I explained this to them and they gave me a hard time but cancelled it and said just call back to re-schedule. Long story short they cancelled ALL future appointments and when I went in for the next appt. 3 of the women upfront ganged up on me and argued with me about the appt., it was all ridiculous because I missed 1 appt. I never go on here and say anything about any company wherher I have had a good or bad experienc. But I must say these people are fake and the dentist was not that great but after spending 7 grande all of a sudden they gang up on me for missing that appointment and saying I should go somewhere else. it was so dumb!! Last spring I had my cleaning and they found a crack under a molar crown. I went to an implant specialist. Had it extracted and a bone graft. During those visits I had extensive halo X-rays and regular X-rays. Today I was told if I didn't have a "big picture done" Each Individual Tooth X rayed, they would not clean my teeth. I walked out. That is not necessary. I just had halo X-rays done a year ago. It isn't healthy to have that many X-rays. I am 72. I am not getting all new crowns or veneers. Not going back ever. Furious. They would not clean my teeth unless I agreed to have each tooth xrayed!

In terms of braces themselves, it's too early to share my thoughts on them. However, I've been a little bit frustrated with their financial/administrative side so far. Carolina Braces was one of the orthodontists my dentists referred me to, and I scheduled a consultation since they're a short drive away from me. The phone call was productive and efficient and I got a consultation appointment in for a few weeks later. During my consultation, I got a quote for metal braces. I was not interested in Invisalign and did not realize clear braces were an option since that was not explained to me during the consultation. Following the consultation and prior to my first actual appointment, I learned that clear braces were an option so I emailed to request a quote. Since my first appointment was coming up in a few days, I ended up calling to get the information. Because they already had my insurance information, the treatment specialist (I forget the official title) was able to look up the specific figures and explained that because my insurance coverage was higher for clear braces, my out of pocket price would be the same for both clear and metal braces. I had her confirm this information and the exact figures (how much it would be total, how much my insurance coverage was for each, and what would be the total out of pocket expense would be for me( several times because I was happily surprised that they would cost me the same. With this information, I decided to go with clear braces. Only to show up to my first appointment to find out that it was going to cost me $500 more. I explained to the payment specialist the information I received from the treatment specialist and asked her to confirm since it was wildly different from what I was told. The payment specialist went to ask treatment specialist, and I could literally hear the latter tell the former that she never told me that information (I swear I did not dream the phone call). The payment specialist came back to the office and said there must have even an understanding. I decided to just go with the clear braces since I was already set on it but I was quite frustrated with the inconsistent information provided by Carolina Braces and the fact that there was no apology or accountability. A part of me now wonders if this will be a trend (unpleasant surprises) and if I should have gone to a different orthodontist.
