I ordered takeaway for dinner. The place I wanted to order from was closed, so I got takeout from Kin Wah Chop Suey. They have been at their Kamehameha Highway location for 43 years...must be doing something right. Decor looks straight from the 80's too...dated but nice..."Back to the Future." When I visit a Chinese restaurant I often will get something on special or a duck entrée. Requested Roast Duck with Hoisin sauce for takeaway; I received it in the 10 minutes I was told. It was excellent and a decent portion for $18. Hours are 1000a till 830p daily, except on Mondays - when they are closed. Lots of parking stalls in front...a beauty salon is in the adjacent unit. Aloha Gas is nearby.

Delish! We live on the East Side of Oahu, don't travel much to the Windward side. We decided to try Kin Wah Chop Suey after passing it several times while driving thru Kaneohe. We tried the Egg Foo Yung, Orange Chicken, Crispy Spring Rolls, Spicy Won Tons and a Lunch Special with Beef & Broccoli. Everything was fresh and delicious. The staff were friendly and inviting. Beautiful spacious, clean dining room. We will be back. Mahalo

Update : Had a dinner party for 10, New great granddaughter for 98 yr old mom. Standout dishes , Peking Duck w/ buns, love the shrimp chips as a garnish. Walnut shrimp, flavored just right.minute chicken, cake noodle, love the way they are prepared, crispy bite size pieces. Bird nest soup, perfect starter. The best is their customer service, Jason was our main server. Lisa, Jimmy & Mrs. always insure we are satisfied & taken care of! Thank you very much!Love other dishes too. Can't go wrong @ Kin Wah!

While the food isn't the best, the service and vibe are on point. They honestly have delicious fortune cookies. I would say that is their best thing. It is one of those nostalgic restaurants where you go and see people you know, talk story, and relax. Nothing really bad about this place for what it is.

First time here and it was a great experience. We were seated very quickly. We ordered the crispy chicken and the black bean beef chow fun, and both were excellent. The food reminded me of going to the Chinese restaurants back in the day with my parents when I was a child--comforting and nostalgic in the best way. The chicken dish almost tasted like duck: the skin was perfectly crispy and the meat was moist and flavorful. I would definitely return if I'm back on the Windward side.

Service: It was Christmas Day lunch so Kin Wah had tons of take out orders. But they were still friendly and helpful the entire time we were there. The servers here smile and are friendly. We did have a pre-order issue, though. Since I arrived early to make sure everything was set, it was an easy recovery but still disappointing. One pre-order dish was egg fu yong. While the server was reviewing the order with me, she said they didn't have it that day. I told her I wasn't notified when I pre-ordered like I was told "no steamed fish" but I just increased the quantities for the other items and it was seamless for the rest of the guests. She did say but I ordered early enough to get my Peking duck. (If we didn't get that I would have them been pretty annoyed.) Food: Not quite as good as last Christmas but still good. Minute chicken cake noodle - chicken was a bit dry and a little tough. Noodles, gravy, Choi sum was good. Soft gau gee mein (family loves our noodles) was better - very tasty, but the gravy was overflowing and spilling all over. Peking duck - half duck, with buns. Came with the customary plum (hoisin) sauce but no green onions/scallions. Not the same without it but was good. Duck skin was crispy, duck meat wasn't dry. Shrimp chips were stale, though. Walnut shrimp was good. Shrimp was slightly overcooked but not enough to matter. Beef broccoli was very good, but not sure they gave us two orders, seemed small compared to the other dishes which we had upped from 1-1/2 to 2. Overall, it's challenging to get good Chinese food now days so we were all satisfied with the food, good service, and the ease of having the dishes come out timely. Hopefully the next time the food will have gone back up in quality and I can give 4 stars.

An old school Chinese restaurant serving great Chinese comfort food! That just about sums up this restaurant in Kaneohe. I think it's time for an update, as it's been awhile since I last dined at Kin Wah Chop Suey.. So my dad had some friends visiting from out of town, so one evening I decided to take them out to the Windward side for some old school Chinese comfort food. The menu here is pretty extensive, but to make it easy on ourselves, we decided to pick a fixed dinner menu for 4 people, then I just added two extra dishes with our fixed meal. For just under $120 bucks, we got the following - Scallop Soup Kin Wah Chow Mein Roast Duck Sweet & Sour Pork Beef Broccoli Chicken w/Cashew Nut & Vegetables Steamed Fish Filet Honey Walnut Shrimp Steamed Rice The restaurant décor has seen better days, but I must say that the food was tasty, and service was quick and on point. Parking can be rough during the peak hours, as the parking lot is shared by other eatery businesses. If you're ever in the Windward side, and craving Chinese food, give Kin Wah Chop Suey a try!

Ordered one of their specials to go. Got their e-mein noodles with duck and choy sum. This was yummy and generous portion!

I called a take out order on a Sunday at lunchtime they said it would be about 15 to 20 minutes. We got there in 10 minutes and the food was just coming out. We took everything home back to Honolulu to eat. My favorite dish is their Chinese chicken salad because it is the red peanut dressing that makes it so unique to other Chinese chicken salads on the island. I'm not a fan of the chicken because it comes chopped up with skin on, but I'm able to pick out most of the skin pieces. The minute chicken cake noodles are always delicious with the fried chow mein noodles. We had a lot of other stuff, but those are the two main dishes that I like to eat. I will sometimes dry the butter melon with pork, but for the most part that is reserved for my husband and my father. If you plan to stay and eat, make sure you bring a smaller size vehicle because the parking lot is very small and limited unless you want to park out on the street.

Great tasting and great price! Beef oyster sauce chow fun is saucy and flavorful. I love the water chestnuts they add. Other dishes are all great too. Taro duck is a must have! Their steamed fish is also delicious. The side of rice is a hit or miss sometimes a little too hard.

I've been eating here for decades, I absolutely love it. They have some great Monday-Friday lunch specials. I especially like the crispy chicken/ char siu. I get it over cake noodles. I always order shrimp canton and crispy gau gee too. I have a video of my meal on my Island Jenny YouTube channel.

Decided to come here while we wait for our girl finish prom. We walked in at 730 (they close at 830) it was SUPER BUSY, but we were seated within 5 mins on the very last open table in the whole restaurant. They took our order immediately and our food came out so quick and tasted so fresh. We brought my sister and BIL as they never tried this place out and we like their food. Really there wasnt anything wrong with any of our food we ordered and everyone in our group enjoyed it. Here is what we ordered: Kau yuk: this was a little tough, but still so good Bao buns cake noodle gau gee char siu fuyoung orange chicken fried rice chicken egg plant (THIS WAS DELICIOUS) Customer Service was AMAZING. These workers here have a system and it works for them and for us as customers. If you're in Kaneohe and wanting Chinese, I highly recommend coming here :))

I'm born and raised in Kaneohe so kin wah was always the go to spot for my entire family! After I got married it became my wife's favorite and my mother in law's as well. Wife and I was having her car serviced so kin wah is close by so we walked over and had brunch! Food is always so tasty and fresh. Service is always fast and friendly, place is clean and comfortable.

From the outside, it looks like any ol' storefront, but when you walk in, you have the counters where you can order for takeout, and to the left, you have tables for dining in. Sadly, they don't have the ladies pushing the dim sum carts around, but the service was fast! My husband and I ordered the typical dim sum items- shumai, har gow, rice rolls, wonton noodle soup, taro cake, and every table was gifted egg tarts! To our surprise, everything was made fresh and came out hot- the shrimps in the rice rolls and har gow were huge, and the shumai was about a little bigger than golf balls! My husband's eyes were huge when he saw them, and his immediate words were "omg, did we get a double order or is this one order?!" The shumai and har gow were nice and juicy when you bite into them, and the wontons were definitely made in-house by someone in the back. When you make a lot of wontons, you know that look that shows it was handmade! The rice rolls were delicious with the sweet soy sauce, the wonton noodle soup was delicious, and the taro cake reminded me of how my grandma used to make them. All in all, this is going to be a spot we visit again, and before heading out to the beach. So delicious, so fresh and just hits the spot!
