The way the house is situated lets light in beautifully during the morning, and paired with the wood-heavy interior, the atmosphere is very inviting. The wood aesthetic throughout the space is beautifully done and makes the restaurant feel calm and comfortable. The food is delicious. I ordered the tom yum soup and Thai fried rice, and both really hit the spot--flavorful, comforting, and well-balanced. You can tell care goes into the preparation. Service was another highlight. Our server was very attentive without being overbearing, which made the experience even better. I had been looking forward to trying this restaurant for a long time because of its strong Yelp reviews. Unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. The service was slow from start to finish. We waited quite a while to place our order and then waited a long time for our drinks. When my meal finally arrived, it was made incorrectly. I ordered a vegetarian dish with tofu and vegetables, but it came out with chicken. While the staff did apologize and remake it, my friends were already halfway through their meals by the time my replacement arrived, leaving me sitting there watching everyone else eat. To make matters worse, my dish was ordered at a level 2 spice, yet it burned my tongue and throat. I even mentioned this to the server. Throughout the meal, service remained inattentive. We had trouble getting assistance when we needed something, including the check. Eventually, we had to walk to the front to pay ourselves. Our table was never cleared, and overall the service felt unorganized and poorly managed. It's a beautiful exterior with a quick upstairs to the entrance. Nice cozy interior with a dim atmosphere. The service was easy since the dinner rush was slow. I got the mango lemonade, and it was refreshing and tangy. It was $7 tho... they don't have prices for their drink menu. For appetizers, we got the calamari and the tom yum pizza. The calamari was underseasoned but the lime and dipping sauce made it better. The tom yum pizza was amazing! Wished it had more meat on it. But great flavors of acidity, spice, and tang which made it like tom yum. I got the kua gai noodle and I was happy with the portion size, mixtures of meat, and texture of noodles. I visited this restaurant with a friend last Sunday and ordered a Thai-style basil dish with ground pork. I haven't eaten out in a while, and was surprised to see that the rice would be an additional cost. In hindsight, I should have gotten the rice with this dish, but I personally couldn't justify paying $3 for a side of rice, and I also assumed there would be a carb included with the dish ( though looking at the menu again, no carb is stated). This Thai Basil dish was delicious and very flavorful. The portion looked small at first, but the bowl was deeper than expected. I ate half and took the rest to eat at home (with home-cooked rice). The dish was also spicier than I expected for a level 3 out of 5. I realize it is hard to describe spicy levels since they are subjective. My friend had asked the server regarding the spiciness, and they described the spice level as a mix between American and Asian(? if I could remember correctly). I assumed then that the food would be milder, so the spiciness was a surprise. Maybe my spice tolerance is lower than I thought, haha! I'd personally prefer more specific details about the food I would order or a recommended spice level. For example, I'd prefer that the rice be included in dishes like Thai Style Basil rather than as an extra side, and as a first-time customer, it would be nice to get a brief overview of the menu and recommended dishes. The restaurant was mostly empty when my friend and I came, so extra care/attention would be appreciated. Of course, these are questions I could have brought up with my server, so I realize it is also my responsibility to get more clarity. Overall, the service was ok, the ambiance was good, and the food was tasty, but a little overpriced for my liking. If I come here again, I'd be open to trying something different, like the tom yum pizza. I first want to mention for those who may be otherly-abled, that the entrance is up a flight of stairs. I'm not sure if they open the downstairs for entry at all but it does appear they have limited patio seating downstairs. Now, people always want to know how expensive it is. It's expensive. Everything, everywhere is expensive these days. Gone are the days when Pad See Ew was $5.95, maybe $6.95 with prawns. The dishes probably average $18.95 each. But well worth it. This is some of the most delicious thai food I've tasted in Seattle and Seattle is not lacking in Thai restaurants. Sisi Kay is now my favorite. We had two delicious cocktails. The Ginger Martini is so refreshing and the Lychee Mai Tai was exceptional and well-alcohol'd. This restaurant is located near the University of Washington campus off of N. 45th St. They are one block away from the QFC grocery store. The storefront has very limited metered parking spots, so we had to drive around the neighborhood behind the restaurant to secure parking. Their main dining area is located on the second floor, accessible through an outdoor staircase. Once inside, we were seated promptly. However, service was lacking since we never saw our waiter again after receiving our food. The food itself was awful. I tried the Beef Kee Mao, and it was so salty that both my friend and I could not eat any more of it after two bites even though we were ravenous. The beef was also so dried up that it tasted like beef jerky. I do not recommend eating at this restaurant. read more

I've passed by Sisi Kay so many times during my trips to Wallingford and have always wanted to try it out. It's safe to say that I was quite satisfied! My boyfriend and I ordered the Thai Iced Tea, Crispy Garlic Chicken (level 2 spice), and the Pad Thai Boran (with chicken, level 2 spice). The Thai tea was super refreshing and I liked how it wasn't overbearingly sweet. The Garlic Chicken was really crispy and covered in a delicious sweet + savory sauce, but was a bit dry on the inside unfortunately. It also wasn't spicy at all in our opinion, so if you're a fan of spice then go up a level! The Pad Thai was solid and definitely my favorite item from our meal. The spice was much more evident and the portion is very generous! I love the presentation and the veggies it comes with as well. The interior was very cozy and service was great (they were on top of making sure we had enough water haha). Amazing Thai spot in a cute and rustic little house. The interior was well decorated and made me feel like I'm in a modern traditional spot in Thailand. Made reservations for 12pm on Sunday with us being the only people there besides one table so plenty of seats. We got the Tom yum pizza and wow it was amazing. Thin, crispy, savory and tasted like the two combined perfectly. They elevated the dish in a way where it was more than just slapping tom yum ingredients on a normal pizza. We also got the Thai basil beef and the golden noodle with chicken. Both were amazing as well with the golden noodle being so creamy and savory from the curry spices. The noodles were just a bit over cooked and soft but didn't take away from how delicious it was. The drinks were great as well. We went with Pad Thai, Pad See Ew, Crispy Cashew Chicken, and the Golden Curry to share, and each dish was absolutely delicious. The Crispy Cashew Chicken was the unanimous favorite, it was perfectly crunchy with the right amount of spice, and a super flavorful sauce. They have a ton of super cute Christmas decorations up right now but the space itself is really cool, I think it was originally a house and they've done a great job with creating a comfortable space. Food and drinks came out very fast and the two people who served us were very sweet and attentive. Drinks were DELICIOUS, I would personally recommend the mai tai. The 3 star spice on the pad khee mao was perfect, sometimes 3 doesn't mean spicy at all, but this had good (but not too much) heat. We hosted my MIL's 70th birthday party at Sisi Kay and it was a fantastic experience! I could not have been more impressed by the expertise and professionalism of the staff- from Anthony who guided us on menu planning and logistics, to Diana (our server) who effortlessly met the needs of all of our guests AND saved the day with her decorating skills, to Darko (our bartender) who kept the drinks and positive vibes flowing all evening. I did not think it would be possible to put together dinner and cocktails for forty+ people in a short (seven day) timeframe, but with the incredible team at SSK it was not only possible but fun. The restaurant has a cozy, laid back-but-polished vibe. The food is good- my only regret is not ordering a second tray of salmon- and the drinks are fantastic.
