This place is the real deal! Doing an update as I haven't been back for a while! Today 1/20/26, went to pickup early lunch. glad to see they were open at 9:30 am. The gal working the front was so nice, & welcoming, serving takeout & guest eating in. Ordered Beef chow fun, pork hash & Baked charsui buns. The buns weren't made yet & would take 25 mins. Cancelled that order. While waiting I noticed how efficient & friendly to all guest this staff member young lady was! Also, the gal working the kitchen was bringing out the newly made food, working together with the front gal to have everything run so smooth. Kudo's to both of them for a job that usually goes unnoticed! Took home the food & it was excellent! The restaurant is clean & well kept!

I've eaten dim sum my whole life and the dim sum here is legit. You wouldn't think that though by standing outside the door and looking in. It doesn't look like a traditional dim sum spot. They have seating on one side of the restaurant, but it's more of a take out place. The prices are kind of high, especially for a place that's geared toward takeout. I guess it's the going rate and you can't find dim sum anywhere else in Kaneohe. I got the red bean jin dui $6.00, shrimp dumpling $6.50 and black bean spareribs $6.50. The spare ribs and shrimp dumplings were outstanding. It was the best shrimp dumplings that I've had in a while. It was huge and stuffed with all shrimp. The wrapping was thin and transparent. Get the shrimp dumplings! The jin dui was just ok for me. It was still hot when I got them and they weren't deflated. However, something about the mochi tasted off. The mochi was rather thick and it had a soft crunch to it. I like mine super crispy. They also let you graffiti on the walls of their restaurant. The lady handed me a gold marker and I wrote our names on it and the date that we were there.

Apparently they have 2 other locations in Kapiolani and Alakea

Ok.... I see you Dim Sim station. You got a repeat customer. I had been craving manapua all day and was looking for the local style huge manapua kine place. I wasn't too jazzed about going to a "authentic dim sum" place but it was 5:20 pm after work on a Thursday and unsuited my manapua then go home. I'm so glad I stopped in here! I ordered: 2 orders of baked char Siu bao( the kine with a sweet crust) 1 order steamed bao 1 order Siu mau aka pork hash 1 order fried taro Fried rice Honey walnut shrimp. All of this came out to $65 and change. The cashier gave me a free order of steamed shrimp dumpling and while I was waiting for my food, she gave me the last baked bao!!! I ate that right then and there... it was delicious! The walnut shrimp and fried rice was a HUGE portion! The only thing that was meh... was the fried taro that could've used more salt and if you don't eat this type of dim sum fresh and hot, it will be soggy and yes it was. This place is bright and clean, super modern and have seats inside. I will be back

We ordered cake noodles so not sure if this is it but had good flavor

What a pleasant surprise to find a dim sum restaurant in Kaneohe! I thought it was a take out place but they serve fresh, made to order dim sum. Not sure if it was because we got there when the place was still empty, so all our orders were piping hot and made fresh, but it was so good to eat super hot. Service was good until it got busy, then little slower because there was only one lady working. She's great but it was hard work to cover the take out and restaurant side. I love that they keep the red vinegar and mustard on the table so you can eat all you want (without wasting). Size of the dim sum pieces were great! Not tiny pieces, which made the cost much more bearable. Cost is pricey. Dim sum is over $6, but guess that's the going rate now. Noodles are close to $20! The only sad thing was I ordered cake noodle but it came as crispy noodles, not the tight squares. So not sure if was ordered/Inputted incorrectly or they dont make the local cake noodles. Flavor good though. At first I was hesitant to try this place because this is an affiliate of Kapiolani Dim Sum restaurant, which i dont care for no matter how many times ive tried. But im so happy we ate here because ill definitely be back. Fresh and big size dim sum is delicious!

In the owner's own words (video interview aired on KHON2 Food 2GO segment, July 1, 2024); "The concept is an express style, where you can sit down, eat or take it fresh to go". "...we wanted to do it fresh and we steam it when you order it". OUTSTANDING! But it's not true. Everything taste previously frozen, improperly thawed, and in some cases, stored thawed too long having spoiled. -- Steamed BBQ pork buns - Freezer burned bread. -- Shrimp dumplings - ammoniated shrimp. -- Siu mai - Stinking, spoiled crab eggs. -- Chicken feet - Week sauce and odd skin texture as if frozen hot, ice formed breaking cellular membranes then it was thawed during re-heat. -- Bean curd roll w/ pork - Oxidized garlic in the accompanying sauce that was so overpowering. The only decent item, the abalone sticky rice. Very flavorful with chicken, pork and lap cheong but no abalone. To add insult, prices are HIGHER than their sister eatery, Kapiolani Seafood Restaurant. Someone has to pay for the ton of plastic containers they use. Lesson learned. Want good dim sum? Go to Chinatown where eateries are always busy and the dim sum always fresh because the Chinese customers won't pay for anything less.

Har gao, char siu su, seafood bean curd roll, mochi puff with pork

My mom's friend says this place is the best which is why I came here. I like that it's an order at the counter type of place which is much quicker than waiting for carts to come around. There are a handful of tables to eat inside but we took our order to eat at home. We ordered har gao, mochi puff with pork, char siu su, and seafood bean curd roll. My mom really liked the har gao, The shrimp was large and had a good shrimp flavor but I thought the shrimp was overcooked and the wrapper too thick. I liked the crust on the char siu su but I wish the filling was more flavorful and had a better texture. I was surprised that the seafood bean curd roll was deep fried. The taste was good but I'm used to them being steamed. The mochi puff with pork was ok. I wish it was crispier but maybe it's because we waited till we got home to eat it. Over all it will get rid of any dim sum cravings but it doesn't compete with the sit down dim sum places in town.

All the goods. Small sit down area on the side.

It's been a while since I've stopped in here.... Usually go to the town locations. Honolulu and Kapiolani Seafood. But was on the windward side and had a dim sum craving. Sadly they no longer offer any dim sum bentos.... But they have a current special, buy 30 dollars worth of dim sum get one from a list of choices free. I chose siu mai.... Convenient if you're in Kaneohe. ; stars because they no longer get have dim sum bentos which gave you a little bit of everything if you're dining solo and don't want to buy a whole bunch ch of plates..

Bento selection. Great deal and lots of food! It comes with a canned drink of your choice.
    Johanna T.

It's so nice to get quality and freshly-made dim sum on the Windward side. The generally $6.50 per plate price is worth not having to drive to Chinatown. I have eaten at the location, which has a nice side seating area that is clean and well-maintained. I usually take-out my orders. A great deal is the $13.50 bentos that contains portions for one person. It comes with a canned drink of your choice. I haven't been able to finish the hearty portions in one sitting! Their take out bags are really cute, but I've got so many of them at home already. They appreciated that I brought my own.

Looking for a place to eat after an excursion in Byodo-In Temple, I Yelped Kaneohe Dim Sum Station. I was kinna surprised that this dim sum is not the traditional dim sum in carts and laid on your lazy susan table. But rather, it is a fast food type of dim sum. I commend them though as they sent dim sum to are table in a fairly quick manner, despite our 9 person party. Shumai and Har Gow were okay. Dad enjoyed his chicken feet. We had some entrees such as Honey Walnut Shrimp, Steamed Chicken and they were good. I also had my fave Deep Fried Shrimp Ball the the taste was off. They were quick to recover and offered us some custard for dessert on the house. Overall, we were satisfied with Kaneohe Dim Sum Station.

When I found out this was opening, I thought it was great because my parents live in Kaneohe and currently do not like traveling far. Parking can be a bit of a challenge, especially for the elderly, but I dropped off my parents in this loading zone, and parked. Friendly hello when I walked in. We looked over the menu, and one of the workers gave us some post-its and a pen. You order at the counter and they will keep your check open. We ordered the usual: bbq pork bao, shu mai, chive and chicken dumplings, har gao, beef chow funn, and custard tarts. Everything was decent. My parents are old school Chinese, and they weren't thrilled. They also thought the fried dumplings were greasy. We agreed that the custard tarts were really good! I thought everything tasted pretty good, and especially if you don't have to drive over the hill. But I'm not sold on it. It just seems so impersonal without those carts and eating off paper plates. It's a nice dining room and good AC. I'm going to say 3.5 rounded up. Things could change so I'll be back!

About $150 for all of these delicious treasures :)

The servers here smile and are friendly. We did have a pre-order issue, though. Since I arrived early to make sure everything was set, it was an easy recovery but still disappointing. One pre-order dish was egg fu yong. While the server was reviewing the order with me, she said they didn't have it that day. I told her I wasn't notified when I pre-ordered like I was told "no steamed fish" but I just increased the quantities for the other items and it was seamless for the rest of the guests. She did say but I ordered early enough to get my Peking duck. (If we didn't get that I would have them been pretty annoyed.) Food: Not quite as good as last Christmas but still good. Minute chicken cake noodle - chicken was a bit dry and a little tough. Noodles, gravy, Choi sum was good. Soft gau gee mein (family loves our noodles) was better - very tasty, but the gravy was overflowing and spilling all over. Peking duck - half duck, with buns. Came with the customary plum (hoisin) sauce but no green onions/scallions. Not the same without it but was good. Duck skin was crispy, duck meat wasn't dry. Shrimp chips were stale, though. Walnut shrimp was good. Shrimp was slightly overcooked but not enough to matter. Beef broccoli was very good, but not sure they gave us two orders, seemed small compared to the other dishes which we had upped from 1-1/2 to 2. Overall, it's challenging to get good Chinese food now days so we were all satisfied with the food, good service, and the ease of having the dishes come out timely. Hopefully the next time the food will have gone back up in quality and I can give 4 stars.

Hawaii Dim Sum & Seafood Restaurant replaced Golden Palace Restaurant in Chinatown on March 2023…read more The restaurant is known for large portions of authentic and popular dim sum and seafood dishes. Owner Kun Hang Liang and wife Karen Tam immigrated to HI many years ago and have always dreamt of owning their own restaurant, which is now this restaurant. The restaurant's offerings are extensive. They include: * Dim sum: custard tart, mochi ball/puff, fried taro, dumplings, siu mai, chicken feet, spare ribs, pork buns, turnip cake, seafood bean curd, mochi rice, look fun, soups. * Chef's specials: lotus root stuffed w/ shrmp, bbq roasted pork rib, slow-simmered soup, braised oxtail, calamari, whole chickens/ducks. * Appetizer: jellyfish, spring roll, gau gee, fried shrimp ball. * BBQ roast: duck, char siu, chicken. * Soup: seafood, hot sour, chicken, beef, egg drop, won ton, pumpkin. * Sichuan: shrimp, beef, fish, chicken, pork, ma po tofu. * Seafood: lobster, crab, fish, shrimp, clams, calamari, scallops. * Salt & pepper: calamari, shrimp, pork chop, tofu, chicken wings. * Meat: beef, pork, chicken. * Sizzling casserole: lamb/beef stew, seafood w/ tofu, prawns & vermicelli, kau yuk. * Sizzling platter: beef tenderloin, oysters, stuffed eggplant. * Tofu/egg: steam egg custard/tofu, egg w/ bittermelon, egg fu yung. * Veggies: mushrooms w/ veggies, broccoli w/ dried flounder, green beans, ong choy, choy sum, spinach, lotus root. * Starch: fried rice, chow mein, noodles in soup, chow fun, rice noodles. With the extensive menu offerings, there are some items that outshine others, which are to be expected. We ordered the following: * Siu mai. Enjoyed the large siu mai, which the dense pork was mixed with mushrooms and water chestnuts (no shrimp). It was tasty and flavorful. * Jin dui. Loved the large thin-crusted coconut/peanut jin dui, just how my mom used to make them! Most restaurants don't "roll" them enough to get that thin crust, but here, they make it right! * Sticky rice in lotus leaf. Chunks of lup cheong and whole salted egg yolks with mochi rice make this a winner! * Char siu look fun. This is one of my favorite dishes; however, it was not prepared well. Generous chunks of hardened and seemingly old char siu filled the look fun, making it difficult to eat and with a lack of tender flavored char siu. Loved that the sweet sauce is served separately in a squeeze bottle so that you can use as much as you want. * Dong Po Pork. This Hangzhou dish is pork belly braised in soy sauce, Shaoxiang wine, and rock sugar until it's tender and melts in your mouth. The pork bell is tied with a string to hold its shape, and staff will use a scissors to remove it. This dish is savory, sweet and has a rich caramelization; served with broccoli to balance the richness of the sauce. Eaten with rice, I really enjoyed this dish! Well plated and executed! Portions are generous, but price point may be contentious, as some dishes appear to be over-priced, like the char siu look fun. We arrived mid-morning on a weekday, and it was not very crowded. Staff was very friendly, attentive, and bilingual, which made communication easy. Service was quick and efficient. No moving carts, as you're given a sheet of listed dim sum to check off the ones you want to order. The large interior is spacious and clean. Its banquet hall can hold a max of 30+ tables for a private party. There are also smaller private rooms. Extensive renovations were made after the previous restaurant closed. Hours of operation are Thurs to Tues 8a to 9p and Wed 8a to 3p. Regular entrees are not prepared until 10a when the cooks arrive for work. Private parking available in back of the restaurant, municipal parking lots are nearby, and metered street parking are available. Extensive delicious menu offerings, generous portions, and efficient and friendly customer service will likely result in return visits to try other items on the menu. We wish the Liangs continued success with their restaurant! Support local!

What surprised me right off were the prices. I know things are rough for businesses and price hikes are necessary for the bottom line but $5.95/ $7.35 for dim sum? If you want steamed look fun, it'll cost you $10-11. Yikes! Our usual dim sum place is about $1-3 less. But to be fair, the size of the dimsum is huge. The chicken feet we had was sooo plump and the other dim sum looked like overstuffed balls. So okay, maybe the price is fair? Each plate came with 3. It wasn't too sweet and it wasn't too sour, just right down the middle. The ginger onion sauce was chefs kiss. I just wish they gave me two containers as one wasn't enough for all that chicken. This place was definitely a great deal and the food was good. I can understand why there's always a line.

The parking lot is right next door. The servers here are also very friendly and courteous....not the norm for a lot of Chinese restaurants. I mean, they're really really nice! If you want good dim sum, this is where you have to go! The atmosphere is nice, service is great and food is delicious!

Better late than never, but come too late and missed out on the good stuff?…read more Honolulu Seafood Restaurant is a sister restaurant to Kapiolani Seafood Restaurant. Located in Downtown in the same space where Yong Sing, Mandalay, and the short-lived Bourbon Street used to be. Inside feels and looks essentially the same as the prior restaurants. Huge, open, two levels. Would you believe there was once a time where the second floor was an option to sit because it was just that busy? Hours is basically 10am everyday till 3pm, then 5-930pm. Seems like the hours are geared towards Downtown workers. Where to park? 8am-5pm, Monday-Friday, park in the Ali'i Place Parking garage. Entrance is right past the restaurant. Only 75 cents per half hour and restaurant validates one dollar. After 5pm on weekdays, and 8-1am on weekends, park at Bishop Square Parking. Entrance is across from the restaurant, entrance from the left lane of Alakea. Cost is $1.50 with validation. The regular menu is exactly the same as Kapiolani Seafood Restaurant. However, the dim sum is not the case. It's much, much less. There's only 16 total, and 7 more on weekends only. It's essentially the bare basics (but no beef ball!). All the dim sum looks exactly the same as Kapiolani Seafood Restaurant, but everything was on the bland side and just felt like it was missing something. Steamed Spareribs was one note and meat was not as tender. Beef Look Funn was good. The look funn had perfect thinness and texture. If have this dish, how come cannot have steamed beef balls? Chicken Feet was good. Soft, tasty, and meaty. But just ate and felt one note. Pan Fried Shrimp and Chives Dumplings was pretty good. Pan fried very well. Generous amount of filling. Just on the bland side. Chicken Sticky Rice in Lotus Leaf was pretty good! Soft, moist mochi rice with a good amount of tasty filling. The Bean Curd Roll with Pork was probably the most flavorful dim sum of the meal. Jam-packed with tasty and flavorful filling. Overall, the dim sum was decent and almost similar to Kapiolani Seafood, but it was a touch on the bland side and a slight step below. Service was good. Friendly and attentive. Food came out pretty quick. Inside was cool, spacious, and comfortable. I want to come back on my lunch break! I don't mind dim sum'ing solo! Hopefully there'll be more dim sum choices. I remember seeing on social media they had some unique items only at this location. But I guess I'm too late! **I heard some news, maybe rumors, but the Kapiolani Seafood location might be forced to move due to that and the next lot being torn down for..... you guessed it, more condos! It might have an effect on the Honolulu location. We'll see.

Municipal lots are available as well as they do have direct entrance from the back lot for convenience but I was fortunate to secure a street parking so running i was fast and easy...much easier than deciding from their massive menu so I just kept it simple with their Oyster Sauce Chicken with Cake Noodle. The staff there is very friendly upon taking my order and as I waited for my order it was nice to see the classic vibe of staff making wonton during their down time amounts the hundreds of seatings they still have to this day is so nostalgic. As I enjoyed my dinner at home it was so warm and delicious just as I've always enjoyed in the past like nothing has changed just the comfort of what I grew up in Kaimuki. Thank you!

I really liked their boneless chicken cake noodle dish; crispy cake noodle with chicken, sautéed greens, and thickened sauce was a perfect blend of everything. Overall, its survived the test of time and a good place for dim sum, although I've had better from other options in Honolulu area.
