The beef broth is nice, rich, and flavorful, with tender meat and a good amount of noodles, but we weren't expecting the sate oil to be an extra dollar as other pho places give that on the side free with the meal. The tea we got paired well with our food, simple and refreshing. The mango sticky rice dessert was sweet, creamy, and satisfying. I've been here a couple times with a friend since I love pho and this is a few minutes away from his place. I always gets the veggie pho and we get some spring rolls. Overall, the veggie pho is about as delicious as they come - the vegetables were perfectly cooked and the fried tofu was actually somewhat flavorful (although Id pick unfried next time if the option exists). What makes this a stand-out spot is that its not a hole in the wall vibe which is rare for pho in these parts! The service was decent. So we decided to give this one a try. They have great selection of Vietnamese food ranging from Pho to pork chops & noodles or rice. Honey garlic pork with shrimp is absolutely delicious. Do checkout their house specials on the last page in the menu. Also ask the server for recommendations if you haven't had any other Vietnamese food other than pho. We usually eat at various Vietnamese restaurants and are familiar with a good one. We have visited places in Seattle, Washington, Texas, Maryland, and Virginia. We are on an adventure to find this place interesting and are curious to try it. If we like it, we will come back; if not, we won't. We explored some Asian restaurants to find one we can keep going to. We decided to stop by Kim's Pho Restaurant after seeing its advertisement on Facebook because it looked like a good place to visit. We ordered three items: summer roll, vermicelli, and sizzling crepe. We asked if we could substitute beef for pork in the sizzling crepe, but they couldn't do that. However, they agreed to remove the pork. The flavors were unimpressive, and it made us feel unwell. The only thing I didn't like about this place was the 20% service charge. It made our dinner more expensive since we paid for the food, tax, service charge, and tips. Since the food is okay, it should be at a reasonable price, but it isn't. We rated it one star because the total cost affected us. The staff is good and friendly, but we felt this restaurant wasn't the right fit for us. Firstly, this review is long overdue!! I had the pleasure of dining at this establishment with two friends . We started with the roll combo appetizer made up of three different kinds of appetizer rolls from a rice paper fresh roll with shrimp to a crunchy roll. What's it out to me was how fresh these items were from the kitchen. Prepared well and extremely flavorful with quality ingredients. We also opted for some fresh squeezed juice options. This is very unique! I ordered a lemonade and my girlfriend ordered a fresh squeezed green juice and they were both absolutely incredible and refreshing to accompany our meal. We opted for filet mignon pho . And let me tell you... It was a luxury I never knew I needed or was missing. The steak was so tender. The broth was very flavorful as if it had been cooked for hours, and the noodles were tender. It was a bowl that was worth its price, and it is very difficult to beat. My friend ordered a different spicy soup, called Bo ho hue (I am sure I am misspelling this) but while it was a lesser known local Vietnamese favorite, when I sampled the broth, it was also incredibly flavorful with a deep beef and spice base that was so satisfying. I had the pleasure of meeting the owner, she is a very down to earth and lovely woman! It is clear that she puts her love and passion into her menu and into her products, it was also very clear to me that the produce that is purchased for these items is top-notch . My friend and I were feeling pho this past rainy Wednesday evening so we stopped by for dinner. The interior is well-decorated and not your typical hole-in-a-wall. Our server got our orders quickly and made sure we had enough water throughout. FILET MIGNON PHO - 23 The pho broth was rich and savory. I enjoyed sipping on it and loved the depth of the flavor. The filet mignon was very tender. The noodles had a good texture and soaked up the broth well. While it's definitely one of the better phos in the DMV, I can't justify paying 23.00 for a bowl of pho when I can get a bowl elsewhere for 5.00-10.00 cheaper. Overall, it was great to try! Kim's Pho Kitchen & Bar has a diverse menu with authentic Vietnamese dishes to please even the pickiest of eaters as well as the adventurous. Their specialty is the pho which the say they spend 15 hours making the broth for, and I believe it. Their beef pho features a deep, aromatic broth full of flavor that easily rises to my top 5 pho places in NOVA. Kim's was fairly busy on a Thursday during lunch time, and there was a wide variety of people there dining which always makes me happy. Despite the modern, upscale interior, the service is still quite authentically Vietnamese, so if you want someone to come by your table for something more than seating you and taking your order, you'll need to flag them down. No disrespect, just something to keep in mind. Overall, I was quite pleased with my experience and will come back to try some of their other non-pho dishes that are hard to come by (e.g., banh xeo, banh khot, and banh hoi). read more

I feel ambivalent. It was a really cool hip interior which is different than one might think for a Vietnamese or pho restaurant. If you don't think of it as a typical pho restaurant i think it helps because it was pretty pricey for our family. We both had the short rib pho which was good but also $$ pricey. It included a very flavorful short rib but also some sliced beef. We indulged in a side of fatty brisket and it was really good The fried egg rolls were really good with pork. They also had fried tofu appetizer which our kids like. Service was fine- didn't get checked on but they were very polite and we had to go to counter/bar for an item. No big deal. I ordered the filet mignon pho and shaky beef also with filet mignon. As far as the food, I thought everything was mediocre. The broth wasn't too salty but not too hot. It was a little too lukewarm for me. The shaky beef came in a sizzling dish but served with sliced romaine and pickled veggies that did not go well with the dish. I wish the veggies were served cold and not combined. The point of eating a filet mignon steak is not to overcook it but it's served in a sizzling grill which then overcooks the meat. There is a nice ambiance inside with a darker theme. The service was great with all the staff being very friendly. Ample parking outside and clean bathroom. I found this place on a whim after running errands. It's nice to find Vietnamese food away from Falls Church because sometimes the traffic to the Eden Center can be a pain. This place is quite picturesque. You can tell they put some thought in their colors, decor inside and out. I've been here twice and have tried their bun Bo hue, the filet mignon pho, the Saigon iced latte, and the chocolate lava cake. I will say their prices is on the high side but you get pretty decent portions so it doesn't feel you're getting skimped. I love their soup bowls because they're super random and have different designs. It makes it more homey versus your typical white soup bowls at most restaurants. I've always caught them towards the end of the night on a weekday so it's never too busy. Their service pretty efficient, checking in to place orders and getting your dishes pushed out. Is this place distinctly different than other Vietnamese restaurants? No. Even so, between the service and the tropical feel of the restaurant makes you return. After seeing this place on instagram, I was so excited to come out and try this place. However, our experience was ruined because the service was TERRIBLE. You would think being of the same ethnicity, you would be treated with a little respect and familiarity, but that was simply not the case. It's a little disappointing and shameful especially to see everyone else in the restaurant being American/Caucasian and being catered to like they walk on water. When we first walked in, the lady (assuming she is the manager or owner) made eye contact with us and completely ignored us. After a little while, she finally acknowledged us and said "two?" No "hello," no "welcome in," nothing... As we were following her to our seat she said, "we need to clean it off." So we went back to the front door and waited. After they were done cleaning, no one told us we could sit, so we just went and sat down ourselves. They did not bring us a menu, so we ended up grabbing one off the table next to us. The food was okay, but it probably would've tasted better if we didn't feel so annoyed and uncomfortable. No one checked on us during our entire meal. Every person/family that came in after us were greeted as soon as they walked through the doors. Can you guess what they were? I've eaten here perhaps eight times. I want to love it: I love Vietnamese cuisine (and people) and it's close to my home. And, the Pho is good. The place is well decorated and classy. On the downside, service needs improvement. Even when not busy, they seem slow to turn around every phase of a meal. Not particularly attentive. This has been a consistent experience. Even worse when sitting outside. And on several occasions I've been amazed that they do not timely bus messy tables from previous customers, even when there is staff standing around. It is almost like a studied disinterest, uncommon in the restaurant industry. Whatever the cause , it is definitely a factor that discourages me from going, as there are many good Viet restaurants in our area. The good news is that is not an impossible problem to address. No idea why there's so many negative reviews because this place is incredible! Loved the interior with all the cozy greenery because it really feels like you're dining in someone's home. Service was also incredible with everyone going above and beyond to make sure that our dining experience was a 10/10! As for the food everything we ordered was AMAZING! The pho was pretty average, though it was great for a rainy day, which is when we went. I ordered the beef pho while my friend had Kim's pho. My friend ordered this to delivered to my house when I was at bed rest. The bún chả hà nội was pretty good, meat was greatly seasoned and delicious. The ambiance is really nice and the staff is really friendly and attentive. The food, however, is just 'OK'. I ordered the vermicelli with grilled pork. While the bowl looked huge, it felt like the serving was pretty small. Not too much of a concern, but for $18 it wasn't as filling as other pho places I've been to that charge the same price (or are even cheaper). As stated, the food was just okay. It wasn't bad, but it definitely wasn't anywhere near great. They told me that the bowl doesn't come with a spring roll, even though I saw photos that showed otherwise (unless it was a change in menu), so I spent another $9 on for spring rolls. Those, too, weren't amazing. They were smaller than other restaurants, but good enough to satisfy a craving and go with the bowl. All in all, I'll probably go back if friends/family members want to give it a try, but I won't voluntarily go back on my own. Ive been on a search for the best Banh Mi in the area. The prices here are absurd! I paid the $18 (everywhere else charges less than $10) and so disappointed. I found one cucumber and barely any other veggies. Pho was decent but prices here are double anywhere else in NoVa. It was ok, kind of hard crunch when you bite into it because it was over fried. We ordered the banh Xeo, bun Bo hue, bun cha Hanoi and bun hoi. The only thing we would order again would be the banh xeo. The rest of the dishes were mediocre. The main entrees did not come out til 2:00pm. The staff was always hiding inside the kitchen and it was hard to flag them down to ask for any thing. We came here because of ticktock videos and IG reels but definitely not worth the hype and we would most likely not be back. I've drove past this place multiple times and yesterday, my family and I finally decided to stop by for dinner. When looking from the outside the place looked luxurious. My brother and I ordered the Bun Cha Hanoi while my parents ordered the Vietnamese Steak and Eggs. Both Bun Cha Hanoi came out with the meat room temperature and the veggies tasted bad. My brother and I both love eating vegetables but it tasted rotten so much so that we had to put them to the side and almost lost our appetites. The steak and eggs that my parents had were okay.
