The space is really gorgeous and the ladies who work there were very nice and respectful to me. Unfortunately I didnt exactly get the result I wanted. I went in as a new client and asked for a long bob. Initially I left feeling quite happy about my haircut. However because my hair was styled, I also didnt notice any issues until I washed my hair the next day and noticed the cuts were uneven. I called in and they were nice enough to take me the same day to fix it. This time I made sure the cuts were lined up before leaving! However when I returned home my friends and roommates told me my hair still wasnt lined in the back (which I obviously couldnt see).. so I dont think I'll be back because I love lobs but I dont doubt they're probably great with longer hair read more

I requested to change the time of my haircut appointment, and they told me they would have to cancel the original appointment--resulting in a 50% charge of $32. That's absolutely ridiculous. The front desk staff spoke very unprofessionally, and I would not recommend this salon. I booked the appointment only 10 minutes ago, and if this is how they handle simple scheduling changes, it's extremely disappointing. read more

My middle school age daughter wanted a bit of a dramatic, kind of edgy hairstyle (we now know is called an ombré) with some chunky flair. With the hair lightening all happening in the bottom half of her probably 30" long hair, we decided to let her get it knowing that at worst if she didn't like it later we could cut the bleached half off and still have some real length left over. She found a picture and we sent it to Summer Christman who said she could absolutely create the look. When I took her into the salon, Summer asked if I wanted to wait on her or just come back later to pick her up. Given the option, I chose to run a few errands, but made sure to check with Summer to ensure that she still had the picture and understood what my daughter wanted. Fast forward to me picking her up and the look of dread on her face. She gave her a full set of yellow/blonde highlights, from tip to root. We brought it to Summer's attention and she immediately became defensive and threw out a ton of excuses. It wasn't possible to do the style she had agreed to. She didn't realize we wanted her to copy the picture instead of just ad lib on her own. Even while processing, my daughter emphasized that she didn't want to be a blonde and didn't want her to touch the roots. Summer didn't listen and somehow none of this was on her. She offered one hour to try to fix it. We decided to go into the salon thinking that even if Summer couldn't do it, a reputable salon should at least do the right thing and take care of her. We couldn't have been more wrong. When we entered the salon, Summer invited us to have the discussion at her chair, surrounded by other stylists working. That was awkward, but we rehashed the issue and Summer continued to deny that she didn't deliver, even though she acknowledged that the coloring didn't resemble the picture at all. Jules, the manager, and some guy who Jules says is the owner eventually came over to weigh in. Summer offered to fix it, but then was wishy washy about whether or not she could actually fix anything. Then they all admitted that the style required a lot more time than it had been given--but somehow it's our fault that Summer didn't know or express that? Ultimately, we weren't comfortable with Summer's wishy-washiness, and they offered to speak with us "up front away from the chairs." The "owner" told us to follow him up front and turned us back over to Jules saying she would take care of us. Jules offered to refund the appointment, minus the $80 tip for Summer, and said we shouldn't have had that conversation in front of the other guests at Summer's chair. She also informed us that their policy was that no one under 16 was allowed to be there without a parent and so we violated their policy. For those reasons, she said they wouldn't fix my daughter's hair and we need to find a new salon. I was so shocked at what she was saying that I had to ask her to repeat herself. Their stylist invited me to drop my daughter off, their stylist invited us into the salon TO HER CHAIR, to hash this out, and somehow we caused the problems. This is the most unprofessionally managed business I've ever experienced. Roll the dice if you want to. These people are awful. read more

Booked an appointment and waited weeks only for it to be cancelled as stylist was sick. Rescheduled with another stylist for a few weeks later. After my appointment I left looking like a skunk with two stripes in the front of my hair. Decided to give it one more shot and booked another appointment a few knths later for a touch up, only for it to be canceled because the stylist was out that day. Don't go here if you're looking for a new stylist! read more

What a poor experience tonight. I loved this place for years as Avante and won't be able to return after the behavior of the stylist Danielle Marra tonight. I arrived for an appt for my 5 year old daughter. Her hair was tangled as it's long and she's 5. The stylist started to look at her hair and got visibly irritated right away. She asked me "how often I brushed it?, was it always like this? Did I know she had yellow spots on her scalp?", etc. i sensed her annoyance but I like to assume good intent of people. I asked if she had kids, which her reply was no. She began to walk around the salon for about 4 minutes to return with a pick comb. She appeared agitated as she combed at the hair and told me "someone else might have to finish the cut"... in which I replied, no problem. After less than 10 minutes of brushing she left for 8 minutes (the timing is exact as I was cognizant of the time since her behavior was making me uncomfortable). She returned to tell me she wouldn't be able to finish. The hair was "severely matted" and she could not finish. She told me I'd need to rebook. I took her home and literally brushed her hair out in five minutes. In the time the stylist spent (8 minutes) complaining or making a case to her manager or doing whatever she did, she literally could have finished brushing her hair... gotten paid with a tip - and retained a family of customers. I will certainly not be back. It's sad because the location and past stylist I connected with over the last decade were great. Since covid it just hasn't been the same. Good luck on rebranding. Danielle Marra should not accept kids cuts as she does not have the skills or experience to manage them or their parents and provide the service that I expect you are trying to as a business. Jules, my last visit was 5/17/24, not 2023. Your receptionist told me that Casey had no openings until Aug. Had she just explained that she felt she couldn't achieve my color tone, it would've been much less humiliating than learning it via Yelp. If I could give zero stars, I would. I left a review with Google as well and instead of trying to take any accountability, this joke of a salon and the salon manager Jules shifted blame and deflected from their rude staff. Don't go here if you want to be treated nicely. This is not the place. They overbook and then try to make it seem as if it's the customers fault. They talk down to customers and belittle them. Call me old fashioned but I'm of the belief that the customers are the gift to the business. Not at this salon. They treat you as if they are the gift. No apologies, nothing. read more

I generally don't complain but this place is really bad. I had an appointment at 2:45 on Saturday when I got there I was told the hair stylist had called in sick and they can't accommodate me with anyone else. Honestly, I was so disappointed and the front desk was so rude and blunt in saying we called you whereas I didn't receive any call. We can reschedule you is what she said ...so sad that they behave like this with customers. Don't waste your time making appointment and going to this place. read more

This is a great salon with a great and very professional staff. I had to switch here when my regular stylist retired and since I started here I have had more compliments on the color of my hair than ever before! Courtney is my colorist and she is awesome, highly recommend. The front desk staff, usually Candace is there, is always friendly and very accommodating. I always reschedule before I leave and then I have to change my appt for some reason and Candace always finds me the perfect time slot for my new appt. You can't go wrong here :-) read more
