was recommended by a friend and the owner was friendly, but I was sorely disappointed. Came here one evening and the place had 2 clients. Was told to return in 15 to soak gel polish off. I did. Waited an hour while another client got what seemed to be tips done. If I knew I was going to have to wait an hour before I would've gotten my mani, I definitely would have come back the next day. I really didn't have an extra hour to kill besides the time that I had to have my nails done. But I felt kind of obligated to sit and wait with my hands soaking in acetone for most of that time. So I waited and waited. Meantime two more people came in to get pedicures; they also waited because there was only one person working. Because they were return clients, my manicure seemed rushed in order to get to them. I was told to return if there were any issues with the manicure (perhaps she knew she rushed). Not surprisingly then, I had a wrinkle on one of my fingers in the gel polish that I noticed after I left, as well as chips in several nails. I returned the next day to point out the problems I had in the nails and she agreed only to fix one of them (the next day). I never went back. I didn't understand why she wouldn't fix them all when I just had service 1 day previous. It was bad customer service to me. The wrinkle in the polish blew a few days later, revealing matte polish underneath. Another big chip formed in my thumb. Now, I don't often get my nails done, but when I do I get the gel polish. I did a pedicure and once I switched my shoes she literally took my used disposable slippers and used it on another client On top of that I brought an extra customer with me and we ended up spending $200 in total for shit nails and even shittier service. THIS PLACE DESERVES ZERO STARS! If Yelp would let me rate them lower I would. I wish I would have read reviews before I went. An overweight middle aged women did my nails and was rude the whole time. She was treating me like a child and telling me I had to sit a certain way or she couldn't do my nails. I get my nails done every two weeks and I've never heard anyone say they couldn't do my nails unless my elbows were on the table. Being that I've had elbow surgery I explained to her that this was a very uncomfortable position. She got upset and started being very aggressive with my hands. My last visit took place on Friday, June 26, 2015. I went in with both my daughters, 16 and 9, to get pedicures before leaving for a week 1/2 vacation that evening (thus my late write up). We picked out our colors and the owner's nicer daughter (don't know her name...slim one) instructed us to have a seat in the pedicure chairs (both she and Regina were doing pedicures at the time). My daughters and I sat down in the chairs, then one of the workers turns on the water in the foot basin and throws the "blue cube" in for us to begin soaking our feet. I put my foot to the water but it's too cold. When I told the worker this (slim with blonde/brown hair) she sharply says to me "YOU HAVE TO WAIT". Now..... Before you say 'why didn't you leave at that point?' Please know it was 4pm on a Friday afternoon and I was leaving for vacation that night at 9, my youngest daughter was all smiles at being a part of the "big girl treatment" (I normally take her to Blossoming Diva Girl Spa). I filed the comment in the back of my head and chose not to 'act up' but let her know I'm not comfortable with the temperature and will get up if it's not made warmer.... She obliged. She begins working on my feet.... But rushes through everything! I slow her down and ask her "did you get all of the previous nail polish off?" "Can you buff my nails again?" As I don't think a once over with a buffer suffices -_- Finally, she finishes and just gets up and walks away.... My girls are already done and the shorter older woman (another nice one) escorted them over to their chairs...as they normally do.. This chick didn't push back the arm of the chair for me to get up or anything, so on my own I proceed to walk over to the dryer station.... I move an inch and look down to see the paper between my toes isn't pushed down far enough and two of my toes are smudged. -_- I'm near the owner at this point who looks down and calls the chick over and says to her "you didn't apply the paper correctly". The chick frowns, plops down on the floor with a bottle of nail polish remover and begins to "pat" the polish on my nails as to somehow smooth out the polish. The polish was completely rubbed off onto the inner flesh of my toes! I tell her, "don't you think you need to remove the polish altogether and just polish both toes?" She sucks her teeth, says something under her breath, grabs a cotton pad to wipe off the polish but her attitude was so awful and her actions were clearly tinged by ally this that the chick knocked over the bottle of polish onto the carpeted floor....and all over herself. I wait for her to collect herself..... She dabs the same cloth pad on her clothes, and the carpeted floor... Then swiftly WIPED THE PAD ACROSS MY BIG TOE! I kicked my foot back and asked her why she would do that knowing people walk in shoes on the dirty floor.... She needs a new pad, this is gross! (The owner was doing a wax at this point). The slimmer sister said something to her so the chick gets up and gets a new cotton pad, with a new bottle of remover and cleans and proceeds to polishe my toes....but, She doesn't grab the base coat -_- so now, I remind her she needs the base coat and again, she huffs and puffs but ultimately does what I request-_- I then have to remind her I need a top coat for my nails and she screws up her face, applies the top coat and stiffly walks away. When finished drying, I walk over to the owner to pay...she tells me she is giving me a break and charges me $53. Lol...a regular pedicure as posted on their wall is $18!!!! 18 x 3 =..... I say, "wow, thanks for the big break! its been what? 3-4 years I've been coming here right?" I tip the older woman... But the blonde/brown hair woman?! I walk over to her to hand her a $5 (I always believe the tip is a reflection of the service so $5 is very low for what I would've normally given) but the look she gives, and then...she turns her back! With all of that the service and all, I decide against it. The first time ever I never tipped someone...ever! I look for the manager to tell her about it, but she is waxing eyebrows. Well... You think my story ends there?! Nope: The owner runs after me and my kids on the street and says loudly, "so where's the tip?!" I try not to "act up" in front of my girls so I looked at her and said, "I took care of that and I'm going to my car". She says "oh, so the tip you gave one woman is to split between the both of them?" I walk to my car, put my girls inside..... But come back in the shop and tell her firmly about the experience we had and I'll never come back. The absolute worst place I have ever been. I have short nails but every other nail place has been able to do long acrylics on me and they've lasted 2+ weeks. The lady who did them said it wasn't possible (I've been getting acrylics on my short nails for 4 years so it is very possible) I showed her how long and she cut them half the size, when I asked for stiletto shape (the pointy one) she gave me almond shaped, I finally agreed on coffin and even those were the worst shaped coffins I had ever seen. She said for the length I ASKED FOR it would be 60, the length I got at most places would be the minimum price for tips ( here 40 which would've still been high for the crap I got) I paid and left without them finished and got charged a full 60 for unfinished, half assed nails that were nothing like I wanted. 'Luckily' that night since the acrylic was on my skin and cuticles they were 'easy' to pop off after 4 painful hours. I have never had the person doing my nails tell me I'm wrong, it's impossible, argue with me or do whatever she wanted and not what I asked for. I have been to this nail salon twice, in emergencies and have never been impressed with the service or the attitude. But today my daughter and her best friend went for manicure/pedicures and the daughter/manager must have thought that since there was no adult present she could unleash her rude and hostile behavior on them. These girls have gone to nail salons and hair places throughout the city and there has never been an issue. But perhaps this nail tech is not familiar with being in the service industry, perhaps she doesn't like having to give young brown girls a manicure pedicure. Whatever it was her behavior with the girls and then her hostile behavior with the mother was unacceptable. I will make sure that all of my neighbors know this establishment doesn't deserve our dollars. So on May 20th 2017, I came to have a mani and pedi. There was 2 persons in the chair. There were 5 persons working. They proceeded to conduct my manicure whole I was sitting in the pedicure chair. I asked for them to wait and have me sit at the table like they learned in cosmetology school. They refused, so I just received a Pedicure. If I could put zero stars I would. This used to be one of my favorite nail places when I was in high school and when first entering it seems great. It is clean but the service is horrible. I made an appointment for a manicure pedicure for 6 for my mother and I, when arriving we were immediately sat in a chair. 40 minutes later we are still waiting. The owner finally comes over to start my mothers nails but stops mid way to start on a caucasian woman's feet. After waiting for 40 minutes we decide to just leave and come back another time. Horrible experience! I usually come to this salon for pedicures but decided to get a full set as well since it was the week of my graduation... worse decision I ever made! The owner did my full set and had no idea what she was doing. During my TWO HOUR stay at the salon the owner was constantly complaining of my "weird" shaped nails and basically used that as an excuse for the service taking so long and also for the horrendous appearance of my nails. She continued to put gel polish on my nails even though I had requested twice to use the same Essie color I had on my toes and she proceeded to get upset with me when I told her i didn't like the gel color that she INSISTED on putting on my nails. Fast forward to the payment part when she proceeded to charge me $85 for my terrible looking nails!! As she walked away I looked down at my hands and two of my fingers had two big drops of blood from the nail tech cutting my cuticles too much so i immediately addressed this. Instead of apologizing she told me my fingers were bleeding because I have "baby skin". I began explaining to the nail tech that i was in pain and that I am bleeding because she cut me, not because I have "baby skin". To top it all off as I was drying my terrible looking nails, a nosey customer went up to the nail tech and asked if she was okay because I had "went off" on her about my bloody fingers as if she was the victim... this was the worst experience I've ever had, she complained the whole time and did not shape my nails at all. THE ABSOLUTELY WORST EXPERIENCE, ESTABLISHMENT AND WORKERS I'VE EVER ENCOUNTERED! NOT EVEN WORTH THE ONE STAR YELP MAKES ME GIVE! In my search to find a new mani/pedi establishment I started going to this nail salon. My encounter on the 3rd visit was enough for me to write this review. The owner's daughter (the bigger one) is very rude and does whatever the heck she wants (it's disgusting). By that I mean she is rude to customers, always unpleasant and has a very nasty disposition. I observed as a young lady walked in, sat in the pedicure chair and requested a towel to cover her legs because she had on a dress. The owner's disgruntled daughter replies, "what towel!!!!" and throws the towel on the young ladies lap. The young lady gets up with such poise, places the towel on the chair and walks out quietly. In disbelief I look at the owner's daughter and she says, "what"? To which I replied, "that wasn't very nice, she only asked for a towel?" She looks at me and replied, "whatever". After going back and forth and telling her how disgustingly rude she was and her replying by saying whatever and making comments in her native language to the other blonde/brown head lady. They giggled and carried on for the duration of my pedicure. I said nothing because the best revenge is always - NO TIP! It was also 5pm on a Friday and no where else to go so I suffered through it. Once the blonde/brown haired lady finished my mani (i think her name was Hannah), the owner (the one who never intervened to correct her rude daughter) came over and asked me to pay. I gave her my debit card and she asks me why don't I have any cash? I'm sorry do you take debit card, she replies "yes". My reply, "so what is the problem"? After all of that bickering about the tender, she then asks me if I tipped her staff. My reply, "no and you can ask your daughter why". I have never ever encountered such blatant disrespect and poor service in my life! I would never ever go back to this place or recommend that anyone spend their hard earned dollars in this place. Actually, ZERO STARS!!! Without a doubt, today's mani/pedi was the worst experience I've had in a nail salon. Kim's Nails AKA Adela Nails is owned by a rude, obnoxious, unprofessional woman and staffed by her equally rude daughter and other rude technicians. I walked in and asked for a mani/pedi and was directed to pick a color. I then asked to have my mani done first. The daughter looked at me as if I had ten heads and said "It's ok, do your pedicure first." I explained that I was in a rush and wouldn't have much time to dry and she said "It doesn't matter what you do first, it's the same thing, your toes will dry while you get your manicure." Clearly, I wasn't being understood. I further explained that I could risk leaving with wet toes, but I would be driving and didn't want to ruin my nails. I should've walked out at this point, but decided that I was already there so I'd just stick it out. The daughter walked away without responding further and another employee told me to sit in the pedicure chair. She proceeded to give me a manicure in the pedicure chair while I sat hunched over and sideways. As if this wasn't bad enough, I think I could've done a better job polishing my nails with my eyes closed. The employee got polish everywhere except evenly across my nail beds. I chose a very dark brown which should've easily covered my nail, but the color was almost transparent and I had to keep asking her to touch up spots. This clearly annoyed her as she exhaled loudly more than once. I finally asked "Do you not see my nail through the polish?" and she didn't answer but begrudgingly touched up the nails right on top of the top coat. While this was happening to me, the woman to my left was being huffed at by the daughter for changing her mind about her nail color before the nail polish bottle was even opened and the woman to my right, who is apparently a regular customer, was left sitting in the chair while the owner left the salon to buy her tantrum-throwing grandchild (whose mother is "the daughter" and who was hanging out in the salon) balloons from the party store next door. I couldn't believe my eyes! Once my toes were polished I walked to sit for a minute to dry and had to address what I just experienced. I asked the owner if she was, in fact, the owner, and if she and her employees were always rude to customers. She actually smirked at me and as I elaborated her daughter began berating me! She asked why I was "starting with her" and told me to "just stop talking." I told her not to speak to me that way and she continued to tell me to "just leave." I told the owner that I read a few reviews while I was getting my pedicure and that she, her staff, and her establishment are living up to the negative reviews and her response was a shrug. I could go on and on. I should've learned my lesson when I had my nails done here a few years ago and as I handed my credit card to the owner she reached out and tilted my wallet towards her and said "You have cash, can you pay with cash, pleeeeeease?" Shame on me for giving them another chance. I have been getting my nails done for more than 20 years and thought I'd seen it all. I've been to every salon in Fleetwood and many in the surrounding area (as well out of state/country). I cannot stress enough that no one should patronize this salon. After 8 years of patronizing this nail salon the owner/manager was rude, discourteous, and obstinate when I explained that two days after getting a pedicure and my daughter getting a manicure, the polish on my toes were chipped and only 2 of my daughter's finger nails had polish on them. Have been going here for a while. Decent service, nothing great. However my last visit will be in fact my last. The owner told me to stop drying my nails because they wanted to turn off the machine! So rude! Save yourself and go to the 15 other nail salons near by. read more

Have been here several times over the past few years with mixed results. After my experience last night I don't think I'll return. Waited over an hour for a pedicure with another customer's child screaming in my ear. The same customer was yelling on her phone for 30 min in the chair right next to me. The owner's daughter finally asked her to keep it down. At last my pedicure started and I was looking forward to relaxing when the owner's grandchild came in and started screaming. My nail tech stopped my pedicure several times to talk to the toddler and then rushed through the rest of it, cutting two of my toes. I had waited so long that it was past closing time when my pedicure was finished and I was promptly scooted out the door. I'd rather pay more and get a relaxing, professional experience than have a rushed pedicure in a room full of screaming children. read more

I visited this spa on four occasions. The first two were very pleasant visits. However the third visit seemed a bit rushed, and my gel manicure didn't look as good as the first two visits. I went back for another visit and the lady who seemed to be the owner was the one who tended to me and I asked her to cut my nails round after realizing she has done then square. She refused to and told me they looked nicer that way, and was nice but firm about it. I pointed out to her that I really disliked square nails. She kept going and rather than starting an argument, I let her go ahead and promised myself never to return. I cannot imagine why she thought I would ever return. I spent a week looking at my square nails and a gel manicure which was chipping in chunks. I have now returned to the salon I used to go to in the city and my nails are nicely cut and done just the way I like them. I would never return to this salon and neither can I recommend, because while they are all pleasant ladies, I felt I was bullied in this particular situation, and that bothered me even more than the chipping manicure. read more

Rude, surly young girl is what greets you upon entering this place, which is now called "Adela Nails & Spa". That explains the 3 customers in there on a Saturday afternoon. There are plenty of better options, go elsewhere. I did...after about a minute and a half in this awful place. read more
