So my mother went and got her nails done by a older lady (name unknown) My mom ended up not being to happy with her nails and went back and asked for them to be fixed on Friday 7/22/2022 and Leon agreed to fix them but boy oh boy, this less of a man had nothing but retaliation on his mind.... He was yanking my mom's hand's (mind you she has arthritis) kicking her underneath the table (not saying sorry) and mocking her, being flat out rude, unprofessional, and light weight assaultive. My mother was not charged for the mistake/fix however she still Tipped the piece of **** and when she handed him the tip SHE said SORRY for whatever problems I may have caused and he took it (No shame). Just the previous week my mom was telling me about this place and finally happy finding a place in Fairfield and how "nice" Leon was..... I expressed that I am getting dizzy from her rotating the chair and she still keeps on doing it. The person cutting my hair also have either an unpleasant cologne or smokes cigarette. Bad manicure. Biggest waste of time and money. She was nice up until halfway through when she found out I only had a card to pay. I told her I didn't have any cash and she peeked to look at my wallet and I opened it for her just to prove it. Then she continued to ask if I even had cash for her tip which obviously was a no. I decided to still tip her 20% because I generally tip that much and when she comes back my card was charged an extra fifty cents. Apparently that's the fee for using your card which she didn't tell me about. End result I have uneven nails and cuticles and a bad paint job. I have been going to Kim's for a few years now and she herself never disappoints! The woman can cut hair! She recently sold her business in Vallejo so unfortunately it means a further drive...But, it's so worth it! In the last 2 visits she has done some wonderful work on some color I wanted. I showed her a picture, (on my phone even) and she went to work. I get many complements on how my color looks and on the cut as well. As for the prices....Yes, they seem a little steep but when you walk out looking like a million bucks does it matter? RUN AWAY. NEVER GO HERE. TWO HORRIBLE EXPERIENCES. I signed up for Yelp just because of this place, to try to warn people. The first time I went it was just bad customer service. I walked in 20 minutes before closing and Lynn took me for a full set. I asked if they were sure it was ok to start that late and they said sure, no problem. But by the end up my appointment, ten minutes after they had officially closed, Lynn was putting the final clear coat on and the front desk guy goes to the back and turns out all the lights. I barely had time to collect my stuff before they were both AHEAD of me at the front door with their stuff. No sitting at the fan for a couple minutes to let my nails dry, much less getting to sit under the lights to let my nails really harden and dry. They just talked to each other in a foreign language, he seemed to be hurrying her and obviously wanted to get the heck out of there asap. My nails were still wet as I walked to the car and they got nicked and smudged. I don't understand why they would take me for that late of an appointment as a walk and then not let me finish the full service. I even tipped her well! I thought it was crappy and I ended up having to repaint my nails (I brought in my own color that I had just bought from TJ MAXX a few doors down). I gave them the benefit of the doubt and was grateful they took me so, stupidly, I went back.... And when I went back for a fill I was given to a lady named Kim, (I didn't ask for Lynn even though she was available because of what had happened the first time I was there). Lynn is an older lady who seemed sweet and like she was a veteran, she said she had been doing nails for ten years. I was feeling so confident until SHE STRAIGHT UP DRILLED HOLES in the nail beds of two fingers with the electronic file! It hurt so bad! I didn't realize what had happened because no technician has ever actually let the electric file drill a hole in my nails down the flesh underneath, I just thought my nails were being sensitive for some reason. I definitely winced in pain and pulled my hand back a little when it happened both times but she didn't seem phased. I later realized she tried to cover it up by APPLYING ACRYLIC OVER where she had filed too far into my nail bed because a week later I was at a doctor appointment and while waiting for the doctor to come in, I pressed down on my thumb nail because it was seriously bothering me by that point. I kid you not, a bunch of puss squirted out from underneath my nail all the way to my thumb knuckle. The more I pushed down on it the more puss came out. IT WAS SOOO DISGUSTING! I was horrified. And embarrassed, trying to clean it p before anyone came in. I was freaking out about a nail fungus and how bad the infection might be and losing my whole thumbnail! As soon as I got back to my car I pried off all my nails and yep, the two nails where I remember it being painful while she was filing (my left middle finger and my right thumb) had holes in them down to the flesh underneath. My middle finger wasn't infected but there was definitely a hole. My thumb nail, because of the infection and the puss needing room to spread out, created a big cavity under the nail all the way back to my cuticle. GREAAAT. I am so mad, there is no way to cover them up, paint them, make them look good...anything I do would trap moisture and cause a fungus. The ridges on my other nails from her filing them down are so much deeper than normal too. So I'm trying to grow out my nails with basically the worst ridges ever. I've had to soak my nails in vinegar (the ones with the holes) so they won't get a fungus. It's ridiculous. How does a person with ANY experience let that happen? I've have had my nails done MANY times and this was the absolute worst. Like I almost never want to get fake nails again because of this. I went to Kim's for my birthday for a spa experience. I made the mistake of not checking it out, first. I got the expensive treatment--nearly $70 for a mani-pedi. Granted I got some sort of cream and hot towells wrapped around my feet...but I walked out disappointed. For $70 I'd like to relax. Have some water with lemon maybe. Time to close my eyes. The lady who serviced me rushed through the procedure. While my feet were soaking, etc, she stood at my side and applied polish to my nails. When she was done I realized that she'd gotten polish on my cuticles, hadn't applied a second coat, and what was on there had little bubbles on half the nails. And my lady *did* talk. I wanted to look at a magazine, but she didn't get the hint. She was sweet, but I really wanted to have some "me" time, that I don't get at home. I would have rather had her talk to her co-workers. And they might have liked it too. One of the employees put her head down on her nail table and napped. So--an extra star for cleanliness and the massaging chairs. But it was not a $70 experience. I always try to book the appointment with Kim or Nancy for hair. They always know what they're doing. I would recommend to explain exactly what you want and ask how much it would be before doing anything. I was able to come in for a last minute Shellac service. Unfortunately, my shellac started chipping two days later whereas my other nail shop lasted me about 3 weeks with NO chipping. I believe the price is around the range where other nail places charge ($25 to $30), but I will not be going back here as a regular. I work too hard for my money and for my nail to be chipping 2 days later, for a Shellac product, Id rather get a regular manicure and expect that from regular nail polish. I came in to the salon without an appt to get a manicure, pedicure, and eye brows waxed, but they accepted walk-ins! It's a Saturday afternoon so they are fairly busy! I waited about ten minutes and was sent to a pedicure chair where I was able to have my feet in the spa till a lady was ready to take care of me! I had a bad in grown nail in my big toe and the lady was fairly gentle and able to get it out for me! The massage was really nice and felt great! I could visually see the sterilizing center and watched the girls clean their instruments which is a HUGE PLUS in my book! My manicure was just ok, the lady was nice but she cut my cuticle a little too short so they bled a little bit. I also had my eye brows waxed and she did a great job at not changing my shape but just cleaning them up for me like I had asked! Over all I had a good experience! read more

There's a first time for everything. Came here on a whim to get a mani/pedi and end up doing a whole set of different services altogether. First time stepping into here I was quite pleased with the cleanliness and the look of the place. Luckily they take walk ins so they were ready for me whenever I was ready. So I pick up my color and head on over to the nail section of the place. Never got that color put on and I got tips done instead. At first I was like, 'WTH? This is so going to get me in trouble' Long story. . . But when she was finished with the work I was taken aback. My nails looked freshened up. It's going to take some getting used to though because of how really sharp and clean they looked. Haha. So while having some small talk with the technician and my friend who happened to tell me to come here the lovely lady looks at myself and asks willingly if I want a pedicure done. At this point, the nails have taken up some of my time (although I'm happy with it) and she goes on asking about waxing my eyebrows because there's not much shape to it and it could use some work. Well!! Talk about honest. After some thought I went ahead and got it done. The back room was actually in good shape when I came in. I didn't notice any lingering hairs around. ( shivers at the thought ) I'm lying there as my friend watches on and the lady gets her work done. We laugh as the lady mentions oh so honestly that my upper lip needs some work as well. Geez. Ok. Wax away. All in all that was an interesting experience. The price, however for those two services, as everybody has mentioned is a little steep yet they do good work in my opinion. I really wanted to like this place, as it was recommended to me, but sadly that just wasn't the case. I called a week ago early in the morning and they said they could get me in for a gel manicure. Since I live so close, I went right away. The woman who helped me was pleasant towards me and asked me to pick a color. Of course that took forever as I was being pretty indecisive. As she was removing my old gel, I asked her to please not drill so much because I was trying very hard to regrow my natural nails. I had a horrid experience a few months back with a different place which absolutely destroyed my nails and I was really working on regrowing them. I had one nail where the gel was peeling and she ripped it off, ripping my natural nail off in the process. She then began drilling extensively after I asked her not to. Finally deciding on a color, based off the color on the bottle I liked.. she began applying it. It definitely wasn't like the bottle, but after a couple coats I said I was fine with it. I added white to my ring finger nail and she applied a glitter top coat. As the nails were drying, I noticed the white started to turn yellow. She told me, "when you add the gel top coat, it turns the white yellow"... okay.. that's never happened to me at other salons. And if you knew that it turned it yellow, why wouldn't you say something in the beginning?? I explained that I definitely didn't want a yellow nail and that I didn't have time to fix it then, and I'll come back later. I paid and left.. not feeling too happy. I came back later that evening and she removed the white (yellow) with more drilling. We had a hard time finding a new color, because she couldn't find the one that matched the sample plastic nail strip. I just wanted to get out of there so I went with something and just left. Long story short.. there may be other great people there, but the woman who helped me destroyed a lot of my natural nails. You can feel that they are bumpy and uneven (not the gel, the actual nail). Most of them are so thin that they're starting to bend. I'm very unhappy with my gel manicure and will never return to this salon. Got a mani/pedi here awhile back just because I was in the area. Just a standard one, nothing complicated. The girl that did my nails filed them uneven, then glopped polish on them that was full of bubbles and can best be described as "clumpy". She just kept smiling and saying "you like?". I ended up having to redo them myself when I got home. The owner called a younger boy out to do my pedicure...he didn't speak english, glared at me, and scrubbed my feet so hard he actually tore the skin off the side of my foot! He also clipped one of my toe cuticles, causing it to bleed. I was horrified. I also ended up with an infected toenail, (yes, fungal infection, GROSS) which I dealt with for a very long time. Looked around when I was done, and noticed it was not very clean...lots of nail dust, old looking polish, and their autoclave looked like something from the 1960's...don't know if it even worked. This was awhile ago, (actually after they opened) and I did file a complaint against them, and I was notified that action was being taken regarding concerns that were found there at the time. No idea what the outcome was though. It appears to be still the same owner...I went in one time after to see if anything had changed, it all looked the same to me. They do try to make conversation with you and give wonderful little massages when you get a mani and pedi. I always call before going because they can get very busy. I rarely do reviews but the service I received today was awesome and refreshing. I made a appointment over the phone for eyelashes. I'm new to the area and I've had bad experiences in Fairfield so far so I was VERY cautious with choosing this place. My appointment was at 6 and i didn't wait at all. Jasmine was so friendly and made chit chat the entire visit. She was very thorough with what she doing. She kept asking me if my eye were okay and if anything hurt (If you aren't familiar with false individual eyelashes then you wouldn't know that it hurts and stings if not done carefully) She let me see tHe process to make sure I was happy. After she was done with the lashes she even brushed them out with a clean mascara wand. Then coated them with a sealant which is rare. She told me if any fall out within the week I can come in and she'll fix them for free. Even gave me an extra wand to take home I was so pleased with Jasmine. Her work spoke for itself. Update! To top it off the cheap polish they used did last more then 3 days before it started peeling. By 1 week all the nails had chips and peels. Definitely never giving this place a second chance. I've heard so many great things about this place. From they way they do the nails to the brows. Since they are closer then my usual nail place I decided to give them a try. The service is good. They are nice and attentive. However, they manicure was probably the worst and most expensive I've ever gotten. I've got hangnails now and nail polish all over my fingers. On top of it she cut my nails as short as she could. I did say it was ok to cut them down but they're so short it hurts. I asked for French and got just a white stripe with a clear coat. They have lumps all over and the white line bleeds on a few of the nails. She asked if I like it and after looking at them I pointed out the bleeding and she simply said "it's too late sorry. That'll be $37.00." But hey lesson learned this place is a joke and I'd rather drive to Napa from Fairfield for a manicure that's 10x better. Just a suggestion for future customers don't ask them if they like your manicure only to say too late pay ne after they ask you to correct to bleeding lines and clean the excess polish. This was my 2nd and last time here due to their dishonesty in pricing. I came in for a fill, and gel color, the most I have ever paid for that at a regular nail salon has been $35.00. At this salon I paid 47.00, at first I thought the pricing included a pedicure as well, but once I asked for the pedi they told me they didn't have time (I had already paid), I too was in a hurry for an appointment so I left. I returned the following day and asked for a list of their services, and read that a fill, with gel color pricing was $37.00, when I asked why I had been charged 47.00 they said it was because of the color I chose. Mind you, whatever color it was it was still a gel color. I told her I was coming in to get a pedicure since they couldn't fit me in the day before but their prices where outrageous, and I wasn't keen on spending almost $100.00 on my nails... so as I walked out the lady who was working the front counter started to haggled with me and offered me a cheaper priced basic pedicure, it made up for the price difference. The thing is their prices are spa prices and this place is no spa, it's your regular down the street nail place. For the prices I was charged I would expect to be sitting in a white robe smelling essential oils as they use organic nail lacquers... this place is sooo not that. The technicians are nice, and they do an okay job... nothing worth the prices they charge... is rather make a drive to find a place where the pricing is fair and they do a better job. read more
