The style of manicure and pedicure is no longer the same, and they do not have the steamer, but I kept going because the owners and the techs were nice and I wanted to support the business. Unfortunately, my last experience left me disappointed. I walked in one day when they were unexpectedly busy. One of the owners asked what I needed done and then asked me to come back in an hour. I said no problem, left, and waited elsewhere. When I came back, they were still busy, so I sat down. Two other people walked in after me, and they were taken ahead of me. It seemed like they had forgotten that I had returned after an hour, as they asked. I waited another 10 minutes, thinking maybe it was just a mistake. Nope. I felt ignored, so I quietly left. No scene. I just never came back. I rarely complain, and I try to support local businesses as much as I can. But being inconvenienced that way, and feeling unimportant as a regular customer, did not sit well with me. I know every person's experience is different, and this may not be yours. But I figured I'd share it just the same, at least to alert the owners to be more attentive to their regulars.

When I'm too lazy to do my own nails and want to treat myself I come here knowing I will get exactly what I want. I always get a full set of acrylics and they do the most amazing job. Any time I have shown a reference picture of what I'm looking for, my nails come out looking great. Their pricing is the best I have seen compared to so many other places- it's still super affordable without missing out on the quality. The salon is super clean, has a very casual vibe (normally has something playing on the tvs), it's never super crowded (but would recommend making an appointment) and everyone is super friendly!

But with that being said, I am the customer and I asked for the sides of my nails to be filled in as I do not like to ever see The Nail tip I like the nail to fully be covered with polish. I know that is not everybody's style, but it is mine. I asked for a simple white and white French tip. The French tips are crooked. The sides of my nails were not filled in, and when I asked for them to be filled in The Nail tech said quotations I don't do that because I file down the sides after and when there's too much polish on the sides, it looks chunky." I then shook my head and said OK knowing that as the customer I want what I want I am definitely not a Karen but when I am paying for service, I would like to be heard and feel like I am getting what I pay for. Onto the attitude, my nail tech was on the phone arguing with her boyfriend at the beginning of the service which again I was respectful, kept my mouth shut, but hoped that it didn't interfere with the service moving forward. It almost felt like she didn't want to do my nails and she just wanted to leave, which is not something a customer ever wants to feel after my service was done. She took her apron off, grabbed her purse and was running out the door, which again made me feel a little uncomfortable as a customer you never want your customers to feel that they're an inconvenience. Walking in the place was beautiful. It seemed very clean. The music was very nice. When I called for the appointment, the man that answered was very polite and super sweet. I will give this 2 stars as I will chalk this up as somebody not having the best day. But even on a bad day, first impressions are everything.

The quality of the work however, especially at the prices charged, was abysmal. I walked in on a Monday afternoon with no appointment for a mani/pedi. The place was pretty empty and they were able to take me right away. I opted for the honey something or other pedicure which included a honey treatment and 10 minute massage with hot stones on my legs as well as a paraffin treatment on my heels. It was all really lovely and added to the pampering aspect of a salon trip but that's where the praises stop. Outside of the leg treatment and massage, my pedicure consisted of quickly buffing my feet, then filling and painting the nails. Not a single cuticle pushed or trimmed or callus attended to... none of the actual pedicure part of the pedicure. The paint job was messy and the nail tech didn't even attempt to clean up the edges. There's also an absolutely ludicrous TWENTY DOLLAR upcharge for gel polish. There were wax and skin remnants all over my feet at the end of the pedicure. I was then led over to the nail station where my manicure consisted of trimming and painting my nails. Once again, no cuticle maintenance of any kind, no nail shaping - none of the things that make a manicure a manicure - then sloppy painting with no cleanup. They provided a quick shoulder rub while my nails cured, which was nice. All in all, this isn't the worst experience I've had with a nail salon and if you just want to be pampered a little and don't mind paying for it, you might like it. But for a whopping ninety five American dollars before tip, I expect a lot more than 12 minutes of mediocre rubbing. I certainly expect to not have to finish the work myself and I definitely expect a basic mani/pedi to include an actual mani and pedi. Because everyone was so nice and accommodating, the salon was so clean and they have a pretty decent color selection, I would come here again in a pinch... but I'd have to be absolutely desperate.

It's always clean and bright in there, and I have noticed that the tools they use come out of packages showing they've been sterilized. I especially enjoy the massages that are included in each of the packages. The priciest option for $100 includes a 30 min leg massage and 20 minute back massage. That's reasonable considering you also get your feet scrubbed, exfoliated, and manicured. My pedicure usually lasts a month, and that is with regular nail polish!

No issue with that, but I even showed a photo of what I wanted, and didn't feel like my end product was really matching what I wanted (other than it being French tipped.) I wanted my nails a little longer, and I felt the French tips he did were a lot thicker than I wanted, and were kinda hap-hazard and crooked. (See photo of both my index fingers, the French tips don't match) I couldn't see them while he was working on them, so it was hard to really see how they looked until they were done, which is why I didn't have the opportunity to say anything about it all. I also felt like when he was finishing them, he buffed out the bottom so part of my natural nail was already showing. Because of this, they looked really grown out after only one week. Overall just wasn't the quality I wanted.

I had my nails done yesterday at Magic Nails. This was the third or 4th time I have visited this…read moreestablishment. It was a bit of an odd visit. First and foremost, I visited because I had a gift certificate. I walked in around 3pm. It was pretty dead and I was immediately seated for a pedicure. My nail tech was super quiet, which I appreciate. There are no options here except gel or no gel. I like different options for the pedicure even down to what kind of lotion do you want? Some people are smell sensitive. Right down the road (and around the corner) is VIP Nails. I just like that they have options! (Such as Honeymoon pedicure, callus removal, etc...) She did a fine job but I can share I could do what she did at home. What I particularly like about pedicures is that they get all that dead skin off. She barely went to town. I opted to have a manicure as well since I had the gift certificate and I had enough time. Here's where things got funky... I was not offered which shape I wanted my nails to be. She chose rounded which I never go for. She did not lay out anything out for the manicure to happen over. Usually its a plush towel. She cut corners- one hand got cuticle lotion the other did not (she oddly sprayed it in the water?) While she was working on my nails a man came over asking about my phone. HE PICKED IT UP AND STARTED TOUCHING THINGS!! ON MY PHONE!!! I think he is the owner. At a certain point during my pedicure an odd noise started occurring. Like a dead animal wail- it was him singing. Nobody else was flinched, it must be a common occurrence. I did pay attention to him and he likes to have a good time. Hey- good for you. I like having a good time too but I don't appreciate you touching my phone. The towels used to dry me off were like old rags, tattered and rough. Sitting at the drying station, which are very old, the amount of funk in the fans was gross. Bottom line: If you are looking to be pampered- head to VIP. If you want the job done and cheaply, Head to Magic and leave your phone out.
