This is among the freshest food I've ever tasted! We will definitely be returning. We had the lunch bento box and it was a 10/10

After hearing so many positive things about Aberdeen Seafood & Dim Sum, I was expecting a standout…read moremeal, but I left disappointed. The food wasn't bad--it was simply mediocre and underwhelming. The biggest issue was that several dishes were underseasoned and lacked the bold flavors I expect from a good Cantonese restaurant. The Yang Chow fried rice was especially bland and needed more seasoning. The har gow and several of the dim sum items also fell short of expectations. The steamed spare ribs and beef chow fun were okay but nothing memorable. The salt and pepper shrimp was probably the highlight of the meal, but it wasn't unique or better than what I've had at many other Chinese restaurants. Overall, the food was decent, but considering the restaurant's reputation, I expected much more. I don't regret trying it, but I wouldn't make a special trip back.

However, the rest of the broad and deep menu is excellent as well. The rich Sweet Corn Chicken Soup is sweet, thick (but not gummy) and quite tasty. The pan fried dumplings were outstanding. They were perfectly cooked and well stuffed with minced pork and veggies. The Honey Walnut Shrimp were amazing - plump and perfectly dressed. Finally, the Sesame Chicken was amazing. Perfectly cooked but the best thing is that the chicken was moist, rich and flavorful. So, if we're ever back in White Plains, you know where we'll be dining.

Instead, I found a clean, efficient dim sum spot with surprisingly good food. The self-service concept worked really well. You order at the counter, pick up your own food, and there is no tipping. I actually like this system because at traditional dim sum restaurants you often spend more time waiting for carts or servers than eating. One thing that really impressed me was the cleanliness. The restaurant isn't newly renovated, but it's well maintained. After each table left, the staff cleaned with fresh sanitizing wipes instead of using the same cloth over and over. They also serve everything with disposable plates and utensils, which personally gives me more confidence than reusable tableware that isn't always cleaned thoroughly. The food was consistently good. The lotus leaf sticky rice was fragrant, the rice noodle roll with fried dough had a great texture, and the Teochew dumplings were generously filled. The standout dish was the stuffed trio. The shrimp paste was fresh and springy, the fried tofu was crispy, and getting eggplant, tofu, and green pepper on one plate made it easy to try a little of everything.

I can't believe I've lived in Westchester so long and never tried O Mandarin! It was so good! The…read morerestaurant itself has a great ambiance, a little dark (in a good way), and probably great at night. The service was excellent, with not only our waiter helping, but food runners and bussers assisting as well. And the food was delicious! The soup dumplings were delicious- I think I could just eat a big serving of those. My seafood hotpot was full of wonderful shrimp, scallops and much more, all very tasty. They said it would be "spicy", but it really wasn't very, so if you don't like extremely spicy food, you'll be ok (But maybe ask them for it to be a little spicer than normal if you do like very spicy food). I would recommend a visit ASAP! Don't wait for years like I did. I missed out!

Omanderine in Hartsdale turned out to be the perfect choice. We started with the classic soup dumplings--there's definitely an art to eating them without spilling the broth or burning your mouth, but that's part of the fun. They were delicious. We also had the vegetable dumplings, which were just as satisfying. For our main dishes, we ordered the beef short ribs, which were generously portioned and full of flavor, along with beef chow mein and vegetable and egg fried rice. My personal favorite was the chicken and broccoli in a rich sauce which really stood out. The service was excellent. Our waiter was attentive, offered great recommendations, and even brought me a fork when it became clear my chopstick skills needed some work. The décor transports you and complements the dining experience beautifully. The décor makes you feel like you've been transported somewhere far more exotic than Westchester, which pairs perfectly with the food and the overall vibe. We came for a break from pasta. We left planning our return.
