This is a very classy Thai restaurant. The interior set up is good for restaurant dating choice. We were there for a take out. We got the black pepper garlic squid with broccoli. I think the flavor is not much like I expected. Flavor is just so so. I also got the drunken noodles. I think this dish has a lot of liquid in compare to drier stir fry. Their food is what I can prepare myself. No taste of high BTU wok at all.

Checked out Fern Thai on a Monday evening after work! It wasn't too busy inside, and we were seated right away. The space is beautifully decorated with dim lighting, green and purplish hues, and a modern, cozy vibe. I heard this is their newer location in addition to their original one in Bellevue. - Satay Boran - Grilled marinated pork satay served with a thick, chunky peanut sauce, toast slices, and pickled cucumber. A solid start with great texture and flavor balance. - Pad See Ew with Beef - My go-to Thai dish. Wide noodles stir-fried with egg and tender beef; comforting, savory, and well-executed. - Duck Curry - Definitely a standout! Crispy yet tender duck in a rich red curry sauce, paired with lychee, pineapple, bell peppers, and basil. Generous portion and bold, layered flavors. Service was fast and friendly--they checked in with us regularly. The menu has all the Thai classics plus a few unique dishes like the duck curry that make it worth exploring. Ambience is relaxed and great for a date night or dinner with friends. Prices are pretty standard for Capitol Hill. Come for the good vibes and delicious Thai eats!

Mid-week bites means no crowds. We were visiting UW and met up with friends at Fern Thai. None of us have been here before so we relied on Yelp to guide us. We entered into what I felt was a really dark restaurant. Not from a decor standpoint but just dark and dimly lit. It was really hard to read the menu. Thankfully it's a pretty traditional Thai restaurant so ordering basic pad Thai was the order of the night. This was probably the fanciest pad Thai I've had. Presentation was great. Flavor was on point with pad Thai from my other go to spots. That being said, it was awfully expensive for a plate of noodles. That's where it lost a star for me. Put three orders of pad Thai and noodles, and it's a rare night out.

Location Capitol Hill neighborhood. Parking pay lot acouple blocks away. Beautiful restaurant & ambiance is chill & intimate. Friendly servers & really fast service. Best soup & crab Rangoon I've ever had in decades of eating Thai food. This was the highlight of my vacation. The soup was rich & spicy (3), filled with chicken, and fresh veggies. I wish I had more time in Seattle!! Best ever!!

Located in the heart of downtown and a short drive from the starbucks reserve, made this a desirable lunch spot for us. Loved the warm welcome and friendly service. Ample space, beautifully styled and clean premises adds to its lure. In $60 (before tip), we got: - lychee lemonade $7 - 3.5/5- the lychee flavor was not very strong and lemon was freshly squeezed. Light and refreshing drink. - ginger ale $5 - 1/5- it was too strong for my liking. I guess i have not tried their house made version of it and was expecting something like canada dry or Seagram. My bad! - garlic lovers - 5/5 - we added chicken and jasmine rice. So juicy and huge portion of meat and broccoli. Loved it!! - green curry chicken with jasmine rice- 5/5 - loved the portion size. The green curry was perfectly spiced and delectable. Must try!! Definitely recommended!! Ps - clean bathrooms :) and loved the baby proof special plate, spoon and forks

The service needed some help. It was dead inside maybe like 6 tables and 4 servers. We got sat in the farthest corner of the restaurant, no idea why... We ordered pork sautee it was good. Moist would get again. Then the duck curry which using lychee was a very nice concept made the sauce great. I ordered chicken Thai fried rice. When I say it tasted like something I could make at home I could. The chicken was so over cooked I left it. The rice was bland and even with soy sauce it had no flavor. But I ate it. The place is cute, apparently they have music at the weekend night. But idk. ‍ Not somewhere I would suggest.

Love this place. Cap hill location is right in the center of the city. Solid consistent food, attentive staff, and great atmosphere for a casual dinner with friends or a date night. We came on a Thursday night and they had live music as well. Recommend the pad Thai, drunken noodles, pad see ew, green curry, basil chicken, green papaya salad, fried tofu, and crab ragoons. Really you can't go wrong.

Food: Portion size vs price is very reasonable. Thai spicy is different than normal spicy. I'd go with level 1 or 2. Got a Pad See Ewe but got a level 3 thinking I can take it. In fact, it was very spicy. I really like the flavor but it was ultimately too spicy. Duck curry was flavorful and the duck was crispy. It comes with some apple slices, lychee, and pineapple. My family also got the crispy garlic ck. I didn't try it but I know my family loves it and went back for the same dish. Service: Their customer service is prompt and friendly, with staff members providing attentive care to diners. I went with a big group but they were still able to check in on all of us. Ambiance: The interior is beautifully decorated, spacious, and inviting, with a cozy and modern atmosphere that enhances the dining experience. Lights are a bit dim so I think it's great for date night.

Very Good, Very Yummy & Very Coming Back To This Place! The Food Is 101% delicious. I bet you could close your eyes and point to an item AND it would taste as good as the next dish. Challenge Accepted! I will be coming back and doing just that. The Service Was Really Good. Our Server made it a point to make sure our food tasted to par. And he came back again to ensure drinks were at a healthy level. You can't beat the dining room. Everything is well decorated and nicely thought through.

Good food, quick and friendly service, clean and casual ambiance. We visited them for dinner and all parties were happy from their order. The favors are good and portion size is generous. The dessert options are limited but unique, mostly crepe-cake slices. If you are nearby, this is a good spot to enjoy some Thai flavors.

My friend raved about this place for a while and we decided to go and see what all the hype was about. The interior of this place is really cool and there's a nice vibe to it that's perfect for a date night or a time with friends. The Chiang Mai & E-San sausages were flavorful and paired nicely with the peanuts and greens. The Panang chicken was creamy, coconut-forward, and comforting. Overall, the food was tasty with thoughtful presentation for each dish. Our server was nice and efficient with ordering and getting our food to us. My Thai friend that was with me said it tasted great and authentic too!

I stopped by Fern Thai on Capitol Hill late at night, and it was such a good find. The ambiance was super cute and cozy. I love that they're open late. I ordered the Thai fried rice and curry and both were flavorful and satisfying. The portions were generous and everything tasted fresh. I also had a Thai iced tea which was perfect. I'd definitely come back here again.

I literally eat here once a week lol that Thai fried rice is very very good and tasty. I didn't like the gin and tonic and they exchanged it for me. The customer service is good and the ambiance is dark and sexy. I love it there!

The space is elegant, unique, and lives up to the photos. I also want to recognize the manager, who was polite, professional, and kindly explained that reservations were required. I completely understand and respect that policy. Unfortunately, my interaction with the bartender before speaking with the manager was the complete opposite. As I tried to get her attention, I felt like she repeatedly looked at me with annoyance and made me feel unwelcome. Rather than simply explaining the reservation policy herself, she went to get the manager instead. She had a problem with Hispanics. She refused to engaged at all. The way I was treated left me feeling uncomfortable and embarrassed, especially as someone who was genuinely excited to visit. A beautiful venue can only go so far when the hospitality doesn't match. I would have happily accepted that reservations were required if I had simply been treated with basic kindness and respect from the start. I truly hope this was an isolated incident because the location itself is stunning, and the manager handled the situation professionally. Unfortunately, because of my interaction with the bartender I've added in the photos, I don't see myself returning. Sadly they have a Prejudice bartender.

We started off with a salad, spicy mac n cheese, cheese sticks, and Brie and cheese. Salad was light and refreshing. The cheese sticks were pretty normal, but also good. The spicy mac n cheese to me had zero spice. Just some mac in a cast iron pan. The apple and Brie had a nice presentation but the smallest amount of Brie possible(my picture was too blurry to post). The Broccolini I am not sure how it was defined as broccolini because the 5 pieces that came on the plate were huge. Instagram : @yeapeats…read more I was excited to try Needle & Thread since it's often described as a speakeasy, but the "hidden" aspect didn't quite live up to expectations. Unlike other speakeasies that feel truly hidden, you actually just walk into Tavern Law, check in with the hostess, and let them know you have a reservation. They then guide you to a telephone where you repeat your reservation name before being let upstairs. It's a fun concept, but not especially secretive, and they're pretty strict about not letting you up early unless it's very empty. Once seated, we actually waited almost 20 minutes before being served with no acknowledgement. We ended up having to flag down the manager just to bring attention to our table, which was disappointing given the experience they're aiming for. The waitress asks a series of questions about your preferences--likes, dislikes, and flavor inspirations--so the bartenders can create custom cocktails for you. If you're knowledgeable about alcohol, this is probably a dream. If you're not (like me), it can feel a little intimidating, but our waitress was patient and did her best to guide us through it. The drinks themselves were excellent. Even the shots were customized, which was a nice touch. The vibe upstairs is chill and relatively quiet, making it a great place to relax and talk. Food is the same menu as downstairs at Tavern Law, so nothing new there. The only downside--and unfortunately a noticeable one--was an interaction with the female bartender (not our waitress). Based on the questions we were asked, my friend gave a mix of savory and sweet preferences, since we were told these were just inspirations. However, the female bartender came over sounding visibly annoyed and said, "So do you want savory or sweet? You're giving contradicting answers." The tone felt unnecessarily rude, especially since we were just following the process as it was explained to us. Overall, the drinks were great and the concept is unique, but between the delayed service and that negative interaction, it definitely put a damper on the experience.
