We took two police uniform top to her and one police coat. We needed two patches sewn on each shirt and the sides taken in on two shirts. The coat needed two patches also sewn on. Upon picking these up the next week, we were in nothing less of shock when she gave us a total of $353.00!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Nothing was itemized and to add insult she misplaced one of the patches. This person Kim is nothing short of an opportunist. She knew she was overpricing and taking advantage by far. We certainly would not have went to her had we knew she was going to take advantage of us. Her work is extremely overpriced, dishonest and sad. Go elsewhere, save yourself the anger of being taken advantage of. Never in all my life have I ever been charge this much for something so little!!!!!!!!! The top was ready on time , and for that reason only I have given one star. Service was lackluster at best. The lady behind the counter (I'm assuming that was Kim) was on a phone call when I came in and remained on the phone the entire time she was 'helping' me. The alteration did not match what she had pinned , and the alteration itself was poorly done. I tried this place because it is convenient, but I will not be going back. Do yourself a favor and make the drive to Blooming Sun in Jeffersontown. I have taken many things to them and the work has been excellent. After the experience at Kim's, Blooming Sun has my complete loyalty. read more

To say I experienced horrible service there is an understatement. I took my bridesmaids dress there for an alteration (take in and take up) and to replace one of the clips in my dress pants. The alteration of the dress was unreasonably priced and they mistakenly left a pin in the dress which I noticed as I was trying it on. As for the pants, the clip looked like it was replaced by a 5-year old. I will never use Kim's in the future. Lesson learned the hard and expensive way. read more

When I came to pick up my pants today, the woman behind the counter had to dig them out of a laundry basket sitting on the floor; they were wadded up with a bunch of other random clothes. They had been put through a washing machine and dryer, and are therefore now completed faded and ruined. I always line-dry these pants and I wish she would have asked me when I dropped them off if I wanted them washed. I would have certainly said no. Despite being washed they smelled awful, like a greasy restaurant kitchen. All I wanted was a hem fixed when it fell out of one leg, and now these pants are going to have to go in the trash. Buyer Beware!! Taking in and hemming a bridesmaid dress was $145,more than the dress itself. There was no itemized receipt for cost. Went based on others recommendations on dependable costs, but seems adding that the dress will be used in a wedding hiked the prices up. read more

Kim did an amazing job altering my bridesmaid dress. I'm from Louisville but live in Maryland now. I lost about 10 lbs and took my bridesmaid dress for my brothers wedding to my normal seamstress in Maryland to take in and she told me she could only do (and did) half the alterations I wanted with a months notice. So when I got into town a week before the wedding I took my dress to Kim's because I figured there must be a way to do the other half of alterations. Kim addressed what I needed before I even told her about it and had no issues taking that on. I was nervous considering my normal seamstress said it couldn't be done and trusting Kim, who I've never used or knew nothing about, to do it in a weeks time no less. She did an AMAZING job. Flawless. I even broke the clip on the dress when I was unhooking it to try on and she fixed it right there with no extra charge. She was a bit pricy (but cheaper than who I usually use!) but so worth it. Who am I to say how much something I cannot do costs?? Kim turned a dress I disliked into one of my favorites. read more

I'm a Brooks Brothers man, and I've been taking all of my alterations needs to Kim for the last seven years. She singlehandedly runs her own business, and her clientele include a great deal of east-end Louisville and Prospect. She consistently does impeccable work and is willing to get it done even in a pinch. Before I met Kim, I had been to four other highly-rated tailors in town, but Kim will always be my go-to tailor. A previous reviewer, JB, claims that his pants smelled like a restaurant after, as he states, being washed and dried against his wishes? Does that even make sense? Maybe JB's pants smelled because he works a restaurant and Kim felt compelled to wash them because they were stinking up everyone else's items in her shop. Either way, that is in no way representative of Kim's Tailors because, as I've said, she does excellent work, takes great care of all my items, and comes highly recommended by those who truly know her work. read more

Have brought alterations to her for a few years. Clothing always ready when promised and the alterations (hemming jeans, shortening sleeves, opening waistline etc.) have always been done to my satisfaction. Prices are reasonable, competitive. I don't think you will find anyone in town who is better. read more
