I had my nails done yesterday at Magic Nails. This was the third or 4th time I have visited this establishment. It was a bit of an odd visit. First and foremost, I visited because I had a gift certificate. I walked in around 3pm. It was pretty dead and I was immediately seated for a pedicure. My nail tech was super quiet, which I appreciate. There are no options here except gel or no gel. I like different options for the pedicure even down to what kind of lotion do you want? Some people are smell sensitive. Right down the road (and around the corner) is VIP Nails. I just like that they have options! (Such as Honeymoon pedicure, callus removal, etc...) She did a fine job but I can share I could do what she did at home. What I particularly like about pedicures is that they get all that dead skin off. She barely went to town. I opted to have a manicure as well since I had the gift certificate and I had enough time. Here's where things got funky... I was not offered which shape I wanted my nails to be. She chose rounded which I never go for. She did not lay out anything out for the manicure to happen over. Usually its a plush towel. She cut corners- one hand got cuticle lotion the other did not (she oddly sprayed it in the water?) While she was working on my nails a man came over asking about my phone. HE PICKED IT UP AND STARTED TOUCHING THINGS!! ON MY PHONE!!! I think he is the owner. At a certain point during my pedicure an odd noise started occurring. Like a dead animal wail- it was him singing. Nobody else was flinched, it must be a common occurrence. I did pay attention to him and he likes to have a good time. Hey- good for you. I like having a good time too but I don't appreciate you touching my phone. The towels used to dry me off were like old rags, tattered and rough. Sitting at the drying station, which are very old, the amount of funk in the fans was gross. Bottom line: If you are looking to be pampered- head to VIP. If you want the job done and cheaply, Head to Magic and leave your phone out. read more

Dirty feeling when you walk in. Broken chairs rattling when the massage function turned on. Cold water to soak my feet in. The clippers weren't sharp so it was awkward cutting my toe nails. That must be why she ripped my toenail almost off?! When I pulled my foot up to look she said "don't worry, I'll fix it." I told her to stop and I said I didn't want any more. I asked how much and she said $20. I asked her if after the chair was broken, the water was cold, and she ripped my toenail. she wanted to charge me $20. not even a one star today. I have psoriasis and therefore have skin build up under my nails which is why I go often (every three weeks) for a mani/pedi. I have been going to Magic nails for about a year so they recognize me. Today during my pedicure, the older gentleman was getting the dead skin out from under my nails and decided to the put debris on the top of my foot for everyone to see instead of a tissue or towel - and then pointed it out to me (like I am not embarrassed enough). I thought the woman next to me was going to choke - then he proceeded to get upset with me because I used the towel to wipe it off my foot before putting it back in the water. My daughter and her friend went to get their nails done for a school dance. You do not need an appointment, but I would recommend it if you do not want to wait a long time. They had two nail techs working and three doing pedicures. The place looked clean. The only thing my daughter did say is the tech she had their English was not to good so you had to show pic of what you wanted done. Their prices are not bad either. Can't wait to go and try them for myself. Just one note they take credit cards but not Amex. read more

This is the FIRST salon that the gel manicure lasted so long!!!!! I wish I knew the name of the nail tech because she did awesome! The photo is DAY 17...the only reason the one nail is gone is because I picked and peeled the glitter polish. This place is terrible!! They reuse nail files on everyone, use the same tools on everyone (unsanitary) and overbook themselves because they are money hungry. They started my nails and couldn't finish it because they overbooked themselves. They made me pay $33 for a full set that wasn't even finished! Not even a clear coat! Horrible service , I came in with my sister for us to do acrylic sets , when I showed the lady what I wanted she kept shaking her head and saying no , but took my sister in to do hers. They fucked up my sisters nails and cut her ,then left her to do someone else's nails then told me and this other girl that they didn't have time for us . So I went in the car and left. Really disappointed in my most recent visit here. I was coming here for years and stopped going because I left the state. Went back here thinking I'd get my nails done. The Pinterest screenshot is what I wanted done and the picture of my nails is what I got. The woman was so rude when I asked for her to do my nails this way. She had no idea what she was doing. She cracked many nails. She was annoyed at the fact that she even had to do my nails. It seem like she didn't even know how to do nails. I don't think I will ever come back, now I have to go spend more money and try and find another place that will fix my nails and give me what I want as the nail color polish is more of a purple rather than a blue which is what I wanted read more

I visited Monday. When I left my clear polish was extremely bubbly I removed the polish all together. Today a nail completely broke off (Wednesday). I am on vacation from a cross the country so it's not like I've done anything to cause this. I literally broke it by pulling a door shut and it and it hit against the door. read more

My favorite place to get my nails done! They are quick and always get you in within 20 minutes on a walk-in. If you're going to schedule an appt I recommend Jackie, he does a great job on nails and is quite the conversationalist. The place is spotless, and they have a great selection of polish (none of which seem to have been sitting around for years getting gunky which is a pet peeve of mine). Average pricing: around 25 for a full set. 18 for a fill. 40 for a mani/pedi. They also have "kids" pricing which is great if you're like me and have a little one to bring with you sometimes. I went here on a whim because I haven't found a nail salon I love ( I've yet to get a pedi at Alayne White, but I'm there next). Anyway this place was really close to my house and utterly forgettable. Things I do remember: -I went during the middle of the day in the middle of the week and it was pretty busy, so either they have a good base clientele or lots of people who work near by were getting nails done on their lunch break. - The salon was quite and big. There was a few televisions that were on silent and there was no radio on. So, it was a little too quite. I felt awkward that I could hear the lady next to me having a conversation. - They didn't use new/fresh tools on my toes. EW this totally grosses me out. I won't be back. I'll try my luck at Alayne's. I know I will love it. I'm just not looking forward to paying the costly price for it... read more

Go to this place all the time. They are pretty busy so I always book an appointment. They take their time to make sure my nails look perfect. They have a lot of stations so it's a great place to go with my friends for a girls day. I always see Jackie. He's great with design ideas. read more

Awesome job. Very good luck with the quality of the nails, I just had my first one break after 4 months of nail fills.... and they fixed it that same day, no charge. The color selections are unmatched, especially gels. Jackie, Amy, and Michelle are my favorites, but I let all of them work on me. I've been going to magic nails since I was in middle school (I'm 20 now) and never have I had an issue like I have in the last year or so. Too many technicians half assing their job. Many people will respond to me with "call ahead, ask for Jackie" or one of the few technicians who know what they're doing, but I don't have time for things like that. When I get my nails done it's a spur of the moment thing, whenever I have time between both jobs I work and everything else I have to do during the day. On top of that I shouldn't have to call ahead in order to receive proper service. I sat there for an hour, the woman butchered the shit out of my cuticles and I left with crooked nails; the one pictured below being the worst. If this was a one time thing, I would completely understand. But this unfortunately happens every time I leave this salon. I wish I knew the name of the woman who took care of me today because I have had multiple issues with not only the work she does but her shitty attitude as well. Not worth the $30-$40 for a fill. Only reason I'm not giving them two stars is because Jackie is one of the best owners out there, but unfortunately he can't work all clients himself! He needs to find himself a better staff. read more

I'm sure this place is overall a great nail salon but my experience there was irritating. I go there thinking my nails would come out looking extra pretty.. no. The guy did my hands so nice but were crooked to the max. Then the same day. Not one but two of my nails come right off and I didn't even apply pressure for them to fly off. It was the simplest as opening my shower curtain and bumping my nail on the side wall and doing dishes! He did not put enough glue on them to stick well. I paid over $100 on my mani pedi. The only great part was my toes. THEN, I go back and complain to the guy who did my nails the second time on how poor the other guy did them so he ended up "fixing" them only making it worse. He was careless about my nails. He legit put two new nails on the ones that flew off and shaped them shorter than the rest. Then he paints them a complete different color. So I made a comment on how they aren't the same size and that that isn't the same color. He then painted the rest of my nails with the one that didn't match the rest of my mails on the rest of my nails. You can see in the image that that gel polish is peeling right off. Then my ring finger nail flies off just by pulling up my leggings! Then he draws a flower on my ring fingers quickly. It came out messy. I'm just truly upset because I spent over $100 for poor service! I don't recommend this place to anyone because this can happen to you too. Honestly, if there's something you don't like, just say it. You are paying money for it to come out THE WAY YOU WANT IT! Stay pretty ladies. read more

I went on a wim because I couldn't make it to me regular salon. The place was cleanish. I didn't have to wait which was nice. I got a french gel manicure. I did have to ask her to do a second layer of white as it wasn't white enough and could see my nails in through the tip. She could have been a little nicer. They seem to have good ratings and steady clientele but I wasn't sure impressed. I'll see if it lasts longer than it usually does. read more

After having my nails virtually untouched for a year, I decided to treat myself to a manicure. This salon is very close to my job so I decided to try it out instead of going to my regular place in providence. I'm actually really glad that I stopped in here. I was greeted by Jackie and told that it would only take a few minutes and to pick my color. I was really happy to hear that, as I expected to wait a bit since I was a walk-in. I do wish they had a wider variety of colors, but they did have a decent selection of polishes. I was brought over to a younger manicurist, and I really appreciated how she used gloves as she worked away on my nails. There wasn't much conversation but that was okay as she was very skilled and focused. She made sure to ask me how I liked the nails multiple times. I liked that, as I could check and feel comfortable asking for something to be touched up or fixed. I didn't get any crazy nail art like you see in the pics, but you never know I might try it out next time! Overall, my experience was positive here. I felt that the staff was friendly and more conscious of keeping things clean than other places I've seen. Great choice in northern RI. read more

I have gone to Magic Nails probably about 4 times. I was pleased with my service every time. The last 2 times I went to Jackie, he is extremely good at what he does. I had gel fills for my full set. He has a great eye, is funny, and kind. He is truly a nail designer! I give him a color idea and he runs with it. Also, my nails could've gone to 3 weeks without a fill. I have never had any breakages or problems. I have switched to Magic Nails as my go to nail salon. There is a fun atmosphere and it is obvious by the way customers are greeted that there are long term relationships. This says a lot to me! It is clean, great music, and although I haven't experienced it.....they do a little karaoke sometimes. read more

Love this salon! Everyone was so kind and Michelle did an awesome job on my full set.

By far the worse and unacceptable experience! In all honestly go anywhere else! I went to get our nails and feet done from the beginning we asked the employees to direct us to color options they had. Received no help. Other customers there were kind enough to direct us. They have small selection which was not a problem I found a color quick but the lady did not want to paint my nails. I am a calm person so I changed it for her. I chose a simple white because you can never go wrong with white. After getting my pedicure done. I had chosen a gel color for my regular nail and again the lady had a problem with my color. I changed it a few times and each time there was an issue on her end about the color. While cutting my cuticles all she did was complain about all the other customers booking late appointments. This was not the first time I caught her talking bad about paying customers. While getting my pedicure that was all she did. After a couple minutes of discussion other color options, she was still not happy with any of my color options. She ultimately took me out the chair to help another customer so that I could pick a color that suited HER liking and time. I was getting gel nail polish and I was the CUSTOMER AND I WAS THERE TRYING TO PLEASE HER! The lady left me standing around until another actually kind employee offered me a chair. She never came back and became busy with the other customer. My appointment was at 5:15 and 7 came and my simple gel manicure was still on hold. At that point I decided to leave and the employee at the counter took my frustration as a joke. I was treated like I wasn't a paying customer. Do not go here they will talk bad about you and not even attempt to fulfill any of your wishes. read more

I've been coming here for years, and overall they do an excellent job. I've had acrylics, gels, manicures, pedicures, etc. The pedicures are my favorite! They soak your feet in salts, clip and file your nails, remove any hang nails, and use a callus remover all over the bottom of your feet and heels. Then they wash your legs and feet with a bath scrub, massage them with lotion, and finally wrap them in a warm steamed cloth. It usually takes about 45 minutes to an hour....but you'll be wishing it took longer. The chairs you sit in for the pedicures have an optional massaging settings...wonderful! I've had only one or two bad experiences. Once was for a gel manicure, and it was because the manicurist was new (she also no longer works there), and the other time was my manicurist was miserable. I normally don't care, since I like to be left alone to piece in quiet, but she seemed annoyed and very rough. These experiences have never swayed me from coming back every two weeks. Just an FYI: Don't bother making an appt, you're always going to have to wait, unfortunately. read more

Not wanting to go through a chaotic customer service at the place I used to go, I decided to try a new place. After all, what can go wrong with a manicure or pedicure except for a do over, isn't. I made a call to Magic Nails and made an appointment. Though my appointment was at 9.30 for a dip manicure, I had reached by 9.05 and parked in front of the salon. Seeing the salon open already though it says open time at 9.30 am, I walked in to check if I can have a pedicure before my Mani. Boy, were they willing to take in walk ins.. So, yes, they are pretty accommodating. I sat for my pedicure. Things I went through after that made me feel too pampered :) You get a pedicure, massage, hot stones and hot towel wrap.. How does that sound for $28.. Amazing isn't ? Never knew my legs were that tired till the lady did my pedicure. The only setback was communication. She wasn't able to follow and converse with me comfortably and because of that language issue many praises I had for her wasn't understood..even trying to ask for suggestions for other colors went in vain.. Bummer ! Nevertheless, I did my best to smile so that she knew I was thankful for whatever she did. Next, came my manicure. She took her time and did such a neat job. No rush and t has been more than a week now and my nails look pretty amazing. Waiting to see how long it lasts..but am sure, no matter what I'm going back for my pedicure. read more

Worst manicure of my life. Asked for my acrylics to be removed and a new set put on. Technician talked me out of it (stupid on her part bc it's twice the cost to get a new set) then couldn't even get my dip color off so SHE PAINTED OVER IT. I could still see it on the sides because she didn't cover the whole nail. Frustrated, I paid, tipped and left. Only for the gel to start peeling less than two hours later. I went back and asked for my money back and the manager publicly argued with me and insisted He would redo them. I told him No, your product peeled off in two hours it doesn't matter who puts it on. I had my receipt, he remembered me from two hours prior and he continued to argue with me indignantly. Only once I threatened to call the health department (they don't soak their files in between each customer and I saw them reuse a tub liner) did the manager give me my money back. read more

I wouldn't Even give this place one star! My sister and 2 cousins got their nails done here so I decided to try magic nails out. I got a full set done by Jackie and they sucked. Not even a week later they started to pop off. It was literally each day one nail would start to peel off from the bottom. I paid $40 at magic nails and ended up going elsewhere to repair the one's that are falling off! My sister also had the same problem as me and she also went elsewhere to fix hers. So after paying the $40 I also had to dish out $3 each repaired nail and so far that's been 6 nails! read more
