Not really authentic nor remotely good. I've eaten here about 3 times. The food is generally too sweet even when it is labelled to be spicy.

This is my favorite Thai restaurant in Rockland. Highly recommend it! Service is fast and friendly. Portions for the main course are generous so we don't usually order appetizers (unless we are very hungry). I love their green curry and Thai iced tea. The restaurant has two rooms: small with a street view and a bigger room inside (no windows). I recommend sitting in the bigger room at least once - it is fun to observe the decor, especially the authentic decorations from Thailand. (Not a big fan of the flower arrangements here but, hey, it's part of the experience :) ) read more

Best. Absolute best Thai food. Try the Ped Choo Chee Duck and the Duck pancakes. My favorite Thai restaurant.

The food was fresh. The Tom Khum was delicious. The owner is very fun and a nice person to chat with. I liked the experience.

My boyfriend and I stopped in to get our beloved gumbo for lunch at Burbon Street, but it was closed. We decided on Thai as a back up and were severely disappointed. My boyfriends massaman curry was terrible. Basically just slices of steamed chicken and vegetables covered in fatty melted peanut sauce. Avocado in it was weird too. Any time I've had Thai food, everything is simmered together and the sauce actually has flavor. Not at King & I. My tom yam soup was fine. Finally, I got to ask the waitress what happened to my green papaya salad after my boyfriend was 2/3 through his meal - and she tells me she thought I said I didn't want it. At that point, I was in no mood to find out how non-authentic that would taste, so we paid and left. read more

Let me start off by saying that it absolutely pains me to be writing a bad review because the hostess/waitress, who I'm assuming owns the place, was super sweet. The restaurant itself is cute and clean, but what I ordered was not that great. I had tofu pad Thai, what I normally get at any Thai restaurant. I have to say, it was not good :-( I had a feeling it wasn't going to be good as soon as I saw the broccoli in it. Broccoli isn't usually in pad Thai. The dish tasted sour, not rancid, just sour. I think it was because of vegetables that shouldn't have been in it like, broccoli, red and green bell peppers, and zucchini. Oh well, I'm willing to go back to try other stuff on the menu because the lady was so nice. read more

The food is okay but I wish you have ketchup because when I eat meat it makes it taste better but you good service.

If you can't take the heat, don't get 'thai with number 4 spice'. I actually watched a man melt in front of me after ordering a Pad Prik with #4 heat. Thai heat is like not other, proceed cautiously. Anyhoo - great food, great service, and complimentary, home-made sauce on the table. I've had many items here, from Pad Prik, to Tom Ka Guy (spelling may be off) to Pad Thai, all are excellent and consistent. Lunch specials are very reasonable, and a good portion with the included size of white or brown rice. Good food, good prices, 'nuff said. read more

I have ordered from King & I twice and both times were delicious. The Seafood Delight is absolutely perfect. The sauce that it comes with is soooo good. I definitely recommend that dish. The staff is also very pleasant, which does not hurt! read more

Good food, authentic Thai cuisine, done to you liking of spicy. Service is the best, prices are great in comparison to other ethnic restaurants in the vicinity. The decor is intimate and cozy, the Window seating makes for great people watching an is the brighter seating in the restaurant. I have eaten there a few times once even brought n twenty friends with me they all loved the food and service. Very accommodating in this establishment and that is refreshing today where all is about money. Would recommend this restaurant everytime and will be eating there again. Quiet atmosphere in the heart of downtown Nyack. Incredible tasting authentic Thai cuisine ...

My wife and I have eaten here ,and other Thai restaurants ,a number of times. On previous dinners' at the King & I ,we were always very satisfied with the food ,the service and the ambiance . That is until I ordered a dinner entrée ( pork , one of my usuals ) that had more fat and grizzle than gets shed on a weekly episode of America's Biggest Looser. When I brought this to the attention of the owner I was told " that,s how we always serve it, nothing is wrong". Not edible,paid the bill ,left the tip and our dinners on the table. We were traveling through Nyack on our way back to Manhattan and found this little gem. Very friendly staff and a delicious meal. The duck pancakes were outstanding. Eclectic decor. A nice departure from chain restaurants and the run-of-the-mill pub scene. We will make a trip back to Nyack just to eat here again! read more

My absolute FAVORITE Thai place, ever, anywhere! I love the Long Island Duck, and I order it spicy, 4 "peppers". They do comply with any spice level you are interested in (measured in number of peppers). The duck is crispy, off the bone, skin in tact, All the appetizers are awesome, the soups - devine. The service is friendly and the owner is so sweet and attentive. Any other Thai restaurant I visit is always a disappointment compared to The King and I. The location is great, right on the main street in Nyack, and the front window dining area makes you feel like you're in Manhattan. read more

I am originally from Rockland and LOVE Thai food. This is by far one of the worst Thai food places I have ever been to. There really is nothing else to say, the decor is fine. But the food is horrible. If you ever had read thai food from even a decent thai place then I PROMISE you that you will not enjoy the food. read more

The King and I is definitely NOTClosed!! Just had lunch here yesterday and as usual it was totally enjoyable from the Thai iced tea to the chicken Kai Med. I have never had salty ice tea as one reviewer stated and I have been having lunch at this restaurant every other month for years. The owner is gracious and the food always of the highest quality. I live 45 min away from this location , and it is the only place i go for thai food.. There are 3 thai restaurants in my area and non come close to KING and I's Pad thai... Hands down the best pad thai in rockland county, and dare i say Westchester county as well. The staff is great and pleasant .. Definitely worth my drive ! read more

This restaurant is open and has never been closed. The fact that someone would lie about it being closed and that you would print it without checking is poor business and disgusting.
